Appleyard: Now, i percieve that what informed your opinion that the USS ship jamming claim was not true, could be as a result of the fact that the Khibiny jammer was not officialy stated as deployed on the Su-24 type of bombers (as evident in the link you posted above.) If thats the case, i must admit you just nailed home your point.
However, looking at it from another angle, not withstanding the West's habit of non reporting or 'doctoring' of the actual as it relate to such events that does'nt fit their 'mapped out' naratives and objectivity, many tends to follow the line of most of these alternative media bodies (the likes of which you called Putin fan boys, though many of them are actually truthseekers, or ''middle seaters,'' not actually Putin's fan boys) because, unlike most of the Corporate Main Stream Media, most are privately independent from States under cover control and blind reporting.
And when you take into consideration the fact that the US openly complained in the wake of the event that took place between the USS Cook and the Russian jet, one would see that certain facts conote some questions, which in turn, beg for answers. For instance, this is'nt the first time this type of thing is happening at sea, and NEVER were the CREW on board on such any encounter with Russia planes ''EVER BEEN DEMORALIZED.'' (though this also has been debunk as false) But for the plane to make not just 1, 2 or 3 (at the most) simulation passes, but A WHOLE 12 in a row, and the Yankees did nothing about it? Except you wana say they were ENJOYING THE SHOW. And come to think of it, since when did a Russian pilot develop ''Mike Tyson's ball'' of steel that gave him the ''audacity'' to make TWELVE buzzing simulation fly-pass attack on a US formidable ship as this? is the pilot on drugs or an alien? (just wondering aloud.) And the fact that the US complained aloud (when this is nothing new to them,) and where even ''forced'' to ''Mentained'' that the Donald Cook was more than ''capable'' to ''defend'' itself, speaks volume of what actually transpired over there.(who asked Warren if the ship can or can't defend itself?) Plus the fact that, Since that incident, which the Atlanticist media have carefully covered up (not even a mention of the encounter, let alone the jamming theory on most MSM headlines) despite the widespread reactions sparked among defense industry experts, no US ship has ever approached Russian territorial waters again. I dont know if this has changed, though. I duff my cap for your analytical mindset and matured response! |

SirShymexx: US was minding its business by supplying weapons to all sides, no?
Your retort is just all over the place. And what has Ebola got to do with this? Don't even get started about Ebola and its origin loool.
And aren't white Americans also racist? Ever heard about Tuskegee experiment? Planned parenthood? How about the flooding of black neighbourhoods with crack cocaine and the war in drugs for the mass imprisonment of black people? You mean the same country built by slaves and where tens of thousands of slaves were lynched and a country that once had Jim Crow laws isn't racist? The same country that is still deeply segregated?
Can you cite anywhere in history where Russians enslaved black people
Your argument is all over the place - stick to the topic. Shymex, if I were you I will stop commenting on nairaland, most especially on this russia/america issue. Politics › Re: Elechi Served Impeachment Notice By Ebonyi House Of Assembly by castrogee(m): 12:35am On Mar 02, 2015 |
Nuzo1: What is happening in Ebonyi politically has happened in a couple of states like Anambra (ngige/obi), Edo (igbrnedion/oshiomole), Osun and Ekiti states. A situation where the voting populace realizes that nobody is indispensable and then back the underdog up by voting out the cabal. The only difference between Ebonyi and these other states is that the supposed underdog may end up being more tyrannical than Elechi himself.
Ebonyians is in the best time to reposition themselves politically but the options the various parties presented as candidates are nothing to write home about. PDP, APC and LP all rigged out very capable hands in the primaries. The APGA guy has odds against him cos of his zone.
Problem started when the Governor thought the usual Nigerian politics will continue when he selected his gang including himself as nominees for all the political posts. He thought he could achieve this by forcing the PDP chairman to resign and installing a non executive member as the acting chairman. Yawa started gassing when it was alleged that the deputy governor has bought the entire NWC of PDP. Even against the President's orders to use Elechi's list of delegates for primaries, the NWC went ahead to use that of the deputy governor. Before Elechi could say Jack, he has lost the whole position to aspirants loyal to the deputy governor. After a committee consisting of Fayose, Akpabio and co tried reconciling the both parties to no avail, Elechi decamped to labour party while still maintaining that he is still in PDP.
Since he partially decamped to labour, the House of Assembly, PDP stakeholders and the voting populace has been balkanized. PDP now has majority in the House over LP, heck the impeachment proceedings. Stories even alleged that the Elechi's supporters may have burnt the House of Assembly complex 3 days ago to stall the impeachment proceedings.
The impeachment proceedings has little or nothing to do with non performance or disorderly conducts but the fact that elechi will not allow election to be rigged in favor of PDP as they were initially hoping for.
This new turn of events will give room for a free and fair election in the state but problem is that the gubanatorial candidates are not what Ebonyians expected. They have lost hope even before the election.
Nb. His son who is a leading contractor and senatorial candidate in LP was arrested by EFCC alongside account general and commissioner of finance a couple of days ago. Wonderful and thought provoking analysis. You spoke like a very intelligent undercover agent! I think Ebony state problem is caused by the indigenes themselves. Though non of the guber aspirants is worth the ballot paper on which his/her name is printed on, however, I will prefer Umahi over Edon, had PDP or LP presented Dr Paul Okorie (Aktion) one can boastfully say that Ebonyi state is approaching urbanization. But with the quality of scalywags presented in this election - I'm force to ask whither Ebonyi state? |

BuddahMonk: Things Anambra State government need to do for us this year.
1. Link Oraifite Street Awada and MCC Rd with a flyover across the express with double lane.
2. Link Uga Street Fegge and Atani Rd with a flyover across the expressway with double lane.
3 Dualize Nnewi-Ozubulu-Ihembosi-Okija Road with state of the art street furnitures.
4. Dualize Onicha Rd Nnewi with state of the art street furnitures.
5. Tar major streets in Awada, Nkpor, Fegge, Iyiowa and Woliwo.
6. Ban signposts and billboards that littered all the streets in Onicha and Nnewi.
7. Build two skyscrapers (16 storey each) in Onicha, one in New market Rd, one in Old Market Rd and develop a comprehensive CBD in Onicha
8. Clear Nwangene lake and convert it to an international car park where containers will be offloading instead of blocking our streets here.
9. Change all the names of the streets that bear Northern State in Onicha and change it to the name of great Omanbalas, change Bida Rd to Achebe Rd, change Sokoto Rd to Soludo Street, change Kano Street to Adichie Street, change Kaduna street to Akunyili street,
etc These would sure be great, if implemented. But I doubt if the present administration has the capacity to implement them. |

MrEverest: That video by BBC is what is now trending everywhere, in Owerri, every music shop, public places & homes are airing it. The massive popularity of the video goes to show that people are not happy with what Mbaka did. He betrayed us, as for the man that produced the video, he did a yeoman job & should be commended.#Teammbakawhy? How I wish this is really happening. I mean, that the video trends everywhere even outside Nigeria. People don't seem to understand that Jonathan is fulfilling a divine mandate in Nigeria. God made Jonathan what he is today, and no man including Mbaka can take God's crown away from Jonathan. Even as an ordinary Nigerian - watching Jonathan has come to strengthen my faith in God, and indeed I now know that God surely liveth. I know a one time governorship candidate of Anambra state, who in 2009 gubernatorial election visited and sought for the endorsement of the Sultan of Sokoto. Now one begins to wonder what has the endorsement of the sultan of Sokoto to do with Anambra gubernatorial election. This is simply to show us that in Nigeria there are powers that have been determining how things go, and these powers are now at work against Jonathan's re-election, simply because Jonathan has maintained his turf, not given-in to any kind of compromise. A lot of injustices have been going on in Nigeria. I was astounded when a Director in the Ministry of Environment told me in 2011, that prior to Jonathan's presidency, all the Northern Emirs not including their Southern counterparts where paid over 10 million naira monthly, from the proceeds of royalties paid by oil companies. He even went on to say that most of the oil companies where compelled to have on their management board a nominee of any of the Northern Emir. Again, one begins to wonder the rationale, justice and common sense behind such arrangement. why will the oil gotten from the Niger Delta soil be used to service some Emirs in the far north, completely leaving out their Southern counterparts. These deals started immediately after the civil war, and all the leaders after Aguiyi Ironsi; including the recently converted democrat Buhari and Obasanjo endorsed it. Where is the justice and equity Buhari and Sanusi preaches. Thankfully, Jonathan did not only cancel it, but equally exposed the deal to some of his close aides and friends. Some of us who have visited Bayelsa state know that the life those riverine people live is simply sub-human and despicable, yet their oil is what is sustaining Nigeria. Sustaining the Emirs, and Obasanjo that has been insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians. In overall, Bayelsans' bear the environmental degradation, while the rest of Nigerians including myself eat from their collective wealth. What is most demeaning and disgraceful, is that 'we all' (Nigerians) benefit from the oil gotten from the Niger Delta region. However, while the Igbo race will be grateful to the Niger Deltans for helping us sustain our economy, the rest of Nigeria most especially the Fulanis rather take the path of insulting the very hands that feeds them. Many a time I have heard Nigerians complain of corruption in Jonathan's administration. However, anyone who knows the workings of government will agree with me that in comparison, Jonathan is a saint compared to all the Nigerian former leaders (dead or alive). Jonathan cannot be compared to any of them in any positive aspect, he will win hands down. Jonathan may not be perfect, off course there are still lapses here and there, but comparing Jonathan with any of the Nigerian leader including Murtala and Buhari is like comparing black and white. Jonathan is the least most corrupt Nigerian leader!!! When one aggregates all that has been happening in this country, evidently, one begins to understand why what Fr. Mbaka said is just pure bunkum and silliness. I want to believe that Mbaka is an informed citizen, and if he claims to be sincere with his conscience, and really meant what he said, then all I can say is that it is unfortunate we have such kinds of men parading themselves as priests. Lastly, one thing I no for sure is that Jonathan has won his re-election, and Nigeria is becoming great. This is the making of history. For the first time in Nigeria we have someone (president) who fought the cabals (Oil, Nepa, Civil service, former military generals, heads of states, etc.) in power and defeated them. For the first time in Nigeria we have a president who is not seeking endorsement from the Mafias (Northern emirs, Past leaders, Business barons, governors forums, former and serving millitary generals, individuals and families like, the Yar-aduas, Obasanjos, IBBs, Tinubus, Babalakins, Bankoles Atikus, Ubas, Danjumas, Dantatas, Dangotes, Ibrus, etc.) to win his re-election, rather on the vote and will the commoners like me. This election will simply prove that Nigeria can move forward without any threat from any person, and its my hope that in Jonathan's second tenure he will begin to act decisively, and implement the agreements of the National conference. I'm proud to be a Nigerian! |

mojounited: I beg to disagree. The Nigerian Navy has a laid down long term plan to make our Navy a blue water Navy by 2020. By acquiring OPVs, Frigates, Submarines and anti-submarine capable helicopters, we'd be able defend our entire territorial waters and also launch devastating strikes/blows to any external aggressors i.e if we wanted to scare Cameroon off Bakassi and take back
This has nothing to do with the President, it's the vision statement of the Nigerian Navy. The President can only take credit for not scuttling the budget plans of the Navy and maybe encouraging more local content which can be seen from the 32-metre NNS Andoni and our 2nd 1800 ton OPV which will be built 70% in China and 30% in-country to achieve technology transfer.

SirShymexx: Thanks, bruh. Just trying to fall back a bit cos of how confrontation debates do get sometimes, and this forum has a way of bringing out the worst in people.
I think Putin is playing a slow, but very effective game in Ukraine, and he wants the Kiev Junta to self-destruct, gradually. While maintaining a balance between the hardliners at home, and the oligarchs. Donbass is gone forever now, and the rebels have dug in, with layers of defenses that would be very difficult to break - even if Kiev gets all the US weapons in the world. Hence every time fighting resumes, they always acquire more territory.
They signed a ceasefire agreement two days, and a lot of folks questioned why Putin agreed to a hasty agreement, since the rebels have about 7,000 - 8,000 Ukrainian forces (a lot of folks believe there are loads of EU and US regulars in there) in Debaltseve, and that's an opportunity to destroy a large chunk Kiev's fighting forces - and see a message to EU. But I think he understood what's at stake, and the bigger picture, hence the carrot and stick approach.
Anyway, I think the end game after Donbass, is Mariupol, for land corridor to Crimea. However, he's ready to play the waiting game, and both the US and EU exhaust everything they have got, without Russia necessarily getting directly involved. By summer the Rebels should smash Kiev to bits and they might have enough to declare a republic then. Personally, I don't think Ukraine will ever be united again, to be honest. Spot on. Damn, you are so right! |

Appleyard: But still, the real danger such a move by the US will pose, is the 'unpredictable' Russian line of reaction. Yes, we can say, they may intervene overtly, or better still, march on straights at kiev. But what worries me the most is that, Russia might not (and according to thier new military doctrine) does not see the Ukraine as the 'immediate' or 'main' threat. Hence, the Russians might just 'act' disproportionally'. Russia cant be predicted. The worst is, they dont make threats, or rarely do. They just act! Well said! However, I do not feel sorry for either the Ukrainians, the EU or even America. Not that I'm a sadist but simply - I'm being real. Ordinarily, I feel sorry for the common man like you and me who will bear the cost of this miscalculation. but realistically, I do not expect you (appleyard) to feel sorry for me, if I go to challenge John Cena or may be Mike Tyson for a fight, out of my own volition. The simple conclusion to my analogy is that feeling sorry for a fool is simply a waste. Clearly America started this nonsense! trying to intimidate Russia has never worked in history, starting from the eight century when they were still a nutshell, and regarded as Muscovy. They have fought many wars, more wars than any nation on planet earth, and have recorded more than 90% victory. Trying to arm Ukraine will make Moscow react in a disproportionate manner like you said, but who cares. The idea of America running the entire world like a poultry farm is very dangerous and costly for the world to bear. And even if they succeed today, I sure bet you tomorrow will be different. I think the world has had enough of Americas 'meddlesomeness' (sic) and its very natural that after sometime, people will begin to react the way Moscow is doing. (I hope you listened to Obama just two days ago, saying 'that sometimes america twist the arms of nation to make them do their bidding'). It remains to be seen how they will succeed with Russia Just take a look at what the main stream media is reporting about Nigeria, and you will notice the venom from the west over our country, simply because Nigeria denied them their gay marriage proposals, and situating their Africom base in Nigeria (and this is Nigeria which was the darling of the west not too long ago), what a HYPOCRISY. Such tight control over another man's country is terribly bad, and believe me no matter how one looks at it sooner or later it gets to you. My elder brother used to be America freak, in-fact for him whatever America does is the best and always second to none, I remember then I used to caution him to look very well before making a judgement/s, but he sounded adamant. Sooner than he knew, America beamed their searchlight on Nigeria and now he's beginning to realize that he has being living in delusion. So from IBB's regime nigeria has been paying, until 1999 Obasanjo who is a Christain came & stopped it for 8yr's of his Tenure. Then 2007 Yara'dua came in & paid the outstanding depth of OBJ to OIC, with an interest & apology, he also paid his own from 2007 - 2010 & died. Goodluck Jonathan came in & Stop it for 6yr's now! He is seeking for 2nd Tenure that will make it 10yr's. So that Nigeria will be delivered from the Blood sucking Islamic Religion. Thats why APC presidential candidate Buhari has been fighting to rule nigeria since OBJ's regime till date. Remember Nigeria 100yr's centenary was in 2014.
