lexy2014: who has the plans to launch an aircraft manufacturing company soon?
who are the "we" that have Caverton at MMIA? Ok. I get you, until the proposed future lunch then. But the present news in Abuja Airport is privately owned. That was my earlier emphasis. Ok. When I say "we" i meant there is already at least a company in "we" our country Nigeria, located in Lagos MMIA. It's Carverton-->Privately owned. and for the record I agree with you.Govt has no business running businesses, especially this huge. |

ositadima1: According to the Economic Value Added theory, there is something called WTP, or willingness to pay. This refers to the maximum price customers are willing to pay for a product or service. What I’m saying here is that if the price exceeds the WTP of consumers, they will either reduce consumption, find alternatives, or stop using the product altogether.
This may not improve things for companies like MTNN. I think they should also focus on increasing WTP and reducing WTS, or willingness to sell, by cutting costs and becoming more efficient.
Anyway, this won’t stop MTNN from appreciating today and in the coming days.
Thanks for WTP enlightenment. But I tend to disagree. 1)Calls and data are becoming more of raw materials rather than end products.. It's a mainstay careerwise. 2) with the Globalised World we live in, japa syndrome and movement of family members in search of green pastures. People will do everything in their power to reach one another.. Humans feed off Peace of mind. safety reasons ensures quest to reach out to one another no matter the cost!! WTP may not hold here. 3) Statistics shows that there was an increase in telecommunications usage in 2023 and 2024 as well. No matter the increase, people will pay for the mediocre services in the long run and MTNs revenue will increase whether MTN decides to improves WTP infrastructures or not. Unfortunately, I don't think we can stop using the product neither are there "more robust" competitive alternatives. Also, Most people these days tend to have 2 or more SIM cards just like bank accounts. We both can bet MTN is 80-90% one of them if not more. Growth potential is inevitable with the tariff increase. The issue is in what proportion to investors in the downline |

A country still buying and using 1970s aircraft is only going to fight insurgents they can't fight another country with those equipment. We have DIA, SSS(DSS) and NIA So we have a chance. |

https://businesspost.ng/banking/bidvest-risks-moodys-downgrade-over-access-bank-takeover/ More like Nigerian negative factors.. Currency, volatile economy, etc Less influential Connections of Accesss HoldCo owners wrt Bidvest group owners, etc. Bidvest had a higher rating than Access bank pre-aquisition (i think including any FUGZ bank in Nigeria as well). It only makes sense to downgrade it to the rating of it's new owners. Not necessarily that Access Bank has defaulted or gone broke suddenly.. Just Nigerian factor Vs South African factor. My thoughts. |

HesInMe: Good luck. When we look back, it'll either be one of the sagest investment bets you've ever made (because expectations are low) or one of the dumbest (expectations are appropriately low). Well, looking at it from the pessimistic side, Might not ve been the best, but won't say it's dumb at all not to even mention the dumbest.... seems entry price of 1.93-1.95 is at a resistance level. Worst case, he gets back his Capital if it never appreciates.(which I doubt). return OF capital is almost guaranteed than return ON Capital for him. He only looses an opportunity cost not necessarily face value of Capital. Based on his volume, even a poor 5%-20% increase within the entire year relative to his expectation of over 200%+ and not even beating current inflation data, the face value alone on that 10-20% can aid a substantial project for the year and it's highly achievable. Not even dumb at all from my end. |

Politics › Re: North Provoked By Tinubu Move To Split Ncat To 6 Geopolitical Zone Of Nigeria by chimex38: 10:29am On Jan 11, 2025 |
franchasofficia: In as much as you are making sense, you must remember that Nigeria's case is a special case that have no comparison anywhere because of the nature of humans that occupy the country called Nigeria.
Nigeria houses some of the most wicked, conscienceless and inhumane beings you can ever find in the whole world, so when treating their case you apply caution.
Splitting those institutions are a good step in the right direction for Nigeria.
Even if you ban state of origin, LGA of origin and quota system, it won't change the situation because our native names will still be used against every one of us when it comes to that. Unless there will be a constitutional amendment to make it compulsory for every Nigerian parent to add the native name of the state he/she gave birth his child and any other Nigerian native name that is not his own tribe to his child's name.
For instance, if Musa living in Imo state gives birth to a child, he must add an Igbo name to the child's name plus any other Nigerian native name from either Yoruba, Ijaw, Bini, Ibibio, etc before adding his own Hausa/Fulani name to that child's name. From there we will start having Nigerian names like:
Chidi Musa Adeniran Yaradua Onome Jang Abiola Chinedu Abdul Osaro Adewunmi Emeka Olumide Yakubu Ofori
How you wan take know that person's state of origin or tribe?
Without this, Nigerians will still use native names to know where you come from and decide how to treat you.
The best thing for Nigeria is to restructure it using the six geopolitical zones as the template and make every region fully independent to reduce power at the center.
It will lead to healthy competition that will make every region to wake up to revamp their region to become better than others which will lead to complete development of Nigeria.
Without this, nothing for Nigeria In addition to this: Every Nigerian should be able to communicate in at least 2 Nigerian major languages before he turns 20. not necessarily a criteria for tertiary education in Nigeria or Vocational skill but an incentive should ve given to students who are able to attain such feat.. It could be merit entrance, stipends, increase in admission points, wave some failed elective courses(Ds and es), etc.. This will make every student to try to learn a second language Before 30 or so.. He should be able to speak the 3rd major language. Also, A criteria to be president of Nigeria is the ability to speak or converse in the 3 major languages.. Basic level at least. It can even be extended to the Vice and Senate presidency. Also a president, Vice and Senate President should be able to adore the different attires of the country... A president doesn't need to wear an Igbo attire only when he visits Igbo land; likewise a Northern president doesn't need to wear the yoruba attire only when he visits yoruba land.. As a matter of fact, President BAT could wear Ibibio, igbo, Hausa, Fulani, Ijaw, etc to official international events. He doesnt have to represent the Yorubas all the time through his wears, but it's understandable if he does it more often than others, but other wears shouldn't just be on regional visits alone. This kind of shows true visual representation of the country. This will trickle down to the masses.. Having special cultural wear experts around him will help. It should be enshrined in the constitution.. It will make the political positions more competitive among the Nigerian populace fostering unity and cohesion. |
