blueAgent:Then go on! That is why I said the country is cursed. Like a dog chasing it tail in circle. Continue! ![]() |
Kukutente23:So if they find incriminating evidence on Tinubu the fall out will only affect him Maybe you don't know that Nigeria is the butt of joke all over the world example:It comes after Lord Sugar suggested that Nigerians could not be trusted over financial promises. During the opening episode of The Apprentice, the peer asked contestant Stuart Baggs why he should not be "fired" from the show. Mr Baggs said: "If you give me one hundred grand a year, I will deliver to you 10 times that and if I don't — take it all back. A money back guarantee, I'm that confident". Lord Sugar replied: "I had an offer like that from Nigeria once and funnily enough it didn't transpire." The fall out will instil confidence in Nigeria ![]() Yes it is Atiku's legal right but risk/reward, what if analysis etc. Just because you can do something doesn't mean it's the best course of action. Supporters claim 3- 6 months - Are the supporters 99.9%ers? The 0.01%ers knows it will take longer. Maybe they should reduce the presidential term to 6 months as it is enough to see the desired result ![]() |
Kukutente23:Who is breaking Nigeria ? Well Atiku tried to do that, and there are some waiting for the FBI report. The question is do you think the fall out, if there is anything incriminating would only affect Tinubu? You are all screaming about the state of economy but do you think such incrementing information will make the Naira rise against the dollar and bring about the needed foreign investments? The country is not in the best state, we all know that, but as as Sanusi said "Anybody who tells you it's going to be easy, please don't vote for him". In early 1922, 160 German marks was equivalent to one US dollar. By November of 1923, the currency would depreciate to 4,200,000,000,000 marks to one US dollar. With policies the hyperinflation was over by 1924. It is even keeping quiet that does the country much harm, true, but what are you saying. I have read people saying Buhari government is better than Tinubu's government . Do they mean Tinubu's government in Lagos State or what government? Is it the one that is just starting? Let the policies feed through. There are time lag but come back in 2-4 years time and review. It is like a journey from Lagos to Kano. You might not have reached Kano but it is important to know that you have left Lagos and on your way to Kano. You might not even get to Kano but Kaduna, but it is closer to Kano than Lagos. The journey from Kaduna to Kano wouldn't take as long. |
Kukutente23:I am not talking APC, PPC or JJC. Before the election I supported Atiku because of his reform policy, I have watched and admire Obi on Arise TV. I take the view anyone of them would have been okay. I also take the view that it won't be an easy tasks and that none of them are magicians or miracle worker. I also take the view that it is the policies that is going to change Nigeria not personality. Tinubu is now the President so he has my support 100%. I want him to succeed. I want Nigeria to succeed. Criticise him if you must but don't break Nigeria because it is our only country. As for going back to military, well it depends on their policies. I want prosperity for Nigeria, for me and my family. If military can deliver this then I am all for it. As long as we all have our freedom and respect for one another. |
Kukutente23:Well put it this way, If I was managing a team I think we will have a better chance of succeeding if all were positive rather than negative. |
Pakute:I call them "the 99.9%ers", they are clueless. The guy has not even been in office for a year! Maybe they think he is a magician. Running the economy is not an easy tasks and there will be mistakes along the way. In the UK last year we had a Prime Minister that was in office for 49 days because of her economic policies. It appears the country is cursed as there are lots that don't want it to succeed. I don't get it. Why won't you want the best for yourself and your children but you think by Japaing to some foreign country they would take care of you? Even after 8 years in office, Tinubu won't be able to do everything but there should be some significant changes. The 99.9%ers are always the last to know. |
gonkin:This is not business as usual. The type of changes expected are not going to happen overnight. The total time lag for an economic policy can vary from a few months to two years or more, depending on the type of policy and the severity of the economic problem. For example, if the economy is in a recession, policymakers may decide to implement a fiscal stimulus package. However, it can take several months for the stimulus package to be approved by Congress and implemented. Once the stimulus package is implemented, it can take even longer for it to have a measurable impact on the economy, as businesses and consumers may need time to adjust to the new policies. Time lags can make it difficult for policymakers to manage the economy effectively. For example, if policymakers wait too long to respond to an economic problem, the problem may become more severe and more difficult to resolve. Additionally, if policymakers overreact to an economic problem, they may create unintended consequences that could further harm the economy. Here are some examples of time lags in economic policy: Monetary policy: It can take several months for changes in interest rates to have a measurable impact on the economy. Fiscal policy: It can take several months for tax cuts or government spending increases to have a measurable impact on the economy. Trade policy: It can take several months or even years for changes in trade policy to have a measurable impact on the economy. The length of time lags can also vary depending on the state of the economy. For example, time lags can be longer during recessions, when businesses and consumers are more cautious. Time lags are an important consideration for policymakers when designing and implementing economic policy. By understanding the different types of time lags, policymakers can better anticipate the impact of their policies and make more informed decisions. Shinjawestern:Does that include Russia? |
Alusiizizi:Concorde was noisy and I am not talking over the Atlantic Ocean. When Concorde was flying over the skies of London, you will know that's Concorde. It used to shatter windows. It must be a total nightmare for those living close to the airport. Even without the accident, I don't think it will still be flying today as it has passed it sell by date The noise pollution won't be accepted. The next generation supersonic planes should be cleaner and less noisy. Personally I prefer faster planes than bigger planes. |
superCleanworks:Yes, it was very noisy. The next generation is in production and some airlines have been signing up. https://boomsupersonic.com |
omohayek:Sanity at last! You can't apply your village mentality to global affairs ![]() |
Hpesoj:I stand by my argument that larger government = less efficient= more bureaucracy= less accountability. |
Hpesoj:Yes! I don't want some huge government department where there is no accountability. Now we can see who is in charge and what they are doing. Take Fashola in the last administration, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, come on that is a huge department! I can't see any efficiency there. As I said, I am with you on the cost of governance. I come from the school of economic thought of little or no government and I have called fror the privatization of everything! Nigeria is special case, with years of neglect. Now we can see the face in charge of a certain department and they must be held accountable. We need to see results. |
Hpesoj:I am for less government too but I think the idea of decentralising is so that we can see the development of the various departments. For example we don't want the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy hiding under the Ministry of Transport and we won't get to see the development. Now there is no excuse and each minister should be held accountable. When these are developed then the ministries can be reduce. |
franchasofficia:No need for the insults ok. I posted this a while back https://www.nairaland.com/7818693/nigerians-flood-atikus-tweet-tinubus/10#125405187 What are the requirements for mature age entry? To be eligible for the Mature Age entry examinations, the candidate must be at least 25 years old during the year of application Newcastle University Our mature students come from diverse backgrounds, including those who have raised a family or are retired with no qualifications. London Metropolitan University Mature students don't necessarily need formal qualifications to study with us. You're considered a mature student if you're aged 21 or older when you start. Australian National University You can apply as a mature age student if you are over the age of 21 and you do not have an assessable qualification. |
franchasofficia:I did a BTEC national certificate. Tinubu went to Richard J. Daley College so I am guess it was relevant to his admission into CSU. So Tinubu that was born and brought up in Nigeria flew down to USA and started higher educational studies without any foundational educational record Yes possible via a technical college. Sometimes all you need is an interview. |
Goke7:We have educational elitists in Nigeria and that is why it pains people like Rufai to see someone like Tinubu being the President because he was probably one of those guys that was always 1st position in class. Guess what, your 1st position doesn't mean anything here! Education is for everybody. |
franchasofficia:Yes, I did a foundation course but so can Tinubu and I have also stated in previous posts that it is possible for a mature student to gain admission bypassing the usual requirements. |
Goke7:I was actually referring to my Bachelor's degree. What the University did require was my identity! No one is talking about that. CSU will have to verify his birth certificate or passport before enrolling on the course! All this talk of a female Bola Tinubu is complete madness. Unbelievable. Nigerians always use their Nigerian perspective for international affairs and they always end up looking like complete illiterates. That is why sometimes I watch people like Rufai and David Hundeyin and just shake my head ![]() |
franchasofficia:I went to University in the UK and my University does not have record of my primary or secondary education in Nigeria. They don't need it! |
7arrows:Game Theory. |
Sermwell:No it is not possible and that is why all of this is " probably " much ado about nothing! The Judge approved the release of non-privileged documentation which is not supposed to be confidential information and so not protected by privacy laws. These document can be shared without violating Tinubu's privacy rights, so I honestly don't know what the big deal is but we will find out tomorrow. CSU seems confident so I doubt there is anything incriminating. As for the FBI document again, I can't see anything coming out of this. Tinubu have been receiving high level US delegates even before the election. The State Department would have done their home work and wouldn't want to be associated with someone dodgy if the evidence is there. Some may say that it is an attempt to blackmail him but I am sure Tinubu would be aware of this and so why contest? Also what do the US really get out of this? Making Nigeria the 51st or whatever state of the USA? What I find funny out of all of this is the consequence. What do you think is going to happening to Nigeria if there is anything incriminating? The rating agencies will upgrade Nigeria's rating? The NGN/ USD rate will fall to N500? You think this is suffering, just wait until N2500. Of course by then Atiku Abubakar would have bugger off to Dubai, leaving you in the chaos he created. |
meum:There is nothing wrong with the educational qualifications of the new CBN governor. When I studied Economics back in the days, the first topic studied was "why do economists disagree" They disagree due to the differences in values and judgment. The different schools of economic thoughts. If you have an economist in charge then he might bias, not necessary going for the best option but going with his values. This might not be good for Nigeria. The CBN will have lots of capable economists from the different schools of economic thoughts discussing the various options at the CBN. Yemi Cardoso from what I saw on TV is called headmaster by Tinubu, to me that implies he have some leadership qualities. He has a degree in Bsc in Managerial and Administrative studies. The current programme at Aston University is Bsc in Business and Management. Develop a breadth and subsequent depth of business knowledge including the functions of management and science of decision-making. Whether you want a career at the forefront of a global operation, start-up or not-for-profit organisation, this degree could be for you. Some of the modules include Introduction to Business Economics International Businesses and Emerging Market Economies International Business Economics International Business Economics Intermediate Macroeconomics Sports Economics & Finance Further Topics in Macroeconomics Further Topics in Microeconomics Environmental Economics International Trade Economics of Entrepreneurship So I think Cardoso will have more than average knowledge of Economics to perform his duty. This is the perfect candidate for the job! This Tinubu guy must be a genius! Also remember not all Central Bank Governors are economist Jerome Powell (USA) - Politics and Law Shaktikanta Das (India) - History Andrew Bailey (UK) - History Christine Lagarde (EU) - Law In the UK we saw what happened with Liz Truss (PM for 49 days) and Kwasi Kwarteng. They are what I call ideology zombies, can't see past their nose but we all saw how it ended. |
fadilaMaikiriki:Black people in general are lactose intolerant (80 percent of all African-Americans and Native Americans are lactose intolerant). Fulani and Hausa's seems to be an exception. A 1971 paper by Dr Kuti and co. There are more research papers available. Absorption of lactose by various Nigerian ethnic groups Reports have emanated from a number of regions in the world indicating that various ethnic groups are intolerant to lactose in milk. We accomplished lactose tolerance tests on four major tribal groups in Nigeria: Yoruba, Ibo, Fulani, and Hausa. The Yoruba and Ibo live in an area where there never was cattle-raising and, until recently, no milk was taken after weaning. The Hausa and Fulani live in the north of Nigeria where cattle-rising and ingestion of milk and milk-products are traditional. The data indicate that 99% of the Yoruba and 96% of the Ibo after the age of 1½ to 3 years malabsorb lactose, whereas only 64% of the Hausa and Fulani show malabsorption. But normadic Fulani, who are migratory cattlemen, show only 20% malabsorption. https://www.nature.com/articles/pr1971183 |
DesChyko:When this comes out now and you will find it is "much ado about nothing" then they will say the US have removed incriminating evidence to blackmail Tinubu. At some point this have to end but for now make great entertainment. |
Throwback:Google is his friend UnbelievableI can't confirm that Duro went to Chicago State University but can confirm that there is a Duro Ogunsanya who at some point lived in Chicago illinois. a "public affairs analyst" can choose to remove his web footprint! Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe Mickey Mouse Journalist ![]() |
Fahvvy:You hear this alot but ![]() If someone crossed the Sahara Desert and has been through hell over the past few months but has now reached the Mediterranean sea and a glimpse of Europe. You brother or sister now contact you saying I am embarking on the same journey as you big bro but he is advising please don't it is very dangerous. Does it make sense asking the big bro why don't you returned back home? It is like taking the stairs on a 30 storey building. You are now on the 17th floor, you are convince there is a pot of gold on the 30th floor and you are going for it. Why will this person turn back now only to start climbing another 30 storey building? It doesn't make sense. The advise been given is telling people not to give up and continue climbing until they reached the top, rather than start climbing another building from the first floor all the way to the top. The only problem with the above analogy is that people in Nigeria don't think there is any thing on the 30th floor in Nigeria and so can't be bothered to continue but they are convince there is a pot of gold on the 30th floor in Pakistan, India, Europe, Canada, Kazakhstan etc. Personally, I will advise not to give advise. People will find out themselves! |
IbeOkehie:Those who can afford to japa with family in Nigeria do not need pension in Nigeria. They have already made it. My point is why sell all and then rely on your state pension to start rebuilding in Nigeria? Another point is the state is not going to give you excessive amounts but if you are sending this to relative in Nigeria then either someone is feeding or you are still working at your old age. |
