igogossip:If you register scoop.ng and someone else register scoopnigeria.com, then they are not identical and therefore there can't be any legal binding or any other action to disrupt your operations. But if the same person who registers scoopnigeria is also the owner of scoopng and you guys are using it without appropriate agreement, then there can be issue. Take it as two separate entity. Mind your business and leave the other person to mind their. |
To answer your question directly : Yes. SEO is just one channel of driving traffic to your website, there are 5 other channels you can leverage but why SEO has become the defacto channel is simply because 1. Conversion rate is higher 2. You keep getting free traffic even after you stopped "spending" on SEO |
Google or any web spider will crawl a website as long as 1. The website is online - so check your dns maybe it was down at that time 2. There is a directive not to crawl it - did you recently make any changes to your robots.txt file? |
It depends on your motive. If you are doing it for link building; wrong If you are doing it because the blog post has something interested and you want to share your own view (either good or bad), then it's good. Now no matter your motive, dropping link is bad especially if you use keyword as your name |
There are ways you can get traffic. You already know some of them but here are those channels again 1. Social media 2. Seo 3. Paid traffic 4. Referrals My advice: Pick one channel. Master it, then move on. Unfortunately this model works best when you building a business. If you want traffic for traffic sake, then iit may not work for you |
Betboss:Great discussion so far. I totally agree with you both but I want to stress, there are no outdated link building techniques. Any method that can be scaled is considered wrong when you look through using Google's lens. And that is one of the reasons guest posting came under much structinise recently. My advice is to always ask yourself this question when building links What value is this link going to provide? If you can correctly answer this question, then you can implement any strategy and get away with it. |
Great tips. Thanks for sharing |

oteneaaron:I understand. As someone who has been offering SEO Services for 3yrs now, I now where you coming from. But here is the good news, lots of business are beginning to see the usefulness of SEO and are ready to come onboard. Unfortunately real SEO is not cheap and how many businesses can afford to pay a monthly fee in Nigeria where doing business is not easy. But I know that as more people go online and the industry grows, it will make more sense. You can join my SEO West Africa group on Linkedin. The idea is to start promoting the service |
Google wants to make money but as long as there are not enough people who go online to search online, the SEO war will not be won totally. This is because Google will not enforce its own algorithm otherwise they will not get people to visit the already existing website. So rather than do a full implementation, they will only be implementing it in part until the industry is ripe. The businesses, webmasters and bloggers who will win the war eventually are those who starts early now. As someone who runs an SEO agency, I am already starting a blog in virtually all niche. If you understand SEO, I think you should get started now so you can dominate your industry. |
You can get a lot from advertisement. The main question should rather be 1. What is your goal 2. How much do you want to spend? 3. Who are you advertising to 4. Where is the best place to reach them |
dollaflow:There are lots of effective methods to advert. Whatever method you pick should start with your business goal 1. What do you want to achieve-. Brand awaress, sales etc |
The lower your bounce rate, the better for your site. A lower bounce rate means your audience are finding your website useful and are viewing more than one page of your site. |
If I were you, I would ignore them. That's is how they trick people into paying them. It is a form of scam and you should not have responded in the first place. Just ignore and it will go away. |
Hahaha. I have never used swift but I will tell you the truth, my challenges with spectranet is a lot. The only reason I'm still staying with them is because for my location, they are the cheapest. Give them both a try and based on your requirement, pick one |
You are setting your blog up for a ban from Google either as a result of thin content or plagiarism Instead, employ a part-time writer for N20k per month to write quality content. You will thank me in the long run. |

First, great advice from everyone. For the first time,im hearing people talk real issues and give real advice. Having said that, here is my advice 1. SEO is a long term project. And that's why if you don't have the budget for it, you better off learning it. The challenge with learning it is that you have to make all the mistakes expert makes before you can know the difference between what works and what does not work. By then you may give it expect you make it your life 2. Wordpress has not advantage when it comes to SEO. The best way to take advantage of SEO is to use pure html. 3. SEO is not the only way to get traffic and if you choose the wrong keywords, your traffic is doom Now having said that, what can you do 1. Choose a niche ( an seo expert can help you here) 2. Optimise the website 3. Write great content 4. Build links 5. Look for other ways of getting traffic 6. Look for other ways of monetising your blog 7. Ignore all the advices out there (90% of them are lies). Don't rush to implement every update like mobile friendiness and https Finally and most importantly, hire an seo to worry about seo while you worry about other things. |
Hi, It is possible to draw traffic to your blog. It is just not easy anymore. There is way much competition now that you have to be much more better than almost everyone else. Having said that, I am currently working on a brand new website and I am documenting all I am doing step by step. I hope it helps someone one day. To briefly share my tips 1. Write awesome content 2. Implement SEO 3. Make use of social media 4. Buy traffic That is just the channels you can explore. How to use it step by step is what I can not share now. If you are interested in SEO Service, then you can visit my www.vtnssolutions.com to learn more |
If you want your website to rank on the first page of Google or even on the first position, then you need to understand that seo takes time. How long this will take will depend on 1. How aggressive you are with your seo strategy while staying with the guidelines 2. How competitive your keyword is- This means how strong those competiting with you for the keywords are. Having said this, no matter what you should SEO takes time. It is no longer a 100m dash where you can rank a website within 2months or sometimes even 6months. Having said this, you should immediately start seeing results from the first month of implementing seo on your website |
It is quite possible. It only depends on 1. Your niche 2. Your keyword |
