Amaechi live ....hmmmmm.... CHANJI NAJERIYA! |
kolokolobi:I think this is more of an institutional failure. Doctors should be careful, patients are begining to know their right. If you treasure your licence then do the right thing all the time no matter whose ox is gored. |
May his soul rest in peace. May God give you the fortitude to bear thia irreparable loss. I can imagine the pain of losing such a promising young man. To the doctors, both young and old, you can be that link between the life and death of that helpless patient before you and your action at that point in time determines to a large extent tge result you get. How can you think of or make a diagnosis of intestinal obstruction (in this case ib a CKD patient who obviously and not surprising has hypertension) and you are thinking of EXFORGE first, and forgetting the 3 tubes you were taught in the medical school... 1...NG TUBE (which in this case was all that was needed to this patient who choked to death via aspiration...chemical pneumonitis...it is a killer) 2...IV LINE (which the young doctor was having difficulty getting...he may not have passed an NG TUBE before) 3....URETHRAL CATHETER...to monitor his urine output...being a renal transplant patient. These three could have gone a long way to save this man's life. I dont know the cause of his death but from the narrative above it is obvious. l will not blame the young doctor because what happened to him (Dr Kiewv) happend to almost everyone at their infancy years in the profession. l put the blame on both Drs Balogun and Fadiran who knew what was at stake but never bordered to tell the young doctor to pass an NG TUBE (except if they did)...and to tell a patient with suspected intestinal obstruction to go home (after giving pain relief) is unheard of. Doctors always do your best to save that fellow lying helplessly before you. To Ma'am please take heart!! |

See a Dermatologist. |
Take Folic acid (original one) daily. Start it immediately. |
Real men (true fans) do not run away when challenges come calling....they face it!! Best sailors are made in troubled waters. Even if Chelsea goes into relegation, l will remain a Chelsea fan. We dont blame others for our mistakes, we correct them by ourselves. We are Chelsea, we are the Blues!!! No shaking!!! |
Op l think you should take this correction. Mr James Nwachi was the first Ehugbo (Afikpo) man to school in Central College Kansas, US not the first man from that side to study abroad. That picture was taken between 1959 and 1960. The first governor of eastern region Ezeogo Sir Dr Francis Akanu Ibiam, the former Isiali 1 of Unwana, Afikpo studied in the University of St Andrews (the oldest university in Scotland, UK) where he graduated with a medical degree in 1934. |

agarawu23:The opening to the vagina is completely different from the urethral opening (where urine passes out from). If urine passes through the vagina it means there is a fistula (VVF) which is an abnormal connection between the urinary bladder and the vagina. This woman may have.a normal tube, a normal womb and a normal but closed vagina (which may be labial agglutination i.e. gumming together of the vaginal lips) leaving just a dimple. In such a case mild pressure may just be what is needed to give her an open vagina.... seen one treated. So from the medical point of view it is possible. I beleive in miracles; they still happen |
Noise makers? |
Martiyu:APC should grow up and stop playing unnecessary blame game. PMB is the president NOT GEJ and so should be responsible for what happens to this country both within and without. Grow up |
Another confirmation that they were not noise makers..... another one loading.... |
CSTR2:they never see...u de mind them |
So GEJ is now the standard to guage what this administration does. Why not compare with that of Obama. APC Na waooo! |
So GEJ is now the standard to guage what this administration does. Why not compare with that of Obama. APC Na waooo! CSTR2: |
We dont care if they are saints or noise makers; all we care for is for them (including PMB and APC) to Prioritize the reduction of infant mortality by 2019 to 3%; reduce maternal mortality by more than 70%; reduce HIV/AIDS infection rate by 50% and other infectious diseases by 75%; improve life expectancy by additional 10 years on average through our national healthy living programme as promised kawai. |
Lastpage![/quote]Thank you wise one! |
PMB should be a gentleman and take full reponsibilities for this abysmally adouriferous and necroturically purulent embarassment. Since when did Mallam Garba Shehu accord official status to those meetings... he is yet to retract his statement..... Liars of the superlative degree. What then were the roles of the 21-man delegation. l thought each one had a specific role to play or they just went about taking selfies on the streets of NY. This trip would have thought PMB that Ministers are not mere noise makers but people he must depend on if he wants to last the next three and half years. |

Hmmm....FETHA in d news for the wrong reason.. chai.... |
Jesuschild, do not worry so much. Your wife probably had this elevated blood pressure during pregnancy but was not detected ( l dont know where she did her antenatal care). She had what we used to call PREGNANCY INDUCED HYPERTENSION (PIH). This is hypertension diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy but which resolves within 12 weeks of delivery. However some people may end up becoming overtly hypertensive especially if it was not well managed. Twin pregnancy is a common risk factor for PIH and may have been the contributing factor in your wife's case. Just encourage her to take her drugs as prescribed by the doctor and monitor her BP till 12 weeks of delivery l believe it will go. But if it pesists beyond this period then she will be diagnosed as being hypertensive and MUST be on medication FOR LIFE. She stands another risk of having same during her next pregnancy including more serious complications we call pre-eclampsia and eclampsia....Not to worry as good antenatal care will be of importance. DO NOT BE DECIEVED THERE IS NO CURE FOR HYPERTENSION be it herbal, native, Indian or American medicine.... to be fore warned is to be ...... I wish your wife well bro |
Blakjewelry:Yea l noted same too will correct it asap...thanks ......done the needful.....again thanks |
PCOS is a condition in which a woman's hormones go out of balance, affects her menses, the way she looks, may make it difficult for her to conceive and ultimately if left untreated may lead her to develop diabetes and even hypertension. The main cause is largely unknown. It may run in families. It is characterised by the presence of several cysts (eggs or follicles) in the ovary making the ovary get enlarged and tge follicles begin to produce more male hormones in excess of the female hormones. This will lead to abnormal or even absent menstruation (amenorrheoa), lack of or faulty ovulation and difficulty with conception. This increased male hormones will also result in presence of abnormal hairs on her body like beards, on her chest, on her legs, abdomen as well as loss of frontal hairs (balding). It can also result in deepening of her voice (masculine voice). These hormones will also cause development of acne vulgarus (i.e. pimples) on the face and body that may be difficult to treat. PCOS also causes excessive weight gain and difficulty losing weight. This will also result in inability of the body to use insulin (insulin resistance) and leading to more weight gain and propensity to develop diabetes. PCOS also affects the way her body handles fat and this can lead to hypertension. The good news is that PCOS can be treated. One may benefit from some medications or even surgery. However exercise and serious efforts at losing weight may just do the magic. Loss of 5-7kg of body weight may restore menses and fertility . Above all l advise you see your gynaecologist. l wish u luck. |

WHO welcomes the appointment of the Chair-elect of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. She will take up the position of Chair from January 2016. Dr Okonjo-Iweala is a renowned development economist and former Nigerian Finance Minister. She brings more than 33 years of development and financial expertise to the Gavi Board at a critical period for immunization in developing countries. Earlier this year, WHO warned that vaccines are not being delivered equitably or reliably and that only 1 out of the 6 key vaccination targets for 2015 is currently on track – the introduction of under-utilized vaccines, a target to which Gavi has contributed significantly. In taking up the position of Board Chair, Dr Okonjo-Iweala will succeed Dagfinn Høybråten, a former Norwegian Minister of Health and current Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers. She will also work closely with Dr Flavia Bustreo, WHO Assistant Director-General for Family, Women’s and Children’s Health, who is Vice Chair of Gavi. Since 2000, Gavi has supported the immunization of more than half a billion additional children, leading to 7 million future deaths being averted. WHO is one of the founding members of Gavi, a public-private partnership formed in 2000, to address global inequities in access to and coverage of available lifesaving vaccines. Over the next 5 years, WHO will continue to lead collective efforts to achieve and sustain universal vaccination coverage as outlined in the Decade of Vaccines Global Vaccine Action Plan. WHO plays a critical role providing global recommendations on immunization, ensuring that vaccines are safe and of assured quality, and providing support to countries to implement immunization programmes www.medicalworldnigeria.com/2015/09/who-welcomes-okonjo-iweala-rsquo-s-appointment-to-gavi-board |
