Celebrities › Re: Cheating Scandal: Speed Darlington Advises Davido To Use Withdrawal Method by chatinent: 6:51pm On Jun 29, 2023
Sb said Speedy wanted to use Davido to trend. Lol.

1. This video is an old video of over four months ago, and it had nothing to do with Davido. The blogger lied.

2. Speedy is not broke as you may think. He is just living a fake life in reverse: acting like a broke guy. That guy is super rich. Go and ask.

Politics › Re: Hunger Affecting 4.3m People In Northeast Nigeria – UN by chatinent: 9:06am On Jun 29, 2023
Jogs1900:
With this news now, people will think there are no poor people in the South. The Northerners are just using these tactics to corner aid and donations to their region. Don't be deceived. It's only in the North that you will see various NGOs operating and employing hundreds of Northerners. Till a Hausa man buys the whole street, they will still be begging for alms while we Southerners think they are poor. You will see a Hausa Fulani man having more than 10 cows worth over 10m naira and we will still be looking at him that he's poor.
Northerners are not as poor as we Southerners think. There is poverty everywhere in Nigeria.
Very apt.

Car Talk › Re: N1000 Vehicle Proof Of Ownership: Nigerians Reject Newly Imposed Levy by chatinent: 8:08pm On Jun 28, 2023
MasterTeeUSA:
There are so many reasons why this is good. It is like car registration

1. You cannot steal a vehicle and go for Proof of Ownership. If the car has been declared wanted, you are going to be in big trouble.
2. If a car is sold, the new owner will be forced to get his own proof of ownership and justify the purchase.
3. This is done in sane countries...in Maryland USA, I think its biannually
4. It can also be used to enforce...Police can ask for Proof of Ownership and verify the documents with NIN/IDs
5. Even if you try to repaint or change a stolen vehicle, you will still need to have proof of sale and submit documents for Proof of Ownership

Yes, is it extra tax on the people that have vehicles...yes, but it will also provide JOBS JOBS JOBS and open up another way to generate revenues to pay those workers.

Like I told someone before...US/UK pay so many different taxes, and that is how they are also able to provide so many different types of jobs or contracts.

US Military spending alone is greater than almost all countries combined...You have Haliburton, GE, Boeing, Amazon, Google...all of them get Govt contracts. You have IRS and officers that collect and enforce taxation. You have Federal Police, different from State Police and Local Govt or County Police and you also have City Police...State Highway Police and so on. Govt pays for all of them and use the same taxes...FireHouse and workers in every few streets, Medicaid for elderly which opened job opportunities that people run to...Nursing, Doctor and so on. Even IT and CyberSecurity is due to Govt spending.

So if you want more jobs private or public, you must take and distribute. Rich people that have 10 cars will have to pay N10,000 per year...which is nothing to them.

I support this move for all of the reasons above. If you cannot pay N1000 per year, you should not be driving please and thank you.
People need jobs to pay taxes.
Car Talk › Re: N1000 Vehicle Proof Of Ownership: Nigerians Reject Newly Imposed Levy by chatinent: 8:06pm On Jun 28, 2023
There are some 11.8 million vehicles in Nigeria. With the tax, an annual income would be some ₦11.8 billion.

Wow.

I just hope more expensive vehicles are charged more, and less expensive vehicles, less.

So you want ladies to try convince shallow minded strangers/ anonymous kid users why a men would be lucky to marry them. You all roaches think yourselves too important on this forum.
No one forced you. This is a discussion forum. You are also a stranger to every other person: gender, maturity and personality unknown. A forum where anyone can choose or claim to be anything but nobody cares anyway. But since a font with your name is on the forum, it shows you are here to read discussions. If the post doesn't apply to you, you creep back in and swallow your abusive speech, you really don't have to misbehave publicly. Don't you think so?

We run a very expensive rubbish for a federation.

We don't even run true federalism: we run a padi-padi government where people in political offices create ghost offices for their family and friends. After all, “na government money.”

A gerontocratic government always promoting the sing song of the youths being the leaders of tomorrow. Can you believe that?

How can you need so many aides and advisors. Are you that daft?

We cried and fought against the British colonization yet our own people still colonise us. We don't need a government until we make public offices unattractive.

There's no bad thing to be terrible at the English language. It's not the mother tongue anyways. But if you don't know the basics, it's practical to avoid trying to be grandiloquent.

Meanwhile, kudos to the former first lady. She's improved a lot...for sb who learnt the mother tongue first.

Mehn! It's hard everywhere and I can relate. I also have some siblings with me. Have you tried speaking to your wife, not just tell them not to come but be considerate of the hard times we live in and one person could come?

I think it's more understandable this way.
