Nairaland General › Re: Is High Time State Of Emergency Is Declared On Online Begging. by chatinent: 1:12pm On May 23, 2023
It's now a full-time job.

These career beggars have made those truly in need stranded. On the street, you cannot dress normally and drive 10km without meeting a beggar at bus-stops...all with different strategies. Even on Nairaland, there's one notorious one who acts like he is quoting sb else but really posting their beg pleas ..another format.

What I do is I give those who are doing menial jobs the little I can...eg those who push barrows, cobblers, water sellers, air freshener sellers, etc ... on the busy road. I feel they beat the stereotype to just beg but work! And also the sick.

But if you discern the person really needs help, keep helping while you sift those who are freelance beggars.

In one way or the other, everyone have a tendency to beg. But some just hibernates without telling anyone and return when they are all right.

My friend you are supporting a hoaxstar again while you have not recovered from the rape case.

No one can see the boy as a threat. Stones even if they contain metal ores can't generate electricity. If it could electricity would have been discovered centuries ago instead of just less than 300 years ago.
If all it takes is to dig huge rocks (special kind) into the ground and connect wires, lots of people will pay millions to acquire such rock.

That's a spiritual rock that defies the laws of physics.
What rape case?

In saner climes he'd get supported by the government but does our government care about young Nigerians with such exceptional discoveries, no they don't sad. All they are interested in is to borrow on behalf of Nigerians, steal all they borrowed and die leaving Nigerians in unfathomable indebtedness
They see this boy as a threat already. Do you know how much billions they syphon from power outage? Damn

Phones › Re: 2go- What Went Wrong? by chatinent:
When WhatsApp implements fees for its service, much like 2go did, and a direct competitor appears on the market, WhatsApp will soon cease to exist. It's not rocket science. Facebook bought WhatsApp cos it saw the future of it killing Facebook.

The creators of 2go managed to provide the impression that it is popular among young people. They forgot that young people grow! You have to pay to accomplish practically everything, and there are no creative chats...except e-dating numerous persons who'll never find out, and who lie about being independent, rich, or attempting to buy your fancy.

2go was simply a location for teenagers to hook up; it was a gathering spot where every teenager and adolescent behaved like an adult. A place to transact nudes and live videos for paltry sums and go-credits. A place to date and become a poet to your lover only in chat groups so everyone could see. You'll literally tell her to join the group and you hit the trigger with encomiums. And we, the other foolish adolescents who choose to be jealous, touched or convinced would be thinking of how we can find true love like them. Others will create alternate accounts and be the boyfriend and still be the girlfriend.

Lol.

A place where your font colour reveals how mature you were. Mine was maroon. What was yours?

During that time, my beloved UC Browser helped me to spend the most of my time on Wapka.mobi. Then, the then UC Browser is better than the now Chrome, Opera and Safari. Then on Nimbuz, Space, Eskimi, Waptrick (oga patapata where I downloaded my first games, Bourne Conspiracy, Prince of Persia, Assasin Creed, etc, with graphics like the now CODM..and with low space on Java and Symbian), Waplog, Wapkid, Facebook (the version for Symbian is superior to the version for Android), and all kinikokiniko.

Waptrick did a great job of gobbling up my money that year. I loved gaming. Permit me to remind you that it also has the typical advertisements and links that go to RedWap.😶‍🌫️

And there was BBM. It came like it won't die until Google and Facebook did a headshot on it with the US rifle. Then, if you didn't have a BB ID, you are invisible. It's the same stigma that comes without owning an iPhone today...or even more. Many got killed kwa because of this and many, laid.🤦

On 2go, I only went to the Comedy Club-1 sector, and believe me when I say that all you needed was a solid mastery of the English language (be grandiloquent, whether a right or wrong diction) to be a celebrity on 2go and on the potentially vulnerable teenagers of the opposite sex that were hanging around. A significant number of people were laid and some killed too. Should I forget that GoCredit yahoo yahoo was present too?

What about boosting the rank to Expert? Before the 2go added more ranks as their first addicts who reached were feeling disinterested?

What a time! It was the starting point for the e-hookup culture among teenagers. Eskimi, Nimbuzz and the rest then beautified e-dating and meetups.

Omo, that artiste was right, all of us bi ashawo.

Everyone has different views and pursuits. It's true 5M is not a dream catch but to some 500k is a dream catch.
It's a pity that poverty has eaten deep to the marrow of many Nigerians. You see people under the sun and rain hawking and sweating. If people like that sees 50k, not even 500k or 5M......they will thank you repeatedly for 1month. If it's easy for you, the case is not for common man on the street.

I'll spend it through a transfer to my other account.

That's after I gift a man near my neighbourhood ₦1m to help himself and his family. This man suffers too much and I can't help but notice. The sum should help him secure a small SME and rent a fair house space. Most importantly, also buy food, and affordable clothes. He and his kids must have a future too!

The ones with the most illegal businesses are the ones who shout “ na Grace.” Nowadays, yahoo yahoo boys and girls feel fraud isn’t crime but armed robbery is.

To even think that a person stealing from another person is saying it's the grace of God that makes it successfully!

You need to see the way they loathe and mock their colleagues, armed robbers or drug peddlers when caught...and call them criminals!

Moreover, the US said none of their people were victimised. Why is Nigerian mainstream media pushy?

More like they wanted a response from the US after the puppet dance and string pulls.
