Youngzedd: Anyone with foresight knows that MTN will bounce back. We are talking about the largest telecom company in the country.
There's no way the government won't allow them to increase tariffs, given that everything has more than doubled in the country.
If we're being fair, a tariff increase of at least 100% would be justified. Of course MTNN will bounce back and Tariff increase, justified. just patience needed. |

essentialone1: Those 2 friends, can they ever say No, to your own Request?
Find out. This here is also a core of the topic.. There are people you hardly say no to even though they dont reciprocate and it's probably fine by you cuz you feel you owe them more but you also have someone else who hardly says no to you.. And the cycle continues... It'd actually how I believe the world works more.. The idea of reciprocal strong friendship exists though, but rare and limited in number of such friends. They are most often childhood related as the commenter above wrote. If it doesn't go very bad due to unhealthy rivalry and betrayal, then it metamorphoses to strong bonded healthy relationship built on healthy competition, understanding, contentment and trust. Most times, when marriages gets involved it gets even harder. Priority beckons! |

Only Oando and Penny stocks I mentioned when I started buying as soon as price fell to 169 and it was even available at 166-168, it will make us big money this year. Note: The article is quoting the Minister, no official communication from NCC or percentage increase details yet I think if there were hope of dividend within the year, there would have been fans patiently tagging along. By the way, 80% of browsers to this page here use MTN, so we do like MTN. (no data source; just GA ) |

emmyileri: Romans 1:21–23 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Leviticus 26:1 “’Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.
Galatians 5:19–21 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Hmm.. Your quote from Romans and Leviticus is worth a thought. Especially Romans.. And to buttress this verses you quoted, I think there is a thin line to which some Catholic faithfuls cross and their ministers need to enlighten the members to fall back or note them. Cuz what the members do and how they carry on with their worship is more of a reflection of what the Catholic Church stands for when unfortunately some are not the official stand. I am also against how far some catholics go in keeping such images as sacred as though they glorify it's importance more than their next door neighbor or family member not to mention God. That's Idolatry and it's wrong❌ Catholics use beads similar to Moslems but it has crucifix at it's end.. If I have a problem with my phone and nothing around me,but this tiny crucifix can pass through and press-open the inner button of my phone, I will use it. If I am in danger and there is a big statue of crucifix close-by I can use to fight off an enemy or hit a predatory animal attacking me or other domestic animal.. I believe Catholics should gladly use it without thinking twice. Revering and protecting it as a sacred entity even when it is just a carved material and can serve other purposes where one has no other alternative is idolatry to me and glorification and it's wrong❌. Responding to your verses: My understanding of the context of the verses is that those images are idolised by the populace when erected. They can't pray to their gods if they don't have it in there homes, centre of worship, gatherings, etc because that is the physical object they worship and so it's very sacred. I don't think it is so for Catholics.. No one forces the members to have them in their houses, places of worship, etc. It doesn't stop a community gathering of catholics from praying without those artifacts if they so choose because it is not their God. I have seen them pray. I have seen catholic ministers celebrate church service in an open place without crucifix or any images..this usually happens in remote villages most times. This proved to me that it is not their God and doesn't in any way, take the place of God when it's used. (You didn't respond to my 3 questions, so I will reserve my response on why I believe those images are used cuz you and I know that within those questions, lies one singular answer.) I will add 2 more questions below to buttress the 3 above: 4) Why do some people leave their homes with 24/7 light, comfortable chair, table, sometimes even quiet and serene enough,to go to a different environment to read or nearby library especially Masters and PhD students same reason as why do some undergrad students leave there hostels or room and go to the library or class to read? 5a)As a human, which I presume you are, when you pray as a person or when one generally prays, do you form a mental image of events you pray to/thank God for as well as form a mental image of the God you pray to? 5b)If yes, Is it right or wrong? For me all questions just drives at one singular answer. Happy Sunday, remain blessed |

Besides, it's not just FG Vs MTN but FG Vs all Telcos.. MTN is just the figure head and most dominant. Well, They may not get their 100% but I fear they may get a substantial increase. |

ositadima1: That is why some TA theories may not work as expected. Specifically, the so-called "Burundi Bull" followed by the "mother of all crashes" that some practitioners promote does not apply here. I like to think there is no general bull market; instead, what we are witnessing is a repricing of stocks, either gradually or rapidly in some cases.
I expect an upward movement in stock values, as I have mentioned before. In the near future, stocks could become a way to regain lost value, though this is inherently risky because it relies on crowd decisions. But, in the long term, I believe most stocks will adjust upwards—not necessarily because they are creating more value, but simply because currency has depreciated relative to asset values.
For example, by owning my 2023 mobile phone, my assets have effectively increased. Had I decided not to buy the phone and instead held onto cash, I would have been worth less in real terms.
One strategy, in my opinion, is to focus on companies with substantial physical assets. These companies should reprice accordingly, regardless of their earnings, as long as they are performing adequately and not burdened by negative sentiment. Some of these companies have already repriced to an extent, but I expect more upward adjustments.
This is just my reasoning as a layman. I am not an economist—just a below average person sharing my thoughts. I believe it has to reflect in their books before adequate reprising.. As u"ve pointed out companies have to review depreciation of their assets to an appreciable level. But I think this needs to be done FIRST. When it reflects in the entire report to boost the downline, then stock reprising will be sustained otherwise reprising might just be shortlived. |
