Politics › Re: Gas Price Wahala!!! by CheapHomes1: 1:07pm On Jun 29, 2022 |
FreeStuffsNG: You are being alarmist and not putting your education to good use with this lamentation.
In the first place, gas cost has risen astronomically globally since Russia-Ukraine war started. Read up on why it is so.
On your unnecessary dramatics about food, parents still feed their children as no sensible responsible parent will let his or her children go without food because of high gas prices.
For as long as this war continues, gas price will remain high and that is why even Europe has started telling their citizens to cut down on gas usage and switch to alternatives, even EU itself has switched to other energy sources like coal.
If wealthy EU countries can switch to alternatives, that should teach you how to be sensible with your finances too when prices of any commodity is going sky high because of artificial reasons. That is called demand destruction to force price down.
In Nigeria, we can switch to kerosene, coal etc to reduce demand for gas so that those who want to further profiteer from the scarcity can reduce their price.
Sensible parents have since bought stoves and coal pots for now like Europeans in order to wait out this war period and will get back to gas when the price falls. This is the way out not just lamenting and forming a lamentation group.
Gas itself , due to the deleterious effect of its combustion CO2 emision on our climate, will one day be phased out once we perfect the renewables.
N:B To those 'entitled' ones screaming we have gas in Nigeria, let me remind you that between the gas underground and your kitchen is a lot of billions of USD investments you do not have o and those who made the investment from their hard-earned money can not keep subsidizing your gas consumption endlessly especially when they have willing buyers and international contracts that pay more for this gas in the scarce forex our country currently needs.
Banking on gas subsidy after you enjoy petrol and electricity subsidies that our folks in the villages do not enjoy is an unjust ungodly welfare system you use to kill those poor villagers who are not enjoying your privileges of electricity, petrol subsidies and now gas subsidy but picking your bills , environmental and social costs while you feed fat on resources govt could use to give them basic amenities like pipeborne water; clinics, security, schools, standalone solar generators etc. Their blood is on your hands if you want to extend your subsidy appetite now to advocating for gas subsidy at their expense.
FG must never subsidize gas. Get creative and responsible. Kill this lazy youth with entitlement mentality of yours.
Meanwhile, here's free book on business ideas & money sources directory for you,it's 100% free! to download, read and use https://www.nairaland.com/6666800/looking-business-ideas-money-fund. Cheers. God bless Nigeria for ever. See the way everyone have used you for toilet paper because you chose to sound foolish. Your screenshot said "make progress, not excuses". Pls which progress has this govt made since 2015? Aren't you the one now making excuses for buhari for being irresponsible as far as the welfare on Nigerians is concerned? In all your so called knowledge, you ended up sounding more ignorant. According to you: "Gas itself , due to the deleterious effect of its combustion CO2 emision on our climate, will one day be phased out once we perfect the renewables." The thread is about cooking gas. When did cooking gas start having deleterious effect because of its combustion CO2 emision on our climate? Are you the one going to phase out cooking gas? Is cooking gas not one of the cleanest forms of energy around today? Folks like you just need to have your brains washed with methylated spirit |

MrPolitics: Wike is a strong party man that held the PDP together no doubt.
However, how was he done wrong? He contested for the presidency and the delegates voted him 2nd for different reasons. His uncouth method of speaking is probably one of it. He publicly stated that he wasn’t interested in VP. Okowa worked actively for Atiku to win the primaries. It was an arrangement they had. It would be unfair to just dump him last minute for a man who is very controversial and said he never wanted the position.
Perhaps the way they went about it was wrong. I don’t know cause I wasn’t there but Wike will always have a place in PDP I think.
They will settle it anyway Mr brother, it's the same question I am asking myself. Dude contested an election and lost. I don't know what all these emotions flying around is for |

Their problem is they are too Image or Glamous-conscious.
Then most Big directors pick their celebrity friends, girlfriends, etc to take up roles.
Just like the way comedian Basketmouth brings in his celebrity friends (and perhaps his wife's friends too) to his series, Flatmates!

ThinkSmarter: There is a saying that "tell me your friends and I will tell you who you are" The saying goes to Tinubu. Though like with most politician, he may have a dirty past. But the fact remains that he is a very smart nigga. With the calibre of people he was alleged to have build in politics/governance. And taking Lagos state governance as a demonsration of his blueprints. You will agree that he is a great achiever and he can replicate same leadership in national level. Cuz like the saying, if you can drive in Lagos, driving in other Nigerian city/town will be a walk over. Same applies to governance. Cuz Lagos is a microcosm of Nigeria. I have curiously listened to Tinubu videos on Youtube of recent . Though, he is frail due to old age. But you will definitely admit that he is an intellectual. And I am convinced that he really want to prove himself by contributing his leadership prowess and acumen to the development of Nigeria. He got money already, I don't think he is running after money. And I will be voting for this man not minding his age. And despite the controversies surrounding his primary and sec sch certificates, I still prefer him to the likes of Ikpeazu with Phd, yet with little to show for it. Kwankwaso and Obi maybe younger and brilliant as well but unfortunately they both can't match the likes of Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu when it comes to wealth and political stronghold across the geopolitical zones. So, the election is definitely between Bola Tinubu of APC and Atiku Abubakar of PDP. Though I am from Eastern Nigeria. But, I choose to do away with religious and tribal sentiments when it comes to making the right decisions concerning the future of our country. After all, they are good and bad people across all tribes, races and religion. I'm convinced that Tinubu will assemble the best brains in governance that will tackle the challenges of our country squarely. Tinubu will rebuild our power sector, rail/road infrastructure, ports, deal with terrorists, tackle unemployment. Attract investors for rapid industrialization. Replicate the Communist party blueprint. I believe Nigeria will be great again. Nigeria will soon become Investors destination. We will be the African China. Who are the "the calibre of people he was alleged to have build in politics/governance"? How have they moved nigeria forward? Is buhari one of those people you are referring to? what blueprints did he demonstrate as governor of Lagos? How is Tinubu a great achiever as far as governance in Lagos isconcerned? Which same leadership is he replicating at the national level? Am glad you said he is "frail and old". Pls where is Tinubu right now? If you say Tinubu is an intellectual, how has he used it to move Nigeria forward? You say Tinubu has already got money. The question is where did he get the money you say he has? All the things you said Tinubu will do for nigeria, pls which one did he do as governor of Lagos? |
