Roger3D:Perhaps then it will be shoved into your throat, ears, nose and anus, if you okay it or not. |
Roger3D:Assuming so, how does that bother you? If u have a complex problem, pls deal with it. Not my headache. |
Werey man. I have not heard this pathetic fool rain curses on Hadi Sirika who scammed Nigerians and still walking free. Why hasnt he abused Buhari? Who was making National Broadcast to tell Nigerians what Naira note will be used and what will not be used? Was it not Buhari? if Emefiele was not acting on Buhari directive, why was Buhari the one making the National Broadcast? Until this govt arrest and prosecute Hadi Sirika, Myele Kyari and Buhari, then i will okay it. Selective prosecution wont do us any good. |
That's what happen when the govt employ unschooled miscreants and hand them uniforms to carry out official duties without properly training them on public safety and respect for civil rights. Public servants become Public Lords when they tend to see their uniforms as the legitimate power to oppress the ordinary citizens. From the Military to the police, the FRSC, VIO and LASMA (in Lagos) all officials hide under the covering of the uniform to oppress. The VIO officials are the most heartless and untrained personal in Nigeria. The Devil can even be kind enough to forgive, but not the VIO people no matter how genuinely u make a case and appeal. Those people are demons. No VIO staff will make heaven, I swear. |
Hmmmm. I can't wait to hear final ruling on this case. |
Guestlander:You are now admitting that Ngozi Iwealla and Jonathan were right about subsidy removal? Can you please do well to blame Tinubu and Buhari for foolishly stoping them then. Why should Tinubu have moral ground to come empty hand to remove subsidy and increase fuel to N550 when Jonathan wanted to remove it with palliatives on ground and price at N125? You don't see anything wrong with TINUBU abi? Make we get beyond tribal hypocrisy. And by the way, I ain't a die hard of any politician be it Peter Obi or anyone. I don't give a shiit about politicians. |
Parachoko:Which Camp Wike get for NASS? You think this is Rivers wuruwuru Politics |
Tareq1105:Circumstances are different indeed. What if it was Peter Obi or Atiku that is President and removing subsidy this shoddy way, will you be saying same? By the way, does it occur to you that subsidy payment was provided in the budget to cover till June ending, why is Tinubu removing subsidy in May? What happens to the billions earmarked as subsidy payment for June? Whose pockets will that enter? You are talking about corruption, what do u know about it. You think Tinubu is not going to recoup the monies he spent on elections? Continue to decieve yourselves. Obviously, the Yorubas are now doing same thing defending Tinubu the way the Hausa/Fulanis were doing by defending Buhari at all cost. Am sure the ibos will do same for Peter Obi. Hausa, Yoruba and ibos are the real major problem of Nigeria. |
Nvestor02:If Tinubu and Buhari had allowed Jonathan remove subsidy in 2012 at price of N115, would we be talking about subsidy removal now that Tinubu is removing it and taking price to N550? What exactly is Tinubu offering now that Jonathan didn't offer? Was Tinubu right to stop Jonathan then and now come with empty hands to remove it? Tribalism and blind loyalty go kill una for this country. |
Stupid decision. Clearly a move to accentuate redundancy in service. What will happen if the price of fuel increase further? Reduce working days to just 2days? |
bobontop:Well I might want to agree with you. Governance goes beyond mere integrity. Mind you, that is one critical virtue lacking with our leaders. A good leader must be astute and sensitive to the plight of the citizens. And this sensitivity must always inform his judgement and decisons. Tinubu show clear gullibility to decide to remove subsidy on first day in office without any cut out plan to assuage the pains of the masses. He wasnt even sensitive to the fact that he and Buhari had stopped subsidy removal 10yrs ago. If subsidy was removed then, would we be talking about subsidy now? Even if Tinubu had the highest of all integrity, he should have expected resistance from the masses on this. And worst still, the subsidy provision was to end in June ending, why remove it in May? Abeg make them shake Tinubu small so he doesn't think he can do and undo and have the boldness to take Nigerians for a ride. He goofed big time. |
These multiple means of extorting monies from Abuja residents. My issue with this park and pay when it was operated last time was that the staff were thugs who aare deliberately difficult and only interested in making u pay fine of 10k instead of paying for the time difference if you park even 2mins beyond 1hr. And also they deliberately avoid being around when u come to park your car and setting u up to park and leave without getting ticket so they can make u pay fine. It is a money making machine for some people in govt. |
For me, ordinarily, Subsidy is good. There is nothing wrong for govt to subsidy essential products and services for her citizens. It is done everywhere in the world by governments. It is part of government's social security safety nets for their citizens. However, Fuel subsidy in Nigeria is a BIG SCAM. It is a huge beehive of Corruption by government officials and their cronies to loot and decimate the country's revenue. The country cannot continue to sustain subsidy payments as a source for some selected priviledged few to continue to drain the country. Hence my position that Subsidy Must go (along with the corruption in the petroleum sector). I support Subsidy removal. Tinubu is right to want to remove it. However, even when I support Subsidy being removed, I strongly believe the process of removing it must be done in a proper and acceptable manner where it doesn't trigger economic effects and constitute a huge burden on the already traumatized Nigerians. Nigerians are suffering, govt cannot inflict more pains on them. But as a Nation, we can not fail to blame Buhari for the faceoff situation the country is now or take away the fact that Buhari set up Tinubu for a dogfight with Nigerians and the Labour Unions. For a person that earlier saw Subsidy as a scam, Buhari became a President that engaged in the same scam. And for 8yrs, he doubled as Petroleum Minister with absolutely nothing to show for in the sector except looting and bloated bills. We may want to ask, why did Buhari paid subsidy for 8yrs of his tenure and then deliberately made a budget that provided subsidy for half of 2023 year which only covers his tenure and excludes the incoming govt tenure? It was deliberately selfish and wicked of Buhari to provide subsidy for 6months and put the incoming govt to be a bad position of being without any other choice than to carry the burden of removing subsidy and enter into a fight with Nigerians from the beginning. Truth is that Buhari never had any political will to remove subsidy himself. He was simply a selfish and an arrogant I-know-it- all man who actually knows nothing but just sat on the Petroleum Ministry without having any solution to the many problems in that sector. However,to be honest Tinubu carelessly walked into a pit Buhari dug for him. Tinubu had to carry the burden of removing subsidy, but failed to carefully understand the economic intricacies of that decision. He took a hasty and rash decision and it is likely to backfire. From Economist perspective, what I would have advised Tinubu to do before making that subsidy removal announcement would have been to quickly put up a committee of experts to assess activities in the activities in the petroleum sector in totality to ascertain the actual consumption level of the country if it actually align with the subsidy payments and the real beneficiaries of subsidy payments. With that done, it would have realized that subsidy figures are heavily bloated and the source of leakage to be blocked. With the blockage of leakage in the petroleum sector, he would have then provided needed palliatives (Mass Transit buses nationwide etc) to cushion the effects of subsidy removal, and provide roadmap with timelines of what the monies saved from subsidy will be utilized for, before going ahead to remove the subsidy. That way, Nigerians would have seen the sincerity of purpose and the political will to sanitize the Petroleum sector and there wouldnt be complains. But these weren't the case. We are where we are. However, my advise for Tinubu now would be: 1. Allow the subsidy payment to run its course till June ending as provided in the budget. There was provision for subsidy payments in budget till June ending, the govt can't remove it in May. 2. Make enquiry into activities of the Petroleum sector and sanitize the sector and block every leakages therein. Punish those that have been involved in pilfering the sectors by demanding refunds of wealth stolen. If these are not done, the govt will only be removing subsidy and saving monies into hands of corrupt officials and their cronies that will end up stealing the monies. 3. Tinubu should provide basic social safety nets to ameliorate the impending inflation that will arise from subsidy removal. 4. Provide Mass Public Transportation buses across the nation to aid easy and affordable movement of people within the country. 5. Invest in alternative source of energy such as Solar Panels and renewable energies to augment the source of power as homes and businesses that were relying on generators will be great affected by subsidy removal. 6. Provide govt backed essential commodity market outlets Nationwide. These will help supply essential foodstuffs at affordable prices and help cushion the effect of soaring prices that will likely arise from subsidy removal. 7. (Many will not like this one)... My candid advise to govt will be to resist any call for salary increment by labour soon. It will greatly worsen the inflation situation. Perhaps when things have stabilize, the govt can consider salary increment as at due. 8. Engage and dialogue with all stakeholders on subsidy removal. Convince them to align with the policy by providing a feasible timeline on what the monies saved will be utilized for. After all, GEJ made that provision when he tried to remove subsidy in 2012 and even gave palliatives after taking pump price to N120, but Tinubu and Buhari rejected and scuttled the move. Tinubu cannot come with empty hands to remove it with nothing to show (even at a far higher cost) and expect generally acceptance from Nigerians. After all, if Tinubu and Buhari had allowed Jonathan remove subsidy then, we would be talking about subsidy payments 10 yrs after. Karma is always lurking at the corner for those that mess with it. |

zeuss:You are not only a junnevile diliguent, you are very pathetic miscreant. How did what I said concern you to extent you jump on it and abuse me? What did I do to you? You are now forming Godly by telling me am selfish and godless. What exactly did I do for you to call me godless? Was I the one that say subsidy should be removed? Am I a govt official? When you tell your elders to get out and abuse them for no just reason, you are being godly? What grounds do you have talking about godliness when you act so ungodly? Go and tell your father "Get-out" for no reason, since you are a godly person. Riff-raff coming to a faceless platform to unreasonably insult people who are older him and can feed him. |
zeuss:No, I am not suffering at all. If you are suffering, sorry for you. Just try manage it and don't extend your suffering aggression on other people. By the way, send me your account details so I send you a token to reduce your sufferings. When my 16 year old son come back from school to pay in for you between 3 and 4pm, I hope it won't be too late for you. |
successmatters:Young man, who is your friend? Do I look like your mate? The problem with your teenagers that are fortunate to find yourself on a faceless platform like Nairaland is that you think everyone is your mate. That is because you can't ever get to meet or see the person you are disrespecting. Some of your don't even respect your parents at home. Call me my friend If that's what your call your father at home. Lack of home training. |
ThiefnubuBandit:So that junk comment you posted makes sense to you? And young girl, what do you understand by literacy? Is that all you could come up with as a literate girl? I sincerely pity you. Olodo. When I was in the university writing projects for final year students many years ago, your parents haven't even met to even consider conceiving you. And mind you, if I sit in an examination hall with you, I can assure I will do hundred times better than you. In very few words.... I am not your mate age wise or academically. Go and play with your teenage mates |
ThiefnubuBandit:Will you guys stop all these childish nonsense? Must you open a thread for this rubbish? I support and voted for Peter Obi, but am getting sick and tired of all these childish stupidity from some of Peter Obi supporters on Nairaland. Too many teenagers on Nairaland. That is why even when I am a fervent supporter of Peter Obi, I refused to be called Obidient because of some of these shenanigans by so called Obidients. Even Peter Obi is often embarrassed and have severally call for constraint on some actions. |
Shettima is eagerly waiting to be President. |
Laple0541:You will be known for what you stand for. Going by what you posted... You stand for woman's ass. May woman ass not put you 6 feet down. |
Okoroawusa:Hmmm. I think some of you people just support any govt policy without even having an iota of understanding of the intricacies behind and around the policies. Just like most of you jumped behind the cashless policy without understanding that it will definitely fail if some necessary modalities are not on ground to enable it succeed. Yes, Subsidy is a Fraud that needs to go. But in removing it, there are necessary modalities that must be in place and on ground before removing it otherwise the move will be counter productive. Ironically, the GEJ govt made a good move to remove subsidy and came up with a feasible template and roadmap even provided structured palliatives and transport buses nationwide but Tinubu and Buhari mobilized Nigerians against that move. It would be counter productive to remove subsidy without the refinery functioning to capacity and palliatives such as buses for Transportation. High prices induced inflation will kill Nigerians. |
HacheNoire:Ogbeni, what do you know about what comparative figures you are trying to churn out? Do you make economic comparisons in isolations? What is the minimum wage in Nigeria as compared to Saudi Arabia you mentioned? What is the standard of living in Saudi against Nigeria? So assuming Minimum wage in country A is $5,000 monthly and that of country B is $1,000 monthly, you expect it is fair that pump price should be same in both countries? How can you be comparing Nigeria with Saudi Arabia for goodness sake. Una be mates? That's a country where systems are working perfectly with the govt working for the good of the citizens not Nigeria where the govt is there to loot and plunge the citizens into doom. Ogbeni, reason with your head not your butt. |
That picture is very very deep. Not many people will understand it. Succinctly put, the picture captures the hitherto Nigerian contraption before the 60's when the country was united and each tribe being his brothers keeper and when there was National unity and cohesion. Now, Ngeria is so badly polarized on ethnic, religious and political divides and too fragile and almost impossible to even think of the situation where a Yoruba, Hausa/Fulani and an Igbo person will sit and eat together. Today's generation have become too too toxic with hate and bitterness that has largely been fuelled by an insensitive and ethnically bias leader and selfish politicians. Whatever iota that was left of anything called unity in Nigeria have been completely eroded by the Buhari govt. It will take a daunting task by only a true National Patriot to mend fences and bring back unity in Nigeria. However, the depth of of the picture goes far beyond that. The the intrinsic value of 4th man in the picture is not to be overlooked. Who is the 4th man in the picture?? Incidentally (and erroneously too), most Nigerians have come to think that Nigeria's structure is standing on a tripod made up of Yoruba, Hausa/Fulani and the Igbos (the 3 perceived dominant tribes). Erroneously, Nigeria is often defined along the 3 major ethnic tribes forgetting that there over 400 other tribes within Nigeria. It is also seemingly like other ethnic tribes are either overlooked or at best have to play 2nd fiddle to the dominant tribes. In the deep sense, the picture portrays the 4th man as other minor ethnic tribes that are forced to helplessly stand and watch the 3 dominant tribes always share the spoils amongst themselves and believe that they are the only tribes deserving to eat the National cake while other tribes must be sidelined. Hence, power and national cake sharing must always rotate between these 3 dominant tribes. That is even a sadder reality of the contraption called Nigeria. |
garfield1:What brought Peter Obi to the matter? Do I look like Obidient or Peter Obi relative? So you churn out names for possible ministerial positions and you don't expect criticism on a public platform? Wake up!!! Your list is majorly junk. |
Rubbish. Only in your imagination. You think good governance is equal to reward for loyalty? Imagine OP dishing out ministerial positions like someone sharing akara. So in your head the only person you can think of for Attorney General of the federation is brainless charge and bail lawyer like Festus Keyamo? Are you kidding me?? And you come here to mention the name of that clown called Ben Ayade for a Ministerial position. As in how? Is it reward for charade and incompetence? And Ganduje too ![]() Ishaq Oloyede for education? Am not sure he has done much to deserve that portfolio. His headship at Jamb isnt making much impression. Shoring up revenue for Jamb doesn't translate to effectiveness. Apart from Wale Edun and Boyo who might be okay for their positions, most of the rest are laughable. Op, pls mind yourself with this your yeye ministerial list. Don't make us already dey vex for ministerial list wey never comot. |
MiztaDynameek:I won't be surprised if that's your way of response to your parents. Lack of home training. Good luck to you. |
jahsharon:Firstly, I am not Ibo neither do I ascribe to Biafra agitation. Am wondering how you are quick to make such assumption to align me with Biafra. It is part of teenage tendency I am talking about. Teenage assume too much and wrongly too. Secondly, I am not your mate. I was in university long before you ever made your first attempt at walking. You can figure what that implies considering our age difference. Am not your mate. So take your teenage abuse to your mates. |
The problem am having lately with Nairaland is that the platform is now full of teenagers and miscreants who have turned a hitheto serious platform to a playground for kids. Seun and Moderators should do well to sift out kids who make silly create posts and waste readers precious time. They should edit and approve topics created before it is even allowed to drop on any section. Nairaland should not be allowed to be childish play ground for children like this poster |
Hadi Siriki and Buhari have scammed Nigerians. Abeg what is the Fed govt share stake in the Airline? Just 5%. How much share does Ethiopian govt thru Ethiopian Airlines have? 49%. When did having a 5% share in a business make you the owner of the business? Buhari and Hadi Siriki are scammers. |
swaggerjack:Uncle calm down with the hype Biko. Last time I checked, Dangote is the richest man in Nigeria and Africa. Dangote has never been the 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 10th most powerful man in Nigeria despite his numerous business concerns. Dangote has just commissioned the largest refinery in Africa and will be controlling Nigerians refined business, does that make him the 2nd Most powerful man in Nigeria. And yet you are tagging Gilbert Chougory as likely to become that. By your yardstick I want to believe. Pls can you tell us how u arrive at this? |
