chibjohn: Like I initially promised, I will distribute N500 airtime to at least 20 people active on this thread. I know most people wouldn't want to post their phone numbers here so it will go like this: 1. Send me a PM 2. I will get your moniker from the PM and use it to ascertain if you are active on the thread. Being active simply means that first you must be an Uber/bolt driver and must have made at least one post on the ehailing thread. 3. If I ascertain that you are active, I will request from you via email the phone number you want the airtime on and the mobile carrier. 4. I will then send the airtime to the phone number you will provide. 5. You will have to come back to the thread to say that you received the airtime.
So it's that simple. Let's get it started.
So far... Received 5 PMs 1.5k airtime sent to 3 monikers Waiting for one person to send his/her phone number. One person didn't qualify... Keep it coming... |

One person that have two monikers here just played a "smart" one and used the two to collect N500 each on two different phone numbers. It was intended for the airtime to be N500 per person no matter how many monikers you have. I will shame the next person that tries that again here. chibjohn: MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!
I have received my money. No the fraudster didn't pay. Our own Radautoworks paid the debt for the scammer. I didn't get it the first time she requested for my banking details because I wasn't expecting that till she asked for it the second time. Even while sending it, I was wondering why she was requesting for it. To cut the long story short. She wired 35k into my account paying for the fraudsters debt. I was wowed by her action. I haven't experienced such magnanimity in my life before and it's such a big lesson. Thank you very much Aunty Radu.
The fraudster actually called me this evening after over a year of blocking me and not answering my calls. I don't if it's because of a stern SMS I sent him earlier or the calls you guys have made to him. Thank you guys for the good work.

I was actually defrauded by a fellow man around August 2018...
So this is February 2020, 18 months after, Chicago(Seyi Popoola, his Facebook name) is still with my 35k. His phone number is 08028482705. I actually have his picture and wouldn't hesitate to post it anywhere. He deserves no mercy. He is a fraudster. I was thinking he is a fellow man that understands after I explained to him of my wedding plans then with the financial obligations that comes with it. He sounds so trusting and convincing when you speak to him but never follows through with his words. I have actually made arrangements with a distant police relative to lure him to a place and arrest him since I don't know his address but that hasn't happened due to time factor. It's still that same car that I started using earlier this year for part time ehailing. Guys if by our collective effort, we can make this guy to refund this 35k, I will use at least 10k from it to distribute airtime to members of this platform. Thanks in advance. |

Wow! Guys I like how you guys team up to shame and recover money from fraudsters. Keep it up. I hope you can help me recover mine too.
I was actually defrauded by a fellow man around August 2018. I had bought a few months naija used honda EOD earlier that year and the seller was magnanimous enough to leave the plate number to me till the cars registration expires at August 2018. When the car registration was getting to expire around August then, I needed to do change of ownership. I was also planning for my wedding that held in November 2018 so I needed to make trips from Lagos to the east in preparation for the wedding. I was to travel at the end of August then so needed to change the car's documents to my name. The cars initial registration was done at Sogunle registration office. I was told that's where the change of ownership can only be done. So, one day I went to Sogunle registration office. I met a lot of jobbers at the gate that were calling and trying to enquire why I came visiting. Due to fear of being scammed(though I was later scammed too) I walked straight into the registration office and enquired from a lady who directed me to their then boss. I met the boss( a middle aged man) and told him that I came to do change of ownership on my car. He called one guy( the scammer), they call him "Chicago"(I later got his real name as Seyi Popoola) and directed me to him that he will help me and do it. Since I was introduced to him by the boss in the office, I thought he was one of the staff there. I later got to know he was one of the jobbers. I also thought that since I had come to the office directly, it was difficult to get scammed. I was so wrong. So I negotiated with "Chicago" to do the job for 48k. He requested for some documents which I provided and transferred 35k as advance payment with the agreement to pay the remaining balance of 13k when he completes the job by handing me the documents at the end of August 2018. That was when my problem started. I gave him the two weeks he said he requested to complete the job. After the two weeks I called him for the papers and his stories started till it got to a point of him blocking me from calling him. His initial story was scarcity of plate number for re-registeration. He said that a different plate numer is used for re-registration from the ones used for new registration. I later go to know that was partially true. There is a re-registration plate number but a new plate number can also be used for re-registration. When I furnished him with that information and even promised to add 7k to the initially agreed 48k just to make him do the job, he started promising to deliver today, tomorrow and next till I got tired. I was planning for my wedding then and was very busy coupled with my job. I explained everything to this guy over the phone. He sounds so genuine and trusting over the phone that after speaking with him, I will let all my guards down till he failed again and again. I was calling him alongside my then fiancee, now my wife, and he was promising both of us which he never fulfiled and I never got back my money. One time he told me he travelled to see his very sick mum and was with her at the hospital for over two weeks and I actually believed and pitied him. When it was obvious he wasn't going to do the job or refund my money, I visited the Sogunle office trying the meet the boss that directed me to him and was shocked to learn that he was transferred to another location. Attempts to get his phone number was futile as the staff their refused to release it instead they all promised to talk to Chicago which didn't yield any positive result till today. That was when I learnt that Chicago was a jobber and not a staff. I had to renew the old documents that made it possible for me to travel with the car then. The highway policemen always asked to speak with the man whose name appears on the car documents. I later did the change of ownership with another agent in August 2019 when the renewal expired. So this is February 2020, 18 months after, Chicago(Seyi Popoola, his Facebook name) is still with my 35k. His phone number is 08028482705. I actually have his picture and wouldn't hesitate to post it anywhere. He deserves no mercy. He is a fraudster. Agboriotejoye: Let me ask you a simple question. What comes first: Investment or profits? That will tell you why I say they never set out to make profits. They saw a pie and jumped at it not an opportunity to be utilized. They have invested first by buying the shares of those companies. That's investment. What you are talking about is growth. |

Agboriotejoye: They are not making profits because they don't want to. They want to make free money. I'll wager that even with the present rates, if they do the needful, they can make massive profits. And you believe that a business man will deliberately not want to make profits? You can believe anything then. The masses on the street do not understand the real issues with the power industry. |

wristbangle: The amount of profit DISCOS rake in is enough to fund a commensurate amount of the national budget.
FG has their short comings but the case of DISCO is like someone who wants to eat his cake and have it. FG has subsided cost of purchasing power yet these evil spirits will estimate bill to kill the populace.
Trust me if Siemens will bill higher but we are enjoying 24hours, I would gladly pay. Some rooms let alone a full building pay 10k per month and they can't boast of 4hours electricity supply in a day. This isn't true. You need to go through the books of those discos. They are just existing and not making profits like you think. That's the major issue. Your minister doesn't have a clue. |

This shows that this minister knows nothing about the issues in the industry. If you think that handing over to siemens will change the industry overnight without the government doing anything, then you will be disappointed. You can't just take over the companies from the discos. It will have to be shares buy back that will run into billions of dollars. Why buy back shares when you can use the funds for new investments into the industry? What the industry need are laws and enforcements that ensure that power tariffs are set for the companies to be profitable, energy theft criminal enforcement should be expedited to deter Nigerians and the govt should create enabling business environment for the discos. |

On his/her matter, like I said I'm seeing bobrisky in him/her, but let's assume she is a female. If she is so incline about seeing a transport system where everything work and use USA as a standard then let her address issues begging for answers
1. What's the role of agbero in a Mega City 2. Why will lasma apprehend a car when d passenger beside the driver refuse to use sit belt (In a developed nation, they hold the passenger responsible not the driver) 3. Lastma have been warn severely to stop jumping into people's car, if d driver refuse to oblige, take the car number and that's all, yet! You see them displaying all manners of madness with drivers on the road 4. If Lastma apprehends one and you get to dia office, b4 you say jack, they have toss you key to one tout, vulcanizer will less your tire immediately... After settling with Lastma, you still have to beg vulcanizer with 1/2k and tout with 500 another 500 for the people at the gate and she is saying uber drivers don't like doing the right thing. 5. Bolt drivers have been victimise in different ways, from riders not paying to all many of vices and car theft, what is d government doing to put life and security in check? since that is the first paramout thing in any success driver society
All these may sound like story to her, but if she careless about the transport system orderliness that seems to be her hobby, but only hackney permit, then I see another heartless and greedy fellow that only cares about the gain in it for her. There is nothing wrong with this o. My wife washes my car. These days she drives it more than I do so why can't she wash it when I am not around, it's dirty and she needs it? Don't get it twisted, women washing their husbands cars isn't bad generally. The circumstance may make it bad. |

xana101: Any idea on how to get the hackney permit? Calm down first... If you get the hackney permit now, what of the operator license? Just wait a little bit and watch it out first. Tell your riders to sit in the front and not at the back unless there is someone in the front. Don't hang your phone on a conspicuous place. Before the trip, give your rider orientation to act as a friend if you get stopped by VIO. Don't pick riders in places that are suspicious. Just wait a little bit... |
