Politics / Re: Bandits Attack Military Camp In Zazzaga, Niger State. Set Vehicles On Fire by chinedu234(m): 1:57pm On Apr 21, 2021
The legend Chinua Achebe made it clear several years ago. When the center can no longer hold because mere anarchy has enveloped the space. Things are no longer at ease. Then we understand the final message of there was a country.

I remember some black and white pictures of my parents smiling even as the Nigeria/Biafra war was ongoing. Guess what? The pictures were taken at different places in Biafran territory. The message here is that despite the situation life must go on. The life could be ostrich type but it has to go on.
Politics / Re: 'Buhari Can't Be Bullied' - Garba Shehu (Video) by chinedu234(m): 1:31pm On Apr 21, 2021
Garba Shehu and his leader have their rights to opinions. As the transient power of government lies in their hands today, so the right of dissent of the secessionists. As the reality of every morning, so is it appearing to be the reality of Nigeria's balkanization. My major worry is violence which the attempt to keep a forced marriage may bring about. The fraud set up as a country and constitution can no longer stand. The power of coercion formerly the total preserve of the government and so called leader is available to the secessionists. Most unfortunate may be the sabotage from even the soldiers these so called leader may be relying on. Time has come for these "leaders" to get down from the high horse and address the real issue. The fraud has failed with it's paperworks and institutions. For me violence should be avoided and the fraud must end.

Business / Bad Roads And Tout Tolls In Lagos State by chinedu234(m): 7:09pm On Apr 18, 2021
The current trend of harassment, intimidation, and extortion of truck drivers by some agents appointed by ojo local government council and other unknown people is becoming very worrisome. Local gossip has it that even some obas in the area also have their own agents that collect road tolls on their behalf. Every lagosian knows that the Badagry express road and other roads in ojo area are death traps and vehicle destroyers and yet has turned to money spinner for unscrupulous people. These illegal tax collectors can be found from iba axis up to the okoko- ajangbadi road. Some of them issue receipts and others do not. Their collections are on per trip on the roads. Their collections range from #1,000 to #4,000. One is left to wonder if these monies get to the government coffers or go somewhere else. We attach samples of the receipts issued.

A 2000 year practice may be more beneficial or proper than a more recent law. There are many laws and practices in the Bible that have been discarded also. Basic rights come 1st.
Your assertion is incontrovertible. However what makes a law is agreement by the people.

Customary matters are changing and not always right and don’t supersede individual rights and sensible practices.
No law custom or tradition is perfect. Evolution bears on all. The point is that the people must accept a practice to make it culture. Am sure you know that any law that cannot be implemented is completely useless and worthless. It is even ironical that the history of some strange people over 2000 years is used to decide a supreme court matter in 2020. Infact is it not more of a shame?

One would expect you to be happy with the judgment. This is a good example of justice especially in these days of controversial judgments.

If a custom is unjust, it should be expunged just like the custom of killing twins. Hopefully there will be more judgments like this to address the customs of inheriting a dead man’s wife and torturing widows and child brides.
Your submission is quite solid. However the root of the matter (the particular custom or tradition) needs to be understood and possibly changed with the acceptance of the people before a court can competently pronounce on it. Our people should realize that the so called english law which they are interpreting here is came from the culture and traditions of the english man. It is dehumanizing and humiliating to judge a people's culture from the perspective of another one.

The Supreme Court supersedes the sharia if any party isn’t satisfied with the sharia judgement.
The point is that there are judges versed on sharia matters at the supreme court. There is none competent on customary matters.
Religion / Re: Job, Numbers: Bible Books That Swayed Supreme Court Ruling On Female Inheritance by chinedu234(m): 4:18pm On Apr 13, 2021
This judgement and the judge sound ridiculous and full of colonial mentality. How is the bible related to igbo customs and traditions? No wonder the same supreme court awarded governorship results to a man that didn't represent any party in the 2019 elections. Did the so called learned justices do a research on the customs and traditions of the people. I don't blame the man. After all the igbos should have insisted on having their matters settled in the manner sharia matters are handled. This may be the eye opener.

This is a top economic matter that should be devoid of Nigeria's useless political sentiments. People who are familiar with industry matters should be "committeed" to vigorously address the issues raised. Soludo okonjo Iweala and co. They will most likely provide the right economic path.

The lowest point of the fashola administration in Lagos and the plunging of the state into a financial topsy-turvy. A mere road reconstruction that would have at best incorporated an extra lane became a white elephant holding the state and country to ransom for about 10 years now. Solution may be to select two lanes and complete immediately while gradually dealing with the rest as we wait upon the lord.

Femi Adeshina should tell the true story of his life and forget about legends who are globally acknowledged. His master and himself may have an inkling of the reports that will follow their demise going by what people tell of them now. And I think this should get any man worried. This is still an affirmation that Wailing is an act that cleanses and strengthens the soul. Some of us have adopted it as our therapy and Jah blesses us beyond imagination of the Babylonians. Feel iree ital brethrens. March on to Zion the burning wailer. Jah Rastarferai!!

Please somebody should move this in-law to the one in his local government area or at best the one in Owerri. We know the young man deserves the best possible attention from our ultra modern facilities built by my governor my governor.

I didn't know know that this smart man is still in the Senate. I remember his very loquacious nature in the red Chambers when he was a pdp member. How he went licking the behind of all apc members he could get hold of before the rescheduled election that gave him victory. Suddenly a highly loquacious person becomes dumb. Is this the effect of the evil apc therapy? Or has he been drinking away his life with his friends in the pdp? Possibly he is suffering from the therapy given to login people that makes them invincible to covid 19.
