kunle4toyeyaho:Oga don’t waste your energies with shalaye! Even if he turns the place into Dubai they will still complain and they won’t vote for him. |
SpatialKing:Many Nigerians speak but don’t understand English! We are reaping the results of decades of decay in the education system. |
How Kalu became deputy speaker is sue only to quota system. He should be a local government councilor at best! |
AMINDA:STFU! |
ideatoprince18:Dem no send wailers! They know what they want to do and they get on with it. |
This is too much. I don’t support this. Let him leave office before you name things after him. |
Follow who know road! |
Have you noticed the Nigerian opposition especially the obideeeeots always blame others for its problems? Lose election it’s INEC or judiciary not because you violated zoning and could not placate the disaffected and remain together in one party People are defecting and it’s because of the govt in power not because you can’t manage your party or your members have no faith in your leadership. You are jumping from party to party looking for which party to hijack and it’s INECs fault not because you had time but don’t want to do the work to form a party from scratch or the fundamental problem of “no gree for anybody” that plagued you in PDP is still in your DNA |
Maitunbi:Nothing like late bloomer or unlucky. you either have it or you dont. you were either raised right or you werent, you either have the right values or you dont, you either have the right attitude or you dont. You either have the qualities a man wants in a wife or you dont. The reason a woman is unmarried at 30+ and needs help to find a man is that the kind of men she is looking for have crossed paths with her in the 30+ years of her life and all have concluded that she doesnt have what they are looking for. No man sees a good woman and lets her go, if he is not in need of a wife he will have a good friend who does! The kind of things that a good man seeks in a wife are not the kind of things you can teach at 30 when charactyer, habits, mindset have already been formed. Those few women 30+ who are wifeable but for some reason are single dont need to be taught because they have the qualities and stand out amongst the single women of her age group. |
if you have to teach a woman of 30+ how to find a husband, it means she is fundamentally not wifeable! |
Governors now have more money for projects and development. These are the benefits of subsidy removal and forex rate harmonization. Ask your governor what is he doing with the increase in FAAC. I hear Bala Mohammed is not paying minimum wage! |
I have told you people from day1: there will be no coalition, the same reason they split their votes in 2023 is the same reason they will split their votes in 2027. Personal ambition! 1: Atiku did not come all this way at his age to step down. At his age that is the only thing keeping him alive. 2: They know Obi is incompetent they simply humor him because they know he has ibo votes 3: if the North does not trust the ibos with power certainly not an IPOB sympathizer 4: Obi knows if those in the North uncomfortable with Tinubu having 2 terms, will not let him become president and just want to use him as VP to get votes 5: Obi knows if he doesn’t become president now, his next chance is 2039. |
This comparison is informative but at the same time pointless. It is for the same reason the cost of producing a barrel of crude is between $2 and $6 in Saudi but $40 in Nigeria. It is for the same reason it takes 6 people in Nigeria to do the job of 1 person elsewhere. Nigeria is a very inefficient and unproductive economy, things cost more than they should for too many reasons and it’s not always corruption or inflation of contracts though that is a given. We have security challenges, we have host community challenges, amongst many. As an example, the same people who stand to benefit from a road are the ones who will sabotage or delay or demand mines before allowing the contract or workers to go ahead. In Nigeria we measure the true cost of a road by it’s completion and durability. Many roads have been allocated funds and never constructed, many have been constructed but washed away in no time. |
SonofElElyonRet:check it yourself nah! gbas gbos since morning! |

How can APGA lose a gubernatorial election in Anambra? |
flokii:There has never been a united north. It is a myth! That is why they have never won an election without colllaborators in the south despite having more numbers than the south. The North has always had distinct blocks and ideologically different politically , 1) the NW sokoto/kaduna block NPC, NPN, PDP, 2) the Kano block Aminu Kano, kwakwasinya etc, PRP, NNPP and 3) the north east or Borno block GNPP, ANPP. Traditionally they have never voted the same way. It is only of recent where there is no political ideology thag the lines have become a bit blurred. One reason the NW block has prevailed is because they have always managed to co-opt the middle belt and when southern alliances are needed they traditionally turn to the SE/SS but recently the SW. Politically when people say “the North”, what they really mean whether the realise it or not is the NW. in reality their power comes from control or alliances with old middle belt and old eastern regions and it’s remnants today not because they have the strength in the North. The so called “North” is in practicality primarily principal actors from the NW. |
ghettowriter:you people are now seeing what we told you ages ago......the opposition will crumble for the same reason they split in 2023. They are only after their own interests. Atiku is looking to be president, Obi wants to be president, Amaechi is looking to see if he will be put forward as a president or Vp, ElRufai is looking for a scenario where he can be VP. who is going for fund the party, will any existing party allow them to take over their structures and relegate existing members? At the end of the day it will crumble. |
uvie66:Exactly what I am saying! Sometimes you have a good idea but you are too early. Not enough electric cars + no stable grid supply. It’s not stopping some people from trying to set up ev charging points now based on emotion and not their heads but they will fail. They will just end up being the sacrificial lambs. |
The problem with Afenifere is that they are largely remnants of people who once controlled the SW politics but whose political careers Tinubu ended. There still exists a lot of bitterness. |
Rubyjade:May ignorance not kill you. Dstv uses a different infrastructure from Iroko TV. Iroko is a streaming platform which means it uses data not satellite transmission. At the time he launched, we didn’t the data infrastructure to support streaming. Secondly his business model require remote online payment platforms which only became possible in the last few years. DSTV had physical offices where you could go to pay your subscription. By the time these facilities (data and online payment) became available 2 things happened 1) the big boys (Netflix etc) saw the opportunity and moved in and 2) he had probably run out of money and could not compete and likely had no unique content or even the funds to advertise….Have you ever seen an Iroko TV advert? Also some of these ideas are only viable if you can capture the masses, the masses can’t afford it, I keep saying that the elite are not that many! After 30+yrs in the country, DSTV has only 2m subscribers in a country of 200m people! Around the time Iroko started DSTV had only about 50k subscribers but they could push ahead because they didn’t have much infrastructure/ overhead costs. Like I said all they had to do was beam their existing satelite to Nigeria and sell dishes and decoders. Their content and infrastructure was already paid for by their SA operations. Nigeria was more of less low risk incremental revenue with minimal investment. I was in England at the time he launched and I knew he was going to fail! There are some ideas some of us who have lived abroad think we can transport to Nigeria and we get so blinded with emotion and optimism, we don’t realize Nigeria isn’t ready for it. A good example is EV charging stations. It is a good idea and it will eventually become a norm in Nigeria but I can guarantee you that the early adopters will fail. And the person or people who will succeed are those who come in later when the timing is right! So to answer your question, the infrastucture existed for DSTV. In fact the road could not have been any easier for DSTV. They simply beam the same existing content they had in South Africa to Nigeria, till date they can’t be bothered to remove South African adverts. All they had to do was sell you a dish. It might shock you that abroad dishes and decoders are free! |
He was too early, Nigeria did not have the infrastructure for his project when he launched. Simple! |
Like it or not Wike is PDP! |
christejames:Lucky the apprentice dancer! |
persius555:I didn’t hear and it certainly did not gain any media traction. If it is NNPC, even my driver will know. |
Wait O! So Dangote had unplanned outage for a month, nobody heard, it took a report from a foreign agency for us to know. PH Refinery shut down for maintenance and it’s a crime that sets the whole world ablaze. That useless sychophant energy expert MR Kelvin did not think he should mention in his numerous interviews over the last month that Dangote was shut down? |
Sheuns:I am not defending any politician and I on the side of truth and facts. |
Sheuns:In that case you should have enough common sense to know that people make slips of tongue and our journalists these. Days are notorious for quack reporting. Many of them are only journalists because they can’t get a better job. Either way your common sense should have kicked in. It’s like reading a story or headline for instance claiming we are to spend $1T on a project. You don’t need any brain power to know it is an error and it is either N1TNaira or $1B! |
surgical:We know that when Tinubu assumed office, 97% of our income was being used to service debt leaving only 3% to fund government activities. We were borrowing to pay subsidies, we were borrowing to pay salaries, we had less than $3b in reserves. Oil production was about 1m bpd and of that about 300k barrels had been sold forward. It’s understandable being emotional and angry but all I ask if you can kindly tell us how you expected him or any incoming president to fund the government and the petrol subsidies or how the hardship could have been avoided. Simple question! |
Sheuns:Please show us where Tinubu said it has dropped to 40%! He may have said it had dropped by 40% and like most Nigerians who speak English but really don’t understand English (including the fuuuul in England who thinks he understands English better than an Englishman and challenged him to a competition) who you failed the comprehend and understand the difference between “to 40%” and “by 40%”. A drop “of” 40% from 97% is consistent with a “drop to”. below 60%. People like Onanuga went to school when you couldn’t pass English talk leas become a journalist in less you truly understood English. |
