There are some questions l would have loved to ask you but you know this is a public domain. However l will advise you visit a teaching hospital where you can see a gynaecologist (unfortunately many TH are on sttike). You need a specialist care.

Check my post above. Sperm count is measured in cells per ml NOT in drop of fluid. Normal is at least 20 million per ml of semen, infact recent recommendation is that it should be put at 15 million because count is not as important as motility in male fertility. Infact if it were pegged at about 70 million as you posited then majority of men would be classified as being oligospermic.

They say curiosity kills the rat... l would have advised you go see your doctor on monday but since you really wanna know....ensure you still go see your doctor.

There is sense in what Captcochrane said. there may be a problem in the collection and transfer to the lab. Time is of essence in this type of test and the container also is questionable...if above were taken into consideration then the test (with the consent of your hubby, l believe) is abnormal.

captcochrane also mentioned you go to a standard lab but you responded it is one of the best labs in ikotun. I dont think so (with due respect to the lab) because if it were so there are important parameters in SFA that were omitted and some of the terms they used are no longer in vogue e.g sluggish. Just to mention some omissions...viscousity, liquefaction, appearance etc these are some parameters that MUST not be omitted by any standard lab (unless if you did not write the whole result here).


Vol= 1.2 (normal should be >2ml)
Ph= 7.5 (normal...7.2-7.
Epithelial cells = +/hpf (ok(
Pus cell = 3-4/hpf (ok)
Active= 00% (not good)
Sluggish = 00% (not good)
Non Motile= 100% (not good)
Normal = 00% (i guess they mean morphology...not good)
Abnormal = 100% (not good)
8.9million sperm cell per ml (not good normal is at least 20 million/ml)
Culture isolate = moderate coliform (they should have been specific...what about the sensitivity?....not good)

Again that your husband has had a child previously is not a guarantee that his fluid will always be normal.

Please ensure you see the doctor with your husband on monday. If the above result is real then dont panic it can still ve taken care of...it just requires PATIENCE. I wish you luck.

Did your husband give his consent to discuss this result on this platform? Is he aware that you are requesting doctors here to interpret the result to you?

If he gave his consent then l will give you the interpretation and advise you on what to do.

If his consent was not sought then l suggest you go back to the doctor that sent you people for this test for his interpretation.

Technology has made everything virtually possible if you have the cash. Last year a 63 year old woman was delivered of a set of twins (a boy and a girl) via caesarean section in the hospital where l work. So it is very possible. Good luck in advance

I didnt know Amaechi and Fashola were healthworkers. Meanwhile l still think the minister is not just a figure-head otherwise there would be no constitutional provision for such. I think health workers should be given the credit when it comes to combating epidemics not the minister nor the governors alone. Dr Adedevo remains the greatest heroine of our generation....may she RIP
