If the Federal Government is marginalizing the South East, the Igbo people should not also marginalize themselves by starving their land of investments. If more Igbo men move their business headquarters to Igbo land, it will attract more investors, both local and foreign. Forget about investing in any Ibeno and focus on Igbo land. A

Thank you to Anambra First Son TV for shedding light on these long-standing issues within our community. Personally, I've grown weary of pleading with our people to change their ways. Let them persist in their folly, but they must also accept the consequences that may arise from their greed and shortsightedness in the future.

Recently, I've been troubled by individuals who are overly distraught about the proposed demolition of the Landmark mall in Lagos? My question to them is simple: how can one expect to be an Igbo person and own the largest mall in another community without considering the feelings and perspectives of the ancestral owners of that land? Are we really that daft to see everything strictly from the lens of profit and loss considerations?

Those who make such miscalculations must be prepared to bear the losses themselves when things inevitably go awry. Those who live in a rainforest but fail to have a fall-back plan in case it rains should be prepared to become drenched when it inevitably rains. It is a proverb and advice for those who fail to reason while living in a tribalist and divided country such as Nigeria.

However, it's important to remind these individuals that they have a home state that they've neglected in pursuit of their ambitions to dominate others in foreign territories. They only seem to remember their roots when the consequences of their actions catch up to them. That's all I have to say on the matter.

I have been looking for who to ponder this issue with me.

I’m so uncomfortable with Peter Obi’s policy of focusing on only the northern poor people to provide them with water. In my own hometown of Aboh, we don’t have boreholes and would gladly love to get water courtesy of Peter Obi’s benevolence.

The idea that if one could only be a “nationalist” if one prioritized and solved only the problems of the northern poor. Both northern or southern Presidents except perhaps Tinubu prioritized northern Nigeria to their profound miscalculation and folly. Goodluck Johnathan tried the same strategy and also failed woefully like Zik before him. Peter Obi must understand that Nnamdi Azikiwe was born in Zungeru in northern Nigeria. He spoke Hausa better than he spoke Igbo. He prioritized the welfare of northern Nigerians and willingly gave the Prime Ministerial position to the north and took a ceremonial President role. After all that, it didn’t make any northerner not to see Zik as Igbo and still supported even the least competent northerner instead of Zik.

Someone should point out to Peter Obi that many communities in Ekwusigo,Ogboji, Achina, Umunze, Ogbunka also have severe challenges with portable water and would be happy to benefit from his boreholes benevolence. Not to mention some communities in Opi, Ede-Oballa, Ehamufu, Ezzamgbo, Okpanku, in northern Igboland where portable water has been a challenge for more than 60 years. These people are frustrated that they are neither remembered by the FG nor our own Peter Obi. Instead it is the same northerners favoured in every Federal government project in the Nigeria that again are the benefactors of every good thing offered by even non-northerners like Peter Obi! Please we should stop taking the southern communities for granted!

Meanwhile it is clear that Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential elections. Till date, the tallied votes on Rivers State IREV portal shows Peter Obi won in Rivers State. Yet his mandate was stolen by INEC and given to those who the Godfathers of Nigeria wanted. What guarantee is there that in 2027, even if Peter Obi wins by a bigger landslide than in 2023, INEC would not do the same thing and the Supreme Court of Injustice would cement the heist.

What I expected was a concerted effort to ensure that INEC only conducted elections but cannot declare winners because that role is outside their legal role as an election umpire.

I would love the Eastern governors especially Mba to follow the way of Otti to achieve a comprehensive covered drainage on road construction.

Instead of making ditch and gutters by the sides of the roads, the contractors should rather dig a deep drainage in the middle of road at stretch then cover it with manholes at strategic points to allow run off collections, then the contractor can just build or construct a proper walkways by the sides of the roads. A win win situation for everyone...


Ugwuanyi did this at some section of the Opi-Nsukka road solidly constructed by RCC.

Instead of waiting for the Federal Government to build railways for us, which is very unlikely to happen in 100 years, we can help ourselves by doing what is needed to reduce the cost and stress of moving goods and services within the region.

Here's the plan: We'll create a company called the "Eastern Corridor Railways Corporation (ECRC)" to build a regional railway line. Which is separate from the national Port Harcourt to Maiduguri Nigerian railway line. The Southeast and South-South Governors will work together to get permission from the Federal Government for the Eastern Regional Railway Network project.

Each state that benefits from the railway will invest 1% of its budget into the company. This money will help get the project started, and in return, the states will receive shares in the company.

Next, we'll invite foreign companies to bid on the construction work. They'll build the railway using a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) arrangement, where they'll invest their own money and operate the railway for 100 years before transferring it back to us.

By following these steps, we can make this project a reality and improve economic activity in our regions. Just imagine being able to travel from Calabar to Onitsha or Port Harcourt in a comfortable, air-conditioned train in just a few hours. Or transporting goods from Afikpo to Port Harcourt without worrying about bad roads or police harassment.

If the railway is less than 1,000 kilometers long, the total cost should be less than $1 billion. We can finance this through loans from organizations like the World Bank and China Exim Bank. A five-year plan with $200 million each year seems like a reasonable timeframe.

It is easy to cite Americans, Japanese, or Germans as the people we should copy. But you fail to also copy their BEHAVIOR / MINDSET! No American, German, or Japanese would take trash from their homes and dump it in the street or into drainage gutters hoping the flood would carry the trash to the River Mississippi. That is the underlying difference between the people who live in those countries and the behavior of our people! If you take Nigerians to America and bring Americans to Nigeria, in less than 2 years, they will make our cities look sparkling clean with flowers and trees all over, while we would make New York and Los Angeles look like piggeries with decaying trashing filled gutters and underground drainage seeping out sewage onto the streets. That my friend is the DIFFERENCE! Our people are still getting accustomed to the tenets of modern city life. Unfortunately, previous governments paid zero attention to environmental sanitation, so our people assume that it is perfectly okay to litter and pollute their environment as much as possible. So long as they sweep inside of their homes. The exterior can be a pile of trash and nobody cares.

If someone hears you talking like this they would think you are the type that does not throw trash on the street or properly bag your refuse and drive to authorized places to dispose of them. Or they would believe that you will gladly pay taxes without being chased around. An average American or German would do these things on their own without waiting for the government to chase them around before doing the right thing!

The problem with most of you is MINDSET! Nigerians are the most difficult people to govern and Igbos have learned and imbibed that recalcitrant attitude. Imagine that people asked to stop trading on the street and blocking the free flow of traffic would return to the same spot immediately after the enforcement team moved to another location. Until the enforcement team returns with clubs and begins to damage their wares to forcefully make them comply! There is a total disregard for the laws and norms of a sane society.

Who are the characters that won the revenue generation contracts? I am yet to believe soludo has fully emencipated himself from these party goons..........or is he busy feathering his own nest? Nwanne i totally agree with you. My concern with some people is where they have to put Anambra on a spot as if Anambra is a different entity aside Nigeria. Everyone knows that Nigeria as a whole is a shithole, I have been to some developed countries so I know this for a fact. I have been to almost everywhere in Nigeria , they are all same with little difference maybe in housing patterns but they are still run by the same black people and their below per leadership
