capatainrambo: the electricity your useless govt export to countries. Do you have it in this your shit hole? We stopped these countries through agreements from establishing Dams on the sources and path of the river Niger that houses Kainji and shiroro dam. Otherwise we won't have enough river flow flowing towards Nigeria to power the dams. In exchange for that , Nigeria agreed to sell a quota of electricity to them for the gesture since we prevented them from having their own dam to generate power. The source of this River Niger is Fouta Djallon mountain in Guinea. Flowing through Mali, Benin and Niger. |

The hype and the noise is important to sell a business but the accuracy of both is 90 and 98
chatGPT deals with general knowledge, Deepseek deal on specifically on science based... I Apart from last paragraph: Which is 90 And which is 98? What is prompt engineering? They are not on same level? Which is higher? You wrote so much with no specific differentiation. |

GeneralDae: This is a strategic one. It could be a strategy to formalise the informal cross border trades and reduce this fight for conversion to more expensive dollars. Those from Niger, Benin, and Chad who live in Nigeria and want to trade goods can easily transfer their CFA to Banks without hustling for more expensive dollars from the BDC’s. True.. Also naira devaluation, the CFA is now more valuable than the naira and relatively stable. I suppose 1CFA =₦2.5(about). |

porthouse7: of dollar dey go down CFA will also go down, CFA is pegged to the Dollar, the CFA countries are not doing anything better than Nigeria economically CFA is pegged to the Euro and not dollar. Even at that both currencies(Dollar &Euro) hardly fall significantly to affect reserves and budget planning. It's good to stability. |

Putindbutt: See these zombidients, they have nothing but an empty box of head. Your little brain cannot understand the benefits of de-dollarizing the foreign exchange within the system. He's also China stooge for Naira-Yuan deal?, He's also Russian's stooge for joining BRICS?. very dumb people.
The key factor for us is naira stability. It's okay to have a two way deal but Nigerian exporters demand far more dollars than any of the francophone countries. I agree though. Naira stability is key. Helps for proper planning of the country The diversification will help to cushion pressure on dollar Demand. |

iichidodo: CFA is the strongest currency in West Africa, it is fair to say we need them... 1CFA = about ₦2.5 now. CFA is relatively stable since the Euro is stable. Before Naira devaluation, ₦500 = $1, ₦1 = 1.3 CFA(about), our currency was above the CFA or slightly better. there was no need to accept a less worthy currency then. |

adioolayi: CFA Franc to strengthen more against the Naira U get it.. It strengthens their currency. The CBN should advocate for reciprocal treatment: They should accept our Naira as payment when we import their goods. It gives us the twin fold advantage of strengthening our Naira and reducing our dependence on dollars. majority of West and Central African countries use the CFA franc |

HesInMe: To be fair, they're trying. At least they're improving their atrocious gross margins, most likely due to changing revenue mix with a shift away from commoditized card printing.
If I were management, I'd quickly raise new equity and continue to reinvent the business like so. Might take 5 years, but if existing shareholders are so Cham'd that they're willing to pay for a low-margin business, you should oblige them. From what @Osita posted, They shored up equity by about 48-50% in full year 2024. Thats quite impressive. They don't have to come to the market to dilute their shares? If they have a go at it again this year or even better. They are off -ve equity.. I believe they would with the contract of last year probably taking effect this Year. What's with the 5years? Max 2yrs. They will come to within acceptable debt level. |

ositadima1: Financial Analysis of Chams Holding Company Plc for FY 2024
1. Profitability - Revenue Growth: Revenue surged by 53% (from ₦9.47B to ₦14.51B), driven by core segments like Printer Solutions (₦7.31B) and Card Personalization (₦6.48B). - Gross Profit Margin: Improved from 22.5% (2023) to 30.1% (2024), indicating better cost control or pricing power. - Operating Profit: Jumped 137% to ₦1.89B, reflecting operational efficiency despite rising administrative and staff costs. - Net Profit: Increased 218% to ₦1.30B, with basic EPS rising from 4.53 kobo to 23.07 kobo.
2. Liquidity & Cash Flow - Cash Position: Cash reserves grew by 26% (₦1.88B to ₦2.37B), though operating cash flow declined to ₦387.5M (from ₦533.9M in 2023). - Working Capital: Receivables increased sharply (₦3.93B to ₦6.77B), raising concerns about collection efficiency. Inventory decreased by 62%, suggesting better inventory management.
3. Balance Sheet Strength - Total Assets: Increased by 12% (₦18.91B to ₦21.08B), driven by investments in PPE (₦7.39B) and intangible assets. - Debt Levels: Long-term loans nearly tripled (₦783M to ₦1.99B), pushing total liabilities to ₦10.12B. Leverage ratio (Debt/Equity) rose, indicating higher financial risk. - Equity: Total equity grew to ₦10.96B, but retained earnings remain negative (₦1.11B deficit), though improving from 2023 (₦2.16B deficit).
4. Segment Performance - Printer Solutions & Card Personalization: Contributed 94% of revenue (₦13.8B combined). - Payment Systems & Agency Banking: Smaller segments (₦239.7M and ₦475.2M) but potential growth areas.
5. Risks & Concerns - High Receivables: Trade receivables rose 73% (₦3.93B to ₦6.77B), risking liquidity strain if uncollected. - Debt Dependency: Reliance on borrowing (₦2.31B new loans) for expansion could pressure future cash flows. - Negative Retained Earnings: Despite profits, accumulated losses persist, limiting dividend capacity.
6. Audit & Governance - Unaudited Statements: Results are provisional and subject to adjustments. - Non-Controlling Interest (NCI): Increased to ₦4.80B, reflecting subsidiary performance.
Conclusion Chams Holding demonstrated strong growth in revenue and profitability, backed by operational efficiency and segmental strength. But, rising debt, receivables, and persistent retained earnings deficits warrant caution. I think I would prefer this Human AI. |

GeeKudi: Maybe the description should have been better worded. You don't name an item an expense and then enter it as a credit.
On the whole, I think the result is a major improvement from previous years and a clear indication of the direction the company is headed going forward. They just need to quickly double efforts on the planned capital restructuring and adopt more cost effective approaches to running the business. To be fair to them , it was worded correctly. I think that's the accounting standard. This is the wordings of the line item: Income tax credit/(expense)Credit isn't bracketed signifying +ve Expense is bracketed signifying (-ve) One can easily be oversighted especially as we look through multiple financial statements that ain't uniformly worded as such. |

mikeapollo: I guess it is a typo The N17b was actually disclosed as income tax credit in the Q3 2024 results. I think it's just a coincidence. If you subtract the E&P tax credit of ₦27.99bn from the Cooperate & Others-tax expense of (₦10.283bn) you will get around ₦17bn.. That's how it was arrived at. |

GeeKudi: Can people look at this 65bn very well. Looks like there is an error in the computation. Income tax expences (17bn) was erroneously added to profit before income tax (47bn) to arrive at the 65bn. I think the correct figure should have been 31bn if you deduct income tax from pbt. Or, maybe I didn't check very well? Good Observation.. But on further checks according to the line item, it's more likely a tax-credit rather than a tax-expense, hence not bracketed and rightly added. In the same line item, they got a tax credit from their exploration activity of ₦27.99bn and it was added. That's the source of the observation you rightly highlighted. I could also be wrong.
