Ayatunde: Hello everyone, please I need help with visa application fee.
1. How much is it in naira? ( I'm paying 335CAD for myself and a child). 2. Which bank can I pay through? 3. Can I use naira account?
Note: I'm using the new portal.
Please help me ooo, great people. Thank you I paid same earlier this month but i paid 385 not 335. It was 182,875. Visa application is 150CAD each so 300 for you 2. Then Biometrics is 85CAD so 385. How come yours is 335? |

Faith550: I am using a canada ricc new portal to summit my application but my statement of account couldn't enter because of the quantities. What will I do? P Go to your bank and request for MBS (my bank started). Another thing, try to type your words in full so it doesn’t affect your SOP. Like summit is a different word all together but i guess you mean submit. |

Frankrobbn1: Why opt for a second degree and spend millions to pursue another 4 years course in Canada?. My suggestion is that you should apply for a diploma in practical nursing program (2 years), since you're passionate about having a nursing career. Apply this conceptual action I have given to you and thank me later
It will end in praise Can a friend of mine who is a registered nurse also apply for this Diploma in Practical nursing or what advice can you give? She is already a registered Nurse in Nigeria and still wants to stay within same field |

WarriBrandChic: LANDING GIST Thanks to everyone on this platform for making this journey a reality, all informations shared are truly appreciated.
LAGOS TO CALGARY
I flew KLM on the 20th with stopover at Amsterdam. Flight was for 10pm. Got to the airport 6pm and was done with check-in by 7pm. Documents checked were just intl passport, arrive CAN and covid vaccination card. Said my goodbyes to family around 8pm and proceeded to gate.
Boarded aircraft 9:50pm. Flight was smooth, was so tired so couldn't watch movies available. Just ate and slept. Food was just there, nothing special, can't even be compared to Emirates. Touched down AMS 30mins earlier than scheduled landing then had 6hrs+ layover.
At AMS, document check was only intl passport and arrive can receipt. Boarded the flight, continued my sleep, ate and binged watched movies. Again food wasn't all that, snacks was OK though. Flight was for 8hrs and landed safely at YYC.
Proceeded to the self service machine which was pretty straight forward then joined the short queue for immigration. Thankfully, it was just our flight that landed at the time so it wasn't so rowdy. Was my turn at immigration and only self service ticket, vaccination card and intl passport was requested. Was asked about food and cash and I declared all. Cash was above 10kUSD but it wasn't checked. For food, immigration wanted to be sure there was no milk/diary product or meat products. I declared Mt stock fish and spices but bag wasn't checked. For vaccine card, my name was written at the back and not front of the card (No thanks to the health worker that registered me in 9ja) so immigration was skeptical and requested I take a covid test on site. All this was done in 5mins or less.
Picked my bags and proceeded to another area to get study permit and boy the queue was long with just one officer readily present. PS, I was the only 9ja waiting for SP, 98% were indians. Waited 3hrs to get to my turn. I was asked for only intl passport and my Letter of Introduction from Ircc. When it was ready, I checked right there for mistakes on the SP but still missed a vital one, expiry date of permit.
I deferred admission and sent updated LOA when I received PPR but the TRV came with old LOA end date. I was going to get it sorted with SP at point of entry but forgot. PLEASE GURUS, KINDLY ADVISE ON HOW TO RECTIFY THIS.
After collecting my SP, proceeded to exit for the Covid on arrival test. Thank God it was a surface swab and not too deep in my nostrils because i have never been a fan of that test. I was done in 2mins+ because I pre-registered with switch health. Left the airport after this and proceeded to my Airbnb.
PLEASE I'M STILL SEARCHING FOR ACCOMMODATION IN NORTHWEST CALGARY, PREFERABLY VARSITY AND BRENTWOOD AREA. Been checking Facebook market place, rentfaster and kijiji. KINDLY CONTACT IF YOU CAN ASSIST. Thank you
Interesting to read, Congratulations. Please how do you declare things in your bag without it being checked? |

Pls I got admitted to the university of Regina and the agent my dad that’s contracted to do this from the start asked me what course I want and I said medicine. But when admission came out this is what I saw. The confusion right now is he said I should write SOP but right now I’m confused on what to write SOP on if I’m writing it on Premed or kinesiology and health studies. I finished secondary school last year and I’m 20 yrs old Your major is Premed... you are writing SOP for your major not faculty |

Is it impossible for one to get admission with such a low cgpa so I don’t waste my money on application fees any longer? Kindly advice. These are questions you ask the institution before applying for admission. Email them and ask if you can secure admission with such Cgpa. I disturbed Memorial for more than a month before I finally applied after i was sure I would get admitted and that was it, i got admitted. |

Ayatunde: Hi everyone, please I call on experienced people to help on this;
What explanation can I give for taking my 20months old toddler with me on a study permit while writing my SOP?
NOTE- I'm leaving my husband and two older children back home.
Thank you Do you need to explain to anyone why you are taking your own child who is a toddler along with you? It’s Nigerians that complicated things for themselves.. when they keep adding and doing what they weren’t asked to do... All this IRCC issues can’t be heard in other countries. Please Ma, your child is yours so it’s not their business as to why you are taking him or her.... file for the child in question, have enough money to show for the both of you and consent letter from hubby. No one would ask you why you had to take your child. |

Good morning All... So here is a list of food items you can comfortably take to Canada.
Cray fish (blend it to avoid poking)
Stock fish
Smoked fish
Powdered maggi (chicken flavor isn’t allowed but you can repack in a ziplock and name it spice... no shaa forget say na maggi when you wan use am)
Palm oil ( Freeze it for about a week before you travel, let it turn to stone so it won’t defrost easily)
Blended dry pepper ( Red ones or even Cameroon pepper)
Egusi, Osu, Okpei, Achi
Beans, Bean powder
Ogbono ( blend too, we want everything neatly packed and don’t forget to put names on them)
Dry Iru
Spices ( friedrice spice oh, jollof spice oh etc) Pepper soup spice.( trust me, you will need pepper soup alot, cold no be here)
Suya spice/Yaji ( If you grill chicken with yaji eh! You go chop finger, walahi)
Garri (packed in ziplock oh! Domestic carry sack like Mr Okoro)
Ground nut and Peanuts ( our Nigerian groundnut is on another level, you can’t get same taste in Canada... in plastic bottle oh)
Your favorite snacks that are not in Canada, pack them too. Na you go pay for extra luggage size.
Medication (Very important... there are no mosquitoes there but you fit still carry malaria drugs.. getting drugs over there isn’t as easy as walking into a pharmacy here..Get your paracetamol, flagyl, ibuprofen, vitamin C, your supplements etc
Aboniki balm ( Very important please, you won’t get hot balm over there and aboniki is sooo expensive there, get a pack or 2 if possible.
Ogi/ Akamu/ Pap (If you are a pap lover like me, mbok carry am go especially ginger pap..you can put in a ziplock and freeze to stone or NOT! Pap no dey quick spoil).
Ukpaka/ Ugba/ Oil bean ( If you still want your roasted plantain and yam feel over there, carry this along, you can just refrigerate and put in your bag the day you are traveling )
Vegetables ,Ugu/ Ewedu/ Bitter leaf ( Wash your bitter leaf to the point you want the bitter taste, put in a ziplock and freeze, slice your ugu after washing... allow to dry again like water never touched it and put inna ziplock.. pick your ewedu too and do like the ugu)
For the stubborn ones that must carry yam... slice it up, peel and cut in sizes then put in ziplock and leave in the fridge before you travel... yam can last up to 3 weeks even when stored this way, it will still be fresh any day you want to use it.
Okpa flour/Bambara nut ( I already said flour so don’t forget to grind it and name it)
Abacha
For my ladies, Don’t forget...
Relaxer
Pads ( Some of us have a particular one we are used to and don’t react to...so pack some with you before you get another one that will replace it over there... you wouldn’t want to start searching for a suitable pad the moment you get there.
Milk isn’t allowed but people take it in. Just repack in a ziplock and name it a different thing like bean flour, bambara powder, yam flour, rice flour/tuwo etc.. Just any powder that look like milk and please when they pick interest in your milk particularly, stand your ground without shaking and tell them it’s what you named it and not milk, go ahead and ask them to taste it if they want and ask them why you would want to take milk in when it’s not allowed... Like who gets this far and ends up wasting time because of milk. But if you will start shaking, kuku no carry milk.
NB: Every packed food item must be in Ziplock or transparent bag so it can be visible enough. There are other food items but these are the most common ones. From this list, you can have an idea of other things you can carry.
I don’t think seeds are allowed because they think you will plant them. No poultry products like chicken maggi and the rest, anything with chicken on it is a No even benny and mivina used to season chicken.. so pour content in a ziplock and name Spice M and Spice B.
Then your personal things shaa. Go with a Universal Adaptor oh, very important because their sockets isn’t same as ours so you don’t get stock incase your chargers don’t fit in.
Guys, don’t bother going with your Nigerian clipper, it can’t be used there or so i heard.
Thanks |
