Religion / Re: Marriage Between Xtian & Muslim? by Cayon(f): 3:13am On Dec 30, 2008
JeSoul:

Joe, if you're truly a christian, then you must surely know that the bible says you cannot be unequally "yoked" with a non-christian?    A christian has no business marrying someone of another religion. You're only asking for trouble.
Based on the scripture, you are correct with what you say.  Question: Lets say Joe was marrying a Jew - what advice would you give? Just curious

lordjoe:

hi everyone, i'm joe a christain. There's this muslimgirl i love and want to marry. She love's me too but her parent don't want her to marry a christain because her dad is an alhaji. Please tell me what to do because i can't stand the sight of loing Risi to another man. cry
Hmm, tough choice eh??.

Y'all need to sit down and talk over certain things like:-

which religion will be respected in your wedding - Christian, Muslim or both?
If you plan to have a family - which religion is for your children
Will you go to her church and will she go to your Mosque.
And how to decorate your houses duriing religious holidays - just one, both or none.
If you guys fail to do so, it means there will be problems.

Personally i think its best to be in a relationship with someone whose religion match yours, so as you grow in your relationship, your faith can grow at the same time. The more things you have in common, the better a relationship can be.  saying this one of you have to convert either to Christianity or Muslim undecided

Good night and good luck

davidylan:

That's false. It simply shows the man is a pragmatist who is prepared to look well before he leaps. There are several things to consider when marrying a woman with kids that wont necessarily be a problem with a single female.

1. why is she singe? Divorced or widow?
2. if divorced . . . who was at fault?
3. what is the custody situation with the kids?
4. how much of her ex-husband is going to be a factor in her new marriage?
5. Family - how will they react?
6. Finances - are you ready to cope with 4 kids who arent yours financially?
7. Your wife from day 1 will be sharing you with other kids that you don't have an emotional connection with just yet.
8. are the kids going to be living with us? Who disciplines them?

Reality has to be faced when it comes to issues like this. Its not about limits on love. All these alice in wonderland tales of "love conquering all" does not exist in the real world.
LOL that's deep  shocked shocked grin grin You might as well hire a detective to investigate her.  Your list is real funny.  My Lord  sad sad  shocked shocked grin grin

I guess b/c I am talking from my experience. The second guy I dated had two kids and it didn't bother me. Yes, my g/f said the same thing about baggage. hey call me crazy, but when I was dating him I bought kids clothes.

Why the hell will I want to carry someone else's baggage? So am not willing to date a woman with kids, I am not a good man?
Are you joking?

Firstly, children are not baggage. they are a gift from God , why people consider this baggage is beyond me. No, that doesn't make you a bad guy but it shows that you have a limit on love. True love has no limits. Saying this if you love someone you should be willing to accept her with her baggage children. But then again, anyone who isn't willing to accept your children isn't right for you anyway. That's just my 2¢

Religion / Re: Jesus: Age 12-30 by Cayon(f): 10:05pm On Dec 29, 2008

Luke 2:51-52

51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.

52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men

Based on the two verses, sounds like Jesus was living a normal liife like anyone of us and learned his father's trade (carpentry) from his dad.

it seems as though, y'all want the Bible to say

verse 1 ANd Jesus saw a piece of wood
verse 2 Jesus hammered the nail
verse 3 Jesus got cut and was bleeding
verse 4 a piece of board fell on Jesus head (Mary and Joseph were laughing at him)

If the Bible depicted everything, I am sure we'll still be reading the Bible(like a never ending story)   God gave us wisdom and knowledge  so we can figure out what Jesus was doing between 12-30.  The problem is, some of us may know knowledge but doesn't have wisdom.

I guess both of you are hurting. I can tell you this much that it hurts to hurt someone else's feelings (been there done that) and that's why your g/f is not telling you how she feels. She is "protecting" you, not knowing she is hurting the relationship. based on your word love with the "ed" it's obvious that you are not in love with her anymore. If you're not in love anymore and you want to explore other relationships (which is quite obvious) then go for it. However, after reading the entire email it's evident you feel love for her, otherwise you wouldn't be feeling the way you feel right now and telling us about it.

Since the problem is not major (cheating) I think you both can work it out. you see, being "in love" and "loving" someone are two entirely different entities. Take her for lunch/dinner (ease the tension) and tell her not only you want to be her boy/f but her best friend too. She'll get the drift. If she doesn't take heed then the best thing for the both of you would be to break up

I've not been in a lot of relationships but know this: - all is fair in love and war" and "it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all." Do a splitville, and if you reunite somewhere down the road then it's meant to be. Hopefully she's not one of those coocoo who can't survive a break-up.

I wish I can talk to her and tell her to zip-it so the love can be rekindled because I know you still have feelings for her. . . . . . .right?.

Good Luck!!!

love eh - so painful yet we can't live without it.

My entire family love all the drinks you mentioned . , . .errr except me.

I'm iron deficiency anemic and on Iron tablets. One time i forgot to walk with my pills while on vac in London. You know what they did - everyday they gave me Guinness or Royal Stout with milk and egg to drink (Yuck) until i was back to NY.

However, back in the days when I was a "Rebel Without a Cause" I enjoyed drinking smirnoff ice
