Dazzay:Is this the same you wanting govt to get involved in the killings in the SE? Dazzay:You people speak with both sides of your mouth! Today you want Biafra, tommorow you want to be indigines of Lagos. Today you support Kanu, tommorow you want govt to rescue your region from the Kanu and his mob. Today govt should not get involved in peace, tommorow they should get involved. In any event this is a local solution nothing to do with Tinubu but all your life problems are caused by Tinubu. |
yarimo:Point of correction, “the mob”. I’m no fan of adeyanju but this just vindicates him. I don’t think a man with 900k followers cares about 1k . It’s less than 0.11% of his followers unfollowed him. Again it shows how deluded Obidients are. Not even up to half of 1 percent and they talk like they speak for everybody. |
owobokiri:You are the one talking mumbo jumbo. Lagos state whether military or civilian was developed with Lagos state resources. The federal resources that were deployed to Lagos have been listed above. If you have nothing else to say besides parrot your expansionist agenda. Blocked |
SarkinYarki:The Abraham Adesanya to Epe has nothing to do with the federal govt talk less Umahi. It was awarded and reconstruction had started long before Umahi even thought he would be a minister. Like I said, you young people would benefit of you took a minute to fact check before you post. You are supposed to be the internet generation. In my time we had thirst for knowledge by it was hard to come by. To get info, one has to go to a library and physicallly comb through piles of books or resources. Today you have all the information at your beck and call and you don’t even have the initiative to utilize it? When people call you lazy youth you get annoyed!
|
SarkinYarki:Jesus wept! Lagos Epe was constructed by Jakande! Some of us were alive at the time when it was being built!
|
owobokiri:I The so called Lagos federal territory is Lagos island. Ikoyi, Victoria island, yaba, and Lagos island. What you call Lagos today (Epe, Lekki, oniru, surulere, badagry, Ikeja, isolo, ikorodu, badagry, agege and so on we’re never under federal Control. They were never called Lagos or part of Lagos. The were part of the Western region and developed by the western region. What was Lagos federal territory is only 8% of the land mass of Lagos state. All the industrial estates from ilupeju to isolo to Ikeja to Ogba to Apapa were all developed by Awolowo not by the Federal govt! Lekki express way was constructed by Jakande not federal! I can go on. MMA, 3rd mainland bridge, ikorodu road, the bridges connecting the island, the Apapa and tin can island ports, railway etc are federal, Festac, Ikoyi, Ikeja GRA. Besides that most of the development in Lagos was done by Awolowo or successive state govts. People have taken Lagos the small island that was the federal capital and ascribed Federal money to the state that. Was later created with the same name. They are not the same. |
SarkinYarki:It is not! It was constructed by jakande. Let me give you some advice for the future. When someone counters you, spend a minute to verify before you respond. Google is free. |
SarkinYarki:Lekki-Epe is a state road. |
I don’t trust the judgement or credibility of anyone who can look at Obi and think he is the man to lead Nigeria. The only people I excuse are the under 30s due to naivety of youth. That includes Adeyanju and this journalist. For anyone to have supported Obi, either now or previously. You are either don’t have good judgement or you are inherently dishonest and have an agenda. So for me plus Deji, plus Obi, plus journalist…all of them nonsense people. Same way I have no regard for Bwala, Reno, FFK and their likes even though they are now on Tinubu’s side. |
Bovis:It’s an ill advised action on his part. He will eventually withdraw the case. Personally, I think it’s just a tactic to reshape the news after the scandal of his son. Same with Peter Rufai visit. We shall revisit it at election time. |
Proudlyomonna:you don’t win elections by insults and propaganda. You win elections by having more people willing to vote for you than others. Peter obi is unacceptable to Nigerians and obidients are a turn off to Nigerians. Your posts is an example why. No group of supporters is as universally hated as the Obidients. Deji Adeyanju was right about one thing, obidients are a major reason Obi can never smell Aso rock.! Enjoy your weekend You are now Blocked |
Proudlyomonna:There is a limited number of gullible people in Nigeria. He captured all of them in 2023. If he was expanding his base instead of losing he wouldn’t be in coalition with the same people he called structure of criminality. |
Pompoma:everybody knows peter Obi. Adeyanju will not have any problems proving his case. evidence abounds. |
DesChyko:nobody wants to be a man who is ok if his wife has affairs or his only son is the way he is. Those are the worst tragedies that can befall a man. What are you working for if your family ends up like that? |
Pompoma:making yourself a nuiscance to get people to talk about you everyday is not a political strategy. i said it after the election that Obi would have been better keeping quiet and retaining the aura of a messiah. All his hugging the headlines has done is reveal his emptiness to the world. they say it is better to keep quiet and for people to think you a f..., that to talk and confirm it. Obi has done the latter. Tinubu that won election was not talking, tweeting, grabbing headlines or "talked about" every day, neither was Atiku who came second. if Obi contests today, he will get less votes than in 2023.
|
Skeyskey:Atiku doesn’t need outside frustration. He already frustrated himself out of the presidency. No northern governor is supporting him. It’s not his destiny! |
Reference:Thank you for your post. It is very rare to open one’s mentions and read a post based strictly on issues and anchored on intellectual foundations. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Unfortunately we have serious structural issues that can’t be overcome overnight. For example we have a generation of workers that are largely miseducated, poorly skilled and largely unemployable. We have a generation of graduates who cannot get the jobs the certificates say they are qualified for not because the jobs don’t exist but because their degrees are no good. On leadership, we also have structural issues where over time, the best have been discouraged from public service. I know what the civil service was in the 70s and 80s. The best went to work in the civil service. You graduated from Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge etc, you were heading for the civil service. The issue of Them being western programmed puppets is another matter but at least they were brilliant people. However in the late 80s and 90s, the even the best from our universities went abroad or to the private sector. The permanent secretaries and professors you see now are those who couldn’t get jobs in the private sector or abroad because they were not good or brilliant enough. The result is what is manifesting in all aspects of the country. Contrary to what many people think, a country is not run by politicians but by the civil service and can only be as good as the quality of the people manning the civil service. On jobs, jobs should be a priority of the govt. Every govt policy or major expenditure should be assessed by how many jobs it generates. As for purchasing it always astounds me that govt prices are always higher. Govt is a bulk purchaser, govt suppliers should come with a significant discount…..that is how it is done elsewhere. For instance if the govt is buying 1000 cars in a year (it will know from the pre budget requests from various ministries and agencies) It should have a standard approved range of models and a negotiated price at a discount for the year. This is how it is done, this is how it used to be. The proviso ofcourse is that suppliers get paid on time. It is only in Nigeria that a suppliers supplies to govt at above the retail price. It is only in Nigeria that there is no standardization in government approved for use products. This is the role of the BPP, to negotiate prices with approved suppliers every year so there is a standard price for govt purchases for everything from cars to airconditioners to pencils. I could go on as I know I have not touched in everything you mentioned but I am hungry and need my breakfast. I will just end by saying the Nigerian worker needs reeducation and reskilling and the culture of entitlement and miracles enabled by pastors needs to be checked! |
bixton:Blocked! A passport is not a right it is a privilege go and verify. Govt is not a travel agency. You simply confirmed by previous comments about a Nigerian workers and their low productivity and entitlement mentality |
iwaeda:Typical uninformed comment. Customs is under the ministry of finance, NPA was under transport ministry but now under ministry of blue economy. |
bixton:The problem with the Nigerian masses is they are poor educated, poorly skilled, lack good work ethic, too religious, lazy and most importantly have a sense of entitlement. If I can do something without employing a Nigerian I do. The average Nigerian worker generates more stress than any value or output they provide. Passport is N100k, if you can afford it fine, if not too bad, work harder. Argue with yourself on the rest. I am done here. |
bixton:Of what relevance is that? Every country bases its budget on projected revenue, whatever that source of revenue may be. In America, taxes are a major source of revenue, do you pay the same taxes as in America? Please note, oil has not been a major source of revenue for Nigeria for a long time now. Oil is only relevant to Nigeria because it is our major source of foreign exchange. Infact it has been surpassed by diaspora remittances, though that is likely to revert due to increased production. Oil is only about 15% of our economy believe it or not. Oil is important to Nigeria mainly for forex, oil is important to America mainly for cost of living and inflation. |
bixton:You are being emotional, I am giving you the reality. We live in a global world, the price of most products is the same all over the world, ex shipping and taxes.. If the international price of crude is say $70 a barrel. The market does not care if it costs you $10 to produce a barrel like in Saudi or $30-40 in Nigeria due to insecurity, corruption, theft, inefficiencies etc. Both will get $70 for their crude, Saudi will pocket $60, Nigeria will collect $30-40 and then share that with its JV partners because it did not invest in its production capabilities. So for every barrel of crude Saudi pockets $60 while Nigeria is lucky to get $15-20. You have a 1000ha field of rice or corn, A South African, American uses 1 machine and one trained skilled operator to plant, and harvest. The Nigerian uses 300 workers on the same acreage. The price of the corn or soya is the same on the international market. The wages of 1 American worker and 1 machine is shared amongst 300 Nigerian workers. That’s why the American worker is paid well and the Nigerian worker isn’t. Why is the Nigerian worker willing to work for such low wages? Because he hasn’t got the skills or the work ethic of the American worker. Like I said if it takes 5 people to do the work of one person, those 5 people will share the wages of 1 person. The reason why the 5 workers agree to be paid such is because they are poorly educated, lack skills, have poor work ethic etc. otherwise they would quit and get a better paying job. The reason why an able bodied man agrees to be paid peanuts to sit down all day tearing receipts in a supermarket is because he hasn’t got the education, skills, work ethic or innovation to get a better job. The reason why a supermarket employs him for such a mundane task is because that is his economic value. If he demands more he will be sacked because the employer will realise it is more economical to implement a technology based solution. Another good example are road sweepers. It is more efficient to deploy mechanical road sweepers but we employ humans because they are cheap, again they are cheap because they are unskilled. If they demand more, the local govt will sack them and employ machines. Are you seeing the pattern? You have no education, no skills, no work ethic, no innovation and you compare your standard of life to countries that are the opposite of you? That’s the harsh reality. A few years ago, I went to the furniture shop at mega plaza and ordered some furniture. It was a Friday and He gave me a date for production and delivery on Monday and I asked the Lebanese if they could hurry it up and get is ready earlier. He said left to him he would, his words were “but you know your people have to go to church”. That sums up the Nigerian worker. |
seanfer:I told people many months ago that no Northern politician with political ambitions will support Atiku in 2027. Now they are breaking cover. Now you know why no heavyweight northern politician has defected to ADC. I hope you also will also see why no Northern heavyweight will support Obi. It’s either they back Tinubu or they back Jonathan. For a heavyweight ambitious Northern politician the goal is 2031. In 2031, there will be no Atiku, no Obi, no Tinubu. No southern contender. All the possible obstacles will be removed in one fell swoop leaving the coast clear. Don’t be deceived by Bala Mohammed. If they can’t convince GEJ to run, he will work for Tinubu. He can’t afford to take the chance of waiting till 2035 with a fresh 2 term southern president and being out of office for 8 yrs before he runs. |
CLEVABOY:Perhaps you should show us the wrong and correct maps of Nigeria side by side because I don’t see what you are talking about. |
Solababa91:Compare your productivity to those countries and you will see why you can’t afford most things in Nigeria. For example, An average South African worker has an annual output 8 times that of a Nigerian worker. Yet the Nigerian wants to be at par with him. You spend all your time in church. Night vigil etc. Nigeria is the only country I know where it takes 4/5/6 people to do the job of 1 person. Nigeria is the only country I have been to where you employ someone all day to sit down and tear receipts at supermarket exits. When 6 people are doing the work of 1 person, those six people will share the wages of 1 person. All international passports are standardized, the machines that print them are all the same from the same companies like Delarue. The cost of production is almost the same. Delarue is not going to give Nigeria a discount on its printing machines or security papers used for passports because it takes 4 Nigerian workers to do the job it takes only 1 person elsewhere. The standard of living Nigerians moan about is a reflection of the poor level of productivity of a Nigerian worker. It takes 4-6 workers to perform the task of 1 worker elsewhere. Poor education, poor skills, poor work ethic, poor culture, low productivity. If you produce a product in Nigeria using 5 workers instead of 1 elsewhere, you can’t charge 5x the price because you have 5 workers or your products won’t sell. You are competing with countries who produce the same product with 1 worker….so the 5 workers will share the salary meant for 1 person elsewhere. That is why your standard of living is low! |
Neddyogu:you have answered your own question. they should send the person the money for his passport after all they know he/she is on minimum wage. ThatOndoBoi:its called an international passport for a reason but i dont blame you people. you can only be as intelligent as the system tyhat produces you. There is no where anywhere in the world where a passport is a mandatory means of identification required for a domestic transaction. The purpose of a passport is to identify you when you are outside the country where your normal domestic forms of identification are invalid. That it can be used domestically does not mean it is mandatory. I have added the definition of mandatory below because i know some of you will have chronic issues with the meaning of words. definition mandatory: required by law or mandate; compulsory. Sicklebear28:you are not south Africa, you dont have the productivity or output of South Africa. The output of the average South African worker is 8 times that of the average Nigerian worker and you are comparing yourself them? You are a citizen of a poor country dont compare yourself to people who arent on your level. know your level. if you are on minimum wage, you have no business affording to travel outside the country on your wage. its not your salary that provided you the money to travel, go to the same source and get the money for a passport. Passport is not an entitlement and govt is not a travel agency. Govt does not owe anyone international travel. if you can afford it or find the money for it fine but its not the govt's responsibility to factor in affordability of passport for someone on minimum wage. what next will you people demand govt pays for air flights and vacations for the poor? you are the only ones i am bothering to reply. the rest i have blocked and if any of you reply to me on this thread i will block you because it is pointless and to me just quoting me to be a nuiscance. we agree to disagree. pasport is not an entitlement of any Nigerian citizen. if you can afford iit via your salary or other sources, fine but govt has no business subsidizing a passport for anybody A passport is a priviledge not a right: fact check me. |
DUTY:Electronic transmission of results for the purposes of collation is exactly how rigging happens. Anyone who is advocating for such is planning to hack INEC servers and rig. as it is everybody has a copy of the result sheet. at every step along the way from ward to state to national, every party has the opportunity to challenge the result and raise any objections. With electronic collation, once you hack the server or the transmission and you are declared winner, it becomes a case of go to court. Electronic collation of results can never work and is not used anywhere that i know without issues of rigging...even in the US. to the many Nairalanders who have a problem with English and will flood my mention...electronic collation and transmission are 2 different things. |
hush15:It does not require you to bro f an international passport. Another case of Nigerians and poor English comprehension. A passport is merely one of the acceptable forms of identification. It is not mandatory ID at ANY bank. If any bank requires your passport it is likely a staff member just like you who doesn’t know what he is taking about. No bank can make such a rule in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. |
