All I want to know is when Ogunstate and Ondo state swapped geographical locations. All my life ogun has always been west of Ondo state.

What a load of *******. Utter nonsense!! You steal or you no steal? |
WhizdomXX:Renewed hope infrastructure fund. https://www.rhidf.gov.ng/ |
saintopus:Cc:dre11 This is the kind of lazy journalism that spreads misinformation amongst the populace. 1: this figure is total sales. When a car dealer sells a car, the price of the car is not his profit or earnings. When the restaurant sells you a plate of Amala and EWEDU, the price is not her profit . 2: cost of production is between $30 and $40 3: our crude oil production occurs under JV arrangements. The most Nigeria has in any production is 60% So if you want to know how much we truly earned from crude, deduct cost of production and multiply by our average share in the production wells. E.G for every barrel of oil sold at $65 What comes to the govt is sale price - production cost x equity stake in JV. ($65-$35) x 60% = approx $18 So when they tell you Nigeria earned N55trillion, the true figure is more like N15Trillion. Now let’s not forget that a significant portion of our current and future production has been forward sold, meaning the last administration has already collected money in advance for some of our current and future crude, so the reality is what Nigeria truly earned in 2025 is probably closer to N10Trillion |
its likely largely due to Dangote importing US crude. |
Watcharena:Ignorance is a terrible disease. If you knew how meaningless and easy it is to become a honorary citizen you wouldn’t type what you did. Honorary citizen of the state of…..in the US is like governor for a day they do in Lagos. It is a meaningless piece of paper. My father was a honorary citizen of a state in the USA. When I was young I used to think it meant as his son, I was also an American citizen. It turns out it means nothing even for him. He was there as a group of student tourists and they visited the government offices as par to of their tourism and were made honorary citizens on the spot. It is a meaningless piece of paper. It is like certificate of attendance for tourists. Like Monopoly money, governor for a day etc. it is not real! |
Namaster:it is a lie. 1. traditional marraige is different from registry (official) marraige 2: returning dowry does not negate an official registry marraige. in the eyes of the law they are still married until a court divorce. 3: he could not have "brought" her to Australia on the basis of a traditional marriage. either the story is not true or he is just fooling himself by returning dowry and not divorcing her in court. |
in my time you will be lucky to see 100 students graduating with a first class from Unilag in any year. secondly it is almost unheard of for a student to get a perfect 5.0 GPA in a humanities degree......again certainly not in my time. you can draw your own conclusions. |
luvinhubby:BBC posted the story in November that the report was false. There was no lobby contract in November. The only lobby contract then was the IPOB lobby contract to Ted Cruz and the likes. casualobserver:Oh and BTW he is also an associate of Peter Obi, just google Peter Obi amd Umeagbalasi and you will see their long history.
|
175:This story was carried by the BBC in November and I posted in on Nairaland at the time on November 6th. This has nothing to do with the Nigerian lbby contract. The BBC clearly stated it then but you people were hoping for a different outcome then. Now the truth that has always been there is coming out. casualobserver: Oh and BTW he is also an associate of Peter Obi, just google Peter Obi amd Umeagbalasi and you will see their long history.

Kimo21:Bring some intelligence and maturity into your analysis. It’s people like you why I resolved not to be active on Nairaland. This is my 1st login this year and now o realized why o resolved not to login to Nairaland anymore. Have a good day. |
Kimo21:What was that again? Remind me! I can’t remember the conversation but I can tell you this 100%, except Wike does something really stupid, Tinubu will stand behind Wike 100%. Even if he does something stupid, Tinubu will find a way to save him from himself. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to realise that Fubara is clearly not a trustworthy person. Tinubu has been in politics long enough to know that he is not a reliable partner. |
FreeStuffsNG:Actually, socialism did not fail Venezuela. The Venezuelan situation is more complex than that. Venezuela came under US instigated sanctions. They couldn’t sell their oil, they couldn’t get parts to maintain their oil industry. Their economy was deliberately crippled by the US. Let Saudi or the UAE or any other petro economy be under sanctions for 20 years and see if they won’t be in the same state as Venezuela. This is not about socialism. They have a population of just 25m people and we’re producing close to 4m barrels of oil per day. They can afford socialism. However when production dropped to below 1mbpd and as a low as 500k, socialism will look bad, but the problem wasn’t socialism. Even if you have a capitalist economy, if you are sanctioned and can’t export or run your economy, capitalism will look bad. It’s not a question of socialism failing but the sanctions working. In typical US style they create a situation and then claim to be your savior. I am not an advocate of communism or socialism but the greatest evil in the world is not socialism or communism but the United States of America. Even the terrorism in Nigeria who started it? Was there Boko Haram before IRaq invasion, were there any Fulani herdsmen or ISWAP before Killing of Ghaddafi? Who was funding the terrorism in the Sahel? |
HisaacPlus:You get a German sherpard it barks! You replace it with a Rottweiler, it barks, again you keep replacing the dogs, you try a bulldog, terrier, Doberman etc etc they all bark. You forget a dog is a dog irrespective of breed and all dogs bark….that’s what they do! Our problem is not politicians or the leaders. Our problem is the nature of the average Nigerian. Whatever the “problem” of the politicians and leaders, you can see in your everyday interaction with fellow ordinary Nigerians. Politicians and leaders are not aliens. They reflect and carry the character and traits of you the average Nigerian. They don’t suddenly assume a character or trait they don’t have simple because they become a politician. If the average Nigerian is a crook, dishonest or lacking in integrity, he doesn’t suddenly become a saint because he is elected to office. There are civil servants who are in their 60s and about to retire who have served and stolen under every government since Shagari, whether PDP or APC or NPN or military. They are ordinary Nigerians. No government can steal a single penny without a civil servant. Like Fashola said…..”I don’t sign Cheques”. Remember, for every theft by a politician, a civil servant is involved. |
ComingKing:Understand one thing. A law is not a law until it is signed and gazetted. So if you want to know the law you look for the gazette. The law was gazetted in June. The genuine and the fake both have June as their dates because that was when it was gazetted. You would be foolish to forge the gazette and put any other date than the date the original was gazetted which was June. That would be like robbing a bank and then removing your face mask to look at the cctv camera. That a law is to start in January does mean the hazette will have a January or December date. That a law is gazetted in June does not mean it takes effect in June. The issue is not the date on the gazette but the content. |
1vandragon:Use your common sense. |
1vandragon:Actually the answer to your question is yes. because it is devoid of the Nigerian factor. As you can clearly see, the version I posted is the authentic version. I can now also clearly see that. the version you referenced is a falsified version. It goes to show that Nigerian govt websites are not always the best places to go to look for authentic information. It is not about how a site is funded but it’s reputation and integrity. Ask yourself, which site has the correct version and which has the fraudulent version? Exactly! That said, I can now see that the gazette has been falsified. That is clearly a fraud and the perpetrators must be brought to book. Heads need to roll! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know the version I posted is the authentic version. The version signed by the president. Otherwise it wouldn’t exist in gazette form lending credence to why it is a more reliable site as far as gazettes are concerned than a Nigerian govt site. Note also that on the fiscal reforms committee website, my version is the version displayed. Again lending credence to my belief that that was the authentic version signed by the president. So yes Rufai was right after all. Somebody has falsified the law. The tax appeal tribunal should explain how and where they got their own version from. |
1vandragon:Oga please be informed, that the only version that is the law is the version gazetted. I know the site you quoted is an official govt site but we all know that sloppiness and anyhowness is the way of the typical Nigerian. Whatever is listed on that site in not the official law. It could have been one of the draft copies that the webmaster uploaded. What I published is the official gazetted version with the coat of arms of the government. It is also the version of pan the fiscal reforms website. If whatever law you are reading does not have “federal government gazette”, It is NOT the final tax law as signed by the president. https://gazettes.africa/akn/ng/officialGazette/government-gazette/2025-06-26/117/eng@2025-06-26 Part of being an educated person is knowing where to go to find the authentic law. The only law is the gazetted law. For that you must know where to find official government gazettes. Cc: Do4luv14

Rufai truly should stick to animal Science. There is no mention of 20% in the gazetted version. The disputed section is section 41. You can see below You can also download the gazetted version here do a word search and verify for yourselves https://gazettes.africa/akn/ng/officialGazette/government-gazette/2025-06-26/117/eng@2025-06-26 https://fiscalreforms.ng/index.php/2025/09/06/the-official-gazette-2025-nigeria-tax-reform-acts/ EDIT: it is clear there are altered (fraudulent and illegal) versions of the gazette floating around. Rufai is right after all. This version looks like the authentic version signed into law. You can see this is a scanned hard copy and marked official release.

ebukal67x:Evidence of quacks appointed to positions they should never occupy, evidence of haphazard policy and possibly evidence of people just looking for money making schemes. The governments first priority IMHO is making sure Nigerians understand the highway code. People park in roundabouts, at junctions, trucks drive on the fast lane, drivers who aren’t overtaking not only hug the fast lane but many break down on the fast lane. The fact that the majority of Nigerian drivers do not know the highway code is a bigger danger to motorists and road safety than rickety cars. |
bunmioguns:Oga! Nobody is borrowing to pay salaries anymore. That is no longer something to brag about. It is not a reflection of a working governor that salaries are paid on time. It is a reflection of the removal of fuel and forex subsidies resulting in up to 3 times FAAC allocation than in previous era. So if you are bragging about paying salaries on time and not having to borrow, 1) place the credit for that where it belongs and 2) perhaps it’s a reflection of not much else to highlight? As for loans, not taking loans when your state is badly in need of development and you have increased revenue is a sign of a governor without vision. If you refuse to take loans to build infrastructure, you can be rest assured such a state will remain backwards. You can use your revenue to build one road at a time or you can use the same revenue used to build 3 or 4 roads simultaneously thus accelerating development and increasing future revenues. It’s all about vision or lack thereof. |
Burob:Do we have a comprehension problem here? |
aworatak:He who is bereft of reasoning is he who believes any side of any story without fact checking. Have you checked the gazetted law to see if the controversial claims are there? I have just checked the official gazette. There is no such provision regarding any 20% deposit in section 41 See below
|
san4P:Not in Nigeria with Nigerians. See what We are already doing to any new roads or infrastructure. If we are not dumping refuse, we are taking over lanes for street trading etc. |
@helinues Dapo isn’t seeking re-election in 2027, he should be able to secure his senate seat on his own despite Daniel and there really is nothing else for him politically. So it is not beyond the unusual for Dapo to back someone else despite Yayi being Tinubu’s anointed. After all Dapo supported Osinbajo against the Same Tinubu who made him governor. I hope he backs Odebiyi, he is a gentleman, with good pedigree. This is one time betrayal would be a good thing. |
helinues:Well there is ideal situation and there is the reality on ground. All things being equal I expect him to be governor and I expect him to be a disaster as a governor. Dapo may have other ideas. PS: when you say he should have switched, he wanted to switch during Amosun’s era (2019). Amosun sent him back to Lagos with his tail between his legs and backed Odebiyi. It was only after Dapo won that he was able to secure the ticket at the next cycle (2023). |
helinues:Note I said in the first post that I am not a fan of his…..just stating the politics, not whether he will be a good governor. Politically, he is popular in Ogun west, to understand why, you would have to ask Ogun west people. I don’t know what he does. I don’t like him, I don’t like the way he carries himself, I just have a negative feel about him. He gives me bad vibes. But without Ogun west, Dapo would not be governor and he played a major role in delivering Ogun West. |
helinues:He crossed over to contest Ogun gov Lagos gov had never been on the cards for him. The reason he remained a Lagos senator was because Amosun was not ready to entertain him in Ogun in any form. It’s only when Amosun left office that he was able to cross over. The senate seat was his reward for helping Dapo in 2019. Amosun never gave him the senate ticket. |
