zendi: The President is the Minister for Petroleum. It is a retained portfolio, by discretion of the President.
Buhari did too.
The Minister of State, Lokpobiri, not Kyari, is his deputy in the Ministry. The Minister of State is also called the Junior Minister. There is one or two in every Ministry. I know all these. I only said I forgot PBAT is still the actual minister. and also meant that Kyari(NNPC GMD) seems more visible than the actual state minister(Lokpobiri) Thanks all the same for the breakdown. |

PBAT, in this scenario, acted as the Minister of Petroleum Resources in which capacity the proposal was presented to [and adopted by] the FEC headed by the President
The bolded is Minister BAT Lol... I get you now. I forget say PBAT na still Chiarmo for that side Na Lokpobiri Kyari sef i think say na Minister Na him visible for media pass. |

Streetinvestor2: ok make I give you my maths angle based on my purchases which was a bet then. I have 2 batches of purchase then on my bet naija stock The first was BE of less than #10 The second has BE of less than #15 It is this third that I was targeting #65 and below hoping the news will come late
Now if oando gives me 1 for 12.If I decide to sell @#70.I will have 8 figures as proceeds This has covered the cost for all the batch 1 purchase plus enough change If the second distribution happens this yr again. The proceeds will cover batch 2 if the unit I get is the same as the first distribution. Therefore my money that will be left in oando will be the one for this batch 3. The first and second batch of oando shares go now be free units.Abeg I nobe witch. I appreciate that effort coming from wale. Pls this is applicable to my situation in oando investment going forward. I get you perfectly. I was only saying Profit should increase this 2025 to help cover principals-debts gradually and hence discourage coming to the market to raise funds. and even if they eventually do, it will be very minimal. But from such an entry level of yours and @ current price, any possible dilution is very far from you |

KarlTom: The bolded might be interpreted as taking things personal. It was not an Executive Act of PBAT.
There is what we call the Production Curtailment and Domestic Crude Oil Supply Obligation Regulations (DCSO) 2023 which is issued AND enacted by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) as premised on Section 109 (2) of the PIA...
The Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) was signed into law on 16th August, 2021 OK.. maybe I should've used obliged instead of forced. (But that's how I perceive executive orders just as Trump is doing ). Nothing personal. The PIA might have provided for the DCSO as you stated to sell quotas to local refinery. But the currency of transaction of crude-sale was changed to Naira by PBAT. It was in the news then. My emphasis is on the use of the Naira for local transaction rather than the usual Dollar 💵 |

Streetinvestor2: The debt is middium to long time. Are they servicing the debt...yes Is there possibility of default..no Can they pay back from assets/revenue over time...yes Is the debt affecting level of profit..yes Is something still left after cost of finance...yes This answers are more positive to me in my street sense.. The only fear for me now is oil price should not drop.I am buying my third batch. I don't need validation oh..After all alhaji failed me in sugar. Q4 2024 was negative. I expect q1 2025 to be positive I like your angle to it. I also hope for the best without much dilution. |

Streetinvestor2: As it stands now.I will bet on oando doing 100% this yr than any stock above #500 doing 100%.I say as I see it.I have no attachment to any stock as I have different stock in my portfolio. Wale is doing well in his actions for sometimes now.i will rather bet on #70 than many big companies.
With this redistribution. It is good dividend for the next three yrs as I expect good appreciation. For the negative shareholders fund. The company will overcome it as oil production increases with increased revenue. I doubt they will come for any fund raising. If they should be coming for that. The likes of sugar, mtn etc should equally be coming for that but I don't think is going to happen... My street sense.. The only worry on oando now is crash in the price of oil besides that nothing dey happen The debt no be here Oo . Plus Most of the Oil Companies are forced to sell a percentage to local refineries in dollars Naira) by PBAT executive act. Unless probably their debts are restructured for long term. I think they will have to come to the market. |

Raider76: But these shares belong to current shareholders TODAY. Is it ok for a company to hold shares belonging to shareholders and be giving them back in tranches over 3 years? This is different from dividends for which the company has to earn profits annually. Anyway these are my views, at the risk of being called an Oando hater by the powers that be here. I was holding since before the AGM, and I have now sold the news. The shares belong to OandO and they decided to pay shareholders rather than even creditors. Let's say current share price is 70 now 70/3 +70 = N93/100......should give us the new price range..... Lol, make una no mind my shortcut calculations oooooh 😁 ...but it's expected at that range or above as time goes on...😁 OANDO needs to move above 100.......time is what we don't know yet. BabsO2: I no read the story. But it could be related to some Nigerians coming to attend dental clinic in Nigeria as there are some advantages for doing so. Or like that CNN anchor story.
Former CNN anchor Isha Sesay, of Sierra Leonean descent, brought her mother to Nigeria for medical treatment. She praised the Nigerian medical staff for their exceptional care, noting that her mother was admitted to Lagoon Hospital in Apapa, where she spent three months in the Intensive Care Unit.
Stuff like this here and there. True.. No doubt but here and there isnt in their numbers. |

pluto09: Yes, some are coming from outside to attend clinics in Nigeria but not in the scale of what we can call trooping. Two major factors are responsible for this, you get your appointment on time and it is cheaper. But believe you me, this is mostly happening in some selected/elite private hospitals. The government run hospitals can't compete in that space. yes, u make a point. cheaper currency is also a major factor and specialised private hospitals. |

Recently Usman danfodio university Sokoto just celebrated it's first kidney transplant... A university that started it's medical school in 1983 or so.. Equipped to standard from 2013 upwards till in 2025 they achieved a dream.
FMC Owerri has just converted to FUTH less than 3yrs ago.. Due to the upgraded facilities, the doctors just succeeded in using IVF treatment for the first time few months ago.
In both cases, the brains at the universities and clinics are there but no facilities or funded research. Na to dey train Doctors who japa and do wonders outside naija. But themselves don't have the facilities, spread and funded research to perform these break through here and on time.

Agbalowomeri: Do you know how long they stay on the queue for clinic appointments? Lots of Nigerians in the UK/Us/Canada opt out to come naija for medical/surgical procedure when frustrated with clinic appointments Well, probably true with UKs current health care crisis but its basically an admin/population Problem not poor treatment or lack of equipment or maintenance. And their destination is probably LAGOS.. That's all. A stretch would be National Hospital Abuja or some military hospitals. most na referral things. |

megawealth01: What if it's true?
Nigeria has one of the best brains in the medical field So 1-2 persons come Nigeria for medcare means UK dey flock into Nigeria,? I agree on best brains but not hospital. Healthcare is largely infrastructure. As for brain, the research centres with recurrent allocations to sustain innovation aren't there for the brainy health personnels to prove their worth. The only thing we better pass US of A(though not UK) now na Aircraft Safety.. Na gbasgbos crashes for USA since last year.. I go prefer Xjet abi na Ibom Air and Airpeace to any US flying object. |

mikeapollo: The huge finance costs on the debt is depressing profits and contributing to loss making. Poor or inadequate profits would make it difficult for the company to attract more investors and also affect the share price. The crude oil in the ground stills requires funds (cashflow) for it to be pumped and sold to generate revenue, otherwise it would remain dormant. So it is advisable they reduce the debt and related finance costs in order to improve profit margins. In one of the numerous articles, Wale say Engr. AI will be employed to do drilling to reduce cost |
