Webmannigeria:Revelation 21:8, KJV: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Where in this passage was it stated that people will burn for eternity in hell without dieing? I think you misunderstood what "everlasting doom and punishment" means. Death in the Bible means total separation from God. It is not a life of suffering for eternity in hell. The everlasting there doesn't in anyway mean that the suffering will continue till eternity rather it potrays the irreversible nature of the second death. The first death like people die today is seen in the Bible as sleep and not a permanent one as all the dead will rise when Christ comes. The second death is the permanent and irreversible death. |
Webmannigeria:His love is forever I agree. Satan will be destroyed with sinners and all his angels. It's about total annihilation that leads to inexistence. Read John 3:16. You either have everlasting life or you perish(totally destroyed). There is no everlasting life of suffering in hell. That is heresy and false gospel. |
Christ coming will be glorious and all eyes will see him. There won't be any secret rapture to heaven. Nothing in the Bible points to that. |
Original Bible transcripts in aramaic and Hebrew did not have the world hell. Hell was an erroneous addition to translations of the Bible that came about by interpreting four different words(Gehenna, shades, Hades and Sheol) that mean different things as one word. How can people think that a loving God will punish people for eternity for sins they commited during their short life span on earth. That is wickedness and contradicts everything about the loving nature of God. I will never serve such a God. The almighty God whom I serve isn't that wicked. You either inherit eternity when Christ comes the second time or you get totally destroyed. There is nothing like spending eternity in a burning fire without dieing. |
Masonkaycares:You really need to do a research on how the Sabbath was changed from Saturday to Sunday. It was not immediately after Christ's resurrection as people often say. Read about the convertion to Christianity of Pagan Rome and Constantine the great. You will understand that Sunday worship has more to do with Idol worship than Christianity. I don't want to be the one to tell you. You will believe it if you read it yourself. Thank God for the internet. |
phemmyfour:Please quote the Bible passage where Jesus redefined the Sabbath. I want to learn. |
Openbusiness4:So you don't believe he rested on the seventh day as written in the Bible? God rested on the seventh day to buttress the importance of the Sabbath. He took the human nature in that act and that doesn't invalidate his eternal nature. Remember that Christ took the human nature to pay for our sins. |
wunmi590:PLEASE READ THIS WITH YOUR BIBLE CLOSE BY AND AN OPEN MIND. Many people, however, think that Paul, the other apostles and the early Church changed the Sabbath day. But what does the record of the New Testament really say? “Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good” (Romanos 7:12). We have seen that Jesus Christ did not change God’s Sabbath day. On the contrary, throughout His ministry He showed the true purpose and intent of the Sabbath. Jesus often showed that the Sabbath, and particularly His teachings and actions on that day, prefigured the coming messianic age—the time of the Kingdom of God—as one of healing, freedom and restoration for all humanity. Jesus was a Sabbath-keeper. At the time of His death, His closest followers clearly observed the Sabbath, waiting until it was past to prepare His body for burial (Mateo 28:1; Marcos 16:1-2; Lucas 23:56; Lucas 24:1). Fifty days from Christ’s resurrection, many gathered for the Day of Pentecost, one of God’s seven annual Sabbaths or feasts observed in addition to the weekly Sabbath (Leviticus 23), and it was on that day that the New Testament Church was founded by the coming of the Holy Spirit (Hechos de los Apóstoles 2:1-4). The Bible shows no evidence of any change at Christ’s death and resurrection concerning God’s Sabbaths. We see only a continuation of Christ’s followers observing them just as He had done—despite the assertions of some to the contrary. Did Paul abolish the Sabbath? If the Sabbath, or any part of God’s law, was abolished or changed in the early New Testament Church, we should find clear evidence of such a dramatic shift in the New Testament writings. After all, the books of the New Testament were written in the first century over a period of decades ending in the 90s, more than 60 years after Jesus’ death and resurrection. Many who argue that the Sabbath was abolished in the New Testament point to the apostle Paul’s writings to justify their view. But is this opinion correct? They commonly cite three passages to support that claim—Romanos 14:5-6, Colosenses 2:16-17 and Gálatas 4:9-10. To properly understand these passages we must look at each in context, both in the immediate context of what is being discussed and in the larger social and historical context influencing the author and his audience at the time. We must also be careful not to read our preconceived notions into the text. With that in mind, let’s examine these passages and see if Paul indeed annulled or abolished Sabbath observance in his writings. First, let’s consider Paul’s own statements about God’s law. More than 25 years after the death of Jesus Christ, he wrote in Romanos 7:12, “Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.” In Romanos 2:13 he stated, “For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified.” In Romanos 7:22 he said, “For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.” Many assume that once we have faith in Jesus Christ, we have no more need to keep the law. Paul himself addressed this concept in Romanos 3:31: “Do we then make void [Greek katargeo, meaning ‘destroy’ or ‘abolish’] the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish [Greek histemi, meaning ‘erect’ or ‘make to stand’] the law.” Faith does not abolish the law, said Paul; it establishes and upholds it. In Acts 24 he defended himself before the Roman governor Felix against charges of dissension and sedition brought by Jewish religious leaders. Replying to the accusations against him, he said, “I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets” (Hechos de los Apóstoles 24:14). Two years later he again defended himself against such accusations, this time before another Roman governor, Festus. “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything at all,” he responded to the charges against him (Hechos de los Apóstoles 25: .Here, some 25 to 30 years after Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, Paul plainly said he believed “all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets” (terms used for the books of the Old Testament) and had done nothing against the law! In light of these clear statements, we should expect to find equally clear instructions regarding abolition of the Sabbath, if that had been Paul’s understanding and intent. But do we? Are all days of worship alike? In Romanos 14:5-6, Paul wrote: “One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.” From this statement, it could appear to some that Paul is saying that whatever day one chooses to rest and worship is irrelevant so long as one is “fully convinced in his own mind” and “observes it to the Lord.” Does this mean that the Sabbath is no different from any other day or that we are free to choose whatever day we wish to observe? Some 25 to 30 years after Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, Paul plainly said he believed “all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets” (terms used for the books of the Old Testament) and had done nothing against the law! To come to that conclusion, one must read it into the verse, because the Sabbath is nowhere mentioned here. In fact, the word Sabbath or references to Sabbath-keeping are not found anywhere in the book of Romans. The reference here is simply to “days,” not the Sabbath or any other days of rest and worship commanded by God. Keep in mind that Paul, earlier in this same epistle, had written that “the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good,” that “the doers of the law will be justified,” and that he found “delight in the law of God” (Romanos 7:12; Romanos 2:13; Romanos 7:22). If he were saying in Romans 14 that Sabbath observance is irrelevant, such an assertion would be completely inconsistent with his other clear statements in this same letter..... https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/booklets/sunset-to-sunset-gods-sabbath-rest/was-the-sabbath-changed-in-the-new-testament |
Openbusiness4:Where did you get this understanding from? This isn't true. The Sabbath is the literal seventh day one. Don't confuse it with eternity. |
Sabbath is Saturday. The seventh day of the week. It is a day we shouldn't do any work but only those that please God. It was instituted from the beginning of time after creation. It is the only day that God blessed and hallowed. Jesus went to the synagogue every Sabbath while he was here. Jesus also said he didn't come to destroy the law but to fulfil it. If Christ went to the synagogue every Sabbath and we are Christians who should follow his footsteps, why do we all go to church on a Sunday? God doesn't change neither does any of his laws. He is the same today, tomorrow and forever more. Let us awake and start keeping the true Sabbath - Saturday. |
BigTableShaker:You are wrong. Do your research very well. It's only the 2003 model that had transmission issue. 90% is even an over exaggeration of the problem. |
BigTableShaker:Stop saying what you don't know. I have been using 2005 model going to 3 years now with no gear/transmission issue at all. |
Abia state can't complete just one in 5 years. Abia my state is in need of deliverance from devilish politicians. |
onegentleguy:A very detailed analysis. Keep up the good work. You are a good man. Please minimise the use of acronyms so that students like us can understand your write ups better. |
opera1:These two cars shouldn't be compared at all. They were not made with the same kind of people in mind. Lexus ES is a better car to drive than that bland Corolla. Lexus is a luxury brand and so more expensive to maintain. Corollas have 1.8l 4 cylinder inline engines while Lexus ES has 3.0L/3.3L V6 engine. So Corollas are more fuel efficient than Lexus ES.They are both rugged cars. Corolla has a simple design so every dick and Tom can work on it. There are also a good number of Lexus techs in Nigeria. No one can tell you the better one for you without knowing your income. If your finances are tight, you may consider Corolla though the Lexus is a better car. For me and my family, we hate that car called Corolla and will most likely never buy it with our money. |
UzorChinonso:You started your marriage on a wrong foundation. There shouldn't be any secret between you two. Tell your husband how much you earn. It's no big deal. If you find it so difficult to do so, you shouldn't be married to him in the first place. He doesn't have legal right to your pin nor money. But as a supportive wife, you should help out in the house. |
Those that attended UNN will know that Firstbank is close to CEC. Around 2010, CEC was the official school guest house where ceremonies including weddings are held. I hope it's still so. As a student in UNN then, I was so broke and hopeless one Saturday with no Kobo in my pocket and account. Around 3pm that day, I decided to check my account balance at the firstbank ATM to know if someone has paid in money for me though I wasn't really expecting money from anyone. I was just hoping for miracle. I had no knowledge that a wedding reception was going on at CEC. As I was keying in my ATM pin into the machine, I heard the MC call for prayers to start sharing food and refreshments. Hallelujah! My lunch and dinner combined is about to be served. No money had entered my account after checking but an opportunity to eat free food was provided. I walked in majestically into the wedding venue and sat down at a corner. The ushers were already sharing food which got to me. I ate and drank to my satisfaction. I didn't know who was wedding nor was I invited by anybody. It was the holy spirit that invited me to go and eat my lunch and dinner combined that day. After eating, I stood up and went to my house to sleep. God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. I wish I know or have the contact of the couple that wedded that day, I will just call to thank them for saving a life. |
onegentleguy:It's nice to have you back. I tried reaching out to you. Sent you a WhatsApp message as well as SMS. Tried calling too but couldn't get through. It's good to know you are ok. |
Aarenaija:Don't mind some idiots. I am from Abia state. I can tell you that OUK deserve death sentence. I can never support a thief. |
ReachRich:Please just show me where in the judgement that it is was stated that he was acquitted or shut the Bleep up. It's people like you that support thieves that are the problem of this nation. |
Idiots celebrating rubbish. The supreme court never acquicted OUK. It was just legal technicalities. He is going back to jail after re-trial. I am from Abia and know first hand what Orji did in the state. That guy deserves death by hanging. |
MythMan147:You need to go back to school. No insult intended. Just a friendly advice. At least to understand the meaning of monopoly. |
Nigeria doesn't have constant power supply partly because the populace are not ready to pay for such. Imagine this nonsense. Those boys should all be arrested and dealt with. |
Uneducated reporter. When I saw 23,000MW I was like bawo? Is it in this same industry I work in. We don't even presently have the capacity to generate 20,000MW if gas is made available let alone approx 23000MW. You don't just add different days power generation shortfalls and say that's what was lost. Power is instantaneous. You can only do that if you convert to energy. |
People like me know that Baba TB is nothing but scam. Oya his followers start your insults. |
The idiots that beat him should be arrested and dealt with. He is just doing his job. Money is spent on generating and transmitting the few hours of electricity that you enjoy and you should pay for it. He wasn't even disconnecting peoples' homes, just distributing bills. Majority of Nigerians are educated illiterates, animals and idiots. You want 24hrs electricity but not ready to pay for it. |
Yes o. He is a family friend that lived and died in New York from covid-19. A man around 70 years. On Monday 13th April, my dad called to tell me he died of covid-19 in New York. All the memories of him is ever fresh on my mind. This is someone that we visit each other whenever he is in Nigeria. Corona Virus is real. Protect yourself. |
