OreMI22: I have also wondered if Mazi Ezeoke was somehow bias in his presentations of Ebonyi and Anambra airports. I know he once said Anambra airport would not be completed this year while Ebonyi airport would because he trusted Umahi more as a project manager. Anyhow whether he is or not, this airport became a reality before Dave Umahi's hyperbole. Truly i respect what Umahi has done and achieved in Ebonyi state nonetheless. 4 Likes |

globemoney01: Nwanne, daalu rinne! We all did our part to keep the focus on this important project and prevent enemies of Igboland masquerading here as night owls from propagating their narrative of deceit. I am glad that Gov. Obiano totally focused on delivering a top notch truly international standard airport in record time. Apart from creation of Anambra state in 1991, this truly international airport with all the facilities installed is the 2nd most transformative event that has happened in its history. Although many Anambra people and residents won't even realize it yet. Until a few years into the future. Anambra people must now ensure that those intent on using army and police to write and announce fictitious results to declare themselves winners in Anambra election are stopped. God has been with Anambra since Ngige was illegally smuggled into governance and he decided to pitch his tent with the people by being a high performer. Peter Obi went further and created institutions and ultimately bequeathed Obiano as his greatest legacy. Obiano has since transformed the state and now will bequeath the greatest legacy of Prof. C C Soludo (The SOLUTION) to our 3rd world challenges. Even other Nigerian states will benefit from the fresh policies and new approaches executed by Prof. Soludo. So he is also a win for transformative leadership in Nigeria. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Only to turn around When 2019 election in Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi etc ,came up, the same goons gladly lost their voice to allow elections! In exactly the same way they are screaming no erection now because Anambra is involved. Only to be missing in action when its time to protest against elections in Imo and Ebonyi. ANSMEDIA: Most Nigerians have no concept of the significance of an A380 specification runway. Thus, most people don't understand the significance that an African runway meets the specification. That is an A380 aircraft being able to land in such a runway of adequate length of at least 3.5KM, breadth of 60M, clearance of at least 140 meters on both sides of the runway, and a runway approach ILS Cat 2 RESA of at least 1KM. However, if you see an A380, then you suddenly realize that the regular Boeing 737 or even the massive Boeing 777 are actually toys when they stand next to it. Similar to how a VW beetle car would look parked next to an 18 wheel trailer truck. Thus, that is why few international airports meet the A380 runway & ILS CAT II systems specification. Hopefully, more African airports will aspire to meet this runway specification so that more A380s will have confidence flying over Africa. Knowing there are many runways where it could land in emergencies. It helps to decrease airfares between Africa and rest of the world. Thus boosting the ease of doing business in Africa. The next administration should endeavor to build a taxiway parallel to the runway (i.e. terminates at both ends of the runway) as the airport becomes busier. So that airplanes will use the runway only for takeoff and landing and not taxing on it after landing. What is worth doing at all is worth doing well. After all said and done, kudos must be given to Gov. Obiano for not cutting corners as is typical with African airports that are only "International" in name. Yet have no facilities at all to conduct international operations safely. Gov. Obiano's determination to provide all the necessary facilities for smooth and safe international operations by day or night at this airport is a big boost to world-class aviation development in Nigeria and West Africa. 7 Likes 2 Shares

I wasted my data thinking this was an original video where the person had different angles and new things to add. Omooba77: Where are those people asking for more borrowing arguing that our Debt - GDP ratio was lower than America's and Japan's. While failing to mention that Japan and America were highly productive nations that did not depend on the price of crude oil and their diaspora remittances to get foreign exchange. Those deceitful people are now silent after they misled this country into another debt trap. The sad truth is that the debt servicing bill will continue to rise from 73% to surpass 100% of revenue in a very short period. As we continue the mindless borrowing policy based on the dubious GDP - Debt ratio. 23 Likes 3 Shares

giftibo: Ijaw miscreants are drunk on their burukutu. Why are they stopping in Akwa Ibom and Lagos? Do you mean there are no "Ijaw clans" in Cameroon and Benin Republic? They should extend Ijaw land to include to South Africa and Sierra Leone where they originated. it's easy to dream on annexing people's territory. The hard part is to actually kill off the people and take their land as "Ijaw clan" Eventually, these migrant fishermen from Sierra Leone disturbing and annexing Nigerian coastal towns and villages will be sent back to where they migrated from. 7 Likes |

OreMI22: I am so proud of what Obiano has done in this airport! The man insists on QUALITY which makes him stand out from any average Southeast governor or even Nigerian governors. Part of my pain with Nigerian projects were the stubborn desire to make every project in the 3rd world standard! Even while other countries in Asia and around the world modernize, we were all stuck in the 1930s - 1940s standard of airports, road design, public buildings, train coaches, railroads, etc. It is very refreshing to see a governor that takes the pain to do things right. The insistence on installing the runway center lights to guarantee easy identification and safe landing at night as is obtainable abroad makes Obiano a true hero! I am glad, they have decided to open the airport for public use this month. As they do the little finishing touches. Congratulations to Anambra state! Congratulations to Southeast Nigeria! Congratulations to Nigeria for a brand new TRULY INTERNATIONAL-STANDARD airport in the country. 11 Likes 2 Shares

PROUDIGBO: Even a fool knows its Fulani military death squad doing all these senseless killings to try and make people unsympathetic to IPOB by trying to blame their senseless violence against Igbos on IPOB. They have already failed because its clear when you connect the dots and the people they senselessly murder. I was at the brink of asking IPOB to reconsider, but you can clearly see that some Fulanis are so thirsty for the blood of southerners to achieve their pipe dream of dominating southern Nigeria forever. Their next game is to capture innocent igbo boys and torture them to make "confessional " statements that they committed these crimes. To deceive the gullible and pitifully naive ones. The Fulanis can continue their evil , bloody orgy they call "takiya games" in Nigeria. It changes nothing. They will eventually learn that no matter how many people they murder, they cannot break the will of the people. Judgement day for all these crimes and wasting of innocent lives to play southerners against eachother or play Igbos against IPOB is coming. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

OreMI22: One hopes they will get the fire trucks required in the interim to get the airport operational to commercial flights before the end of the month. While the new ones expected from Germany can arrive later in the year. This airport needs to become operational right now under Obiano, else it could suffer the same fate as the Enugu Internatioanl conference center which was 90% completed under Gov. Chimaroke, but Gov. Chime and Ugwuanyi decided to abandon the project all the same. The best way to ensure a legacy is to see to it that it became operational under the governor that built it. Else subsequent people could be funny the way they abandon projects by their predecessors and start their own brand new projects while other nearly completed projects are allowed to be over grown by weed. Every time Engr. Ifejiofor talks about creating a wall to separate the two avio-bridges so that one is used for arrivals only and one is used for departures only to block off arriving and departing passengers from coming in contact, i wonder why? To begin with, before you get on an airplane you must clear security. Just like before you are allowed to sit in the departure lounge, you must clear security. Therefore, anyone coming down from an airplane or anyone sitting in the departure lounge/hall of an airport has already been searched and cleared security. Thus, in airports worldwide, those coming down from an airplane and those sitting in the departure lounge are in the "SAFE" or secured area of the airport. Meaning people in an area where only those who have cleared security searches are allowed. The second point that makes the idea of dedicating one avio bridge strictly for arrival and another strictly for departure is that an airplane coming in from Lagos to Umueri is deemed an arriving airplane. Once its Lagos passengers disembark and the passengers flying from Umueri to Lagos begin to board the same plane, it automatically becomes a departing plane! This can sometimes occur within a space of 30 minutes! Therefore, if you dedicate one avio-bridge for arrival and another strictly for departure, you will have to push out an arriving plane from the "arrival avio-bridge" to a "departure avio-bridge" every few minutes for the departing passengers to board. This is an unnecessary chaotic process. Which is NEVER done in any airport in the world. Even airports with hundreds of push-back trucks (Like those in the picture below) are not able to implement such a chaotic process of moving around airplanes on the tarmac from an arrival avio-bridge to a departure avio-bridge every few minutes! Talk more an airport in Nigeria without adequate number of push-back trucks to move airplanes around the tarmac (Apron) every few minutes! I hope the wall the Commissioner is building to separate arriving and departing passengers at least has a DOOR that will allow departing passengers to board the plane once it has totally disembarked all arriving passengers. I don't know where the strange advice of building a wall came from, but it is definitely not an international best practice and it is totally destined to fail at Anambra International airport because it will entail the moving of arrival planes to the departure avio-bridge every few minutes which will be chaotic and A LOT of accidents will occur during the unnecessary movement of planes from one avio-bridge to the next. 13 Likes 2 Shares

investnow2013: Many communities benefitted from the N50 million choose your project to build themselves a befitting modern market. Street trading laws should be enforced especially in communities that now have a befitting modern market. The state government should enforce movement into the new modern market to end street trading in the old site. Often some people are always stubborn to obey simple laws because the state does not enforce its own laws. Those still trading in the old market along the street should have their wares are confiscated by a task force, and they pay fines if they open any shop in the illegal old site. Sometimes our people will do even what is beneficial to them only when it is enforced by government. 1 Like |

Whatever makes some people think that Ethiopia can run an MRO with less-educated citizens than Nigeria with better-educated citizens. They need to engage cleaners now to begin cleaning the floors at least twice daily. It would take at least one week of cleaning before polishing can be applied to the tiles. Also, it helps to train the janitors on how to constantly clean a buys airport with people walking around every minute. It further helps whoever is the janitors' manager at the airport to designate and supervise who cleans what and where before the airport opens to the public. 6 Likes 1 Share
