Good one. I've seen only a few similar cases which were mainly construction managers with 55points and 8+yrs experience. Yours is unique; 2.8yrs. There's no need to worry. 15days waiting for approval is not unusual. You'd receive approval in due course. Best wishes. Yeeshas: |

Mate, good thing is that you're motivated to improve your points via English. With 55 independent points, your chances are slim for NSW. This is because NSW happens to be one of the, if not the only, states that sponsor or nominate a large number of occupations. Also, the state prides herself with having numerous job opportunities and high pay rate. Consequently, 190 NSW is very competitive. And as Mctowel always say, those Asians (Indians in particular) have got no chill. Average waiting period? No current trend for 55 pointers. I submitted my EOI for 190 NSW last October and even forgot about it until the news of my occupation no longer eligible for state nomination. That's 6 months already I'd say. Depending on your occupation, your chances become significant from 65 points up. There are a lot of candidates (Indians) with 65 and 70 independent skilled points yet to receive NSW nomination. I've concluded that even if you tell them to present 100 points, they would gather it somehow. Mind blowing! You'd think they don't need state nomination with such high points, but they're forced to go through that pathway due to pro rata and exhausted ceilings. Immitracker can give you an insight. Accounting, IT and software professionals fall in this category. Finally, it's a good move to submit the EOI and start the count. You may even be lucky come July when the system resets. But don't relent in your efforts to improve your score via English as that's by far the easiest, fastest and surest route. Alphadoor: 1 Like |

There's no definitely here mate. I'm certain of at least 16 occupations on the MLTSSOL that are restricted from applying to 190. Such occupations are not on the STSOL or on the combined list. An example is Chemical Engineer. They're indicated with ** on the list. Cheers Alphadoor: 3 Likes |

The new list is a bit confusing. You need to thoroughly go through every details before concluding. As an example, there's a combined list of eligible occupations; if that's the first list you look at, you may not find your occupation. This doesn't mean your occupation has been removed, but may have some restrictions. The only way to know if your occupation has been removed is if it's listed in the removed occupations list. If your occupation is not in the list of removed occupations, there's absolutely no need to worry. You just might not be eligible for state nomination (190) or the 457 visa. However, you can still apply for 189, 485 or 489 depending on your case. Best wishes. 2 Likes |

Tricky one. For Nigerian mobile numbers, 0 (zero) will do; while for land lines it varies with states e.g. 01 for Lagos and 084 for Port Harcourt. So, I use the format below to fill such +234 (0) 803 xyz xxxx corresponding to country code (area code) and number mctowel01: |

Hi Taofiq, I'm not really clear what exactly your inquiry was about; "any address and future date?". If you meant is it compulsory to have an address in Australia, then NO it's not as most of us didn't provide any. Also, if you meant your planned travel date, then it's best to say a date between 3 - 10 months from the date of application. You don't have to travel on the stated date. The time frame stated above is realistic enough to account for the time required to process your application, and also within the visa validity period which would be maximum of 1 year from the date of your medical assessment or police clearance whichever comes first. Cheers. Taofiq01: |

Thanks for the advice. But I guess it served its purpose. Also, with the many new monikers now posting here, no doubt the life history was indeed more helpful than we thought. And yes, we're only guiding our interests here as the continuity of this thread is of utmost importance for ongoing and prospective migrants. I've directed many to this thread who have contacted me after being charged exorbitant fees by Migration Agents. And they've gone through the process with ease. Thanks to the free selfless services here. I'm afraid there are so many "needs" for that "oga at the top". glowithdan: 1 Like |

I'm confused here, and since no one has picked this out, I'll need clarification. How is the work experience as a Maintenance man (not engineer) 10 points with a Degree qualification? I'd think EA will recognise the experience only if it's at a professional Engineer level? And TRA will accredit the experience only if supported with a technical or trade degree? Could someone please clarify this? 4uabiodun: penitential: |

If you do it during the weekend, you can always edit it immediately. I said weekend because with 70 points, you may receive state invitation within hours. So, you wanna be careful. OzyMigrant: 1 Like |

IMO, there's no need for all this. I'm sure I've read a number of posts from @nkechima asking for help on this forum, with even @mamajaz pleading on her behalf. All to no avail. If someone agreed to help and gave a rate, she has the right to bargain or refuse. And from what I could see, she was already considering it and happy with the rate until she got a better rate. @cuteannie and many others have gone through similar difficulties to source AUD. I think the main concern was the authenticity as raised by @Bellong. Beside that, I don't see how the rate should be an issue. My reason for commenting is so that we don't be too critical and abusive that people won't be willing to help in the future. I recall Bellong made a decision to stop helping out with FX due to being abused by someone he helped. No need for the maths or definitions. In this case I think to only help will be getting the AUD. You should be aware that there are many people on this thread who are currently in AUstralia, but none offered to help. I'm not even familiar with the moniker that replied to help; i doubt he's active here, maybe a passerby. Thus, the need to take extreme caution. Most people here are thinking "relocation, resettlement or migration". So, they may hardly need Naira, which is even risky to have due to its volatility. And I guess one of the motivations for those willing to help might be the high rate, beside having something to do back home. 4 Likes 1 Share |

In my opinion, you should apply for REMARK since all you need is 0.5. There are many who have achieved their target scores after remark. However, you MUST be convinced that you performed well in your writing during the test. The remark is NOT meant to give out free or extra marks, but for quality control where there has been an oversight from the marker. A concern, as earlier raised here, maybe the waiting period of about 8 weeks. But I'm not sure I've read anywhere that you can't resit the test if you apply for remark. Your IELTS skills look good, so I won't be quick to advise you on an alternate testing system. Buddie14: |

chebyshev: Enter your Test Report Form Number (TRFN) in the English Language competency result reference section. You'll find your TRFN at the bottom left of your official Score Report or Result from IELTS. Your TRFN is NOT your candidate number but comprises it. |

Hello, Well said. I'm in Melbourne if you wanna connect. It's true that the Nigerian population here is low, but if you're eager to connect with Nigerians, then your best place is a nearby Nigerian church if you're a Christian (best choice is Redeem in Kensington) or Mosque if you're a Muslim. To the best of my knowledge, those are the best places to meet Nigerians here, lol. For the CDR, I know a Mechanical Engineer with a CDR that has received positive outcome, I may connect you to him to make the request yourself. He's also in Melbourne. He's been on this forum in the past, but hasn't visited recently. For Job, you just need to apply to as many as you can, and be patient. It'll eventually come within a month. I reckon few employers are a bit hesitant to recruit newcomers. You can also check the thread "Where are Nigerians in Australia", there's someone there who assisted another in getting an instant job in construction. Regards. 4mula22: 1 Like |

Good one @Franksuccess Keep up the good work. However, your response seems like you're completely discarding the contributions of others. Well, we can only offer the assistance we can. I'm not in a position to refer someone. So, I can only advise according to my capacity. PS: CV and Cover Letter are VERY IMPORTANT for the majority of job seekers who don't have anyone to connect or refer them to a recruiter. 2 Likes |
