I don't follow celebrities because of their physique, it's more about the content they have to offer. It's high time women abandon this method of sharp sharp gains, it's one of the reasons why the morality of our society is going down the drains.

UyaiIncomparabl:

Building your physique the natural way takes too long. Besides, if you have the money for a cosmetic surgery, go on with it. Live and let live. Most of your favourite celebrities underwent cosmetic surgeries. Abeg. Enough with the judgemental backlash.

Thank God you said 'build' and not wear fake abs and chest. It's high time reasonable women stop supporting rubbish from fellow women. This trend just confirms that most women are perennially lazy and aren't ready to put in genuine valuable efforts to get what they want, what's stopping women from building their physique the natural way.

People have different strengths with regards to self control. Constant exposure to a habit can influence people who aren't mentally strong, Take an example of how water cut through rock over time, regardless of how impervious rocks look. For the sake of the weak, I think the use of drug related content in Nigerian needs to be toned down.

There's nothing wrong with a parent being the first line of defense, it's something I've been advocating for via my previous posts.

As a parent, I'll never depend on a teacher to educate my kids about sex, because I believe I'm more adept at it than they'll be

Now, that's not where the problem lies, what happens to those kids whose parents know next to nothing about Sex Education, it's not every parent that has the capacity that we both have, how do you ensure that every parent takes Sex Education seriously, you're doing your part as a parent, what about the vast multitude of kids your child will be interacting with daily, kids from parents who might or might not take this issue seriously.

I agree that it's risky to just delegate This responsibility to schools, especially when we don't know the mindset of the teachers that'll be interacting with our kids, but I believe that, if both parents and school Authorities can strictly supervise both the syllabus and the personnel handling the course, to prevent any act of subterfuge from the teachers. this might help to mitigate the side effects of this approach.

Personally, I believe it's the primary duty of the parents to give their children Sex Education, but what happens when a lot of parents aren't mentally equipped to do so?

Naira20:
Pal, there's nothing new under the sun.The important thing is know what's right as a parent and instill it.
There's no one cap fits all method.

How can a formal method to handling a sensitive thing as sex or morality be more effective than an informal method? How?? What happens in most formal training is cloning a particular way of doing things. What if you have a gay teacher who has a different view about sex and he subtly influences your child orientation about life?
As a teacher, we do more than talking. We demonstrate and cleverly replicate us into our students.

Why leave morals to another person? Why are you a parent? Fine, you can't be there all the time but be there for them in their formative years. If you aren't ready for children or marriage please steer clear.

It reminds.me of the story a woman told some years ago.
One of her sons came to her and started asking questions apparently because of what they were taught in school -a boarding school.
He asked many questions which the mother answered normally until the young boy begged the mum passionately to UnCloth so he could see her vagina. That was when the mum knew there was trouble.

Imagine the unnecessary curiosity that was engendered in that Innocent boy.

What you show your kid as their first role model is key and must be deliberate. Yes, immorality is prevalent but what are you doing to guide these impressionable minds?
How spiritually sensitive are you to pick things?I'm not talking about dragging kids to church o.If your children know that you can pick things spiritually, they'd be careful.

Away from spirituality.

Which child is more likely to try sex.
The one you told that condom can protect STDs and Pregnancy or the one who never heard about condom but knows the terrible implications of premarital sex?

I never said we should copy the western way of Sex Education verbatim, their methods has its shortcomings, our traditional method of Sex Education isn't working currently either, it's just like putting new wine in an old wine skin, we can't keep regurgitating the same old sayings, we need to upgrade our methods to combat the current societal deficiencies that's our kids encounter everyday. You'll tell your kids that their sexual organ is only for urinating, and that changes only when they get married, right? What happens when they go to school and meet kids who have been exposed to other uses of their sex organs, what happens when those kids educate them on better ways to use their sex organs, and they actually go on and experience the supposed 'better ways' and they find out that it feels better than just using it for urinating. In our current society, you can't hide things from children, except you plan on locking them up till they're about to get married, the best you can do is to exposé them to these things before someone else with a perverse mind does, and once the latter happens, forget it, you've lost that child. Bringing up a child in a godly way isn't as easy as it used to be, the challenges are more now, and if you keep using the same methods our
Elders used, wouldn't that be tantamount to using a primary five syllabus to teach 2nd year students in the University? Sexual predators are getting smarter, isn't it time we got wiser?
Panda7:

there is no reason or anything to talk about with sex, the western world you are talking about are the mainstream producer of pornographic films and are heavily promoting and taxing it which everyone know the wild defection and the corruption that comes with that. they too are also the ones promoting homosexuality and transgender, what would you say or promote about that?? for long as i know and was taught the sex organ was made for urination only unless you are married and wants to make babies or unless you are stalking prostitution.

Ignoring something doesn't automatically make it non-existent, illiterate parents might appear to have More values, but remember that those values were instilled in those illiterate parents when external influences on children were very minimal, you can't compare the environment kids are growing up in now to the environment our parents grew up in, the external influences on kids these days are overwhelming, and instilling values isn't enough. Parents can do help by being better friends to their children, and by educating themselves for the sake of their children, parenthood has gone beyond the stage of just providing the basic 4: food, shelter, clothing, and education. Our kids are In a battle field and it's our responsibility as guardians to equip ourselves with the right knowledge to guide them to a better future. My point is, the old method of just instilling values isn't producing the same results as previously, most kids these days don't understand why they need to remain sexually pure till marriage, even after being drilled with mechanical values, these kids still fall prey to societal manipulations because they are not well equipped to tackle the menace of sexual perversion that's rife in our society, some parents subdued their children so bad they couldn't stand up to elders who wanted to take advantage of them, have you asked yourself why sexual promiscuity is very high among people who live in rural areas, even with all the values the illiterate parents who reside there are supposed to have. As I said earlier, currently most parents, literate and illiterate aren't capable, mentally, biologically, psychologically and spiritually in giving their wards Sex Education, delegating this task to them would mean that we're not ready to make any headways with regards to this issue, currently this issue is bigger than just the parents alone, students spend more time in schools these days, so I don't see why the school shouldn't play a part in this, albeit under strict supervision, the government also has a part to play with regards to censoring a lot of rubbish our kids are exposed to daily, the greatest onus lies with the parents, but are they ready to take up the challenge? And if they are not ready shouldn't we work with alternatives that'll empower our kids so they don't fall prey to sexual predators, and also to guide them so They don't end up abusing their bodies and their souls in pursuit of sexual wokeness.

Naira20:
Pal, some things are basic in parenting. Don't allow anyone deceive you with many of these stories that illiterate parents don't know zilch.
Some of these illiterate parents have values and they instill them.Whilst many of us from educated parents are the ones exposed to nonsense in the name of being woke.
Did you remember the 10year old girl who the "educated" mum alleged was raped when they went on excursion to Dubai?

How many 10 year olds in local schools where sex education was never mentioned would try such?
You think they don't teach sex education in that school?

And Who thinks more about making money at the expense of child discipline? The "educated" parent or illiterate parent?
Besides what the eyes doesn't see, the mouth doesn't water for.

Would you start researching Kreb's Cycle without anyone mentioning it to you?

Education / Re: Erelu Bisi Fayemi Writes To Minister Of Education Over Sex Education by Chiedygirl: 7:04pm On Nov 06, 2022
It all depends on how it's been taught at schools, it won't work if they use the same brick and mortar method being used to teach other subjects. Let's face the reality here, what do majority of parents know about sex, apart from penetration? The problem with most Nigerian parents is that they feel that once they get to a certain stage in their lives, the only thing they should focus on is money, they don't put in any effort to learn new things, the only way they get updated is through newspapers, social media and television programs. What about parents that don't have access to these media, they are left at the mercy of heresay. Parents would have been the best fit to educate the children, but currently they're not mentally and psychologically capable of that, the trend might change with this new generation of parents, but I'm not counting on them either. The reality on ground now is that most parents are incapable of guiding a child to make better decisions with regards to sex, Sex Education goes beyond marital purity and fear of unwanted pregnancies, maybe if parents educated the boys with the same energy they used on the girls, things might be better, maybe if they delved deeper into the biology and psychology of sex, their kids would understand that why they need to keep themselves till marriage. Sex might sound trivial to a lot of folks out there, but just like fire, if it's not managed right, it'll burn us in ways that might be very difficult to heal from.

Naira20:
It's unnecessary pal.
Government should focus on censorship of what's broadcast, strengthening our laws to punish sex offenders, and improving security.

Parents and religious organizations can handle those.
All these stems from what the western world does.
Exposing children to unnecessary things piques their curiosity.

Handling sexual issues isn't academic. Many things are involved.
I believe some knowledge are unnecessary.
Most times you can't guarantee what the teacher would teach.

Isn't it obvious that the Sex Education our parents dish isn't working, apart from 'stay away from boys so you don't get pregnant' and keep 'yourself till marriage so your husband will value you' what other Sex Education do our parents teach, to make it worse, they believe it's only girls that should be educated about sex. The method with which it has been taught isn't producing any result, unwanted teenage pregnancy is on the rise everyday, perverted males keep taking advantage of adolescents like it's a norm now, ladies jumping from one dick to the other in search of oneness because they don't even understand their own biology and psychology. Most of these parents don't even know zilch about sex to start with, that's why they have nothing to teach their kids. Sex Education is very important, we shouldn't necessarily copy everything about the Western World's way of teaching it, but I believe, as adults, we should educate ourselves so we can educate our children, Teachers and parents mostly have a huge part to play in this. I believe with proper Sex Education, we might be able to help our children make better sexual decisions, this will in turn lead to a less chaotic society.

Panda7:

of every science, technology and medical research topping the world every year it is sex lessons we have time for, so sex talk becomes the misleading trending topic everyday. who hasn't heard or being taught about total abstaining from sex and copulation until marriage. is sex also part of economics?

Politics / Re: Ugwuanyi, Security Agencies React To Kidnappings Along Ugwuogo-Opi Road by Chiedygirl: 8:50am On Oct 28, 2022
Insecurity will continue to be a problem in this country, until everyone decides to play an active role in tackling it. In as much the government has the lion's share of solving the security issues, what part are we prepared for play as citizens? Most of the forests in the east where these kidnappers base belong to one community or the other, those kidnappers don't camp in 'no man's land', it's the responsibility of these communities to be more security aware of their hinterlands and report any unusual activity they notice, foreign people can't just come and reside in your forests and you turn a blind eye to it, government security forces can't be everywhere at the same time (and it's obvious they're not even ready to be), most of these kidnappers settle community leaders in the affected areas so they can operate in their forests, I strongly suspect some of the locals are also complicit in the security issues going on around their environment. In as much as the responsibility of tackling this issue majorly lies with the government security agencies, we shouldn't rely on them anymore because it's obvious they've been compromised. Let every community rise up and tackle this security issue from the roots, because these people can't operate without a base, comb your forests and farmland regularly to ensure they're not hideouts for criminals, Involve physical and spiritual methods to root them out if possible. At this point, it's very unfortunate we can't rely on the government Completely to protect us, let's devise ways to help ourselves in any legal ways that we can, at the same time holding the government accountable to their responsibility. Finally let's use our power as voters s wisely in the the forthcoming election.

You're on point, from the comments on this thread, it's very obvious that most ibos, especially those residing in the east have a serious problem with their mindset, they believe their brains were designed for basic automated functions only, critical thinking and analysis is a magic ability to them. The governor is trying to reduce the expenses they incure during ceremonies by helping them cut out unnecessary things they spend on and they're complaining, they want their state to be world class. How many top cities have they traveled to and their roads and streets are defaced with tattered posters and banners. It's these same set of people that believe they should take loans in millions to conduct a lavish burial for the purpose of showing off and fulfilling obsolete and valueless traditional rites at expense of their progress. Majority of ibos mostly the S.E dwellers need to have a paradigm shift in their mentality if they really want to progress in other areas of life apart from wealth generation.

What do you think spiritual problems are? Name one developed country that doesn't have a spiritual problem. I don't have a problem with Nigeria undergoing mental deliverance, because a sound mind leads to a sound spirit. That a country is economically developed doesn't mean it doesn't have its share of spiritual problems, these problems might manifest in a form that's different from the context you associate spiritual problems with, but they're all the same.

From the replies to This post, it's very obvious that a lot of Nigerians are blinded to the battles been waged against them daily, they all think most physical problems just manifest out of thin air, good governance might equate a good material life, but it doesn't stop the kingdom of darkness from the daily war it wages against humans. Physical problems is just one of the problems people are facing currently, and most times physical problems are as a result of spiritual problems, trying to solve the physical without putting the spiritual into the equation will only lead to short term solutions. I don't know authority this man is working with but i think Nigeria as a whole needs spiritual deliverance.

This shows that a lot of folks don't believe in the sanctity of marriage anymore, both the male and female gender are guilty of this, seems like both parties are trying to outdo themselves in the cheating game. Most people get married these days just to fulfil all righteousness, once they get married, they pick up from where they stopped before getting married. It's very worrying, and it might get worse, because our society lays more emphasis on acquiring money, than acquiring values.
