People with valid visas are still coming into the US as we speak, just that there is extra scrutiny in some cases SimpleGuy001: It seems you guys are expecting magic. Even if approved (highly unlikely). How will border control let you in? |

While it is good to communicate with your school of choice—especially if you have already paid application fees—it is important to understand that no school will reject an applicant solely because of the ban. Instead, schools may reach out to admitted students (who are yet to get visas) and request that they defer enrollment to a later semester. Vanjori: Read to understand. I still stand on what I said. All prospective students who has summited an application to a US university before the visa ban should reach out to them before they contact an applicant themselves. Many applications are being declined due to lack of communication. When this visa issue started, the first thing I did was to contact schools I have not gotten an offer from. I explained to them the current situation (even though I know they are aware) and while some school said they will consider my application, others said they will consider my application for the next semester and I do not need to apply again to them.
Now it will shock you that most of my guys who refused to contact them were sent an email saying due to the visa issues, their application cannot be considered. Communication is key. In situations like this you need to communicate.
Don't go ahead telling people to disregard communicating with their school, you will be doing them more harm than good. |

Your question is not clear but if you mean travelling on a visa that will expire soon travel. If it is going for interview go InvestorHalal: I don't if F2 WHOSE husband is already studying in US can go. Date already book to January 26 before the proclamation news. I don't know if she can give it a try. Reschedule to July is no option because their visa (her and 2 kids) would have reached a year, and hence expired.
What do you think? |

This is a goldmine of advice. Vanjori: Good Afternoon. Just a quick advice, for those who applied to school (I mean those who has already completed their application and are awaiting for a decision before the visa ban saga), send an email to the international office of the school you are going to and explain the process to them. In this message, write that you are aware of the visa ban in your country and will want to know what the next step you are to take as you have already completed your application and submitted it. Also ask, if it is possible to defer it to SPRING 2027. DO THIS BEFORE THEY SEND YOU A MESSAGE WITHDRWALING YOUR APPLICATION.
2. Send a mail to your program graduate coordinator asking for the next step to take or if it is possible to defer to SPRING 2027. Also do this before they send you a message.
3. If a supervisor accepted you into a laboratory, explain to him the situation. Most supervisors who are expecting international students from banned countries are now summiting a petition to the graduate school to allow that applicant to be admitted, and differ for spring 2027 and if the ban is lifted before June, then glory be to God.
I just thank God 🙏 for how he has lead me so far and for my graduate coordinator. This is the best thing to do right now.
If you have not yet applied for some schools or completed your application, pause it for now, till the ban is lifted. Work more on developing yourself, gain publications, more experience and make your CV more strong because the competition for SPRING 2027 and FALL 2027 will be record breaking.
I wish everyone the best and while this is very depressing, attach yourself to people who can encourage you. |

You nailed it Poor man pikin like me supposed dey face USA for study on a normal day. Efetobore1980: ●▪︎ Your Erasmus is a very tough and competitive Graduate Admission with 15% success from Nigerian applicants because more qualified applicants are applying from other countries. Besides, Erasmus is a joint certificate degree (EMJMD) which is not very good in comparison to a degree from an autonomous University.
1. Europe. You are not the one to tell people about this. Many of the European Universities have language barriers, credential evaluation and authentications issues, long time visa processing periods (1 year waiting time) ie Germany, Holland, etc, and block account issues. Aside of these, the visa rate is very very low.
2. Canada. There is little difference btween the U.S and Canada admission process. Canada is even more tougher in terms of admissions and visa process and most schools requires tuition deposit . Lastly on this, Canada has frustrated more parents and visa applicants (who have paid millions in tuition deposit, but yet did not get the visa) more than the United States.
3. I dont know any school in Asia that you want to compare with U.S, UK or Canada. Otherwise, Chinese and Korean students would not be trooping to America.
4. Newzealand. This is the worst in terms of admission and visa. Newzealand have just 8 major Universities and you must pay all tuition in full before your visa can be granted. Besides, almost all of these 8 Universities and other higher institutions has a foreign travel agents you must work with and they charge between N500,000 NGN to N2. Million.
5. Australia. This is just like Newzealand. They have agents like BCIE and others which you must apply through and most of the school also require full or half payment. However, all these does not guarantee visas in any of the aforementioned countries.
Also, none of the above countries has the admission and visa process flexibilities , Lower processing cost, full fundings , jobs and career opportunities like the United States of America. So, i will say, U.S.A. is the best.
Mind you, you can advertise Erasmus and Europe , Australia and Newzealand in the right sections. You cannot convince or confuse the American bounds because they are too determined and patient to go for the best. |

Your 4 years old will go to preschool while your 6-year-old will go to elementary 1. You do not need a nanny, for them because you work 20hrs a week so you must have closed from work by the time they are done with school. eg you resume work at 8 am and close at 1 pm that is 4hrs, Monday to Friday gives yous 20hrs Elily: Hi everyone,
Please I need advice concerning my family's F2 visa.
I traveled to US exactly one year now on F1 visa for my PhD studies. I went to the interview alone because my family's passport wasn't ready by then. They (husband and two kids, 6yrs & 4yrs) have tried on two attempts to get their F2 visa which was denied. On the first instance, the VO asked of our plan for a nanny since my husband said he will be spending one month in US (my husband was advised to say so). We didn't have plan for a nanny by then and they were denied.
On the second occasion after two months, we made inquiries on babysitting and presented it to the VO. My school also has resources for parenting graduate students which my husband presented to the VO but still they got denial.
I don't really know what else to do. I'm planning on going with them next time but I'm not sure if I will be allowed in the interview hall since my visa has not expired.
What should be our next of action
Please your candid advice will be highly appreciated. |

Your stipend is about $6.50/hr. $500 per month is before the tax $499 will be paid for you for every credit hour course you register eg if you register for 3 courses at 3 credit hr per course that will be 9 credit hrs let's say your fees based on the above-registered course is $12,000 the school will waive $499x9 = $4491 for you and you will pay the remainder by yourself

Master of Business Administration - Fall 2023
Congratulations on your recent admission to the Bleep College of Business Master of Business Administration degree program. Based on your outstanding academic credentials, we are pleased to offer you a merit graduate assistantship for Fall 2023. This assistantship is renewable under the conditions discussed below and can be held for up to 5 semesters.
A graduate assistantship (GA) provides you with a number of benefits. For example, the GA carries a stipend of $2,000 per semester, and $500 per month for each of the four months of the fall and spring semesters. Primarily assistantships provide a waiver of tuition at the rate of $499 per credit hour for your courses up to 12 credit hours per semester and are allocated based on enrollment throughout the entire duration of the program. Your assistantship also waives out-of-state tuition covering all tuition-related expenses. The university requires graduate assistants to maintain 12 credit hours each fall and spring, meaning your assistantship's total estimated value is $5,988 for in-state students and $15,696 for out-of-state students per semester. Please be advised that an assistantship will not cover the total cost of your program’s expenses. You will be responsible for any and all remaining program and mandatory institutional student fees.
Being awarded a GA is an honor, and GAs have the opportunity to work closely with the faculty and staff of the college helping us to meet our teaching and research mission. We hope you're excited to receive this news |

She was a black American lady with small pink lips🥰 Immediately she opened her window she called me to come forward, which I did.
Visa Transcript May 26th, Abuja Appointment time: 7:30am Interview duration: 1 minutes( at most) Status: Approved COA : $61,000
Me: Good morning mam VO: Good morning
VO: Have you traveled before? Me: No, I haven’t
VO: Pass me your i20 Me: (passes it to her)
VO: What are your plans with this degree in this school? Me: Studying sociology will help me in acquiring more knowledge in social theories, critical thinking and data analysis, this will help me in achieving my career goal which is to take up a job with *****. The current CEO of ***** is someone I met when I volunteered to work with **** in sensitizing women about the dangers and preventions of sexual exploitation. Upon the end of my voluntary work I was promised a position and I look forward to graduating in time and coming back to focus on that. It’s also one of my career goal to start up an NGO that would focus on the prohibition of human trafficking in women and young girls specifically, It is also very important for me to be close to my aging mom who isn’t getting any younger.
VO: Who is sponsoring you? Me: I would be sponsored by a family friend whom I have known since childhood, when the need for me to school abroad came up he had a conversation with my mom and offered to sponsor me in honor of the relationship that both families share
VO: What does your sponsor do Me: He’s a software engineer by profession and works with Microsoft, he also owns an Africa food store in the US
VO: What do you do? Me: I am currently a student at the university of ***** but due to the incessant strike it became necessary for me to school in a more predictable academic environment, hence the need to school abroad. (VO nods in approval to my ds 160)
VO: Where would you be staying? Me: I will be staying with my sponsor until my on-campus accommodation is sorted out.
VO: When did you graduate high school? Me: I graduated high school in 2018 and gained admission in 2019(VO nods again)
VO: When is your program start date? Me: Uhhhmmm(I really did this, I thought about it for like two secs) August, August 20th to be precise.
VO: Do you have any friends or family in the US? Me: No, just my sponsor.
VO: Do you have siblings? Me: Yes, I have two siblings
VO: Older or younger? Me: Older. I am the last
VO: Where are they? Me: My brother is in Lagos and my sister is here in Abuja
VO: What do they do? Me: My Sister works with **** and my brother works with **** VO: Typing….. (and then proceeds to pass me my i20 without my passport but I didn’t notice she added the white paper to the i20) keeps typing.. Your visa has been approved( proceeds to tell me how I can collect it and saying something relating to the white paper but I didn’t hear.) Me: Thank you mam, thank you( she smiles and then I walk away)
Note: From my experience, she didn’t ask for any documents or any proof, she seemed to be paying more tension to what I was saying and what I filled in my ds160. I noticed that whenever I said something corresponding to what I filled in my ds 160 she’d nod her head and with all these questions my interview still didn’t last up to 1min highest I’d say 45secs. Thank you all for assisting me without even knowing it🙏🏾 |
