gordonbarrett: Excellent update. It's refreshing to observe that the three super crash tenders made it safely to the airport! This brings the number of crash tender engines at the airport to a whopping five in number! Now, only Nigerian politics is the obstacle to starting international cargo flights as authorized in the airport's construction permit. Those who say Obiano did not work should cover their ugly faces. I am grateful that Obiano insisted on international best practices and standards in all he did. As opposed to the typical southeast mentality of "managing" with second-hand equipment or even building an imitation crash tender "to save cost". 12 Likes 1 Share

Chikeluba25: Whether Obiano left more assets that he is given credit for, than liabilities being blown with trumpet now. Prof. Soludo has ZERO EXCUSE not to perform. We all have high expectations of Prof Soludo to come and fix the broken system and he must move on and deliver on his promises. Anambra today is an oil producing state due to Obiano's efforts. Yet, he did not benefit a penny from all the effort that he invested. Today you see all sorts of politicians vying for Igbo presidency and crying to take over from Buhari to fix Nigeria. It will amount to 419 if we elect them and they start crying about Buhari's debt instead of working hard to fix the country we elected him to fix. As if they don't know right now that there will be debt and they are still vying to be elected to do things differently and fix the country. I am glad that Obiano left many solid legacies as opposed to those who would leave liabilities with zero legacies. Some of Obiano's legacies will also generate new sources of revenue for the government. Which was not there during Obiano's administration. Prof Soludo, with all due respect, i think i speak for many if i state that we will not take this as an excuse. Please find alternative ways to deliver on your promises because disappointing us will be a huge trauma. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

ezewealth: Truth is that Obiano is merely being humiliated by a Fulani oligarch in power. Abusing a federal institution like EFCC to humuliate Igbo leaders is unacceptable. If EFCC targets and punish well known common criminals of Igbo descent who have now joined APC to stay immune, Igbos would be grateful. But they won't do that because their intentions are to promote the worst Igbo characters and tarnish the image of igbo icons. Disgracing some of the best performing Igbo political leaders because he called out a Fulani attorney general over his wicked plot in Anambra state is generating a lot of anger towards fulanis and how they think and treat Igbos are slaves in Nigeria. No fulani governor with Obiano's level of achievements will be treated like this simply for publicly stating the evil intentions of an Igbo attorney general in a northwest state. No present or past northwest governor with Obiano's level of meagre resources achieved 10 percent of Obiano's achievements. Yet, Fulanis will not use EFCC to harrass and humiliate them like this. It is clear the same Fulani people promote Igbo thieves just because they are in their APC and harrass true Igbo heroes who developed Igboland using the fulani domination of the federal government against such Igbo citizens. Believe me, in time the anger from these types of deliberate humiliation of illustrious Igbo leaders will have consequences for even ordinary fulani people. Mark these words of wisdom today. 1 Like 1 Share |

ProudImolite: Why Imo and Ebonyi people always lose sleep over the development of Anambra is what still baffles me. Biko, did Anambra people do something to you guys? What exactly is your problem why you people seem never to want anything good for Anambra? I am still trying to figure this thing out. Please forgive me for the generalization. I do know its not ALL Imo or ALL Ebonyi people. But, i have noticed that these two states seem to harbor the worst, rabid anti-Anambra elements in Igboland. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

AsomughaChuks05: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BIC9U8p37g Obiano has remained a HUGE blessing to Anambra state. His courage to confront and solve big problems, as well as dare to provide infrastructure deemed "impossible" for a relatively poor state like Anambra, will always endear him to my heart. I pray Soludo will follow in the footstep of men who see a problem and throw in all their energy and intellect towards solving it. Instead of those governors that specialize in making empty long speeches to exonerate themselves and blame others for why they could not perform due to Ukraine war or some other spurious excuse. Akpokuedike, you came, you saw and you conquered. You have deservedly written your name in the sands of time. Thank you for giving us a man like Soludo to continue the journey where you stopped. Another Government lie to hide the billions they are earning from oil right now while refusing the import fuel to keep the nation's economy working. Today's crude oil Price, Nigerian oil (Bonny Light) is currently at $106.84 dollars! If Nigeria were a serious country, it would license hundreds of modular refineries in states where oil is found. BUT, Nigeria would not do that because it wants DANGOTE to have petroleum products MONOPOLY the same way they created cement monopoly for Dangote. The result is that each time there is a spike in international oil price, we use some of the gains made from sale of crude at a higher price to import refined petroleum products. Nigerians will suffer the effect of higher prices and scarcity which the Nigerian leaders do not care about as long as they restrict petroleum products license to their cronies like DANGOTE Imagine how wealthy Nigeria would be if they open up the downstream petroleum refining sector to private investors (Not Only DANGOTE) the way they opened our telecoms sector to private telecoms investors. Pacesetterz: Exactly! Soludo MUST go to Kigali or send someone there ASAP to learn how Rwanda transformed a LAWLESS society into an orderly developing society. Unless we have and enforce basic societal laws on sanitation and orderliness, our society will continue to be chaotic and dysfunctional. Rwanda was able to reverse this sense of lawlessness among Africans and turned their country into a beautiful developing part of Africa in less than 10 years! The ghost of the Biafran war where everything was an ad-hoc measure and things were done just to survive the moment is still a hangover with the way things are done in Igboland. We have to develop STANDARD protocols for everything and have enforcement units to enforce our standards. In Rwanda today, the government has standard width for the roads, the standard for planting trees and flowers along roads, the standard process of wrapping one's household trash, the standard for trash to be picked up in plastic bags from the front of buildings. They have the standard distance that every house must clear from the road, they have the standard way that commercial shops can be built by individuals, etc. Unless we come back to what our standards should be and enforce them, the total LAWLESSNESS of Nigeria will not allow Soludo to achieve anything. We must start from the basics of setting up basic sanitation laws and enforcing them with consequences for those who break our laws. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4D3qTyOfpI 7 Likes 1 Share |

Kellzzyy: Nwokem, Stop insinuating the airport was substandard. It is not. All over the world, storms damage building roofs. This isn't even the first time wind storms have damaged the roof of buildings in Nigeria. More will still happen this year. So stop being silly. All of you rejoicing at windstorm damage at Anambra International airport are pathetic. It clearly exposes your bitterness that Anambra finally has an airport. I have news for you, it will be fixed in less than 2 days. Ndi uchu! 2 Likes 1 Share |

investnow2013: EXACTLY! It is better to have 2 or 3 achievable legacy projects and COMPLETE them. Than to start the Anambra light rail project or other massive capital intensive legacy projects at the twilight of one's administration and then abandon it to become the burden of the next administration. It is very unfair to do that. I prayed so hard that Obiano should complete his legacy projects before leaving office. So that the fate of the 80% completed Enugu ICC that has been abandoned for more than 16 years now would befall Anambra state. 5 Likes

OreMI22: Although I'm staunchly a peter obi supporter, the total failure to deliver any of his legacy projects except the Agulu Lake hotel and Onitsha mall completed by Obiano underscores his very poor planning and delivery abilities as a manager. Compared to Obiano that supervised and COMPLETED his legacy projects without abandoning any to the next administration. Of course, Soludo would not complain if Obiano abandoned his legacy projects for the Soludo administration. But Obiano went ahead and completed his legacy projects so that Soludo can focus on his own projects. Just imagine how highly Peter Obi would have been rated in projects delivery if he delivered any of his legacy projects of Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka malls as well as Agulu and Onitsha hotels instead of abandoning them to become the burden of the next government. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

AsomughaChuks05: Quietly waiting for our Ebonyi and Imo state brothers to surface and tell Anambra people that they cannot honor their governor by naming any state-government legacy project after him. Meanwhile, they pretend not to know that David Nweze already named a University still under construction in Uburu after himself, and our Imo brothers will also forget that they named an airport after the Imo governor that initiated but did not complete the project. Sometimes the hypocrisy and double standards exhibited by our brothers when it comes to Anambra annoy me. I say this because two of my Imo friends already protested against naming Anambra airport after Obiano. Thus, I reminded them that Chief Sam Mbakwe did not do as many projects as Obiano did, and did not even complete the Imo Airport. Yet, he had the honor of the facility named after him. Same as Gov Victor Attah of Akwa Ibom that only initiated but did not complete the Uyo airport. Of course, I have nothing against Gov Sam Mbakwe Or Gov David Umahi. But honor to whom honor is due is a great way to foster excellence and performance in government. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Politics / Re: Obasanjo Lands At Anambra International Airport Ahead Of Anyaoku Symposium by ChimaAdeoye: 12:53pm On Mar 09, 2022 |
I love how Obasanjo explained his initial apprehension and feeling after landing at Anambra International airport. when the pilot said we would land in Anambra in about 30 minutes, I wondered if he truly knew there was no airport there! But when he repeated it again, I realized that perhaps something shoddy had been put there which was likely unsafe and substandard. However, upon landing, I looked through the window and exclaimed at the length of the well-paved runway. Then I saw the other facilities and the terminal. I was totally impressed. When I asked the governor when this miracle occurred, he explained that it was done in 15 months without borrowing a penny! Wow!!! Truly, everyone must commend Willie Obiano for daring to do the impossible and achieving it in record time! Remember Obasanjo built the modern Murtala Mohammed Intl airport, Lagos as a Head of State in 1979. So he knows how capital intensive a project like this and runway of that length costs. That was perhaps why he specifically mentioned the runway because he had first-hand experience on the huge cost involved in building even 1KM of an international airport runway. 1 Like 1 Share |

10 million votes from Where exactly?? When IPOB will declare Ofe-Nsala Day on election day? Anyone pushing a southern candidate for the PDP only intends the APC to win and continue their stranglehold on Nigeria. Only a popular northern candidate for the PDP can wrestle power from APC and they won't be able to rig it and make it a north-south dispute or Muslim - Christian dispute. Mind you i am a Christian and PDP supporter. But I'm not being sentimental about the realities of 2023. APC is strongly pushing for a southern candidate for the PDP because that error holds all the permutations for them to declare that they won the 2023 elections without civil disobedience or any significant challenge when they declare their rigged result. 1 Like |

You'd wonder why Dangote and other fabulously wealthy Fulani sons cannot buy a small private plane worth less than $150,000 dollars for their Emir? In Nigeria, there are more than 50 companies where dignitaries can hire private jets. Every notable dignitary in Nigeria including Senators uses these private plane companies to move around Nigeria. WHY NOT THE EMIR USE ONE OF THESE PRIVATE JET COMPANIES? Instead of creating unnecessary tension by booking commercial flight tickets on airline companies, they want to target and hold the entire plane to ransom because he would not appear on time and the plane dares not to take off else, they would hear from Fulani people in government.
