Appleyard:Very great points you've there! However, methinks that this should be the least worry of anybody, there's a saying in my local dialect - 'he who doesn't take advice or caution from people, will most certainly learn from his mistakes'. For me I don't care, if America supplies Ukraine with the most latent lethal weapons, as far as I'm concerned that will back fire on America. The Morale of the Ukies army is very low... Supplying Kiev with lethal weapons will only endanger their military the more, and escalate the war. If America is interested in helping Ukraine, they should think of finding a way to end the war and not to escalate it! I believe sending weapons to Ukraine will embolden Putin, and heck if Putin goes after Kiev not even NATO can stop his incursions, (and I think Obama acknowledged that recently). For me this Ukraine matter is just a mere distraction... I've looked at all the options that there are, I'm convinced beyond doubt that there's nothing that's gonna come out of this. The simple solution to all these, as someone already mentioned, is to allow Russia to go with Crimea forever, and then get Donbass federalized. Period! End of story! I keep wondering why America has refused to learn from its own mistakes. They made a similar move (mistake) two years ago, when the nutter McCain was calling for the arming of the 'moderate Syrain Rebels', it was the arming of the rebels that off- springed (sic) ISIS, and America seemed not to understand that there actions on this have a reverse negative effect. When Obama started his 'senseless' air strikes on ISIS last year, I heard so many world leaders and opinion writers rejected such actions, and claiming it will have zero effect, if anything it will balloon the crises. They (analysts and opinion writers including some world leaders) were campaigning for some sort of cooperation between America and Assad, even pushing for America to consider putting 'boots on ground'. infact a particular guy on nairaland shymex was very passionate about his disapproval of Obama's action, today we all know better. I thnk something is getting wrong with the White House foreign policies, and believe me with Russia they have chosen the wrong battle. Only time will tell! Stay safe. |
Very funny! Absolutely satirical! |
I think USA supplying Kiev with lethal weapons will be a great mistake. However, thankfully a lot of European nations including Germany and France are against the move. I beleive the U.S. govt will backtrack. |
darediamond:Bros, I've heard a lot about this interim govt, but can't seem to understand what it is for. Please can you enlighten me on how 'we' Nigerians will benefit from it. You did mention that it is a south east thing, what do you mean by that? But if I may add, I think interim govt may be a disaster to the country, and I don't even see GEJ agreeing to such arrangements... Cheers |
gbl01:Honestly, the guy is even more jobless than I thought.. Food stamp things... |
notobs:My brother nice reply, and May God bless you! Some people come to nairaland and expose their complex, without knowing it. |
GBTYO:Brother your analysis were point. But somehow I get the feeling that Jonathan will win Nassarawa state... Infact I'm betting that this election will be 52% PDP and 48% APC. I do not see any marginal win by Jonathan. PDP will win with a 10% wide margin at least. |
Oga spyder, how about the gulf city estate is it still in the pipeline? Is work still on going there or has it stopped? Please answer me are you into properties? If so can you give a list of properties you have in independence layout or new haven. I need cheap properties in those areas. |
Nonsense write up! I can bet my two-cents that this aint IBB in no way. However, I'm glad with this purpoted 'IBB interview' because it exposes the impotence of Amechi, OBJ and APC. GEJ till Forever comes! |
Honestly! I've followed this discussion of Chris/Andy Uba senatorial ambition for a long time. Though we all agree that Chris is a notorious gangster and damn mean, he has a terrible past remember. But for the sake of making the Ibo voice heard in the NASS, I think people like Chris should go to NASS. NASS is not a place where the representatives pay salary or build infrastructures. If that was the case, one could start arguing against Chris, because he will simply embezzle the money alloted for such projects. Nay, NASS is like a tug of war room, where very dogged people are needed. I want to believe if someone like Chris was in the house, that Anambra oil bill will not be thrown out the way it was. Lest we forget the next NASS will be a tough one, we have got some important bills before the National Assembly seeking for passage. Bills like the PIB, the national conference bill, and by the way, if the recommendations of the national conference is implemented I bet anyone Nigeria will be on a fast lane to national prosperity... But we all know that the Fulanis will loose out, because the National conference bill does not favour their garrulous greed, and born to rule mentality. So it follows a logical procedure, that the Fulanis will be searching for some radicals they will present that will help them kill the bill. I think we Ibos need some radicals too that will push the bills through. I have watched Ibo senators make presentations before the floor of the NASS, honestly they appear to be begging, very dull, no effervescence in their presentation. Contrarily, when you see these Agbada men make presentations it seems they want to pull down the NASS. I feel time has has come when we need to meet arrogance with arrogance, and doggedness with doggedness. Finally, Chris Ngige was able to work and win people - ndi Anambra over, because he realized he had some very formidable opposition, and the only way for him riggle out of their grasp was to have the backing a of the masses. This development kept Chris Ngige on his toes.. Similarly, I thnk Obiano should be kept on his toes too. If people like Chris Uba is in the senate, I think the governor will be loosing sleep and will do every thing possible to ensure the People are happy with him, lest he get swallowed by his political opponents. I believe these are the upside of having someone like Chris Uba around. May God bless Anambra FOREVER!!! |
Nonsense! Jonthan is too intelligent for that. Nobody is orchestrating the postponement of the elections. |
Flets:My brother honestly, May God bless you! May he bless you beyond your peers in Jesus Name! Amen. You are a blessing to your generation! |
Who knows, he maybe far better than Chime. After all nobody believed Chime will work, owing to his relationship with Nnamani. But Chime surprised everybody with a job well done. I think, all we have to do is to pray for him and assure him of our support. I believe with the standard Sullivan has set in Enugu state, it's almost impossible for any successive govt to go below it. Enugu indigenes are now wiser and know what they want from their governors. All the same May God bless the Coal city! |
oneeast:Honestly, I feel very elated whenever I hear this kind of news coming from Anambra state. Come to think of it, all over Nigeria, I don't think there's any state that has produced more individual accomplishment than Anambra state. Believe me, I see no reason why Lagos should be ahead of Anambra in GDP generation. In fact, I believe Anambra state has got all it takes to be thier own country. Honestly, I thank God I'm an anambrarian. The feelings I get being an anambrarian almost assures me that I'm created for an impact. That said, I beleive time has come when Ibos should start looking inwards and start to develop their land. Remeember! Charity they say, begins at home. We have developed Nigeria for far too long, and yet very painfully - Nigeria has not recognized the immense contribution of the Ibos, it's now time to be a little selfish. I could remember when I was doing my NYSC in Osun state, over 80% of the plazas in Osogbo were being owned and managed by the Ibos, honestly I'm not making this up. We need to make Anambra work. I will be glad to see a situation where Ibo graduates no longer go to Abuja or Lagos to look for jobs, But just to turn right, and go straight down to either Nnewi, Onitsha, Awka, Aba, Umuahi, Owerri or Enugu and get a well paid job. Please, keep updating this tread with the positive advancement of my lovely state. And may we all support the governor to succeed. May God bless Anambra FOREVER!!! |
Please ndi Anambra ibem, can someone give me an update on the current status of Orient refinery. Is the refinery an abandoned project? Or is it still in the pipeline? What about the claims of oil deposits found in Anambra, are those claims valid or has it been rejected? Pardon my inquisitiveness, I'm not in ground to ascertain things for myself. I'm somewhere far away from home. |
I'm very impressed with the replies I get on this tread.. We all must work to ensure that Ibos get their due place in the nigerian politics, after all we run the economy and we have all it takes to advance our course. Buhari in no way represents our interest, that guy is a pure jihadist and over our dead bodies will an aboki rule us. Ndigbo ka anyi kwado ochichi Jonathan na oga abara anyi uru. |
Nonsense post from an idle slowpoke! |
Though I'm not fully on ground - in Anambra, but the little I could gather from my visit to my home state last Christmas is a testament that Obiano is really working hard to make Anambra state a better place. I believe if we give the governor the needed support he will succeed. I think the lack of support shown by Nigerians to her leaders is the bane of poor leadership. And it is my wish that my brothers and sisters in Anambra state will learn to appreciate her leaders. However, I will plead with the state govt to give priority attention to water issue in the state and also make every effort to depopulate Onitsha. If Obiano can achieve 70% of his master plan, no doubt Anambra will be the toast of Africa. |

Can anyone confirm the rumour that Dave Umahi was not presented as the PDP candidate. Instead Jonathan and Elechi chose to ignore Dave's presence. A friend of mine told me that PDP is yet to decide Umahi's candidature. Is it true? |

Please umu Enugu, does anyone here have plots of land to sell n independent layout or GRA, for 4-5 million per plot. I need to know, as I have a client who is interested in such deal. |
Bro, I think on this matter your opinion is the most reasonable analysis I have read on nairaland. However, know that America will always think of their own welfare first before any order. |
networkgenuis:That doesn't mean economic contagion, contrary to what Obama would want the world to believe. After all Nigeria devalued the currency in order to meet-up with their budget needs. So in this case the west is helping Russia do that all for free. Kudos! |
networkgenuis:Maturity at its peak. Congrats! |
gboss4sure:Sometimes I wonder how delusional people can be, to believe things straight-on without any verification. Having followed the standoff between Russia and the west for quite sometime, I have no doubt whatsoever that Russia will win this game. I think America and Europe are overplaying their hands, and lately some European leaders are becoming aware of this, and are beginning to distance themselves from the destructive policies of the west. The recent comments made by Hollande some three days ago during the EU conference meeting confirms this. It's simply a vain wish for America to think they will snatch crimea and Sevastapol away from Russia. This can never happen - heck for russia to loose it's acces to the Black Sea? Hey Common, it's simply impossible, I mean russia has got a lot of cards to play with... And the west knows this. In fact, I'm even beginning to believe that America plotted all these just to keep Europe not russia down. Let's leave sentiments aside PUTIN IS A CHESS MASTER! Many world leaders including Obama admire the guys intelligence and brevity, and would wish to be at least half as intelligent as he is. This guy (Putin) has won consistently the most powerful man in the world award, and this is confirmed by no less a paper but Forbes; which as it were - is the center of western lies and fabrication. Yet they know you can't comapre him with any world leader. Obama's rating in the US is not even up to 30% and there he is ranting over somebody whose domestic rating is over 80% and more than 40% and 56% percent rating in Germany and China respectively. Nonsense! |
I have a client who is building a hotel. I've told him to install CCTV in the hotel but he is kinda skeptical. However, can you give me an estimate cost of installing three CCTV in different terminals. |
You got to believe Putin. That guy has iron balls. |
PStacks:Just forget Buhari... he can never be Nigeria's president. whatever may happen in 2015, but one thing I know for sure is that a united and democratic Nigeria come 2015 is only possible if GEJ is returned. All these things APC is doing is just mere gra-gra. Anybody thinking that Jonathan will loose 2015 election is living a lie. This is just a reality, and the sooner we come to the realization the better for us. |
