The law doesn't make sense because commercial sex work is essential to every society.Anyways, thanks for the clarification.

Vintaged:

That those houses/websites exists doesn't make it legal. Before you dispute his claim, you can do a simple search on the internet.

Find screenshots below of relevant portions of the law

Where did you get this info from? How can you say it is illegal to pay for sex in Canada?Aren't you aware that there many places that house commercial sex workers in various cities across Canada.

There are websites where people link up with prostitutes for sex.

Kindly stop making Canada look less attractive to fun lovers.

moneymagnetca:

In Canada, it is legal for sex workers to sell sex. However it is ILLEGAL to pay for sex and carries a maximum penalty of 5years if caught. If the sex worker is below 18years, penalty increases to a maximum of 10years.

Meanwhile, say bye bye to citizenship. So is it worth it?

You are right, nairaland is the go to platform for anything immigration. This forum helped me in so many ways when I was processing my relocation from Nigeria to Maple leaf land and since then I've become addicted to nairaland.

I have recommended it to many people asking me for info but most of them are too lazy to go through the numerous pages on here to equip themselves with the right info that is available for free.

This man just said the whole truth!! Cos so many Nigerians a devils!!! They would be abroad and would be telling you that life is better in Nigeria ...but the same people would never come back to Nigeria and stay o! I just don't know why some people just choose to evaluate their self worth on another man's Misery and suffering. Just look at Indians , they would do all they can to LEGALLY bring their fellow countrymen over to a more prosperous country!!! But some Nigerians would tell you it's not easy that they're suffering and you shouldn't come!!! Very wicked People!

You leave Abroad to come here for vacation and you choose to still maintain the same quality kind of life you live abroad and you expect it not to be expensive The joke is on you! You think good things come cheap? Some people here say they spend 2M in less than 2 months some say 6M .... So if you're matured in thinking and educated you would realise that you can definitely live on 500k naira even in 3 months vacation in Nigeria but it would certainly not be the kind of quality you're used to In abroad! Because I put it to you , when you have a taste of a good life and what it really means to live like a COMPLETE NORMAL HUMAN BEING , you would never wanna go back ... Abi no be this same Nigeria where people dey live and survive on less than $1 a day

Una go come back Una go see hotel room of 4k and 5k per day Una go shout Tufiakwa!! God forbid then run go carry hotel of 50k per day come here they shout say make we dey here say Nigeria dey expensive!!! I SWEAR TO GOD!!!! GOD WILL PUNISH ALL OF YOU!! SAYING TRASH!! YES MAKACHUKWU ALL OF YOU!!

Nigeria to see work na problem , oya you go see work for them to pay you na wahala!! Oya na you won start business where the Capital?? what of health care!!! Just 2 weeks ago I saw a poster of my Secondary school mate who needs 25M for kidnap transplant Omo I swear to God she's good as dead cos where she go see that kind money!! NOW I PUT IT TO YOU , WHERE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A WHITE MAN PUT UP POSTER FOR KIDNEY TREATMENT

My uncle was doing security in Nigeria with a meager salary I think 15k per month or so then he was doing 2 security Jobs , morning here , night in another place!! Just to make 30k per month!! So some years back he was lucky to go to the US for a conference na in in no come back ooo... He applied for asylum and after the whole back and forth in court , he got it now fast forward to this period , he has a house he bought ( 5 Bedroom Duplex or so ) he rented out 4 and stays in one... He has helped the family in so many ways , in 2019 he tried bringing 7 members of the family to the US for vacation he sent money for Our passport ( 30k times 7 ) sent money for B1/B2 visa for 7 persons ( 59,200 times 7 ) and was just praying we get the visa cos he was prepared to send both flight money and BTA for 7 of us... But it didn't pull through cos them deny all of us meeeen grin ... He's still making plans though ...Uncle God bless you sha

I don't care if you believe me and I don't give a daaaam I'm here to tell you that my uncle makes $2,000 ever week.... Someone that does 2 security work year in year out in Nigeria for Peanuts and takes that same spirit to the US you think he won't make it Una go go abroad begin dey form pepper dem gang instead make Una hustle legit Una go come come back begin dey tell us trash!!! GOD WILL PUNISH YOU ALL!!! telling us to stay here!!! After , you guys will start blaming Buhari so many of you here are worst!!

TO ALL THOSE TELLING US TO STAY BACK IN NIGERIA , GOD WILL PUNISH YOU!! ALL OF YOU!!

Every one knows US is a big brother to Canada including Canadian themselves.
Apart from Canada being more secure and more tolerant, the USA is ahead in all areas.

I don't like this kind of argument or talk especially considering that the 2 countries are far ahead of Nigeria. There is no pride as a Nigerian to be arguing over countries wey no be your own. This kind of talk is better for citizens of developed countries to slug it out.

I believe citizens of shithole countries like Nigeria should instead worry about how to catch up with these countries instead of disturbing the cyberspace on which is better.

Fried meat

We have plenty groundnut oil here so don't stress yourself bringing in groundnut oil. I don't think you will have problems getting past border officers with your dry fish and fried meat.

A better question would have been " how do couples who live apart cope with intimacy".

Well, lemme guess, you only asked about women because for men it's sure he'll get a mistress. As sure as anything.

For me, if any woman that calls herself 'wife' says she's travelling for job or scholarship, na automatic divorce be that. At least, it automatically means I'm getting another wife.

So are you saying a woman should not develop herself by going for more studies or relocating for a much better job? I'm sure you don't like our very own Ngozi Okonjo Iweala then.

FlackoJodye:
Hey y'all Good Evening or whatever it is in your perspective nations, I'm a Nigerian Immigrant here in the 6ix,been up here for a while now .Next month makes it a year.

I'M not the juiciest writer, what I say here wouldn't be so eye catching or fun but its honest pure fact.

I work for a IT firm and money has not been my worry for two years now (Glory to God) but I've not been really chanced to look for a partner cos of d nature of my Job,But for these pasts fouro months I've been a little bit more loose innit.

So to d topic, I've been searching for a partner to be with here in the 6ix,I've been with White girls,A Korean Chick but not a black Canadian or AA.

And we went along quite right but cultural differences played a huge role in undermining d relationship (the last one was d final straw). I got to decipher that maybe Nigerian Girls are the best for me and las las I got to settle down with one.

So therefore , I started hanging around Nigerians churches,Weddings yunno places where we can easily be ID. Gotten my few share of Nigerians Chicks here, They tend not to be the most beautiful girls a round here(But this is a thread for another nigga),but the issue I have with them is the attitude problem.

Yes I said it,NGA Chicks have terrible atitide here and I don't figure, there's this sense of high self esteem they have cos some of em where born in Canada or somewhat, or they live here now/or other reasons barely know to me .

Huge altitude Problem, and even if you're doing well there ,there's always this something extra they'll need, you can't satisfy them.and they hang around AAs a lot so they threaten to call police on you or Advance Divorce Threats (even when you're not married lol)

They tend to be bossy,Unnecessarily rude and manipulative, Very self centered and to crown it all .Always angry .

Don't know where we got it all wrong. I tell you .We should be doing this to ourselves in a foreign Land. The Biggest Problem here I've come to note is the Baby /Child Support stuff they do here. its real and although I know White people Started It but the way Nigerian women abuse the privelidge (I haven't experienced the trauma of this personally and don't wish to).

I shouldnt deviate but theres a big problem I tell you mate. Our sisters are always perturbed, I don't if I should use d word depressed or something but there's this thing always biting them Emotional or psychological that they refuse to share with their partner.

I had d roughest 2 months of my stay here in 6ix these last 2 Monthly cause of Nigerian chick,For d first time in my life I got arrested and Put in Cell.(Don't think I need to explain why to anybody)

So OGs in d house. Pls whats d move? , What Should I do . My Yoruba Co-worker suggested an East African Chick or some thing but I Havent really seen many of them here. I still believe I can get a level Headed Naija Chick but maybe not here, I thought about going back to Nigeria to find a gurl but ive heard and see stories. lol No no .

So pls any suggestions for a G.I'm 24 BTW.thanks in advanced God bless Y'all

What the hell do you mean calling Canada the "6ix"?Where did you learn it from?

The weird thing about this thread is that 99% of the guys here are in their face-me-I-face-you sheds in Ojuelegba typing rubbish and thirsting for things they will never have(white girls). The 'socalled' few abroad are either in Vietnam or India or somewhere remote also bashing Nigerian girls. Shame many of our men have condescended to this level. Honestly, from Nairaland posts, I can tell many Nigerian men suffer from extreme inferiority complex. You will think that their mothers and sisters are whites! No matter what you do, black men will continue to be at the lowest rung of the ladder....You are still a 'black monkey' to the average white man, unfortunately! Feel so ashamed reading some of these comments. I wonder how most black men married to whites truly feel. Imagine lying down next to your prized 'oyibo prized' wife and all she thinks in her heart is see this 'black monkey'. What a sad and condescending way to live your life. You will never be enough unfortunately. I have heard this conversations from white women themselves, who are married to black men. Imagine being ashamed to introduce you to family and the public. Unfortunately, white people generally are known to be polite no matter the situation and can hide what they truly think.....Black men that are supposed to be at the forefront of preserving heritage are willing to trade it for a morsel of bread today, just to impress your fellow blacks and villages people. Very sad.....lots of lost heritage! Shame

Don't be pissed off... I just said the truth and nothing but it! And before you come for me, I am very established where I am, not interested at all in lowlifes, especially those Nigerians living in their rat holes 'abroad'!
So glad ladies on nairaland ignore you people most times. Very few ladies here and lots of inferior men on nairaland

Stop making assumptions "Miss I have made it" Most of the comments on here are the facts and a mirror reflection of many things I've noticed since living in maple leaf land.Nairaland remains a very resourceful forum and a guide to many. These are facts from what people have experienced living in Canada,US etc Just because it doesn't say good things about Nigerian girls in the diaspora doesn't mean they're cooked up.

I can assure you that you would get same feedback some day when a close male friend of yours or possibly your brother emigrates to the west.

True.

Conversation when wooing or on a date with a Naija girl is so boring and annoying.

They are bad at it because they think showing they are tough, behaving condescendingly and not interested makes them attractive and be perceived as having high virtue.

And when corrected/given feedback, instead of accepting and correcting these behaviours, they would dismiss it in defiance and demonstrate that if a guy does not like it, he is free to piss off.

Naija guys with options soon learn to piss off and go to where market is good and there is great customer care.

Awesome . Spend your vacation in Nigeria if you're searching for a Naija partner. But this maybe difficult because vacation in Nigeria doesn't seem attractive after getting used to living in a sane society like Canada/US/UK them.

I won't blame the men though.

The System in most of those Advanced Countries favours Women and Minor Children over Men in Marriages or Relationships.

Exactly what I have found out.My boss recently told me that she sees no reason in people getting married these days, she told me how she tried to discourage her son from tieing the knots with his baby mama. Why bring the government into your love life when you can have it all and catch more fun.

In most cases the marriage thing destroys the romance, making it too serious. Na P Diddy way win am jare.

Dating African(Nigerians to be precise) is like an headache over here.. when I first got here, the first Nigerian lady I met, our conversation ended within minutes.

Girl : how long have you been here?
Me : less than a year
Girl : Do you have green card
Me : No
Girls stop responding grin

In the grocery store/Mall
Me: Hi, You look beautiful. Whats your name ?
AA : Thank you, that's wonderful sweet. My name is Tisha
Me: Can I have your number and call you sometime?
AA : Sure. There you go OR I'm sorry but I have a boyfriend.

The AAs are very straightforward in their conversation. They wont come to you with bills and other bullshit. They got their shit together.

Me : Whats up, whsts your plan for the tomorrow/weekend
Nigerian Girl: I dont have free time. I'm always busy.
Me : Oh, I'm thinking if we can hangout for a bit
Girl : Why?
Me : Nevermind

One thing is AA makes is very easy for Nigerian guys to ask them out. They are always friendly. Its either they like you or they don't.

Dating Nigerian girls will be like Lionlee, I told u about my bills, how much do u want to be helping me with monthly grin

The moment they get laid, they automatically assume you are in relationship.

Nigerian Girl : where are you? Look at the time. Do you know the last time you called me last? You just chatting me since 4hrs ago?

AA : What's up babe, i haven't heard from you and I guess you are busy. Carry on with your day. Text me when you can. Miss you.

The list is so unending.. The sweetest thing that can ever happen to you is to date an AA woman that is educated(At least Bachelor degree).

If i grew up here, i for sure know I will never get married. Me getting here opened my eye to marriage. Why get married when you can always get everything in a marriage with your partner without getting married?

I really feel for Single/Unmarried Nigerian girls here. I really do.

The one i met last was 37yrs. You clearly put on your dating app you are looking for something serious. You gave me your number. Response always slow, add me to whatsapp, You no gree! Send me some of your pictures, Na wahala saying she doesn't take pictures. Ask AA girls for pictures, you will see a mature response. After sending pictures they will tell you when the pics were taken and location.

Advice for my Nigerian girls? Have a white friend and AA as friend and learn from them grin

#OkBye

You covered every aspect of the topic and I like it that you ended your message with sound recommendations for the Naija bitches. The smart ones should grab these pieces of advise. They end up running back to Naija to woo guys still in Naija to marry them. The poor men they woo usually accept the offer so they could get a visa to the western world. I know many of them, sometimes the guys get here and still dump their ass.
