I dunno, always kinda believed it since many Nigerians live below the poverty line. At least 70% but the exact percentage is the confounding factor.

But then again, Naira is become less valuable by the minute. #150 is probably seen to Nigerians the way an American sees a dollar.

I don't think this $1 issue applies to this current time.

Ayettymama, you dunno what you're saying! Music didn't die with anybody. I love Tupac a whole lot but I'm not gonna say hip hop died with him, please! I wasn't even into music till well after he died. He was great but there are still people alive making moves - Jay-z, Nas, and co. are legends in my book.

People are just so used to praising dead artists that they didn't even care that much about while they were alive. How many people were still making noise about MJ before he died? All of a sudden music died with him.  He's a legend but music is still moving on, always evolving. You just gotta evolve with it. 

@topic, me sef I tire. . .that's why I don't listen to them.  Ok, seriously, it's easy. . .Personally, I think at least 90% of naija artists suck! But since you know that, you stay away from those ones and move on to the good ones. Music is really subjective like eldee said, that's why I hate when some people try to feel superior over others based on their musical taste. Psh.
