PoliticsRe: What Will Happen If FG Gifts Every Nigerian 1m Each?? by casualobserver1: 12:18am On Jun 21, 2018
showafrica:
Lol, meant to say 2e14, I think 200trn in such a way each person gets 1m Naira each. They can even limit it to adults which are about 100m. Let me modify the first post.
Alright. That would almost certainly bankrupt the country. The 1m will be worthless as the CBN that issued it would no longer exist or be credible due to bankruptcy.

Hyperinflation and general chaos would set in.

Just been curious, Nigeria is about 200m in Population count. What will happen if FG decides to share 200 million Naira among Nigerians. 200m is chicken change where the FG is but what is difficult to this atleast put smile on our faces. Some will say inflation but I don't think so. I see a happy and united Nigeria after the sharing.
200m shared to 200m Nigerians means everybody will get 1 naira.

200b shared to Nigerians means everybody will get 1k.

So he is an Honorable? I was not aware of this. Was he in House of Reps or stare House of Assembly?

The rumor I heard was that he was a strong Abacha supporter and relocated out of Nigeria after Abacha died.

You still do NOT get it. sad I am not saying that such people cannot be arrested, but before the arrest can be made, their diplomatic status must have been revoked, or their passports cancelled. Are you sure this was not done before Bemba was arrested? shocked Do you know the high-level manoeuvres that go on behind the scene before such people can be arrested?

Sometimes, their arrest are even set up by their enemies, from within the borders of their home country. undecided They might know they cannot arrest such a person back home because he is powerful, so they wait until he travels abroad, and then notify the authorities over there. High level international politics dey happen, o! No be play.shocked
I believe this thing you said is what happened to Charles Taylor.

The one I'm laughing most about is Tambuwal. Remember Eco2580 who received APC promotion in Sokoto state and was saluting APC and his dedication to the party.....

https://www.nairaland.com/4525315/nairalander-been-elected-state-organising

... he doesn't even know the Sultan of Sokoto is against Buhari and Tambuwal himself may leave APC.

Another paid pawn, who tomorrow will attack that same APC he used to defend as unstoppable and infallible.. once his paymasters update him on their plans.
Oga abeg don't be angry. I don't follow politics in the North. Would you please tell me why the Sultan of Sokoto will be against Buhari?

Eco2580:
With gratitude to almighty God & deep sense of humility, I am pleased to inform you that I have been elected as STATE ORGANISING SECRETARY of APC Sokoto State Headquarters.
Words aint enough to express appreciation to my Bosses, Family & Friends.
My special gratitude goes to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR (Mutawallen Sokoto).

Bashar Isah Jabo

Congratulations. It is always good to see younger people getting involved in politics. We need a generational shift in Nigeria and everytime a young person comes on board that is one step towards that shift.

Please try to be mindful that so many hopes are riding on you. Millions of young people need hope and whatever the party you are in, that hope is on your shoulders.

God will see you through.

If rumors that Gov. Tambuwal is planning to go for president is true please secure website for him and start marketing him.

Doing something like that can increase your standing within the campaign and encourage politicians to bring more youth on board.

That is the only advice I have, but I will support you in my own way through prayers. Good luck.

I will never forget. ....I was in love. Girl called, crying....house rent ish, school ish this that. In an act of benevolence did what most caring guys would do. Sent her N500,000. Guess what happened.

" I advice you to go and think about your life " she said.

I have witnessed the brutality and wickedness of Nigerian women. Witchcraft, n.a. dem. Evil, materialistic yet without the physical attributes. Theses negative traits are not found in women of developed world.
Oga SSGN. I hail Sir.

I was very shocked and saddened to read that you have experienced something so painful.

I pray that you find someone that is truly fit for you that you can be happy with. Relationships can be so good, but when they go wrong, especially when one party is so wicked and heartless, it can be terrible.

I see the work you put into quality content here and I always follow your posts. Please don't let something like this discourage you.
PoliticsRe: What’s Going On Between The Nigerian Army And Nigerian Air Force ? by casualobserver1: 7:05am On May 22, 2018
This interservice rivalry is one of the reasons that I favor the approach of the Canadians when it comes to defense.

The Canadians have the Canadian Forces, with army, Navy and air groups all under one banner. This approach might be seen as strange, but just that fact that they are under the same banner does a lot to build deeper cameraderie.

I'm sure my suggestion might upset some people, but I think that we should look into merging Army, Navy and Air Force into a single Nigerian Defense Force like the Canadians have.

Such a merger will take a decade at least, but we will definitely reap gains as the time and effort spent fighting amongst the different branches will be reduced over time.

It is good that he is contesting. We need credible people in government and he fits the bill. Even if he doesn't win, he might build more exposure and be given a parastatal to head. Imagine someone like this being made Minister of Finance.

Funny people everywhere
This seems to be the MO of these politicians. Sometimes I don't even blame them. Politics is expensive and the Nigerian electorate do not contribute to party running costs and campaign expenses so any politician that wants to be successful must resort to this kind of "jankara" politics.

Building an aircraft is one thing, mass producing them is another thing entirely. In the space of two years 60 Air Beetle was delivered to the Nigerian Air Force. Locally built, the price was low enough to afford the Nigerian Air Force acquiring a total of 60 aircraft. Nigeria would have been an aircraft exporting country by now.
Some of these things are just heartbreaking. Embraer from Brazil there is producing and exporting private jets that our politicians buy and the Super Tucano we are buying now.

It really is a tragedy.

ashjay001:
This same Saraki, that is pushing for d presidency oshocked
I don't like his brand or politics but the fact is that Saraki politics is a product of Kwara State. Until they wise up anybody that takes over will mess them up.

Gov. Lawal that tried for the people what happened to him? They gave him red card and nothing happened. A lot of the time, people get the leadership they deserve.
PoliticsRe: Kwara: The State Of My State (1) by casualobserver1: 3:44am On Apr 28, 2018
The simple reality is that the Saraki family that hold sway in Kwara will never allow that stake make progress.

The Saraki family, backed by the local chiefs and Islamic clerics have created a cult of personality that keeps the state firmly in the hands of Saraki. Because Saraki has such electoral security, he sees no need to invest anything tangible into infrastructure or any projects.

He knows that the clerics and traditional rulers will still deliver elections to his political machine so he will rather pay them 10% of the treasury, use 10% on some projects here and there, and pocket the remaining 80%.

Until the people of Kwara vote out the Saraki clique, he will never change. Even one defeat electorally will make him sit up.

I agree with you. we are surrounded by our killers. Even the common insecticides and for the less privileged who burn mosquito coils, a lot of these deaths are by our own doing.
Unfortunately, I don't see naija tackling these issues until it is evident that there is no escape for us all (including them)
That is the problem. Nobody in National Assembly is talking about this. No big man is sponsoring air and water pollution studies and all the so-called professors are just awarding degrees to people with half baked projects that don't impact anything.

https://www.cnn.com/2016/05/31/africa/nigeria-cities-pollution/

PM 10 is known to lead to heart disease and ling cancer. So Amy industries just pour out wastewater into gutters and nobody checks to see what they are pouring.

It is a shame. We are seeing birth defects at higher levels and people are not even asking why. These politicians are just not paying any attention. Too bad.

Not all attacks are spiritual. There are a lot of these diseases around that people don't take notes of. The man could be hypertensive and something somewhere in his system may have gone wrong to trigger a sudden collapse, especially when he wasn't showing any signs. Have you noticed that even the common men are having kidney related issues more now? Only few people recognize the importance of taking enough fluids, consuming less salt and not doing things that overworks the kidney. And back to the so called politicians (our perceived big men) who consume a lot of junks and poison in the name of ENJOYING LIFE while doing little or no exercise except bedMATICS with side chicks. And sometimes, someone who was able to recognize that his body system needs rest (time away from demands of being in politics) will not yield simply because of his greed.
Just my opinion anyways
One of the things that will shock Nigerians to the bone will be the day results of air and ground water pollution are released. The level of heavy metals and other persistent organic pollutants will cause heart attacks for so many people.

There are no environmental standards for heavy metal and Persistent Organic Pollutants and with the rate Nigerians have turned to using powerful pesticides like Sniper for home fumigation, there is no way people won't end up with cancer and kidney failure.

How can Atiku with his resources employ (that is if he employed these guys) such uncouth people to handle outreach? It is disheartening.

This is not a fake 'change' charade or gimmick bro. Atiku is not about propaganda like some fake change agents. He means business. He is a successful businessman who has experience under his belt. He has too much money to want to loot like some longerthroat past leaders. You will be alive to witness all the goodies he will deliver after he is sworn in next year. Go and write it down.
How will he achieve restructuring when the National Assembly is stacked with Northerners that will never vote for such bill?

Which one is matching grant again? Where is the constitutional basis for it. The Constitution stipulates how revenue is to be shared, and I am not aware of matching grants being a stated part of the revenue sharing formula.

This is what they will use to nail Dino. When he was warned about supporting Bello he did not know. Now he is incriminating himself with the same Mohammed Audu whose father's mandate he worked against.

Mohammed is not being treated this way. That one will simply cooperate and save his skin and leave Dino to hang. Bad investment

AnonyNymous:
I believe Nigeria was in huge debt at the time.
The debt was large but still manageable especially given the upward trend in oil prices. Investing that kind of money into infrastructure would have given a return on investment that would have been higher than the interest on that loan.

I have always suspected that OBJ paid that loan because he wanted to have something he could point to as a legacy. Back then, many papers and think-tanks said that the debt payment was one of the largest transfers of wealth from Africa to Europe given the fact that it was done all at once.

OBJ goofed big-time. Imagine if we had built railway to like them Benue and Taraba states to Ibaka Sea Port since 2006. We would have been exporting agricultural products to the world market for 12 years by now.

Or if they had built transmission grid. We won't be struggling with 7000 phantom megawatts at this stage. OBJ lacked vision and he sold us out. Atiku should have taken over in 2003 and helped us out the old generals out of power for good.

Thanks for posting these pictures. Such a rail line will really benefit Abeokuta. Once people can take train from there to Lagos, we will see more people leave Lagos and settle in Abeokuta.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Rail Masterplan In One Pic Buhari Style by casualobserver1: 12:29pm On Apr 25, 2018
This project is long overdue. If OBJ had done this instead of giving USD 30B to Paris Club, we would have gained more.

I hope that they deliver this because the increase in trade will really benefit us. Imagine being able to ship agricultural products by high speed rail.
