Well I have never applied for a visa before nor travelled outside Nigeria but I am well read in terms of travel issues. One thing I know for sure is that no agent can give you 100% guarantee for any visa because they aren’t the visa officers. I have made the decision that any day I will apply for any visa, I will do it myself. I know people that these agents have caused them to be banned due to using forged documents.

Though I don’t watch football, this question is cheap. Anyone that reads news should be able to answer this.

Exactly 9 days later(Last Thursday), he sent me a screenshot of the printed passport on WhatsApp and said I can come collect it anytime I am free. Due to no time off work, I fixed last Saturday for the collection. I went there on Saturday only to be told that there is a server upgrade ongoing and they won’t issue any passport that day. So, I haven’t collected it yet but I have a picture evidence that it’s printed and ready for collection. I will look for a way to take time off work and go collect it.

Thanks nairaland. You are a life saver. They have been disturbing me for a month now saying I won a voucher and that I should come for their presentation with my wife to claim it. I was skeptical initially but they were persistent with their calls so I decided to go tomorrow. I just said let me search them on nairaland and from what I am reading here, they aren’t seeing my back. Thanks nairaland for saving my precious time that I would have wasted.

So I finally captured…
I noticed one thing. When I went to buy a file as directed, I was asked if I am online DIY and I said yes so they sold a pink file to me. I noticed that others had mostly white and brown files while DIYs had pink files. It’s a systemic way of distinguishing who is who. So they give priority to the other guys. I also noticed that those non DIY files all have stamps with the word ‘SORTED’ and signed while mine didn’t have such. I was later made to understand that 3k is paid for that stamp and you can never get express service without that stamp. So during capturing, my file was the only pink file and you can imagine that after capturing, I was the only one that was told to return my file to SERVICOM. Other non DIY files were neatly parked and officers were coming to pick them one after the other. It was then I knew that if I submit that file back to servicom desk and leave, it won’t be touched in months. Nigeria is really messed up. I was already in talks with an officer to fast track the printing but was scared since I don’t know him well. I had to codedly ask those agents about the officer and they attested that he is a straightforward northerner whose word is his bond. My people I called him, completed our negotiation and handed over my file to him and he promised to deliver in a week. I cannot risk waiting for DIY that’s obviously not going to be attended to on time when I need the passport urgently. I just hope the officer’s word is his bond as people testified.

Just rest .. after you pay that money in Lagos, you will still wait. Except it is a high ranking officer, you will surely wait.
If you need passport fast, you start the process early to also avoid stories that touch.

Thanks to all that responded.

I have done the following so far…
1. Bought a file, arranged and filed the required documents in a stipulated order.
2. The originals of LG Identification and Age declaration have been sighted and their copies in the file signed on.

I am now waiting outside as they instructed for them to call me later….

Who knows the next stage?

They have returned my file and I saw two signatures on my application form.
Waiting to capture…
Need to fast rack the passport printing after hearing firsthand stories and also reading from here of all the delays in printing…
One officer has promised to fast track it for the passport to be out in one week and is asking for 20k. Isn’t that much? I was hoping for 10k since I have done most of the work DIY.
I need to passport kinda urgently and cannot afford the delays.

They will call you again to come with your docs and open a file. Sometimes they may ask you to buy the file outside. Depends on whether they have files or not.

Hello guys!! My capture date is June 7th(Next Tuesday) DIY Alausa. I read somewhere here about people going to the Immigration office to open file before the capture date. Please is that compulsory? I just paid online and have gathered all the required documents waiting for the capture date. I don’t have time from work to visit there before the capture date. Even to get my leave approved for that date of capture wasn’t easy.

I quite agree bro but let me shock you. In 2019, i was fed up of all this and i visited MFM on Lagos Ibadan express way. I was there for 3 days for the end of the year deliverance program. It was powerful and i believe that i will be free after the program, I was very optimistic and i was really thanking God because i felt something. An affidavit of age that tallies with your date of birth on your international passport can solve this.

But still try reach out to your school to find out if they can rectify the issue otherwise an affidavit of age is your solution.

Hello bro. Followed you from the Canada thread. I have a dob issue too and need to know how to proceed.
My dob on bsc transcript is incorrect by one year only. The dob on my other documents including waec are the same and different from what’s on my transcript. I want to apply for Canada MSc admission this year and don’t want any issue on it. I have not done an international passport yet.

I am new here and has been reading the thread but need to ask a question that is bordering me.

I want to apply for an Msc in Canada this year 2022. Last year I requested for a student copy of my transcript and noticed that the date of birth on it is wrong and different from the one on my other documents. The day and month is correct, the discrepancy is in the year. I need to visit my school physically to see if the error can be corrected but my work hasn’t given me the time to. I want to know if that can affect my application in anyway. Please I need responses from the experts here.

Move to Germany. It’s in many ways better than Dubai. Remember that in Dubai, your visa is always tied to your work. There is no part to permanent residency in Dubai let alone citizenship.

If you paid an attorney and he/she did such a lousy job, it wouldn’t be bad to ask for a refund.
You never had a real attorney.
Before proceeding with the appeal, make sure you get an attorney that is competent and also believes in you.

Please do us a favor and go back to dig out that reply he gave. I have been following this thread from page one and cannot remember his reply that you are talking about. The OP may not be innocent, he may also not be guilty. So far, there is nothing I have read here that can conclusively pin him to that crime. May be some of you have access to documents that we are not privy to.

OP your defense attorney actually worked as your prosecutor instead of defending you because even though I am not a lawyer, I cannot see any effort he made to let you off the hook.
If you are truly innocent of the crime, please don’t lose hope. Keep fighting. However, don’t use their free government provided attorney again. It should be obvious to you that they will blow your chances. Try and raise money to pay a good defense attorney if you ever want to be free again.
I repeat discontinue the use of their state provided attorney, they are just for formality sake.

The only sister i and my other siblings had met a Man around 2008. He's from Imo state, a deportee from Germany who was in his late 40s when they met. My sister was just out of high school then and struggling to secure admission into any of the tertiary institutions. Luckily, she got admission to study law at Unilag after her second attempt. Sadly, there was no money to process the admission, she lost it. She was the first and only daughter of our parents. My parents were incapacitated financially to support her dream

My father never wanted her to work then, for guys not to take advantage of her or something. Having lost the admission, she insisted to work inorder to raise money for her studies. My dad got no option than to obliged

She met this man barely a year she started working. She was in her early 20s and full of dreams. Lest I forget, she was staying with our grand mother due to distance. This man got my sister pregnant and we got to hear about it. My dad got the man arrested and beat the hell out of my sister. He wept bitterly claiming this isn't the life he envisioned for his only daughter

He beseeched her and talk sense into her but she insisted, claiming she loved the man. This man was deported after spending almost half of his productive years outside the shores of Nigeria. He came back home with nothing and the next thing he could do was to got my sister pregnant claiming he loves her beyond words

My sister moved in with him and they started living together. We lost our grand parents (paternal and maternal) Yet, this man and my sister never stepped their foot in our house to commesorate. I lost my eldest brother, same thing happened. They never showed up. I was the 4th child of five children. Though, only four left now. She hardly call our parents nor we her siblings. To cap it all, my sister had stopped using phone ever since she moved to pourtharcourt with this man

This same man always attend his family function and very much into his family but isolated my sister away from her family. My sister never called throughout my days in the university just to know how I'm fairing, despite knowing our family condition. A very close friend of mine noticed this while in school and i did explained everything to him. He felt so bittered. He asserted the man might be diabolic, he's from the same town with the man in imo state

My parents are in their early/late 60s respectively and aging gradually. They couldn't felt the presence of their only daughter. Interestingly, family members got suspicious and they kept asking after her but my parents are bent on covering up, claiming she's fine. Yet, they goes to their closets to cry bitterly for the life of their daughter. I asked my dad why covering up, he claimed to have known his family pretty well, that they would do nothing
