Being a leader of a small opposition party does not make him the opposition leader. Northerners are now seeing that their game plan has backfired so now looking for whom to blame. Even the the parents that donate their daughters are blaming Jonathan. Obasanjo gives his suggestion just like other former heads of state and retired generals particularly from that region that Jonathan consults with but thinks it is his own view that must be taken. He wants the president to kill innocent people like he did in Odi and Zarki Biam.

The Nigerian army is not a boys scout as for you guys to start circulating the trash as not having enough equipments to defeat the ragtag boko haram. A strong mobile police unit fighting in unity will route them out in no time. A welll equiped military with the latest weapons can hardly make headway with just one saboteur within. So the strenght of Boko Haram lies with the constituency support they are getting and their military collaborators. Tell the ones you know that the path they have chosen is not the right one.

Here in Nigeria our leader is busy casting aspersions at the opposition because his reelection is more important than the lives lost daily. How did we get this low?

Of course his election and family are more important to him than the national interest. One day after the Nyanya bombing, he was on the campaign trail dancing on stage while dozens of families mourned their losses and the nation looked on horrified. Last month his sister passed away, and he cancelled a campaign for days to attend to that matter. Compare and contrast! We really don't matter to him.

The people that are asking why the giant of africa can not defeat BH should be told that it is because of the constituency support they get and their collaborators within the military. No reasonable person will blame the president if a father donates his 12 or 10 year old daughter to carry bomb for boko haram. over 40 people get killed in Chicago alone every month and no one insults or blames Obama. To defeat boko haram there has to be unity and coporation of everyone but when people do not coperate with the government with the hope that it will make the president look unelectable and help them get power back, then you think it is sensible to blame the president?

It may be that young as you are subtle words need to be repeated and explained. Malema is an opposition leader, but in parliament the 'leader of the opposition' is a position held by the second largest party in parliament! Moving on, I would like to show my support for the front line troops by ensuring they have everything they need to accomplish this national goal. I would also want to make sure that the security and defence budget is spent wisely, and all criminals who see the army as a way to steal from the nation are prosecuted to the fullest. Last year all the serving military chiefs got national honours, for accomplishing what exactly, I wonder? What is the incentive to excel if no matter your performance, you will still be honoured simply for occupying that position? The DSS should focus on terrorism and kidnapping and not persecuting the apc for the PDP's gain. President Jonathan has managed to make even northerners think he is using boko haram against them simply by demonstrating a lack of resolve to finish the issue. Even obasanjo has commented that initially Jonathan did not take the issue seriously. I'm sorry but Jonathan is beyond redemption to me.

Stage one load shedding was implemented on Friday for the first time this year when generators suddenly broke down, forcing the power giant to cut electricity without notice.


Eskom says it will run out of money to buy diesel by the middle of next month and it’s waiting for feedback from government on whether it will receive funds to keep the lights on.

The utility has been running open gas turbines extensively in the last few months to keep up with electricity demands but at the same time spending billions of rands to buy diesel to operate them.

Eskom’s Andrew Etzinger says by February, the parastatal will simply not have the money.

“If we are not able to secure the additional funding, it would mean quite a big risk of load shedding on an ongoing basis.”

A government meeting on the power supply issues and how to help Eskom will take place soon.

At the same time, energy experts and economists have warned a government bailout will not help Eskom in the long-term to deal with the electricity crisis.

The parastatal said it's expecting about R20 billion from government to help it continue buying diesel.


“The government has failed to come up with a credible and sustainable national energy policy and therefore it has placed extraordinary pressures on Eskom.”

On Monday, Eskom's financial woes remained firmly in the spotlight but there's no indication as to how or when government will assist.

Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene reportedly read the riot act to Eskom bosses, saying they must sort out their problems which are affecting the

Eskom spokesperson Andrew Etzinger says they are waiting for feedback from government on how they'll buy diesel when funds run out.

Eskom says while the power grid is stable, load shedding remains a risk this week.

It warned South Africans must be prepared for load shedding at all times.

The company, which supplies 95 percent of South Africa’s power supply, said the grid can change at any time.

Eskom has also been battling with ageing infrastructure and limited generating capacity.

Fact check! Julius Malema was the president of the ANC youth league until he was expelled by the party in 2012. He has set up his own party, so yes he can be described as an opposition leader. However your comments do not face the blunt truth that our reputation in foreign eyes has plummeted due to a highly visible lacklustre leader. Everyone is asking, why can't this so called giant of Africa handle the boko haram insurgency in double quick time. And of course south African newspapers have been full of the reports of the bishop's plane that was used in an illegal attempt to buy armaments, with cash. Not impressive at all.
