Baawaa: aasog1:Thank you my brothers. Saying Nigeria is the top internet user is like saying China is the world most rice consumer knowing fully well that they have the highest population. Even a child knows the answer. As the internet speed, it is a big time scam. Imagine paying for some thousands but yet can't even watch videos in youtube. |
ushafe:My brother do not judge all Northerner with the behaviour of few people. In any group/race, there a good and bad people. The only problem I see is the top men not coming out openly and criticize the behaviour of the few. Maybe they don't want to do that for the fear of the unknown. Regarding to your question "Why the Northerners are scared to stay on their own", the answer is this: It is simply because of the OIL. If there are as much oil in the north as it is in the south, most northerns will also consider to break up. If the northerner break up today, it is obvious that they has got a lot to loose. For example, in buying and selling, industrial aspect, it is mainly the Igbos and Yorubas dominated the area. In international recognization, it is also the Yorubas and Igbos. Moreover, where do you expect them to get money to develop the area? I guess you might be thinking of selling groundnut, onions, pepper, etc. But as you know, it can not yield billions the way oil is yielding currently. Some people has figured out that you need to sell 500thousand onions or more before you can drive that jeep. "Wow that is a hard job". Even insurance guys no reach this level. Some from other ethnic groups also make a lot in this game called Nigeria. So don't blame only the northerns. Another reason you think that they are not interested in breaking up is the role of the international agencies in this game called Nigeria. Most international agencies also know that if Nigeria break up today, their source of income will cease to exist. Finally one thing is for sure, if Nigeria breaks today, all ethnic groups in Nigeria will feel the pain for some time, but some will feel it for more years. |
uchmann:If that is not what you needed, I am sorry for wasting your time. Wish you good luck |
Poster you should have tell us what which currency you mean. As you know someone might be a billionaire in Zimbabwe or Indonesia but not a billionaira in naira. Likewise if you have 1billion naira, when you convert that amount to pounds, euro, dollar, peso, yuan, yen, franc, etc, you are not a billionaire agaion. One of the main field that is likely to make a Nigeria a billionaire in the near future is IT, or Entertainment. I still believe that someone can still be a billionaire. It is well with him to him that believe. |
frap:Poster I think you should say "US/UK quality" because almost all the us/uk wears are made in China but they pay attention to the quality because it might get banned. The question should be " Can a Nigerian become a billionaire without the authorities trying to frustrate him/her." The issue with the country is that once your business starts to show signs of life, the authorities instead of showing support, they will start looking for a way to get their own shear. But poster, you have to give the country the thing it wants most, then after then you will start thinking of becoming a billionaire |
I don't know about you but I am completely tired of this electricity game. Every year the same thing. Past and present governments has use it as their campaign. But all we see is soldier come soldier go, barack remain. Until we get men who know the meaning of patriotic and the importance of electricity in this modern economy, then we can bring talk to the table. All these talks are Tales by moonlight |
There are a lot of e-commerce websites in nigeria. For Chrisvicmall(www.chrisvicmall.com). An open platform where you can buy or sell products online. Offering one of the best Buyers and Sellers Protection. You can also try to google it. |
Poster I think you do not understand the meaning of EXPERT. Designing a website doesn't prove that someone is an expert. If I design a website with any CMS/Framework but don't know anything about HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT,PHP/ASP/JSP/, do you think I am qualify to be called an EXPERT. If your answer is YES, then I pity anyone that attend your lesson. Look at Google, Yahoo, Amazon, Facebook, Ebay, Paypal, and other famous website, do you know why they stand out from the rest? The answer is because they coded everything from scratch. They add the things people want, remove the ones that doesn't work well, change code when it is necessary. Ok take a look at nairaland, because it is being powered by SMF it is always hard for SEUN to add some of his own idea on the site. Sometimes he had to wait/depend on modules. It has always remain the same. So tell me, are you teaching me html/CSS/PHP/JAVASCRIPT/ASP/JSP/ etc or are you teaching me one of these CMS/FRAMEWORKS? |
^^^^ Haha, you cracked me up. Anyway when are they going to start dismissing people that embezzled Nigeria money from public offices? |
@Londoner There is a great truth in what you said. There is no way a country will become great without its citizens being patriots. When citizens of a country are so patriotic, they work so hard to improve it in all aspects. Look at USA, most of them display their patriot through all aspect( sports, cloths, etc). Look at Canada, UK, Germany, etc. I was once chatting with a Nigerian in the midst of about 20 foreigners. He was shouting ' Nigerians and everyone in Nigerians are fools. Their brains are dead. Nothing moves forward. They act like stone age men." When I asked him what has done/is doing to fix Nigeria. He said " Who cares, besides why should they wait for me to fix it". The foreigners were laughing. That was my worst embarrassment. What is happening in Nigeria is exactly what happened to China before Japan invaded them. Most of them as of the time only cares about their ethnicity and this gave the Japanese a great advantage to invade China. But look at China today, almost everyone is working hard to change the face of their country. As for me, Nigeria is never a country and anyone that think otherwise is deluding him/herself. The three main ethnics group in Nigeria (Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba), all has the population of Ghana. Their (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba) has their own different culture, language, writing, etc. Again, English as the main language. Tell me which part of the world you will see such scenario. Tell me how you expect a country to move forward when some people in power will make stupid rules in order to hinder the progress of another ethnic groups. Tell me how you expect a country to move forward when people vote not because of quality of the person but because he/she is from their own ethnic group. Tell me how you expect a country to move forward when in this time of age, the people in power don't know the importance of "ELECTRICITY". Imagine a country where the ministry of education children schooling abroad. A pure case of leader not leading by example. For Nigeria to progress, an equal opportunity should be put into law. No politician should earn more than 200,000 naira a month. If they don't want the job, they should leave it. The situation in Nigeria sometimes makes me think that breaking up Nigeria is the best option to move the country forward. Everyone will focus on their own issue. |
ofala: nnacent:You guys are right. Imagine if a million or more pay into their account, that is a mega millionaire over night. This reminds me of company that claim that they give scholarship to students and request 450naira for the examination fee. My friend applied and went to the bank to pay. Fortunately for him, he remember to asked if the account hold is a company or individual, the banker told him that the account belong to one guy claiming to be a company. Please people be careful |
I think it is high time the authorities start arresting any company that wants its job applicants to pay before interview or test. Even if the company is legitimate, that method is a pure robbery. Someone should report the case to the authority. |
I don't know whether to blame the moderator that posted this on the front page or the people that commented on it without even considering it. Seun and his moderator just because to get traffic, you guys are making this forum a childish thing. So you all concluded because of pictures you saw on the net. What prove do you have that the guy is his husband? Nigerians and their mentality. |
My personal opinion is that I would prefer the people in-charge to use the fund to upgrade the universities already in the state. For example, buying great learning equipments for FUTO,IMSU, etc. I hold the same view towards any other state or private university owners. I don't know about you but I am getting tired of quantity instead of quality |
Kilode?!:Believe it or not, the main reason you believe the data is because it has to do with negativeness. If they have said something positive, many folks will say they are not telling us the truth. I believe their is poverty but I question the data. |
Nigerians and the way they always believe negative things said about them, especially when it comes from a foreign media. First how did they come to the conclusion and the percentage. Where did they get their data? How many times have any media approached you and asked you how much you are earning? etc. This is a general propaganda. Please do not believe anything you read on the news. Do the reasoning first. |
If you have an eCommerce website and would like to exchange link with us, please feel free to drop a line. Anyway regarding the script, I just finished a link/banner exchange script which I will be implementing on www.chrisvicmall.com for a client. This script is useful for people participating in banner/link exchange program or people advertising their website. How it works, Suppose you are participating in a banner/link exchange program. You agreed to display their(your partners) websites link/banner on your website and they agree to display yours on their website. You have to agree with me that it is a tedious job to visit their website everyday checking if they really keep their promise. This is where the script comes to work. The script craws your partners websites checking for your website link. If the script cannot find your website link/banner, it send a text message to your phone immediately and also send an alert message to your email informing you the news. It can also stop displaying your partners link/banner on your websites. If you are interested in this script, let's talk. |
In one of the websites I am working on, I noticed that if I add http://www, the session_start(), won't work but if I add http:// without the "www", the session_start() will work. For example <?php session_start(); http://www.example.com/useraccount ?> In the above code, the session_start() won't work and the user will appear to be logout but with the code below (without the "www"), everything will be working perfectly. <?php session_start(); http://example.com/helloworld ?> Can someone tell me what is causing this problem? |
Am I the only one that think that Interswitch charge is so expensive. The funny thing is that after paying the 150,000K, they will still be charging you some percentage on any sale you made on the website. Anyway, I don't blame them, it is called CAPITALISM. @Poster, don't forget to upload your products on ChrisvicMall(www.chrisvicmall.com). It is an open platform where people can buy or sell products. |

Poster I hope you are joking. Anyway sometimes we don't have to blame put all the blames on the government. Instead of complaining of not finding a job, why not create one so that you can give someone else a job. If you are a graduate, don't tell me that your education is a waste. Apply what you have learnt from the university into your real life. Wish you well |
Currently I am considering of a better way of driving traffic to ChrisvicMall(www.chrisvicmall.com) for my client. My client is considering buying traffic like website redirecting. One advantage of this is that it can bring 10000 visitors within 3 weeks. But I am thinking that since my client has adsense on the website, I would like to know if Google is against using such method? |
Poster what is this? |
You can also sell your product on ChrisvicMall(www.chrisvicmall.com). Register as a retailer and start uploading your product image and info on ChrisvicMall. ChrisvicMall is a new market platform where users can buy or sell online without worry if the buyer will send the product or if the seller won't pay. Both buyers and sellers are protected. As a seller, always take your shop everywhere you go and chat with your buyers from the comfort of your home. Get alert when someone buy's your product and know exactly which product they are interested in buying. Beat your competitors and build your online customers. As a buyer, you can buy any item even when the price tag is in dollars. If you saw a product you like in another website but the prices is in dollar or you are afraid that the seller might not send the product to you if you make the payment, tell the seller to upload the product on ChrisvicMall so that you can be able to buy it and also have complete control of your money until the seller send the payment. All you need is to meet people that have a particular product and collect their prices. Whenever someone purchase the product from you, you can get it from the seller and send it to the buyer. Doing this gives you the opportunity of making your own gain without stress. |
I am currently using Bidvertiser(www.bidvertiser.com) to advertiser my client's website. I noticed some strange things happening. Anytime someone visit the website through Bidvertiser, the person will remain on the same page for 5-30 minutes without navigating to a different page. After the 30minutes, the person will leave the website. I am wondering if this is robots. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? |
