Politics / Re: Boko Haram Recaptures Gubio And Magumeri In Borno by chinedu234(m): 2:22pm On Aug 22, 2019
The holy book had said it. Men will be busy committing adultery, fornication, attending swearing in ceremonies on that great day of rapture. And true to that, they have been busy manipulating themselves in the name of elections and sharing offices that they didn't know that the boko haram boys have come on them. Therefore I confirm that the heart of the present leaders of Nigeria is full of evil and iniquity. But they will pay.

Politics / Re: Fowler Replies Kyari, Says Recession, Oil Price Affected Tax Revenue by chinedu234(m): 7:37pm On Aug 20, 2019
Mariory:

No we're talking about the value of the naira to the $ which you brought up. You cannot compare the value of Tax revenue of both periods in $ without taking into consideration the value of oil in both periods due to the type of economy we have in Nigeria.

As a result I do not see any hypocrisy or ignorance.
Okay. 1. The factor responsible for the fluctuations in forex rate brought about inflation rates which were responsible for the different nominal values of the vat collections. In other words, the underpinning factor of usd is the only acceptable denominator to ascertain estimated values of the collections. Since the government and Fowler were interested in comparing nominal values over time without inputting the impact of other variables (hypocrisy),it became a duty to inform them about the availability of the appropriate economic viewpoint. I rest my submissions here believing that those who truly wanted to be informed have benefited immensely from both theoretical and practical economics experience of some decades.

Mariory:

Most economists worth their salt know that the value of the Naira flunctuates with the price of oil becuase it is currently our major export.

So your calculation must acknoweldge that the price of oil between the two periods is vastly diferrent.
A look at the entire economy is different from the issue of vat that Fowler threw up. But in case you have a more elaborate explanation than the one he brought forward to compare 2012 and 2018 vat collections please put it up. We shall dissect it. Just bear in mind the actual meaning of vat. What I accuse the present government and Mr Fowler of is either hypocrisy or ignorance.

Why are you converting the Naira amount into Dollars without taking into account the price of oil during both periods? I'm intrigued what sort of economics thaught you that.
The vat is from non oil products. Did you study economics?

Can kindly explain this point in details?

Thanks as you create time to expatiate on this view.
Mr Fowler stated that his FIRS made about #1.1trn through Vat in 2018 and claims that it surpasses the 2012 record of #800bn made under the Jonathan administration. What everyone should simply do is divide both sums by the prevailing USD rates at the different periods. For instance in 2012 Usd was at about #150. In 2018 it became #360(min). When you do the arithmetic the figures that may emerge are $5,333m for 2012 and $3,055m for 2018. If you use the usd value of 2012 to seek the naira value of Fowler's collections for 2018, you will have a sum of about #458.33bn. Whereas the present Usd rate on the 2012 collections would be about #3.96trn. This is how economics thought us.

Mr Fowler may think himself too smart. By the time US dollar is brought into the mix,the half smart man will realize how stupid his answer as per non oil tax revenue is. For those that may not understand, the non oil tax revenue of Fowler is less than 50% of same nominal value under Jonathan era.

The attack is regrettable because I thought Ekweremadu had been a good Igbo ambassador. But for Umahi to say IPOB is cowardly and does not have the spread is a clear testimony to how infantile and myopic that he can be.

It sounds so but any evidence to back it? As a collation agent,he deals directly with results and should have some copies with him or an iota of proof.instead,he dwelt on what was happening at voting points which wasnt his primary concern.meanwhile he didnt vote nor visit any units but dealt on imaginary hearsays.mutilated results or cancellations in result sheets is not unlawful as far as they tally with the pink copies.the pdp agent even presented 3 contradictory statements killing
his testimony.his final statements that results were merely read to the hearing of everybody satisfies the constitutional requirements of declaration of results.the pdp agent unknowingly affirmed the credibility of the results
That is very interesting.

Seems about time the judiciary should start looking properly at Efcc with a view to putting them where they belong. Some of their comments bother on rascality and lack of respect. Probably, the executive reckless deployment of power is also getting them intoxicated. What about striking out all their cases until they learn to respect the judicial authority and come up with unreserved public apology?
Agriculture / Re: Imports, Low Prices Hurt Maize Farmers by chinedu234(m): 9:57am On Jul 05, 2019
When thoughtless people take control, that is the result gotten. The bazaar declared by this administration in the name of promoting agriculture will soon hurt very badly. The nearest future for Nigeria is the worst type of poverty and possibly crisis. What the people here seem not to understand is that economy is the foundation of the society. Since this government lack that singular capacity, there is nothing to fall back on. No type of media propaganda can erase this reality. I am really afraid for Nigeria.

Sanwolu has started on a very wrong footing and seems headed for failure. His inability to appreciate the actual problems of his environment and the blind dash to rubbish the human rights achievements of his predecessor will probably make him the Rehoboam of Lagos. His seeming attitude to sound smart at all times may be putting his mouth into action before the brain and the possible pressure of the prostate economy may be a huge drive towards crushing the ordinary man for his pleasure and that of the leader master.
