@poster

here is an excerpt from an email

"Your business can be successful.  However, there are lots of obstacles there, not the least of which is all the cash required. Security costs are very high, and you must factor in a nice chunk of change for theft. It can be done, but you will have to grow a thick skin, and a few more sets of eyes."

Sometimes this section is a battle field of different religions and beliefs that show hate towards who doesnt believe the same as them

I wish we could just get over our differences in religion and just be kind to one another. After all in all religions, no matter which one you believe in or follow - all teach about LOVE and none of them say to be hateful.

Notice, we never pray for folks we gossip about, and we never gossip about the folk for whom we pray! For prayer is a great deterrent.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the divine. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity. Facially deformed people can still be vain about their abilities while not being vain in their appearance.

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Pretty self explanatory and we have all been guilty of wanting what someone else has at least once in our lives.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. This is not limited to food. The guy that downloads enough music to fill four Ipods is just as gluttonous as the woman that insists on diamonds and gold for every occasion.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. Doesn't require a partner and even a virgin can fall prey to lust.

Wrath is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Anger. Flip someone off in traffic, slam the phone down on a telemarketer, swear when the car runs out of gas, its all a function of anger.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness. Ever wanted to tin a lottery, even for a moment? Hello, Greed!

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. You can be themost diligent worker at your job, but if you never take a moment of introspection then you are a spiritual Sloth. (the narator said this one is the worst of all) However, Christians are told no sin is greater than the other.

Check out how Muslim view these sins. Interesting

1. Lust, Islam consider acting upon lust is sin. Lust can be source of sin but not sin itself. If a person fulfill lust from his wife, it can't be sin.
2. Gluttony : It is a sin, but not a major sin.
3. Greed itself is not a major, greed is an attitude which may result in sin. Greed of good things, like greed of God's pleasure, Greed of paradise is positive aspect of greed
4. Sloth: Again, it is a bad attitude towards life. It can result in sin.
5. Wrath, good wrath is good and bad wrath is bad. If wrath is against evil and satan it is good.
6. Envy: Not good,
7. Pride is Ok if it is limited to expression of thanking God. Otherwise it is a major sin. Pride is exclusive right God

Cayon takes the mic from Stillwater with a million dollar smile
Softly playing in the background was Otis Redding song "I've got dreams to remember.  Cayon is singing Otis Redding song. . . . .oops realizing she can't sing. . . . . . lyrics starts flowing in poetry style. She looks at him with the eyes of a camera

*******

"Honey I saw you there last night
Another womans arms holding you tight
I know you said she was just a friend
But I saw her kiss you again and again
These eyes of mine, they don't fool me
Why did she hold you so tenderly?"

As Cayon get ready to leave - he grabs the mic and start singing

I still want you to stay
I still love you anyway
I still don't want you to ever leave
Cayon, you just satisfy me

Resolved.  basically someone put a virus (trojan) on two of the computers.  We had a tech from Staples to our house and he explained everything.  Hmm.  Looks like someone broke in and was tracking us (all who were using the computers)  It cost us USD$310.10 and USD$226.48 for him to clean, reinstall phishing, firwewall etc both computers.  There were kids and students using these computers - luckyly they were not paying bills on these computers (i think) oh yea, plus 69.99 Diagnostic fee for each computer and 100.00 for the tec to come to our house . a total of USD$776.56 shocked shocked shocked

There are pros and cons for each of these sins (Christians/Muslims - sometimes they include athiest).  So basically, we are damned if we do and damned if we don't when it comes to these sins.  In fact tonight at 8pm and 9pm there is a rebroadcast on sloth and greed, respectively.  But what's so funny, there are some similarities (7 deadly sins) between Islam and Christianity  especially gluttony

Lust
Gluttony
Greed
Sloth
Wrath
Envy
Pride

~Lady~:

This is the problem when the scripture is misinterpreted. It causes division. If we are to be unequally yoked with a non-christian as you interpret it to be, then none of us should have friends that are non-christian.

Romance / Can You Control Who You Fall In Love With? by Cayon(f): 7:48pm On Dec 30, 2008
Would you agree with me if i say Love comes naturally regardless of age, colour or religious background

On this forum, I have seen almost everyone described love as a "feeling". So if love is a feeling then its quite natural you can't control love the same way you can't control happiness or sadness. Am i right or wrong?

What say you?

Well i want to "savor" every last minute with my family and friends before they leave, so I am off until lipsrsealed undecided undecided

Happy New Year to you and your family. May God Bless you abundantly in 2009

JeSoul:

Cayon I don't mean to be harsh but no serious-minded, God-devoted, Christ-centered christian would be asking these kinds of questions.
No you are not. You have every right to voice your opinion whether i agree or not. Much respect

One more General question: Seeing that we cannot control who to fall in love with (my opinion) Do you believe in this bible verse where the Bible encourages Christians to reach out to non-believers? If yes, can't Joe convince his girl to be a Christian rather than you blatanly say "you cannot be unequally "yoked".

This is my personal point of view. You know why, Jehovah witnesses, SDA, Muslims, Black Jews etc are growing rapidly? because they are out there "Seeking souls". They don't just quote a scripture and "walk off". They give you a verse and they "marinate" it with all the "spices and "seasoning" they have.

I find a lot of pentecostals, methodists, Catholics are just quoting scriptures not able to explain the pros and cons

No love lost

The Risk of Love

There is a risk involved in everything
Every time you share a smile
Every time you shed a tear
You are opening yourself up to hurt.

Some people tread slowly through life,
Avoiding the closeness risk brings,
Sidestepping the things they can not understand
Turning away from those who care too much-
Those who care stay too long,
Those who hold too tightly.

There is never an easy way to love
You cannot approach it cautiously
It will not wait for you to arm yourself.

It does not care if you turn away
It is everywhere, it is everything.
Love is the greatest of all risks.

It is not reliable, it is not cautious,
It is not sympathetic
It is unprejudiced and unmerciful.
It strikes the strongest of mind,
And brings them to their knees in one blow.

Even in the best of times, love hurts.
It hurts to need, it hurts to belong,
It hurts to be the other part of someone else,
Without either of your consent.

But, from the moment it overtakes you,
It hurts worse to be all alone.
The risk of love never depletes;
It grows stronger and more dangerous with time.
But, it is in the total surrender of all defense,
That we, no matter weak or strong,
No matter willing or captive,
No matter what, we truly experience love.

Despite the many things love is not,
Outweighing it all are the things that love is.
Love is surrender without a loss.
It is a gift without the cost.
It consumes your every thought and desire,
Every breath you take.
It is the fire that fuels you
To do more than pass through life;
It urges you, instead, to live.

No matter the outcome, having felt love,
You will never be the same.
It may scar your heart and soul
And leave you only memories of forever.
Or, it may cause every day of your life
To feel like there is no need for tomorrow.
But, love is worth it. It is worth the risk,

For in all of life,
Love is truly the only risk worth taking.

@poster and others
I think it would be bettter to post your own poems/articles, rather than posting others'.
If you want to share your favourite poems/articles, why not give us the link to read it directly?
Or better still specify the writer/author of each stuff you post So we can know which one is yours and not.
Am i making any sense?
