I have observed Soludo for a while and I am glad that he lived up to our expectations as THE SOLUTION!

If he can complete all the roads he is doing in Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia, then we can right call him Prof SOLUTION aka The ROADMASTER!

Soludo will transform Anambra cities and make them habitable if he completes all those urban roads with sidewalks, street lights, and well-designed drainages. No governor before him will come close to his achievements because he tackled the hardest task of developing Anambra which every other governor since 1976 artfully dodged. He stopped the sluming of Anambra in the name of "development" where people build on gutters, block the end of a street and build a house there, and many other lawless things that no governor dared to confront the perpetrators and correct the decay of our cities. After all, no former Anambra governor dared to demolish buildings and do some politically "unpopular" but right things to return to the master plan of Anambra's cities.

I am personally shocked that he dares to even dualize Iweka Road, Isu Anaocha Road, and more. Imagine how Anambra cities will look upon completion of these key city roads with walkways and all! Soludo is truly a ROADMASTER in the making!

What is it with the current ministry of work and delay of contacts and work? Thank God work has finally resume on Enugu/Onitsha expressway after work was stopped because of construction issue between RCC and the new minister of works; though the matter which is on the table of the Senate has not been resolved completely.

The minister of works is insisting that all federal roads should be concrete Base instead of stone base which RCC are using.
For me; well constructed stone base which has proven to be best and stand test of time is better than over hyped concrete base. Concrete base crakes/ tear months after completion. What happens is... When concrete base road is heated under normal temperature, it expands on the lines (point) were the concrete are joined by square meters, coursing crack and tear on the concrete base/ asphalt.

The focus on tax without benefits is why people don't pay tax. Tell the Onitsha trader that all tax goes to a pot called Onitsha Roads, another pot called Schools in Onitsha and another called health care centers and public hospitals in Onitsha and watch people pay. That's called bringing govt closer to the people.

Same goes for Awka, you have estates like Udoka, Ngozika with multi million naira homes and rubbish roads. But if you charged every property in those estates a one time road development fee of 2m and an annual road maintenance fee of 100,000 a year then those estates would have befitting roads.

You cannot tax cities to build rural roads or bridges in the middle of nowhere. Tax should stay local. Markets should be taxed to evacuated their rubbish, police the perimeter not taking it from FAAC. Same goes for commercial roads. All shops along those roads should be taxed to clear the gutters then they would not be so filthy

In this digital era, states are in a haste to setup tax identification systems to tax payers without looking at the other role of government which is SERVICE DELIVERY!

An ID should not just be for tax payments but for social benefits. An Id for a child for example can be used to gift and track subsidized school fees, track immunizations, etc. An ID for a mother can deliver public antenatal care, drugs, etc. For residents it can provide access to subsidized state transport.

An ID system should provide govt not just with a view on IGR but a fine grained view on how public services are delivered.

I want to see charts not on IGR but how much each state spends per resident on education, health, waste collection, on roads, water, etc.

The drive of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, toward tackling the erosion menace in Anambra State has been made good by the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) approving the release of the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty-Six Million Naira (N256,000,000.00) for erosion control works at the Nnobi Section of Nnobi-Nkpor Road in favour of IDC Infrastructure Development Construction Company.

The job is expected to be completed in four (4) months from the date of the payment of the mobilization fee.

Equally approved is the release of the sum of Two Billion, One Hundred Million Naira (N2,100,000,000.00) for the Reconstruction of Bank Road - St. Marys Cathedral Church Road, Uruagu, Nnewi.

The contract was awarded to Roadwell Contracting Limited with a completion period of nine (9) months from the date of the payment of the mobilization fee.

Brother take a look at that road leading to the bonded terminals… do you see how thin it is? How will those roads be efficient… both in durability and space. That road will be plied by huge lorries with Heavy containers. Will it be those Golgotha roads that will carry them? Also the business are already bracing for expansion and ANSG can’t anticipate and do some thing quickly
You see why I frown at the roads ANSG builds? Our Government is not proactive at all… i cry and wail for wide and durable roads. And when they construct roads they term some rural roads being a reason why they can’t construct wides roads even when both sides are empty with covered drains slight poles and traffic lights. This tells you they are not in tune that Anambra is developing all round.
Later we will start begging them to dualized some roads after is heavily or densely occupied on both sides which is almost an impossible request..You see is foolishness.

Is this how we become a developed city ? They should make a laws ; henceforth how new roads will be built… to stop this mediocrity every where
