adamx23: https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/bp-ditch-renewables-goals-return-focus-fossil-fuels-2025-02-24/ Transition from mainstay electric power solution to another is not as easy as Telecom, software or electronics as Streetinvestor2 highlighted. Even if capital is available. Time-factor of money just as Mobility, portability and miniaturisation still needs a significant development. Until capable tenants can comfortably install solar in his/her rented apartment in Nigeria just as they can afford to buy Generators. It isn't decentralized yet. Solar/battery breakthrough will be mostly in cars. Cuz it's Mobile, portable, less time transition factor, etc No doubt. Na only hydrogen breakthrough I dey fear for now.. |

Sand Silos! Omo interesting.. But this is more like improvising rather than what a future breakthrough will come out from. Sha, Thank God Trump-Musk don pause majority of research sponsorships. Anyway, I’m done derailing. Yes, on geothermal, heard about it but dont really know how that works as you guessed. But I am more scared of renewable energy breakthrough on Hydrogen than Solar, geothermal, etc. Learnt Akwaibom recently signed a Generation deal with China. emmaodet: Lol. There will always be demand for oil but it will keep dropping. If the world used 1 million barrels of oil last year as example, with 1 out of 4 cars been EV, it means demand will like drop to 800 thousand barrels and the more EV eats into oil driven cars, the lower the demands. The medium to long term fundamentals of oil doesn't look encouraging. Any oil stock I am holding that the revenue keeps dropping by 5% quarter on quarter for 3 straight quarter, I will sell the stock. I won't wait until I go down with it. Though, there is hope for oil sha. It has to drastically reducing running cost of drilling oil - cost of sales and operating expenses. The era of extravagant spending, reckless spending and wasteful spending is gradually going. It cost 15-20k dollars per day to hire an offshore supply vessel, this can be reduced to $5k per day. Rigs are between $150-200 per day. Drill ships are around $500k per day Accomodation barges around $200k per day. All this have to reduce by 50-75% Crew salaries will have to go down too. My colleagues earning $250-500 per day in Saudi and Co will have to get used to $50 per day. In my previous company, barge masters take $1,200-1,500 per day, they will have to get used to $150 per day. My current company feeding cost for crew is $30 per day per crew. That is around 45-50k per day to feed one person which 1.5m to feed one person times around 16 crew. To me, that is wastefulness. Abeg how much I take they feed my whole family per month? I understand this is west standard and not Africa mentality of feeding nor Asians but then, there is too much wastefulness. And so many other that can bring down the cost of oil to like $20/barrel and #100 per liters fuel at pump station Well, the drop in demand will be felt more with cars than machineries. Yes, opex cost is another factor in the sector. |

I learnt lifting 1 of such cylinders na night mare Takes the entire car occupant What's that story of Malaysia banning CNG and returning to Petrol due to hazard or so..(even though both Na fossil) Germany of all countries who are the super powers of renewable energy in Europe could not practicalize what they sanctioned-Ban on Russian oil. Na them still import the oil pass to power their industries despite their solar advocacy and consumption. Most solar related products are like the Android-Go OS Version of main android OS Or rather the Browser Lite version of main browsers They can't realy compare to heavy load requirements of their counterparts without efficiency being affected. How about the Solar functionality during winter season of 3-5months in these western and European countries? Moon dey sha Powering precision industrial equipments 24/7, not to mention 3-phase motors without redundancy and high initial starting capacity? 2. In 2018, T&T exported 12.2m tonnes of LNG, making it the 8th largest exporter of the commodity worldwide, with a 3.9% share of the international market, according to the International Gas Union (IGU).
3. The Refinery in question (also called Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery) is a 168 Mbpd oil refinery. It happens to be the ONLY refinery in T&T 🤔. It was shutdown in 2018 due to very poor gross refining margin. At this time over 70% of the refined crude was imported. The source of imports were from Russia, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Nigeria, DRC and Gabon.
4. T&T has a daily local demand of about 32.5 mbpd. If OandO can get the Refinery running at min 50% capacity they will be getting 84 mbpd. That leaves an excess of over 50 mbpd for export.
For context, the trading arm of OandO generated about 57% of their annual income in 2023. A foreign influx of USD revenue cannot be ignored. ..
OandO Group has tried severally to own a refinery either by building or acquisition. See https://www.oandoplc.com/press-release/oando-completes-detailed-bankable-feasibility-on-its-oil-refinery

zendi: It depends on where you believe the bus is going. During the last great Oando bull, I bought my first tranche at N18, after the court poured cold water on delisting. Not yet satisfied, I raised money and chased down the bus to Ji again, very violently, at just under 30. That day, do you think I cared if I was buying at the high or low percentage of the day? I didn't. I wanted to Ji by force or fire because I thought the bus was headed to km 200, delisting having just been dealt a blow.
I later Jo'd at km79 with heathy loot. Was I a mumu?

Streetinvestor2: When did you see 30-35 pre split. And you are talking of sound stock that has been making revenue/profit since inception to something I don't know whr to start for now. I have learnt my lesson since I am not in partnership with my village people from sugar. I will not even keep any stock again that has straight two quater progressive bad results. Unless for jijo I will not touch any stock with bad results.I don't need any stock that will be Andrew liver salt in my portfolio because it lacks foundation. I did not gamble to get the money. I do serious active businesses for the cash. Once any stock in my investment portfolio has 2 progressive detorating quater results. ...it is gone even oando . If the person was serious and not follow follow. He should have bought long when the stock was at below #10 for long. Why wait to chase the stock when on the move. Look at transcorp plc after reconstruction. It was stable for 42/43.You wait to chase it at #60 and above...nobi juju be dat you just highlighted the reason urself why some buy before its priced-in especially in large volume and accumulate as much as they want now it's not on bid. Well for over a year+ it has been able to maintain a stable range of price and stagnation that has justified it's "profitability", " revenue", and "growth rate", etc. So it's relatively safe @2.9-3.2 if not better than bank savings with only upside left for it. But it's for a very very patient fund. Following the market everyday isn't even a guarantee one will get it at the quantity and price one wants when it begins to tick green.it would already have been priced-in and by much more than a week+ of full bid by the powers-that-be before one can buy even tesere units given it's OS and price. I suppose It's periodic swings are just to keep it active by jijoist and the MM. It's shouldn't be a gamble, it's more an investment strategy. The only loss I have seen for over a year now is alternative opportunity, not necessarily loss of Capital. |

They started buy when the numbers changed. Some are buying because they are gambling simple. UCAP Share Split happened at 10. It wasn't available until 15+. HesInMe: No nah. You know I read and respect your opinions. My question was, Why invest now?
Okay, let me offer why not now, then tell me where I'm wrong: That the stock is trading on Presco stardust that will dissipate soon; that their most prized assets, oil palm seedlings, are 5-8 years from peak production; and that the company effectively has zero revenue and is burning through cash. People most times buy early to avoid the potential stock being priced in before time. Cuz all eyes are on agriculture and one cant easily compete at entry price with the crowd watching keenly when it will tick green. Same thing I think happening to Oil sectors. |
