Walexz02:It is really sad if you were told he had Chronic osteomyelitis...I really feel for him....sad news. I think you people did not go to a good hospital at the initial stage of the fracture because if you had gone to UCH Ibadan when he had the fracture he would have been fine by now. Chronic osteomyelitis is a serious complication of open fracture that was poorly treated and unfortunately MRI is not for treatment it will show the extent of involvement and damage done and then you prepare for a very long duration of palliative care. I wish him well while l ask we also pray for him because with God all things are possible including CURE for chronic osteomyelitis. Peace!! |
We are not a country if 105 service men are captured without a word or action from the President. Imagine that Boko Haram overtook ISIS as the deadliest terror group in the world, and yet imagine the coalition and the number of bombs that have landed ISIS territory. Are we still a country! President Buhari must smell the coffee and wake up! God Bless the Nigerian Armed Forces! -CramJones Fact!!! |
Just to add to what obuksjr wrote, yes fansidar is safe in pregnancy BUT MUST be AVOIDED within the first three months, preferably started after 4 months (16 weeks) and could be taken till the time of delivery provided each dose is 4 weeks apart. But Op..a doctor gave you a prescription you decided to meet a "nurse" who does not even know that amala, fansidar, maloxine, malareich etc are d same. BE WISE! |

If you dont want to be carried to that hospital in coma, if you dont want your relatives to hear about the diagnosis first before you are revived from coma, if you really dont want to die young then heed the advise you have been given and go to a nearby hospital this night let the doctor tell you the diagnosis and treat you ASAP. The most likely condition you have is diabetes. Diabetes does not discriminate against any age...it affects both the old and the young... A stitch in time, they say, saves nine. |
Must Read - Somebody asked: "You're a Doctor? How much do you make?" I replied: "HOW MUCH DO I MAKE?" ... I can make holding your hand seem like the most important thing in the world when you're scared... I can make your child breathe when they stop.. . I can help your father survive a heart attack... I can make myself get up at 4AM to make sure your mother has the medicine she needs to live...and I will work straight through until 4am to keep her alive and start the day all over again! I work all day to save the lives of strangers... I will drop everything and run a code blue for hours trying to keep you alive!!! I make my family wait for dinner until I know your family member is taken care of... I make myself skip lunch so that I can make sure that everything I did for your wife today was correct... I work weekends and holidays and all through the night because people don't just get sick Monday though Saturday and during normal working hours. Today, I might save your life. How much do I make? All I know is, I make a difference. **copied**

Corruption is what we talk about everyday, it is something we complain about, something whose negative impact we all recognise, it is something that even the corrupt themselves acknowledge it is bad. The tragedy is that those who engage in corruption love it while those who donnot engage in the act accommodate it. Our level of tolerance for corruption in Africa is amazing. In Africa, we tend to hang the small thieves while we elect the BIG thieves into public offices, hence Africa remains the poorest continent on earth. We live in a continent where we celebrate thieves and vilify the good men and women-- that is the tragedy of the African continent. We live in a continent today where our young women, upon attaining puberty, cannot afford to buy sanitary pads but our public servants (politicians) have IPADS which they dont know how to use. We live in a continent today where out leaders who preside over our health sectors have no faith in the sector such that when they or their families are sick they run away to seek for treatment in Germany, France, US, UK and India. That is the tragedy of our continent. We live in a continent today where the political leaders have no faith in the educational sector; They bring unto us free primary education, universal basic education but they can NEVER dare take their children to those schools. Africans still engage in primitive accummulations. Many public servants and politicians will never rest till they have buildings in different capitals of the world which they will never live in; they have cars which they will never drive; they have beds of gold which they will never sleep on; they buy food which they will never eat because they lost their appetites long time ago. We live in sad times in Africa. We live in a continent where our leaders fight corruption on the pages of newspapers and media houses. CORRUPTION is the tragedy that has befallen our continent, youths arise and fight this rapidly metastasizing tumour before we will all be consumed and destroyed beyond repair. A stitch in time, our elders say, saves nine.!!!! |

Taking low-dose aspirin daily could help women become pregnant, particularly those who have previously miscarried. This is according to new research presented today at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD Researchers found daily low-dose aspirin increased the chances of conception by 17% for women who previously miscarried. Researchers from the University of Utah and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) suggest that taking just 81 mg of aspirin daily may boost a woman's likelihood of conception by reducing systemic inflammation, improving the environment in which an embryo grows. Aspirin is a salicylate drug commonly used to reduce fever, inflammation and relieve minor aches and pains. It is also increasingly used as an anti-platelet medication to reduce the likelihood of heart attack and stroke among individuals at high risk. There has been much focus on the potential health benefits of aspirin in recent months. One study reported by Medical News Today suggested the drug may double the likelihood of survival for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, while another study suggested daily aspirin may help prevent breast cancer. Now, new research suggests improvements in fertility could be added to the growing list of benefits regular aspirin use may bring. Daily low-dose aspirin increased conception chances by 17% The new study involved 1,228 women aged 18-40 who had experienced miscarriage in the past 12 months. All women had systemic inflammation. Compared with women who did not take aspirin daily, those who took 81 mg of the drug each day were 17% more likely to become pregnant and almost 20% more likely to have a successful birth. The researchers suggest that daily aspirin reduces systemic inflammation, making the womb a safer environment for the embryo to grow. PS: In Nigeria, the only available low-dose aspirin is 75mg. Don't forget to always consult your doctor www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/301350.php
