there was a time when one of your clergy told us new comers that the main problem isn't us asking how we will get the $20,there were those who paid the required membership fee but when the discourse came, they ran away. I've been wondering why they "ran away".

If I get you correctly, the clergy was saying it is not just about getting $20 for registration, it is running away?

Well I suppose that was his personal way of saying it's not just about getting the discourses, but getting to know the path better. My interpretation though.
