Evidence is immaterial.
What people say when they don't have any shred of evidence.
Just like princessebuka says that his god is immaterial.

I don't follow anyone, including my friends.
How is that a problem?

I am not looking for holes. You are creating them yourself.

You say he is one of your followers on Nairaland but you have no follower on your profile on nairaland. Is there a way to make followers invisible to others?
I should show you a screenshot of my followers too?
You can see who I'm following, not my followers. Followers are private.
You're not keeping up.

How did they recognise your catfishbilly moniker on whatsapp and telegram when monikers are not used during registration?
My friends know my nickname and they have my number which is linked to my WhatsApp and Telegram.

Now it's a friend? What a slippery slide you are on.

So of all the posts and threads on this website somehow this "friend" happened upon yours. Not that he just saw this thread of yours but he was also A FRIEND who saw it. What are the chances of that happening?

There are over 3million topics on this website and all those topics are on various areas but somehow he came straight to the religious section and straight to your topic.

Do you actually believe yourself now??
Because the thread was brought to the front page, the guy's one of my follwers on Nairaland here.
Keep on looking for holes, I'm here to debunk all of them.

No need to be bitter. It's the way I know atheists always end up when they are caught. They become bitter and start attacking the person.
I'm not bitter, I'm just saying it as it is.
What exactly do you want? I should show you screenshots of the discussion?

You mean your atheist colleagues right?

Are you also catfishbilly on facebook? On twitter? On whatsapp? On telegram?

How did they recognise your moniker on whatsapp or telegram since you claimed that was where it went viral?

Telegram and whatsapp are number registered and not letters.

So you are clearly lying now.
Since you're finding it difficult to understand it, let me help you.
A friend saw a thread by catfishbilly, brought it to a Telegram and whatsapp group that I'm a member, and posted it there, people read it, and came back to that same group to talk about it.
Get it now?

That your thread was on the 11th of February and not last year.

Why tell these lies?

Why could you not post extracts of their comments as proof of your viral claim to buttress your thread. So I should just take your word for it?
Oops, my bad. I wanted to type Last month.
You're now asking for proof?
When you made claims of your qualifications and you were asked for proof, did you offer any?
Take my word for it, the way I took your word for it that you're a surgeon/Paramedic/traumasurgeon/Orthopedician

You are not making any sense. You just said your colleagues supported your position but it did not change their faith. Below was your comment.

CatfishBilly:

Well, when I made that thread, it went "viral" amongst my colleagues who recognized the my moniker and testimonies were shared about how prayers failed their patients too. But they still chose to believe in god despite the fact, So, it's applicable.

Your position which I just showed you with your quote below

"I'm yet to see a single case where prayers changed the Patient's fortunes. If I see one, trust me, I'll post it here."

Speaks of a certitude and here you are saying it's your position yet in the first quote of yours here you said the words in bold text. So can I say you are not sure of they never stood by you but you alleged they did?
How is it difficult for you to understand when I've clearly described where I was talking about my own personal experience and when I was talking about my colleagues'?

Your reference was to your alleged "viral" thread where you declared that PRAYERS DO NOT WORK and you told Dr 90210 kind of stories to buttress that.

Did you not say Prayers do not work?

Assuming you never said prayers "never" worked it would mean 2 things.

1) you are not sure of your comment of prayers not working (so why make that declaration in an alleged "viral" post.

2. You are playing to the gallery .

This is an extract from that thread below. Words in gold penned by your own hands.

"I'm yet to see a single case where prayers changed the Patient's fortunes. If I see one, trust me, I'll post it here."

Why then did you just lie that you NEVER said PRAYER NEVER WORKS?
I was talking about myself in that thread. Talking about my colleagues however, I didn't say that they reportes anything like "Prayers never helped their patients"

I just did a quick sweep of the thread in question where you said it went viral and your "colleagues " (implying fellow doctors) confirmed your stories.

I am sorry but you do realise that you exaggerated a tad bit.

All I saw were fellow atheists and not fellow colleagues (doctors) who confirmed your theory. Plus I also saw others who also said prayers did work. What would you make of their claims?

Would you ask for proof of their claims since you didn't offer any of yours?

Would you call their claims trash since it did not agree with your stories?
So, is a story going viral only restricted to Nairaland?
A thread can't be discussed on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, BBM and Telegram?

If people claimed that prayers were answered, good for them. I'm not believing in any supernatural method that can't work better than chance though.

How people tend to view their prayers be it answered or not SHOULD be your concern if there was an unequivocal fact of unanswered prayers then that would make your claim and one of your steps to atheism absolute am I correct?

Lies . Doctors affirm to the efficacy of prayers .

The doctors I know are very religious . Plus Every time a story validating the belief in spirits and afterlife show up on daily mail UK , top comments are from mainly medical practitioners who attest to the veracity of the stories because they share these uncanny experiences with their patients .
I don't care about your anecdotes. Prayers have been put to test, by the Templeton foundation no less and it came up short. You can process that information anyhow you see fit.

Deists reject miracles , prayers and other supernatural occurrences and they acknowledge the existence of God . Please find another excuse abeg .

Are those philosophers who accepted and also deduced the existence of God also bereft of intelligence?
In my own view, I don't think so, but that was what your buddy princessebuka implied.

You are an acclaimed doctor and arrived at your atheism due to what you said were "unanswered prayers" in your hospital (yes I read it in your writings). Can you say this statement holds true IN ALL HOSPITALS worldwide?
Unanswered prayers for patients was a small part of the reason why I became an atheist.
How people tend to view their unanswered prayers is up to them, but I'm definitely not following a practice that it's success average is no better than chance.

No! You stop for not even applying a little thinking ability.

Yes I am in the UK and I actually am interested in what goes on in the world so I read A LOT! which is more than I can say for you.

So you have no clue at the stability of solar power due to solar power forecasts? How ignorant are you really from a scale of 1 to 10.

Your country Nigeria has just began her foray into nuclear power generation and you think they are not interested in diversified and stable power? You are indeed ignorant.

Cable is free. Distribution is not!

Distribution is dependant also on a digital box or dongle and those are already being supplied FOR FREE to remote locations.

Facebook livestreaming isnt for the remote locations (since you do not think) I only put it there so you can see the numerous ways media is being transmitted these days. THINK MAN THINK!

By the way those who you say wouldn't be bothered do not need to be forced to have them. As long as the human mind remains inquisitive, one day they would ask a simple question like WHAT IS THAT? When told they would further ask HOW DOES IT WORK? Then they would be shown.

Believe me when I say THEY WOULD LOVE IT AND WANT IT ESPECIALLY SINCE ITS SOMETHING THAT FASCINATES THEM!

THINK MAN THINK AND THINK SOME MORE?!
As usual, the whole point flew over your head.
You just created a strawman and attacked it ferociously.
This is exhausting. I'll stop now. Thanks for your time.

I am amazed at how "Nigerian" atheists arrive at their conclusions despite damning evidence being placed before them. You guys really shame the atheist community when It comes to intellect.

One of the pioneer projects of TBN (Trinity broadcasting network) is ensuring that remote communities gain access to cable television FOR FREE. Even if it means 10 people have to share one or they have a general viewing centre and they are aggressively pushing it and it's already yielding results.

If here in UK we can have free to air cable channels you think they wouldn't have same in other areas of the world?

Much Electricity isn't needed to power television sets especially with their low power usage. That is why solar power initiatives are everywhere and targeting the remote settlements. Last time I checked, solar power is stable thanks to solar power forecasts.

Time zones shouldn't be your concern when we already have worldwide telephone coverage. I can pick up the phone and call a relative or friend in Antarctica or for the face book addicts, livestream it there and wake them up to view with me even if they are at 2am where they are and I at 7am here.

Everything needed to make the process and event seamless and super effective is already available.

All you guys now need to do IS SIMPLY THINK. That's all and it shouldn't be as hard as you lot are portraying especially with the lack lustre arguments you keep projecting.
So, you just sit in your home in the UK and make inferences about the most remote communities on planet Earth? undecided undecided

TBN is offering cable TV for free? How many rural communities have they covered? Can you give a percentage?
Nigeria doesn't have free cable TV ( that shiiiit is expensive) unless you get it by illegal means and you still pay for it, so I don't see any reason why people living on less than $2 a day would be bothered about cable TV

Solar power? You have absolutely no clue. God. I don't even know how to address that point.

Why would Jesus be so dependent on fallible human technology for his second coming?

He would be like "I'm coming today" then boom, Niger Delta Avengers vandalize a pipeline and Nigeria is thrown into darkness for a week then Jesus has to postpone his coming back for another week?

So were Africans until civilisation came to them. smiley

They do not need "rehabilitation " they are not animals or imprisoned! All they need is understanding and the rest would be accepted WILLINGLY by them. Change comes faster when people are willing.

In the online news report I posted earlier they initially rejected Mr Pandit, the director of the Anthropological Survey of India but he had to patiently learn and observe what they liked and he patiently kept leaving them gifts on the shore until they realised he meant them no harm.

Now they accept him and everyone else with him WILLINGLY! Below are further extracts:

"Permanent isolation isn't practical,' he said. 'They're surrounded by 200,000 people living in these islands"

Another

"Mr Pandit recounted in a report: 'Sometimes they would turn their backs to us and sit on their haunches as if to defecate. This was meant to insult us and to say we were not welcome.'

Unruffled, the anthropologists kept dropping gifts on the island, and the Sentinelese progressively grew less hostile and more playful. They love coconuts, which do not grow on North Sentinel.

Finally, on 4 January 1991, Mr Pandit and his colleagues were met on the beach by a party of 28 men, women and children, for once unarmed. 'They may not have chiefs, but a decision had obviously been taken by the Sentinelese to be friendly towards us,' Mr Pandit said. 'We still don't know how or why."

So my TV theory will work cheesy cheesy

Don't tell me you still deny the obvious even after that report smiley

Your argument and positing is bland to say the least.
So, what you're saying in essence is that Jesus won't come until the whole world knows how to operate a television/have access to a television, have stable electricity supply to power the said television, can afford cable TV to power the said TV, so that they can see him coming down in his glory simultaneously at the same time? Not minding the different time zones?

So who put a time frame to when they would have access to a television?

Fact is that THEY WOULD ALL (without exception) RECEIVE EXTERNAL INFLUENCE. These "lost" tribes are all found in the middle of already civilised people or countries so how hard would it be for them to receive access to satellite television especially since the radio waves are already available and all they need is a television and a translation device (antenna)
Do you know the amount of rehabilitation it would take before they fit in? Society is way more advanced than their wildest imaginations.
Some of them actively reject external influence and their governments respect that.
So, it's possible that though they've been discovered, they won't be forced to join the larger society, they'll be allowed to continue their hunter gatherer lifestyle so your TV theory won't work.

Again this is proof of how callow you guys reason.

Since people are searching for these lost tribes and already have some documentation on them, how did they arrive at these documentation if they had not contacted them or at least tried and are still trying.

As long as their are lost tribes out there and people are interested in them, CONTACT WILL BE MADE (if not immediately, EVENTUALLY)

CHANGE THEY SAY IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS CONSTANT! Am I wrong?

You lot are way too easy!
They came in contact with them doesn't mean that they'll have access to cable TV next week.
And no one denies that they won't be contacted.

I have my own questions for you.

1. Are prayers offered only and always in the face of medical incompetence?

2. Are you an incompetent doctor?

3. Who can assess the competence of a doctor when that person is likely medically ignorant?

1) Nope, prayers can be offered both in the face of an incompetent and a competent doctor.

2) I don't think I'm an incompetent doctor. I've not been sued yet, never faced a disciplinary committee, never been told so by a patient/patient relative.

3) Competence of a doctor can only be determined by his/her colleagues

So, can you now answer mine?
