Ok am getting it, what resources will still remain to the westerns according to the region, can you name the states that will or might be included from south south or south south will be purely out of us ?

does the splitting region starts from lagos west to the other west or ?

Yes, the president of benin and his people would still be in power but with an expanded senate and house of representative. while all senators and house of representative members in nigeria would retain their sit in the republic of Benin. So would all governors and state houses. fashola , akala, saraki ,gbenga daniel and others would still be governor. till the next election in the republic of benin.
The next election in benin republic is 2011 too, So fashola and others would remain till 2011.

Banky as I like to call him would still be in rep. They would agree to alter the house in benin to include them.
This is brilliant, But the budget will now be under benin huhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh how much do they have ?

They on the list of one of the 10th poorest countries in the world , Jesussssssssssssssssssssssssss, Everything has to be changed under the Benin , document and co, even names of things,

mr, nobody would miss the yorubas.

now , to get 2/3 in the senate. the western niger have 29 senators. You need 73-29= 44 senators more to make it happen.

the far north have 36 senators with 11 state and adamawa 12 state. They would agree , 44 senator minue 36= we need 8 senators to agree.

niger, plateau, nassarawa, taraba, benue, abuja, east kogi if we can get 1 senator each from this state we have 7 more.
8 -7 =1 we only need one more senator to agree and this can happen. And I know we can get 2 senator from niger state or another state from the 7 state.

we would get 73 senators to agree.

They use nigeria money in benin. And most can speak yoruba and don't worry if benin would agree, we know they would. Under ecowas law, which President Yar Adua is now the chairman, they are protected. The good thing is that president Yar adua is chairman, so he would make sure nothing happen to their goods and service.

Nothing would change. you do not have to move from lagos. you do not need passport or visa under ecowas agree to work and live, MTN , globacom, Zenith, oceania, redeemed , deeper life or other companies or services are in other countries too. so they would continue in nigeria and Benin. so
Then we will be under the leadership of the Benins , any chance for the yorubas in power or governmental positions in coming years ? But we will be more than the population presently in Benin, so what about their official systems ?

If you say things will still remain the same, so what about lagos ? Somehow things will change , my brother

The good thing is Yar adua is now the new chairman of Ecowas, so he can explain to other west africa state what we did.

JUNE 12 should be remembered by the north if they refuse to allow us to go. and if they agree they would have access to the sea and 83% of nigeria oil. and no yorubas too many problem.

I believe it would pass in the senate.
I wish for this but I just cant believe it yet, first will we have access to government and ruling in Benin ? their official language is French and what about their currency ? we also have to close the borders and what have the Huasas and Igbo investments in lagos and other states ?

The only erroneous omission in the scheme is the failure to include the northeast of Delta State, thus, from Agbor to Asaba, into Eastern Delta Republic. This omission is unacceptable.
This is all part of what they have to negotiate and debate about b4 final resolve of separation.

Good idea but let each group choose where they will like to settle to avoid a repetition of Nigeria all over again, where people were thrown together without being asked by white men and their Nigerian stooges at independence.
Thank you brother, yes it will be good for them to make a public debate on this issue so they can hear the decisions from people and the region.

Am just concern about the name still being Republic of Benin, wish it could change and also the Capital and the currency,

First of all, I never wrote no hate mail against hausas. I said you can not continue the killing.

Is life only about oil. Life is more than the oil in Nigeria. peace is more than money. So you want us to remain because of oil. Noway. japan, germany does not have oil.

What is the average yorubaman gaining from oil Nothing . is it the budget that they wrote that they excluded yoruba in it . That we are gaining from oil.

You can keep your oil . we would do well without oil. don't worry let get there first. Watch what God would do.

we would be know as benin citizen. is nigeria name native to us. benin is derive from benin city.
I dont hate any tribe either, just want a better solution that will benefit everybody cus the oil is and will be a problem if we dont act.

So my brother, according to the state listed and the mapping , it shows we will have some part of Niger Delta, which means we will have some oil in our region ?

Can you re-list the state that the westerners will have ?

Omo dem go miss Yorubas ooo, so where will be the capital city ? lagos or , cus lagos pass all of them for Africa oo

Igbo president can never solve the problem in Nigeria, our problem is not the tribe that rules but the system the president works on. Our system of governance is not workable. Until that is rectified we will remain stagnant irrespective of who the number citizen is.
Absolutely correct and thats why we either need revolution to change the whole system or we should just split Nigeria apart , mostly we westerners need to depart.

The simple fact is, Nigeria is not ONE, and can never be forced to be ONE, in order to enjoin a lasting solution to the current Nigeria's instabilities, Nigeria needs to be divided.

Therefore, we seek petition for the creation of the following countries out of Nigeria;

1. Arewa Republic consist of kano, jigawa,kebbi,sokoto, zamfara,borno, yobe,plateau,nassarawa,niger without borgu,Bauchi,gombe,katsina
2. Western Delta Republic consist of kwara, west kogi, ondo, oyo, osun, ekiti, ogun, edo, lagos, delta,
3. Eastern Delta Republic bayelsa, rivers, cross rivers, rivers, akwa ibom, anambra, ebonyi, ebugu, imo, abia, benue, taraba and east kogi.

My dear sis, I don't mean to personalise this but just that it is the basis of why we ALL seem to know what is wrong with our country yet we can't fix it.
FTR, I am doing my bit, and permit me to say a lot relative to my earnings, to lift people out of poverty but more importantly to change our orientation about what each one of us can do to make a difference.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step. And you need to see the source of any river to understand what little drops of water can do!
Here is a related response and thread.
I agree with you that we should try to make a change for Nigeria to be better so everybody can benefit instead of someone benefiting, This is what people should be talking about instead of saying Nigeria is better and they are doing fine where even policiticians and their family come abroad living the poor citizens there thinking Nigeria is good. , Na wa oo

No doubt, Nigeria is bulshit and only few that were able to live a pre-better life all because of rich or connected parent or somehow have luck to make it tru, na dem they make mouth, so how many people are opportuned to have this or how many people have this luck. 10% rich - 30% living better - 60% poverty and you call this a good country that Nigeria is doing fine ?, Chineke meeeeeeeee
PoliticsRe: Hardship In US. Forces Nigerians Home by Charlesmud(m): 1:44pm On Dec 19, 2008
I don't know why people just try to make themselves feel better.

Its very obvious that Nigeria is bulshit, Couple of you people that give examples are just lucky to have a better job or rich or connected parents so somehow you were able to make it through. How many people have this opportunity ? How many people have the people to help them have a better life ? You people just talk as if you dont understand the main thing.

more than 60% of Nigerians live below 1dollar a day and you said Nigeria is better cus one or 2 among you guys were opportuned to cross the line to a pre-better life ?, If anyone that has this opportunity in Nigeria is either from rich parents or have a degree combine with luck. So how many people have this ?

Where a cleaner's salary will be compared with a bank official in Nigeria and you said Nigeria is doing fine ? what about those who are not professionals in Nigeria ? they live in a very low life and you guys said Nigeria is ok ?
I don't have much to say, cus its a blind argument cus I see people are not admitting the truth cus they have the chance to have a job where-as it should be something for everybody instead of 10% rich and 30% living good and 60% in poverty. ,

professional in Nigeria are compared to cleaners abroad and you guys said Nigeria is fine, can you compare someone who is not a professional with a professional abroad ?, Na wa oo for Nigerians thinking they are doing fine (just 15%) cus of the little luck they have where its free and everybody have abroad.

Me no fancy this stupid Europe even with all this basic amenities for life.(my spirit and soul lives in Nigeria, some people cant understand but our spirit is different from them). You guys can check on net and you see they said Nigeria is the happiest country in the world, which means the way we relate to ourselfs is much more lovely than this whites with "I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE".

Finally we agree on something- well almost. Every society has some kind of class system and I'd agree that the class you have called professional are probably better off in Nigeria but we can't hold them responsible for the problems of the rest of society except they are part of the Nigerian corrupt political system. Believe it or not a lot of young professionals in Nigeria achieved it through hardwork well in school and Uni for those that don't believe office work is hardwork. There are more than 10 of them sha, thank God for that.
And so far what have this 10 got in return ? if not poverty or low class life,

This corruption and unfair ruling is so terrible and the government is not even making anything to make the economy and its citizens better, Its this people Niger deltas that even suffer the most being the fact they even exploit the oil from their region.

Nigerians are not saying or doing anything for them which is so bad, then let them split out and take their oil so atleast all this politicians wey dey go for government post just cus of oil money, their eyes go come down and find something else to do instead of stealing the money and not doing anything at all.

Its bad and I am a yoruba but I support, make we just depart once and for all since Nigerians are not making any movement to kill this bastards government people wey we get.

The level of illiteracy and the simplicity of their arguments towards the country as well as a blatant unwillingness to acknowledge or foresee anything positive happening int the country.

Half of Nigeria are uneducated people seeking green card, that is the problem not the Government. The Government after all stems from the population.

Fellow Nigerians, i want to believe that 'most' of the members of this site are of my generation(in the 20s and 30s),and therefore are old enough to see things for what the really are. We are the future of our nation, whether you know it or not. There has never been a problem without a solution, at least to my knowledge. The subject is "What Can Nigerians Do To Make Nigeria Great?", so please people let's stick to the subject and contribute positively. I apologise in advance for those of you that find this condescending, that is truly not my aim. I'm sure that every Nigerian using this medium has pledged to Nigeria at a point in his/her life to be "FAITHFUL, LOYAL AND HONEST", so please people lets be fruitful and share ideas that would make us better individuals and hence make Nigeria bettter.
What i think Nigerians should do to make Nigeria great is first and foremost be true to ourselves, because if one is not true to himself/herself how can that person be true to others?
Secondly, we should stop the ignorance. We should stop acting as if Nigeria is just a place we happen to have an affiliation to, and realize that Nigeria is not just a place on a map,but that WE ARE NIGERIA. Then we would start to understand that if Nigeria has a problem it is because we have a problem.
Guy we know all this, how can we solve the problem , thats the koko
