In the interest of sharing pls. find attached my comparison of LIon batteries ( which can be leaglly imported into Nigeria) and lead acid

The transport costs are approximated to the higher side. All battery prices are from manufacturers with direct quotes

Conclusion - Unless NERC increases unit rates of makes net metering legal. LEAD ACID comes out winner

The only exception is Smplifi USA who claim to have more than 10,000 Cycles life at rated capacity

I had few questions though. It's not a criticism but I am trying to understand how inverters are normally used in Nigeria

1. Are you not using AC IN -2 or AC out 2 - I don't see any wires or MCB for it.
2. Why there is a changeover switch. Victron has its own built in transfer switch rated 110 Amps of much better quality
3. Is there no earthing either for body or neutral? Normally an ELCB on output and connection external earth should be provided as Victron has floating output
4. if there is no other brand charge controller than BMV was not needed. Quattro has built in SOC monitoring you could have used Venus GX/CCGX giving customer the choice to see the battery status and other parameters online through mobile or on PC/Tablet - Was the price a constraint

#1 look under the change over you will see breakers for AC 1and 2. They are in use
#2 changeover allows us to bypass the inverter for service.
#3 it is grounded hidden behind the board. We ground everything we do.
#4 no solar no need for charge controller. The color control is part of the installation. You just can't see it. It is on the other side of the wall.
System will be commissioned in two weeks.

I have used both for personal use and client use. The Trojans need watering more often but reach capacity a bit faster. My clients can't tell the difference. When you compare remember that the US Battery that you purchase is of a lower AH than the Trojan. Over the last 14 months we have installed US Battery batteries and we have had no issues whatsoever.

I read your posts. And I wanted to understand what you were asking him to do and why you felt it made logical sense.
I am not going to give a solution. Like a previous poster said. This topic has been covered many times before and he or she will be better served by reading through before taking advice from anyone.

He need 60A charge controller which would cost more that 40A MPPT.. it's better to have 24V 200Ah Bank than 12V 400AH..

So the difference in cost between a 40 A and 60 A is more than the cost of replacing his inverter.
Let me make sure I understand you. He already has an inverter.
You want him to forget his inverter and buy a 24 V inverter to justify buying a 60 Amp controller. Is this what you are asking him or her to do?
