@Imopipi23 and those with 1.8m and 2.4m complaining of unstable signals and reduced signal levels on Sats like NSS-12 @ 57e,NSS7 @ 20w etc with Circular polarized signals (R or L) should change the follow-come dielectric plate with a glass plate of similar dimensions and witness an increase in the signal strength. You can cut the glass at any glass-cutting shop or do it at home using a glass cutter. Ditto to those with bigger dishes who wish to track off-footprint beams.

Yes ur calculations are near perfect for a 2.4-2.6m dish with a little bit of tweaking.

As I promised, find the picture of my Dish setup on NSS-12 @ 57E as primary, up are Sony chennels on 68.2E, last up is Apstar @ 76E and finally bellow is the Champion TV.

Is this what this thread has become,habba! 3 to 4 pages of nothing else but emails under the guise that keys are being monitored by spies? Please check other matured forums and u discover relevant info on keys and sats are posted codedly for all to see,but here everyone is posting emails as if the acclaimed spies cannot also send their emails to get the info. If we continue this way then this forum is doomed and many things about fta hunting and exploration will not be learnt. Laziness and inability to decode a simple info about channels and keys has led to this eyesore. @ Olason, u have now wearied urself out with bulk of hanging emails because u took the wrong approach, u should have posted the keys here in a coded manner and save urself and this forum from these pages of nothingness. @ blexxonmark,edey2real,michaelblakky,thanks for ur understanding of issues like this.

Try and get D*s*t*v at 36e then U can get arabsat 5a @ 30e by imputing the
tp of Eri tv and moving ur dish slowly upwards and slightly to ur left as u face the dish. It's easily trackable in the eastern part of the continent.

Alrite,just do a little twicking of the lnb and compare signal levels. As for the keys the image below will explain better my earlier post.

I set the keys manually entered a new one at 3978 just in case.

Just now, I experienced a breakthrough. Out of desperation, I did a blind scan. Blindscans often mess up tps sp I avoid them unless I'm desperate. I'm desperate. My HBO now shows. I now have three HBOs at 3974, 3975 and 3978. The 3975 HBO for which there are no PowerVU keys is paradoxically the only one showing. Pretty good picture. Cracks when the signal drops below the lower 60s%.

I'm unable to watch anything but flickers on the NHK channels and I don't know what the SONY channels look like as I somehow seem unable to pick them. Any help?

OK now that u have a little breakthrough, just tweak ur lnb to different skews and see if there is signal increase. And make sure the ident is exactly the same as the frequency of the particular channel when entering the keys.

By the way, my HBO signal strength is actually never stable and constantly keeps swinging from 58% to 78% hence my choosing the average of 68%. The dish is very stable as is the LNB. The signal is simply crazy and I can't tame. My primary concern is however to WATCH something on it. Anything.

Apart from the hbo,are other tps fluctuating? 2ndly,how did u enter the keys?

Can u see the picture of the dish? How do u want the dish to move down below the fence? 36E, 68E, 39E, 42E, 56E, 60E.
Even the 3story building would block West signal, nilesat, hispasat.

OK,I get u.Now what position are u on presently?And if u can't go below the fence to track 28e then do some tracking on 9e and 7e before we go further.

Which lnb and at what skew? Just as EmmaAchile said earlier,track multi tv at 28e then run a blindscan and let us get a feedback of how many out-of-footprint TPs ur installer is able to get. Some transponders on Sky Uk on astra 2e/f /g @ 28.2e should surface.

My dish is motorised. I actually want sky uk and I decided to get a 4.4m dish. I went through a tough period and process, convincing my estate management, my landlord and doing letters. Only for the installer to tell me that buildings are blocking the signal for west and that if I need sky uk I need 5 meter dish!!! 5 meter dish, when the 4.4m is occupying a huge amount of space.

Okay buildings are blocking west, how about east. With 4.4m I should kill all the birds on east. Why just hotbird

Now, I am furious and he has decided to buy an lnb. Why didnt he think about that initially? How can 4.4m dish get only 1 satellite. I cannot reconcile it. It is embarrassing seeing the gigantic dish performing below par. I just don't get it.

Sorry to say but ur installer is not well knowledgeable and just looking for excuses. How can a 4.4m dish motorized for that matter only lock one sat. My bros u should be able to get all kinds of packages with a 4.4m either east or west. My advice is that u try and get another sound installer or link up with any of the expert-FTA guys in the FTA general thread or fta football thread who resides in ur town to help u out. Please don't waste that massive dish because many pple are dreaming about it.

With ur 2.4m in Tanzania u can get idman at 7e -11492 v 3000 or better still go for Eri TV Arabsat-5A @ 30.5° East -12730 V 2589 and enjoy all top-grade football matches for free.

Forget about the pid and Sid, just input the keys after putting the exact tps.

U can get arabsat 5a with ur 3.5m,firstly track with Maghreb beam tp of 12566 h 2960 with 75-80% and input ur target tp (pan-arab beam)or run a blindscan. Ur lnb should be skewed at 2 o'clock or 8 o'clock.

Just noticed I got DDTV from the 3 you mentioned but there is nothing interesting about the station. Personally, I don't think Thaicom worth much.

Good work,and comparing those 4 sats, IS 20 and Apstar 7 have far more exciting packages than IS 17 & thaicom5.

Am being tempted to buy their Starsat HD decoder version , 3600 for 3 months as first time subscribers & 3600 for full sub monthly for Series a, bundisliga, French liga, Champions league, Europa league, Europa qualifier, who knows in future LA liga as well. I think Startimes has come to stay in Africa. Guy's 3600 for all this is mouth watering & they deserve our petronage & support, with this move gradually Compition will give subscribers more choices to make in Sub sahara Africa.

Good idea,but u can get all those packages on ur FTA with a movable dish.
