It means all documents like a bank account, which you will use as proof of funds, should be printed 12 months before the intended semester,
eg

Assuming you will intend to start in the summer semester, which is on May 10, 2023

The account statement printed on the 30th of May 11, 2022, will still be valid.

Desire1996:
All financial documentation must be dated
within 12 months of applicant's intended
program start date.
Please can someone explain to me what they mean by this because am a bit confused please
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by chibertha(f): 6:06pm On Jan 07, 2023
Cost are dependent on time of travel.
The closer your travel date the higher the fare.
You can also try searching in the midnight

HaywhyUnusual:
Hi everyone
Pls, does anyone know a cheaper flight that one can take to the US? The ones i have been seeing is 1.2million upwards
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by chibertha(f): 5:49pm On Jan 07, 2023
I would take October 2023 and defer to spring 2024.
Dechamp:
My program start date is may but the earliest appointment I've been seeing is September, October, November & January 2024 please guide me on a possible solution

It depends on what you like because if you ask me I will say "medicine and surgery"
What I mean is I can not recommend for you
This journey na per head.

Choicexx:

I have a degree in finance and experience in credit, what masters program will you recommend to me at Marshall university with funding as they don’t offer any finance masters program.
Thank you

I think your sponsor is the issue and your last response added more salt to the injury.

Chi000056:
Hello NL,

I was denied my F1 visa application on the 5 th January 2023, orientation 10th January

VO was a calm young lady who didn’t ask more questions nor look the candidates in the face . I was exhausted because I was in line since 7am and this was around 12pm

Me: Good morning
VO: gm…. Pass your documents please

VO: who is your sponsor?
Me: my fiance

VO: How long have you been engaged?
Me:7 months… but we have been dating for 4 years

VO:What does he do
Me:He is a software engineer at Chevron

VO:Why did you choose your school?
Me:A friend of mine who has a masters degree from this university recommended it to me and they are also very accommodating to international students

VO:Have you been outside the country before?
Me:Yes, 3 countries (I named them including the US)

VO:What do you do?
I’m a medical doctor

VO: ( looks up from typing) so why do you choose to do masters?
Me:I would not like to work as a clinician and I would like to get into another career path but this program would help me to still be in service in the healthcare …
(I admit I was exhausted and this answer would not have been my best option in a different situation)

She then passed me the blue paper stating I didn’t qualify for a student visa.

I would appreciate any feedback back and would like to know if two weeks is too soon to reapply as I would be married by then . Thanks

Does your "sister" have a smart phone and has Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and or TikTok account
If yes then both of you should ask Google these questions.
Unlimitedojay:
Hello Nairalander, my sister has HND in dental therapy and came out with upper credit with cpga 3.51 which possible course can she pick if she want to go to USA and the process of sending her transcripts to WES and then they said she will do exam GRE , like how much will it cost to do masters in USA and other processing thank you
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by chibertha(f):
Not possible.
Without I-20 no SEVIS number
Without SEVIS no. they can not pay SEVIS fees
BigIyanga:
They may require you to pay for Sevis before sending form I-20.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by chibertha(f): 3:51am On Jan 05, 2023
You are right
Nozino:
I believe you need a resident permit to interview. I’m not certain. But my brother had to get one to interview at the German embassy in one of the ECOWAS countries.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by chibertha(f): 3:50am On Jan 05, 2023
Nigerians need resident permit in ECOWAS country.
However they can stay in a member country for only 90 days with out visa.

Anfieldboss:
Nigerians don't need residency permits in ECOWAS countries, with your Nigerian passport (which is actually an ECOWAS passport) you can enter and live in any ECOWAS country. Cote D'Ivoire is an ECOWAS country.

Looks like funding is the issue here.
If you don't mind apply to my school Marshall university the same department.

https://www.marshall.edu/academics/programs/mathematics-ma/

You are guaranteed a 100% fee waiver plus a $12/hrs stipend.

https://www.marshall.edu/math/graduate/assistantships/

Message the graduate coordinator and chair of the department.
They are in dire need of master's students as the last 2 just graduated in December 2022.

Goodluck

They are solving from answer to equation by interpolation.

Quonchovsymenez:
The interview is the easiest part of the stuff if you know what you are going for, what you are studying, have the right funding and what you will do with the degree. The hardest part is getting the school, course of study, application requirements and funding. So do the basic first before reading transcripts. You don't have admission and you are reading transcripts. What are you going to relate the transcript with. Nigerians and backward integration...

For unknown reasons my post was deleted twice and I'm unable to make posts using my @studemore123 account. Maybe because it was very lengthy or I revealed too much info.

At this time I'll say follow the advice of @eakhilomen.

I just saw that you assisted someone with their application so you know what to do. You may also be aware that there's a shortage of Gas/Petroleum Engineers in the US. You have to put the dots together.

Determining who qualifies is not an issue but the "packaging" is important.

I wish you the very best.

Got ya.

NotsonewMary:
Adjustment of Status; This is the greencard application itself i.e I-485. One can adjust status if already in the US at the time of application, i.e You are already in the US on F-1 and you’ll be adjusting your status to that of a permanent resident.

Consular processing on the other hand is done by applicants outside of the United States.

https://brownimmigrationlaw.com/resources/adjustment-of-status-vs-consular-processing-for-employment-based-immigration/

This link above might help you with a better understanding of both.

When it comes to minors the other parent must consent for you to take them abroad it is an international rule to stop child trafficking.
That said if the children have passports it is assumed that they have consent because for them to be issued passport both parents must be in agreement.
In addition always carry a consent letter from the other parent when traveling out with them.
I will advise you go with it too to the embassy Incase of "incacity".
Better to be over prepared than under prepared.
E get why

NOTE
I CAN GIVE YOU SAMPLES OF CONSENT LETTER WHICH I USE FOR MY KIDS.

He has over 10 high impact publications in engineering they are on his profile in research gate.
That should cover for no. 1 or what do you think?

Studymore123:
Go ahead with the application.
Interesting profile. He's qualified for NIW.

It's very easy for him for get an EB2 petition but if he decides to go the NIW route.
There're 2 major factors to consider.

1a. Does he have an exceptional ability? I don't know

1b. Does he have an advance degree? Yes.
He passed the first criteria

2a. Can he show that his proposal has substantial merit and of national importance. His advance degrees/research interest should assist in this regard.

2b. Can he prove that the advs of waiving the job requirement outweighs the advs of not waiving it. There are several ways of proving that and it often depends on the info from 2a above.

The objective should be to show that he has made contributions to his field and have recognition.

Please what is AOS?

NotsonewMary:
It’s a great profile no doubt!

I’m just thinking, maybe… just maybe you might have a slight edge over him due to your US advanced degree that is shortly on the way like you mentioned.

Plus, AOS will be a faster option for you both than consular processing in my opinion. You’ll be the principal applicant and he can get a derivative GC from you.

The ball is in your court though. It should be a win-win for you both whichever way you flip the coin (all things being equal).

My Transcript!!!
29th December 2023
First Attempt
COURSE: Nursing
COA: 33,000
FUNDING: NIL
SCHOOL: Houston Comm College
Lagos Consulate
Window 3 (middle-aged woman with beautiful green eyes like mine)

VO: Next person, please, after denying 5 people who went to her.
Me: Good morning officer, how was your Yuletide break.

VO: Blank stare without response.
VO: Pass me your documents
Me: Passed them with my study leave letter

Looks at study leave, types into her system and faces me.

VO: You have lovely eyes
Me: Thank you officer

VO: So why are you going to this school?
Me: Officer, please I'd like to make a few remarks before we begin.

VO: Don't make any remarks, I'll be the one asking the questions, all you need to do is answer.
Me: Okay officer, that's fine (frowning)

VO: So why are you going to this college?
Me: I'm aware I have quite a bit of an unusual situation, i'm going for a degree in nursing even tho I already have a bachelors degree, but I'm going for this program in this College to get some really specific knowledge and hands-on practical training that I can't get here in Nigeria to enable me transfer to the University of Houston for a Professional Dual Masters degree in Public Health Nursing with a concentration in Epidemiology, I have full funding from the school but will need to meet some requirements before I can transfer.

VO: Ohh you have an admission from the UofH
Me: Yes officer, I do?

VO: How did you hear about this school?
Me: My ex supervisor at the WHO recommended the school to me as he is an Alumna of the school.

VO: So how many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to 3 schools (mentions them), but I chose this college because they accepted to waive courses I had taken in my undergraduate degree program, and I was directly admitted into the Nursing program, this translates into completing the program in a shorter time.

VO: What do you currently do for work?
Me: I currently work with the WHO and National Hospital in Abuja as a Medical Officer, where alongside my colleagues, we provide holistic and therapeutic care and management to cancer patients, sickle cell disease patients and Haemophilia patients. As a rep from the WHO, I collaborate with UNICEF and USAIDS and UKAIDS to collate and analyze data of individuals from underrepresented communities and IDP camps across Nigeria and West Africa especially victims of Endemic diseases like HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Typhoid, and Hepatitis as well as victims of gender abuse and domestic violence, where we set up point referral systems to mapped out facilities to access health care (Cuts in), she was looking at my DS while I spoke.

VO: So how will you be covering this deficit.
Me: My father was required to demonstrate his ability to fund my studies before my I20 was issued, he's a medical doctor who lives in his own house and has a medical facility here in lagos, like me he also works with the WHO. He's also a serial entrepreneur and owns xyz investment limited, with my mum as the company's director, it's more of a family business. I'm not quite sure how many workers they have at the company but I think about 22 as the company is fully automated and don't require so many workers. Combined, they make an annual income of 310million, I'm not sure if this is the revenue every year but for their last Fiscal Year they made this amount. I also have a study leave that provides me 65% of my...(cuts me).

VO: Whats your post study plan?
Me: I completely blanked out, i mean we kept looking at each other for over 20 or so seconds (at this point i just kept praying in my mind).

VO: What will this program do for you?
ME: Well quite a lot, first I'll be coming back to Nigeria to work as a Clinical Associate with the WHO and USAID, this position will see me jump on-board the ongoing Typhoid vaccine introduction in Nigeria, we're currently at the data gathering stage of the project to assess and analyze the burden of the disease in Nigeria. Furthermore, this career path for me is a double edged sword as I could decide to focus either on Public Health challenges or on health care delivery systems bordering around Nursing or even both. This path also projects me towards managing my father's medical facility in future should he retire.

VO: Looking into my eyes, so you speak all these languages, thats a lot (smiling)?
Me: Yes officer I do (smiling back)?

VO: Avez-vous trouvé une petite amie ivoirienne en Côte d'Ivoire (smiling)?
Me: Je l'ai fait, mais elle s'est mariée avec quelqu'un d'autre à cause de la distance (laughing)

VO: You also seem to have a very nice LinkedIn profile and online presence (looking at her screen), I'll be approving your visa, take this white paper, it'll show you how to get your passport.
Me: Merci beaucoup mademoiselle, bonne fin de journée

VO: Au revoir.

I've been a silent member on this forum, but, many thanks to every single person who contributed to my success, God bless you guys abundantly. And I sincerely hope those awaiting a decision on their application, get a favourable response.
