You nairalanders ehh!! Una dey try wella. Especially the guys.. met this guy late last two years through this forum, we became friends on bbm and whatsapp. We did not meet face to face till May last year.
We met for the first time at one eatry, got reintroduced and then chatted away, talked about a lot and then argued plenty. His ideologies seems sooo different from mine and not even a thin line can bring it any closer. U guys won't believe it, we ended up arguing so hard till I excused myself out. We just sat over bottled water actually, lost my appetite for the meat pie I wanted to order.
Funny enough, he was too argumentative too jeezz.. but then I told him that we can't work. So I got home, deleted and erased his contacts from everywhere, I don't even know his nairaland username till now. We never contacted reach other ever since.
Fastforwarded to last week, this same guy chatted me up on whatsapp and since then till now, we have been friends, he said he doesn't know how my contact exists on his whatsapp contacts though no name and previous messages and that's because he cleared the messages then. So back to the beginning " u are so beautiful, this and that" we started reintroduction again, I recognized him real bad but why couldn't he recognize me!! Strange. He wants us to meet face to face again, still saying the same thing about been uncomfortable meeting people online.
Can't help smiling at guys and their designated way of going after what they like, I haven't told him that we have met before. Maybe I should meet him again and say it to his face. I thought that he would code because I still gave him the same info about me.
Thought I should share with u guys but not based on seeking advice or anything. Cheers.

I think it will make sense if he drops his ambiguous title curled from when he was a military leader, it shows that he has completely CHANGED as he made us believe and is ready to mingle with his subjects. It display humility, he can bear any other title higher than that and its OK but that "GENERAL" has an unsettling feeling attached to it. Obasanjo, Babangida and the rest of them don't even bear those titles anymore. So that tomorrow, he will not be controlled by that term "GENERAL"

Now I'm getting a bit scared.. its as if its a typical me except for few of the list which I don't experience. The most intensified one on me is having this feeling that something will happen and it suddenly happens though not necessarily negative things. Again some occurrences around me on everyday life makes me to STRONGLY believe that I was there when it occurred before and that it is just reoccurring exactly as it happened before, but I always can't remember the next thing that happened. Whenever it happen, all I say loudly in my mind is " I had been there before" don't know what all that means.

I believe that once parents starts comparing their children to other people's kids, it creates some psychological effects on them. Even in the family, especially the fathers. Whenever your kid faults, instead of meting out the punishment meant for him or her, they end up listing out how a failure the child is and start comparing the child to his or her siblings. This discretion can lead to inferiority complex, hatred, malice and anger which may end up becoming permanent in future.
Its also applicable to grown ups when their parents blames them and calls them failure in life and compare them to the son of one Mr Ojo who is successful or their younger siblings who are doing well. I know siblings who does not see eyeball to eyeball because of such situations. It leads to division in the family, some are sided with their mom while some are siding their dad.
Pls parents, beware of tearing your families apart because of such unintentional mistake in the bid that you are trying to motivate them to become better and hussle like their mates.

What happens next

Pls my people, do not kill yourselves over the polls, relax and wish the best outcome for this election. Even those that hates mathematics has suddenly become gurus. Pls monitor your parent especially the political obsessed ones so their blood pressures can be in check because after this election comes the aftermath.

I have tried uncountable times to create and imagine ONE good single reason why they take power in an ungodly hour of the night but I couldn't come up with one reason. Its highly understandable during the day time but at midnight !!! Even by 2 or 3am they still switch on and off the light. They just destroyed all my efforts now trying to record a seminar session on DSTV mtchewwww!!
Don't they sleep? Or they just hang around transformers switching light on and off at midnight while others are sleeping. Is there any tangible reason why PHCN would take light by that time?

so in essence, the adage about sparing the rod and spoiling your child is not relevant? Because I still know that some children takes corrections after you must have flogged them. Ok take for example, two different kids from different families fails a session or term in school, as in like 41st out of 42nd.. Very poor result, family A cautions the child and that's all, while Family B penalizes the child for not doing well irrespective of the lessons both at home and school. Which of these may take effect quickly than the other? I don't mean that they should kill the child but atleast a form of punishment has to be apportioned. Do u know that some kids starts crying once you caution them and may even refuse to eat their food just to make you go soft on them and apologize for shouting on them and even promise not to yell at them again and still beg them to eat. If a child do well, appraisal works more and motivates the child to do more. Some are just too block headed to take advices.

Even at 25, some parent still use cane as a form of punishment on their children forgetting that most times at that age, it could provoke their children to anger and undesirable reaction. There comes an age in one's life when cane can never solve the problems anymore. They said " soft words eases anger and strong will. Some parent prefer to wake their children up in the middle of the night to talk to them and sometimes, it works like magic.
You don't expect to use cane to correct your son you heard that joined cult in school especially a 300 level student. Some people has gotten used to the cane that they just shed a tear and scream on top of their voices shouting that it will never happen again but for where?? Na even that time, the wahala started, even some 16 year old boys now hang their parent's hand in the air with the Cane as they want to lash out on them hmm!! I have good news today!! My mom has been released so thank God with me. Just like I narrated the last time about all I knew about the case, I want to let u all know the latest development and full details of what happened. I told you the last time that I only said the least I know and one of you advised me to leave Lagos and go down and see her and also know if there is more to the case.

I travelled home on Wednesday (3 days back) after getting permission from my workplace.

My mom was released on that Wednesday around 6pm one full week from the Wednesday she was arrested. In fact 20 minutes after my younger brother brought her in, I entered the compound. I'm really happy and sad too because of her condition of health, of course you guys will understand me. She looked very horrible, lean, frightened, vulnerable and weak. Dark circles all over her eyes, suddenly she looked older than a 47 years old woman. Well, it's well. I lack words to tell you all about her situation because it brings dark clouds to my heart.

First signs she was exhibiting was over consciousness of her environment, at any door sound or loud voice, she seem to jump out of her skin and terror fills her eyes and she will start shaking, we managed to make her feel at home but it wasn't working, she wasn't able to eat yet. The truth is that my mom has this childish part of her life that still amazes us till now. We, her six children 3 boys and 3 girls all out of university believe that it was her early marriage at 15 that made her that way. She cries if you don't call her on phone for one week and pouts a lot. She is also a very strong mother, I don't know how to make you understand that my parents can never defraud anyone with the kind of hearts they have.

She ate only twice there so she lost all will to eat and till today, she still drinks only malt and water. But she is been taken care of by the family doctor, she will be fine. I have two phases of details to tell you people, 1: how she was released and 2: the full details of the case. Tnx for your patience on this.

THE FULL DETAILS:
I called my dad to narrate exactly what's up because I really don't know everything in details and this is how it happened; for those that knows main market Onitsha, you will understand this, my dad among other traders was among the people that bought over shop allocations then in one of the locations where shops building projects was going on then, a certain politician then, a woman though can't remember her name was involved in the project. They were building those shops and by then everywhere had been bought over even before the completion and all of them has their ownership and validity documents at the LGA. My dad said that the project later entered into political whatever and they halted the project, meanwhile , that was the documents that was used for the collateral. He banks with Union Bank over the years and funny enough, they have issued loans on 3 different occasions to him without collateral based on trust and it was later paid back. So on this issue, the bank contacted these property evaluation office to go and evaluate the property then. This may sound odd and unbelievable but that's the truth. The woman contacted by name "Naomi " (not real name just to call her that )went to our head office in Bright Street where my mom stays and met her on that fateful day and narrated why she came, my mom welcomed and gave a seat. She had to wait for my dad to come so they can both go the property for her job.

My mom said that after some time while they were just talking about business and stuff, she got up to go complaining that she is too busy and the weather was hot, mom urged her to wait but she left and few minutes later she came back and told mom that there is nothing really much on why she came that its just a procedure, that she will just take a picture of our shop and complete her work that its nothing though since they will repay the loan, she brought out her work camera and took snapshots of our shop and then left and that was the last time she came. Forwarded to this year now that the bank came, mom showed me photocopy of the letter she wrote to the bank concerning how she can be able to pay up that money and even the time frame was included, so they can grant her request. She is yet to receive a feedback from the bank before this thing happened.

They asked for collateral this time because of the setback on my parent's business, if you know No. 7 Bright street main market, u will know what happened there few years ago.
I found out as i got home that It was not even the Bank Manager that arrested my mom though I don't know if he has a hand in it from the background.

The bank went to the LGA for confirmation and then went to the property but found it not active and non existing, they summoned Naomi based on her evaluation evidence not been what they see now, she later called my dad to impose accusation on him that the day she came that he shouted her down and asked her to leave and that was the last thing I know my dad will do, my dad became very surprised and asked her if she can recognize him on sight, that was she not the one mom said that took pictures of our shop the day she came, she cut the phone. I heard she told the bank manager to give her few days to sort out the mix up that she wants to go to the LGA to clarify something, I don't know what happened but I think the bank found out what she did and then started having issues with her.

That was how SARS came and took my mom, it was at their office that we found out that her report says that my parents are frauds and she denied been the person that came for the evaluation on that day, she said it was the youth corper that served in her office then that came for it.

But the thing is that my mom heard of her name and knew that it was the same person that came to the shop that day. Well my friends, she was the one that called SARS for my parents, she instructed them to focus on my dad and that the family will hurriedly run around and pay the money. Even the day they came to the house, mom refused to allow them enter the house without a search warrant but they pushed her violently to the ground and one of them twisted her fingers. So concerning the shop I narrated on the other thread, it was an alternative shop of my parents but the bank refused it that it won't fetch that amount.

The actual amount loaned is 2.5 million and the interest is 6 million not 7 , my mistake. That's all. Another thing is that despite the fact that they have mom, they kept looking for my dad everywhere asking us to provide him. They were really hell bent on catching him courtesy the woman's request. She actually used SARS so that they will manipulate the situation so my dad can pay up the money and I don't see how it's her business for the money to be paid. Ok enough here.

HER BAIL:
I don't really understand the type of lawyer they had been using on this case, seems lawyers differ, his own was to file case to Federal court before mom comes out, very sluggish man though young and with family. Wednesday and she was still there, all the people my dad contacted were told by SARS boss that its fraud and they kept stretching the case. So my youngest sister contacted her friend in Abuja to talk to her dad, she mounted pressure on them that Wednesday, later a call came from State CID Awka to SARS that a person with a so so case at their custody should be brought to Awka with the case file that morning. They put my mom in the back of her Hilux and took her to Awka, they met the man and my mom told him everything as it happened, the man was shocked on hearing that she even stayed up to 48 hours in SARS custody not to talk of one full week hmm! He then asked for the complainant to report to Awka, they called her and she said she was at Asaba that she was coming, 3 hours later, she didn't arrive, they called and she said she was almost at Awka. 3.45pm she has not been seen and the man said he won't conclude on any decision until the woman comes, she stopped answering her calls and switched off her phone. Unknown to them, she went straight to SARS office to see her people, they put a call to Awka for my mom to be brought back! Meanwhile, the man in charge has gone out, I don't know what they call that his rank again, weda CPO abi IP whatever.

My mom noticed what was about happening and started begging an officer for his phone to make call, he dialed my sister's number, she already knew the source where the call came from through them. She told her what happened at Awka that they want to take her back to SARS, hmm!! My sis started her lamentation calls again and as God may have it, the man called and told them to wait for him, on arrival, he got to know that the woman never reported and went to SARS office, the man then made called to SARS department and gave some instructions and sent someone with them.

He told mom that she should not panic that whether the complainant surfaces or not, that he will send her home but she still has to make another statement, all these were done and they took mom back to SARS and bailed her with 50k, the woman has long left the office before they got there and nobody has heard from her since then till now. The lawyer asked for 300k to file the case, he was not even aware that my mom has come out, my brother called him that day and he said that all these TO and FRO movement is not yielding anything until he files the case, he was given half of the money so we can gather the rest. But that's for only filing the case fee, I don't understand him and he has not even come to the house to see mom and find out how she got bailed. They said she should report to SARS on Monday for their routine check.

My mom was actually in their cell 2 where other 27 women were, no space on the floor to lie down, she is actually suffering from the daily habit of them shooting young guys dead anyhow after which by midnight, they gather the bodies and go and dispose them, no one can avoid seeing those bodies and even hears shots when they were been killed, it's a small place so everything happens around them there. I even heard they sometimes uses this nylon bags to cover their heads before strangling them with iron chords, she is really more traumatized and frightened by what she had been seeing there than her condition.

She said the place is just like another world. Jungle justice. But all the same, thank God for my mom, she said that her greatest gift of all from God in this case is that her husband was never caught because if he was ever taken there hmm!! Who knows what the turn out of events would have been by now. So that it, I have told them to get another lawyer for this issue.

It's ok if you find these details lies or with some hidden informations, but thats everything there is to it. I understand most of you that called my dad names believing he is not man enough to face it, I agree but let my parents be complete and alive for us. Thanks everyone.

I have got some contacts from some NLDers here and those who feel like helping out. It's ok now atleast for those that are getting involved from now on, they will see how open the case is. The manager has taken a wrong step by using SARS instead of police department. He believed that through SARS, the seriousness of the bank will be noted but it has already been done. My father is doing his best. A Police commissioner has stepped into the matter now. All I see now is that our not having been able to pay the money has not been good but the department contacted by the bank manager for the arrest was wrong and it is affecting people's insinuations as to whether there is more to this case than this plain details I gave here but it's ok. My mom is fine.

Since he didn't take the loan himself he could as well be there for her, he could even have nominated to go in for her. There's something you're hiding though, cause the whole truth hasn't been told here as you admitted.

Let me make an educated guess on what transpired.

Seems to me your mom helped herself with a bank loan with your dad's property as collateral without his knowledge. Now, the bank have come for their money and your dad is not happy with your mon and have washed his hands off the matter. No sane man will abandon his wife and run to Lagos enroute China in such a hard time. He can as well cancel the trip, if all was ok. Some bitter truths are missing.

nothing is missing here.. They confirmed from the local government concerning the shop and it was valid. Besides, he did not run away, it's true his help that the whole situation has been under control now. What else has been the excuse except that we refused to pay up the amount, even the police lawyer is processing her release now. It was learnt that she was never supposed to have been there for more than 24 hours.. A SAN has been consulted and Its taking another turn now. She was unlawfully detained beyond the limit she stayed. I will still update you all on how the matter was handled. I also thought there was something else involved but at the end of the whole thing, it's still the fact that my parents couldn't pay them just yet.

miss you are right in whatever opinion you share here, but I also said that the bank refused to accept the main loan first to make it easier for my parents, now u said " probably" all avenues for them to recover it has failed, so tell me what other avenues you think they might have been using if not constantly reminding and summoning my dad for it? I also said that the bank manager just retired 3 months back while the debt has been there before now, or you think that 7 million is the highest debt a business man has ever owned a bank? tnx dear.. I don't know why they brought SARS. They did not destroy anything but jumping in through the gate is somehow, they tried to open it from inside for others outside but it was locked. It was my mom that later opened it for them. Around 5am, and it's not like my parents has been running away from the bank, we still bank with them.

With heavy heart, I narrate to you how my mom ended up in SARS custody till today. I may not be able to give every single detail of what happened but please feel my pain and give me your opinion and advice. It may be a bit long but please bear with me.

My parents stay at Anambra but I and my sister stay in Lagos due to our job, I called my mom on Wednesday last 2 days but her number was switched off and I called dad who said mom's phone is broken and that they will call us back when he gets to the house. Ok they never called, yesterday. The same excuses, I asked him if there is any problem, he replied ''no''.

Suddenly by 5.30 this morning he called that we should open the gate for him, meaning that he came to Lagos on night bus. We were surprised, though not that surprised because he is meant to leave for China tomorrow for business.

He opened up this morning that on Wednesday around 5am, their house help woke up to go and switch on the sumo to pump water and saw about five men jumping into our compound through the fence, she ran to their room and woke them, they started hearing loud bangs on the gate from outside and on the iron door entrance to our house. They later realized it was the police but SARS.

Before now, we had business setback and loaned around 2.8m from the bank, (3 years now to be precise). I don't know how they calculated the interest but last year they refused to accept the loan amount first so we can be paying the interest in instalments. So now it accumulated, my dad said the bank said its 7m that we shall pay and even one of our shops that was used as collateral wasn't moving well due to location so it was rented out but it is still my day's property and the local government has its evidence of existence and ownership. The loan was collected by my mom via my dad's signature and paper, they run different lines of businesses and both travels too.

It was the bank that sent them that morning, knowing that it will be very difficult to make contacts to alleviate the situation if they arrest my dad, my mom decided that dad hides so she could speak with them. My dad went up to our penthouse. They ransacked every where in the house and did not see him, one of them noticed the penthouse and went up threatening to break the door ( they were 8 in number). My mom told them that she is the one that got the loan not her husband, that she will go with them to their office.

She changed into her clothes and they took her away till today, my dad has been trying all possible best to bail her through the lawyer but its hard, then they started trailing my dad. The lawyer advised him to leave the state because it will be worst if they catch him and if they catch him, he should forget about traveling or access to make contact while in detention. Secondly it is really important for him to travel as his flight has been booked, since today, so much efforts have been put in to bail her but to no avail, the top ranked police officer has put a call through from Abuja but yet nothing. I don't know how much the SARS were paid.

They went with the shop's original documents and the lawyer today to the shop and the Manager ended up rejecting it after evaluation with reasons that it will not fetch them seven million, its harder because the former bank manager just retired and this is a new manger. The lawyer wanted to file a court case but the NBA Anambra is still on strike that's why it's difficult to bail her.

Her BP is fast going out of hand and she has refused to eat since Wednesday only water. My brother with the lawyer has taken her drugs to her, the lawyer has decided that by Monday, they file the case on Federal high court and that way, they will grant her bail. Everyone is panicking, I don't understand and I don't know but we all unanimously accept that dad should not go there.
