Business / Re: Selling Products Online From Nigeria by chrishenzo: 3:40pm On Jun 02, 2012
Running online business in Nigeria is a daunting task. Ranging from payment security, delivery concern, etc. One of the main issue affecting Nigeria online business is that most of the people into buying and selling business don't have any knowledge of computer let alone selling their product through the internet.

In most advanced country, any business person advertises his/her product online in one way or the other but in Nigeria that is not that the case. Most believe in "Cash and Carry" mentality.

Regarding the delivery, personally I don't think it is a much problem. You can simply give the product/item to any of the buses like ABC, GUO, etc and the buyer will receive it. It is even more faster than DHL,UPS etc

The good news is that our organization provides both sellers and buyers to ability to run a smooth transaction on our platform. As a seller, you can upload an unlimited products on our platform, monitor your sales, get your own instant online shop, stay connected with your customers, business expose around the world, and much more

As a buyer, you don't need credit card to purchase an item, you can buy from any where around the world, you receive your goods before money is release to the seller, cancel your order when seller fails to deliver your product, smooth transaction with the seller, negotiate price, and much more

Politics / Re: Why Is South Africa More Developed And Stable Than Nigeria?? by chrishenzo: 7:56am On May 28, 2012
owobokiri: According to most of you, the white skin is the magic wand? So why is Albania and most of eastern europe sorry sights? They are not white enough? Is China white? Japan? South Africa has enjoyed massive western investments since the aparthied years because just like the isrealis or Japanese, they totally subsumed themselves to the core tenets of western civilization. Period! If you want to know what happend in South Africa, look at what didnt happen in Zimbabwe after western bank loans dried up following Mugabes land seizures.

In the 70s, Zim was under a white rulership that protected massive western/colonial investments in the country. Mugabe took over and even killed to protect these investments and he was knighted by the queen! Then he had an epiphany and went for their farms and dear Zim was torn to pieces. Dubai and co ar biulding up their cities today wth a mixture of bank loans and their oil cash. Note how they follow NATO all over the place even in the Arab world. It is just like a gang of thieves who share their spoils after every expedition. Even Apartheid South Africa was proped up by the west because while the white minority government terrorized the black population, the same government kowtowed to western dictates no matter who was in charge. In essence, Botha would have bowed to Obama as the leader of the "free world" if Obama was in charge then and Obama would have protected that government irrespective of his black lineage!

Most African countries are not that imperialistic. Although there is this belief in western circles that African nationalistic struggles share similar ideals with socialism, it is obvious that racism also encourages certain western political and economic policies in Africa. So what happened in South Africa is just a question of the super rich helping to develope the small guys who abide by his rules by playing their roles to entrench his dominating ideas. Dont be surprised if Dubai and co get favourable loan deals from the world bank and co to foot the construction boom in their countries deu to their roles in Libya- a fellow Arab country. Color has a role in this but the answer is not as simple as black and white.

Brilliant analysis. It is unfortunate that most people on this forum don't understand the rules of politics and power. They seem to relate everything with skin color. I always encourage my friends and even enemies to engage themselves with books and documentary rather than fictional movies.

Many years ago, most Chinese are complaining what Nigerians are complaining today.Even most of their citizens don't believe that their country will ever become better. Most people look than upon them as stupid and senseless people but now the game has changed.

Another great issue that is drawing Nigeria back is ethnicity and religion. Like someone said earlier, it is hard to see a country that is diverse as Nigeria without issues.

So to start with, it is better to break that country into segments or come up with a rule that suits everyone

And for those that care, I would also recommend reading books like "The Economic Hitman".

Webmasters / Re: Do People Still Click Adverts? Share You Experience by chrishenzo: 6:09am On May 17, 2012
You make a very nice observation. You get clicks depending on the country that visit your website most. If countries like USA,England, Canada, Germany, etc visit your website most, I don't think you will get more clicks compare to when countries like Nigeria, Ghana, China, Cameroun, etc visit your country.

The main reason is this; most of the people in USA,Canada, etc have their personal computers. Most can differentiate between site content and the ads on your site. Moreover, since they are using their personal computer, they can simply install adblock to their computer and no ads will appear again in any website they visit.

Compare this to someone visiting your site from Nigeria, it is likely that the person will be visiting from a cybercafe. Beside the person might not know what is an ad and is likely to click on it.

If you doubt my analysis, ask Seun to tell you what percentage of clicks he get from Nigeria visitors compare to clicks he get from countries like UK, USA.

Again, the last time I check out the current users of Adblock(for firefox alone), it is 14,235,991 users. Wow!! that is more than 7million dollar lost.

nairawall: How reliable is your ad vendor program?

It is very reliable since your site has to appear on other people's website while their site will appear on yours. Not only will it boost your traffic, it will also increase your backlinks, faster indexing of your pages, etc.

Webmasters / Seun, There Is A Mistake. Hope You Can Fix It Soon. by chrishenzo: 6:01pm On May 14, 2012
Take a look at this took website

1.) www.example.com ( With Hyperlink icon insertion)
2.) www.example.com (Without the Hyperlink icon insertion)

Click on the first link, instead of navigating to the website which is "example", it will redirect the user to this same topic. To get a picture of what I mean, move your mouse over the first link, you will see something like "https://www.nairaland.com/2er9e9/www.example.com

But when you click on the second link, it will redirect without issue.

I think there are some code issue with the form "Hyperlink" above. Hope it get fix

Webmasters / Re: Site Review by chrishenzo: 4:54pm On May 14, 2012
I noticed that the site takes a little bit longer to load on my side. Moreover the non active links and the background have the same color with makes it invisible to the naked eyes. If a user fail to move his/her mouse over, the user might think you have only the "Home Page" link.

Anyway, now that your site is up and running, consider joining our P2P Free Advertising( Or Social Advertising). Using this method, your site appears on other peoples website while their site appears on your website just like google, yahoo, etc adverts.

If only they can stick to their decision, it will be a good decision

I believe that electricity plays a great role in most of Nigeria commodity prices. I wonder why in this age, a country(maybe continent) like Nigeria is still suffering from unstable electricity. Fix the Electricity first and most things will fall back to normal.

Business / Re: Start Importing Laptops Into Nigeria And Keep Making The Money (INTRO) by chrishenzo: 4:02pm On May 10, 2012
legalwealth:

You are right as capital is the main problem but there are people that have this money leaving them fallow in their bank account as I know that some might be viewing this thread now..........................................

Just get yourself up to them or market yourself to them if you have the experience to make things work out.................

Another thing, products from USA especially from Amazon are of great quality and of originality than those in Nigeria as I can tell you, most laptops you see in Nigeria are branded type from china as most people(Importer) do pay the chinese guys to brand it with HP,TOSHIBA lots more logo.

Imagine,I'm just back from Amazon and I saw a Samsung Galaxy tab someone close to me bought in Lagos calculated amout for me to bring it to Nigeria with at most N50,000 and Imagine me making just N30,000 on that and imagine how much I will make on Laptops and even memory cards shipping that is okay and hot for now.

The laptops you see in Amazon are also made in China. They ship it to USA. It always amaze me when some people say something like "I don't want Ipad made in China.", without knowing that the ones they bought in USA are also made in China.

The fact is that China has both original product and fake product. It depends on how you tackle the business

I have been asking myself if there is a way to make website advertising free without paying any money to any company. I searched the web for such service but found none embarassed. What came to my mind is writing a P2P advert script that can allow web owners (both old and new) to advertise their webmaster free.

Finally, it seems that the job is getting done. I would like my fellow webmasters or web owners to post their websites here for testing purposes.
Post it in this format-->

I will post the link for everyone to check.

ONLINEbizDON4U:

Nice shopping site you've gat there but which country are you based & hope those goods are real and available.

I can see different mode of Payments but I can be helping fellow Nigerians
to pay for any of the listed goods with my verified PayPal account that cannot be limited that I've been using for the past one and half years for different payments even worth thousands of $$$$$$$$$$$.

Thank you for your comment. The products are real. Besides, buyers can easily shop on Chrisvicmall platform without worrying about dubious sellers since they(buyers) are protected by our escrow service.

A person residing in Nigeria doesn't have to worry about about not having a credit card. Buyer can easily buy products with his/her Chrisvicmall Naira account from anyone selling product which the currency is in dollar.

Culture / Re: oo by chrishenzo: 6:21am On May 07, 2012
Coming from Africa doesn't mean that everyone should understand each other. There are a lot of cultural differences, language differences, etc. Please don't act like one of those quack journalists that always write something like this

" 10 people from Canada, 5 people from USA, 6 people from Africa,8 people from England, 4 from Germany, 3 people from Japan and 2 people from China".

Africa is not a country for God sake. If you think that other race, yellow, green, white, pink, indigo, etc stick together then I have no doubt that I have found another Alice in Wonderland.

Regarding the issue of some Nigerians looking down on African American, I think they are suffering from ignorance. Maybe some of the movies they watched, the news they heard, how your society (USA) talk about them(AA), affects their (those Nigerians) sense of reasoning.

I have no issue with anyone accept those that refuses to grow up.
