Politics / Re: Governor Umahi Lays Foundation For 5,000 Houses For Less Privileged (Photos) by Cecero(m): 2:02pm On Jun 25, 2017
The Governor said government will provide only the land and not the money.
I have also tried to look up this ANDP people and my search did not come up with any reasonable thing. Their site is so scanty; nothing to tell us who they are and their source of funding.
They just said it's a NGO. An NGO that's going to go into this kind of gigantic project with no government funding?, In Ebonyi state where people don't have enough to eat let alone donate to NGOs and all of a sudden, it is going to happen at the Governor's village home? We are watching?
EFCC should help us watch o. Yeye dey smell o
Might be an avenue for money laundering if you ask me.

madam, I am a married man and I'll be brief and truthful to you.
Don't listen to all these trash about confessing to him so you'll be at peace. If my wife ever confesses such trash to me she'll pack and that's the end of the marriage. move on with your life abeg. time will heal every wound but save your marriage; don't go shattering the poor man's peace with such news. It's two years already since you committed the act and you want to start exhuming things that should be left buried. abeg get on with your life. poo happens some times.

OP, poor grammar. I didn't bother reading all.
And yes the Governor is doing great.
...restoring the battered and shattered image of the average Ebonyian. Never a better time to feel proud being an Ebonyian.

Indeed, when I travel to my village in Ishielu LGA via the Ezillo road which hitherto was a harbinger of death, I feel proud being an Ebonyian

when I drive through the beautiful and smooth roads of Abakaliki savouring the peace and splendour that your living fountains provide, I feel proud being an Ebonyian

when I go to the Abakaliki Township stadium for early morning exercise, its new found beauty and glamour standing out like a bride on her wedding day, I feel proud being an Ebonyian

Your three state of the art flyovers are the symbols of our triumphant entry to the comity of nations.

Thank you His Excellency
Thank you Ekubaraoha
Ebonyi is on the rise
Your people are happy

Politics / Re: Umahi's 2 Years Of Impactful Governance By Philip Nweze by Cecero(m): 9:19pm On May 22, 2017
OP after all these grammar you just cannot state in particular terms what your principal has achieved. When I read where you mentioned that you're limiting his achievements to three sectors I was hoping you'd start mentioning things he achieved in those sectors only for you to continue in a whole lot of sycophantic nonsense. I'm not criticising the governor. As a resident and indigene of Abakaliki, I actually give him a pass mark in maybe infrastructure. But I criticise you for a shallow work. Meanwhile, the workers in Ebonyi are groaning in pains. The governor cut their salaries by 50%. The rate of taxation is also unparalleled.
Romance / Re: Ladies, What's Your Take On Guys That Smoke? by Cecero(m): 10:57am On Apr 17, 2017
dabraska:

Very good write up bro but I think there's a mix up here. In your posts, responsibility is equated to hard work and sin. A smoker can be the most hardworking person on the planet, but it doesnt make him responsible as far as lifestyle is concerned.

Responsibility is setting a good example for others. The ability to know that you are leaving a footprint that others can follow. In your GMD's case, this is very worse and worrisome as other people will think it's alright to smoke and excel. Not understanding that people's body systems are different. Someone who wants to be like your GMD can take up smoking and his body may not be able to withstand the issues that come with it. Complications can start very early in his life.

What is bad is bad.

I don't think I have equated anything here. Perhaps you're the one trying so hard to do the equation. All what I'm seeing here amounts to nothing but mundane grapevine. Nobody has come up with any statistics to substantiate that smokers are irresponsible. I have only tried to draw up a sample of persons who have distinguished themselves even though they're smokers.
Just as I mentioned that there is no correlation between being a smoker and being irresponsible, there is also no correlation between being hard working and being a smoker.
Anybody who takes to smoking just because a GMD is a smoker and he excelled is nothing but a narrow minded simpleton. I only used it as an instance to show that there is no causality between the two variables mentioned.

Romance / Re: Ladies, What's Your Take On Guys That Smoke? by Cecero(m): 9:41am On Apr 17, 2017
It is pure shortsightedness to think guys who smoke are irresponsible. There's no justification for that whatsoever. Its just a habit like every other normal habit.
I am a banker and my BM who is already an accomplished banker is a chain smoker. He smokes cigarettes like it's food, but I can never imagine him as being irresponsible. He is a deputy manager. It takes a whole lot of hard work and responsibility to get to that level. Infact, I heard that my GMD CEO is also a chain smoker too. I'd be utterly irresponsible to imagine that such people holding such exalted posts are irresponsible. They certainly couldn't have gone that far if they are irresponsible. Maybe Obama too is irresponsible since he is a smoker.
Sister just change your orientation. You'd be surprised that that your boy friend you love so much is also a smoker but only hides it from you maybe out of respect. So what happens the day you discover? You discard him as being irresponsible? Certainly not it. There's no correlation at all dear sister. Years ago when I was much younger, I went to confession (I'm a Catholic). What was my sin? I smoked. The priest(may his soul rest in peace) is white. He simply advised me that smoking is not a sin. That I should just be mindful of my health while at it. My point, smoking does not equate to being irresponsible in any way.

Romance / Re: I'm I Qualified To Get Married Or Not? by Cecero(m): 9:23am On Nov 01, 2016
lovelygurl:

I totally disagree with number 1. Most of those that he ought to have married b4 30 will already be married . No young girl will want to marry a guy @35 when she is only 25. Those cases are raaaare or he goes for a lady who is either divorced or I don't know. Besides who wants to be paying school fees at age 60

Sister you said your own mind buy you are totally wrong. Girls younger than the age marry guys older than the age you stated and yes for genuine love, not money.
Romance / Re: I'm I Qualified To Get Married Or Not? by Cecero(m): 1:26am On Nov 01, 2016
Guy the best advice for you is to shun that marriage for now. You probably are not planning to travel abroad with the young wife and yet who do you want to keep her here for? You are young bro and worse still going back to school. You may not be making a sound judgement going into uni already with a baggage. You are definitely going to meet a lot of beautiful creatures there and your mind might sway. Forget the love, I bet you'll fall into it a million times and you'll only have regrets and unsettled mind. Bro be free, you still have the time. Don't listen to these shitty about you being old enough, it might end in regrets. Go get the education and when you've sampled a lotta waists there, you may wish to pick one that meets your taste at the tail end of your course if you still gat the cash or leave it you finish and get job.
Crime / Uzoamaka Chukwu: Victim Of Brutality And Trauma. #justice4uzoamaka by Cecero(m): 9:56am On Aug 07, 2016
UZOAMAKA CHUKWU: VICTIM OF BRUTALITY AND TRAUMA. #justice4uzoamaka(copied)

(Please this story is as copied from the fb page of the Honourable member representing Ohaozara and Ivo federal constituency of Ebonyi State, Honourable Linus Abaa Okorie. I am bringing it to Nairn land hoping to give it the poblicity it deserves and to drum up support against this injustice. MODs kindly assist do the needful. Any injustice anywhere no matter how remote is an injustice to all. We are all Uzoamaka...)

Earlier today, I met one on one with Uzoamaka Chukwu, the unfortunate 15 year old JSS 2 student from Uburu in Ohaozara LGA of my constituency who was recently made "popular" by unknown persons who brutalized and dehumanized her through torture and defilement of her humanity. I met her on the invitation of her family who seek inquest into her sickening ordeal and also justice for her. I also insisted on hearing directly from her on the circumstances of her torture and public defilement. For if I must speak about it, I should do so on the strength of first hand information and a conviction that she is truly a victim.

Her story is heartrending and painful. And truly she is a victim of inhumanity and highhandedness of misplaced power/authority.

First, she is a 15 year old minor and wait for it...an ORPHAN! Her father died while she was only 4 in 2004 and her mother painfully followed suit two years later in 2006 when she was barely 6 years old. So she had no father to catch her in the immoral circumstance that was earlier reported. That story is on all scores a fabrication to deceive the public into antagonizing her to cover the tracks of her aggressors.

Two, her family is too poor to own that 'rich' apartment where she was tortured, molested and traumatized or the cars in the foreground of the premises. Indeed, she claims to know the owner of the house who she reports is the leader and master minder of her unfortunate ordeal. She remembers and positively identified more than four persons who participated in that show of inhumanity on her.

More disturbing of her revelations is the fact that TWO SERVING POLICEMEN were actively involved in this inhuman and illegal act of primitivity, along with a key political leader of her immediate environment. These two categories of public officers are those to whom one would have expected her to run if confronted with the circumstance as she suffered in their hands.

While condemning the grievous and indecent dehumanizationvthat was the torture and public unclading of Uzoamaka, one is more particularly alarmed by the mindless act of video recording the entire nauseating scene and posting online of such vile and murderous product by the same perpetrators.

Finally, I refuse to pronounce anyone guilty in this most inhuman criminality pending thorough investigation by security agencies, I however condemn it in the most strongest of terms.

I wish to assure the family who has approached me as their representative, and all well meaning persons, to assist them in ensuring that proper investigation is conducted into this matter to unravel the truth and to pursue justice for little Uzoamaka that I shall commit every energy available to me to ensure that this matter is not swept under any carpet and that no other child is made to suffer such indignity and inhumanity on any account. I invite all men and women of good will to support this cause. I am convinced that this is well within the mandate I bear and that I enjoy your support in this regard.

Finally, I appeal to the Inspector-General of Police as well as the Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State, Compol Peace Ibekwe Abdalla, to ensure that proper investigation is urgently conducted into this matter in order to bring all culprits to swift justice. I am going to remain vigilant on this matter and appeal to everyone else to do the same. This is about the humanity in us. It's not about Uzoamaka or whoever is involved in this debacle.

Phones / Unfair Charges And Exploitation By MTN by Cecero(m): 3:57pm On Oct 10, 2015
Please I have been a passive member on NL. So this is actually my first thread.
I am utterly displeased with MTN. I subscribed to one of the several MTN promos called 'CASH QUEST PROMO'. Subscribers are debited N100 daily with a promise of winning N10m if the draw favours you(lol, did I hear you say greedy guy cheesy). Well, my grouse is I have been on this since it started hoping and praying that it will favour me and have even planned what to do with the money when it comes grin. I have also religiously recharged to make sure they take their N100 daily subscription fee. Well after today's debit, I got curious and decided to call their customer care line to know when the promo will be ending/when they will do the draw. Lo and behold, the customer care lady that picked told me the promo had already ended sometime last month.
I honestly got annoyed because this promo ended and they never bothered to tell subscribers that it has ended. They also did not deem it fit to stop charging the ignorant and expectant subscribers the N100 daily subscription fee.
In the spirit of the International Customer Service week we are presently observing, I am bringing this up because I am an aggrieved customer. I also know that lots of ignorant customers are still being charged for a promo that has long ended. This is really unjust!
Moderators please help me move this to front page, who knows NCC might get to hear our cries from the injustice being unleashed by our task masters. This will not be the first time MTN will be deducting my money for no reason. We cannot continue to keep quiet. They should be compelled to refund our money and even pay compensation for raising our hopes unnecessarily.
Thank you NLders for your anticipated constructive contributions.

Besides, she's in 4th yr nursing now (its a 5 yr course) and am equally seeing it will be a wasted investment if I should let go of her at this stage. Our one time Principal = Bamanga
English Teacher in JSS1 = Plural cos of the way she corrected us on how it should be pronounced
English Teacher in SS2 = Mistoo
One woman that thought us Igbo Language = 'Quote me right', she comes to class only to tell stories and will always tell us 'quote me right'
Another English Teacher in SS3 was codenamed 'Uncle F' cos of the way he pronounces words like earth
My Government Teacher = Robocob, he was 2u tall and slim
My CRK Teacher = 'Times 2' he was the labour master and will always come to class to announce that if you fail to show up for manual labour it will be 'double double times 2'

In the university, I can only remember one time HOD who was nicknamed 'nwanyi ocha' cos he always jokes with every lady in class calling them 'nwanyi ocha' i.e. yellow lady, even the ones that are as dark as the night grin
There was also Prof Ukwu I. Ukwu who was codenamed 'Adam Smith' cos of his traditional gray beard
