bloggers make it seem right but I have lots of friends who live abroad and married this way and some ended badly some are just there.

Guys living abroad do it a lot because they don't have any option or time to date the lady cos they aren't around to date and to know her more, so what they usually consider are:

1. Is she a nurse or doctor

2. Is she very fine and attractive

3. Is she from a tribe or community they have no issues getting married to

Once the lady in question meets these criterias above, boom, they rush to her fathers house to marry her, its nothing new, social media is only making it seem new.

So the summary is, a guy living abroad meets a lady he thinks meets his taste and has the qualification he wants, and a lady meets a guy living abroad, the dream of every Nigerian lady...what else do u expect Marry!


Its cool for guys who do it and it works for them...but its risky....if only people see what's happening behind the scene of their life, they will marvel at the people they love and trust

There are different types of mental issues that doctors just haven't discovered. So,I'm here thinking about how I would call up my parents and ask them to follow me to go and do introduction to a girl I met on the internet, who I haven't seen in my entire life. My father would ask me: "are you listening to yourself at all"? That question alone would make me see the foolishness I'm trying to exhibit, in all its glory. I can't even tell them that I met someone on the internet and want to marry her; they'd never take me serious. I'd have to tell the girl to lie that we met at an event or somewhere reasonable...

I'm used to seeing Nigerians argue irrationally and unintelligently and as such,won't be surprised if they do.

Let's be factual here. We are criticizing Trump out of emotions and sentiments. The way Africans see Somalia as a useless country not worthy of living in,that's how the average white sees Africa. Africa has a lot of good brains who have excelled in the US and other countries,and are still moving forward. But when you comapare them with the ones who are useless and constitute a nuisance wherever they are, it becomes a sad thing. If I were a foreigner, and I keep hearing about the kind of things that comes out of Africa (Nigeria to be precise), I would almost certainly think same way. Truth is that we are living abnormally in Nigeria and Africa bit we do not know it because we are already used to this kind of life. When African leaders and their citizens decide to sit up and do the right thing, they'd begin to earn respect for themselves. Nigeria is a perfect example or what a nation should never be.

I was about saying same thing. My waec result that I wrote when internet service was just for a few amongst the rich, is still better than this result. One would think that with so much information and access to the internet, these kids would do very well in academics but the reverse is the case.

I'mm a hard working self employed man of 36years and my fiancee is 39years.. We both are graduates and M.sc holders from uniport. ..

We have known selves since 2014 and told my parents in 2016 that its her I want to get married to.. They all accepted her upon meeting her and sat, January 6, 2018 was fixed for introduction... I was so happy and was in high spirit... Then come on Saturday morning, my mum called a meeting, with dad, grand mum, two of dad sisters, 2 kindred men, my immediate younger sister and brother...

My marriage issue was raised as topic and mum insisted on the age of my fiancee and said she must get pregnant first before us or myself would go for any introduction....

She was supported by 2/3 of the people present at an early morning meeting called by 4am on the same Saturday i had told my fiancee my people were coming.....

The meeting went and ended in a disaster and mum called my fiancee to cancel the introduction insisting she first get pregnant...

Please, what do you guys think I should do as my fiancee is a born again Christian with RCCG....

I'm sorry to say this but your mum isn't behaving like a responsible person, with that kind of stand. This is one of the reasons why I always blame irresponsible behaviors of young men and women, on the part of the parents. Let me tell you a short story:

2 years ago,my sister was engaged to someone and after having the introduction and looking forward to the wedding, the dude called off the wedding with a few flisy excuses amongst which was the issue of my sister not allowing him to have sex with her... My sister cried in my arms and I consoled her and told her God would bring someone better. Truly,God did exactly that. The first day I met the guy,I loved him immediately as a younger brother, went in and told my sister " I like that guy". Today,they are married and living as a couple. They had a fantastic wedding in Oct last year.

Why am I telling you this? If your girl is a good girl and you allow one irresponsible advice make you do away with her,be sure that there is someone out there waiting to make a wife out of her. Some of us are still single because we haven't even found someone worthy of being a fiance/fiancee. Finding true love, is one of the hardest tasks for men and women today. Don't throw away what is valuable to you,stupidly. At 36,you are no longer a kid.

Haven been in your shoes,I must say that I perfectly understand what is going on in your mind. It's such a big temptation. As a matter of fact, it's the biggest temptation I have ever faced in life,and it's worse when the ladies are pretty. I was very close to falling but thank God for grace... My point is that we shouldn't always be too excited with having a high foreign reserve when it doesn't automatically translate to a better standard of living for the citizens. While it is good to have a healthy reserve, it is also pertinent that we improve standard of living. Not having high foreign reserves with poor standard of living.

I don't know how this excites you guys. It's just like having a man who sells cashewnuts and saves his money in the bank and almost doesn't spend a part of it. Yet,he goes about borrowing money to feed his children, pay house rent, pay school fees,plead with relatives to send foodstuffs so his children can eat, waits for his church/mosque to do charity and dash him things. But then,he keeps bragging about how much he has in his bank account,despite the fact that the standard of living of his family is very poor.

Why do people complicate their lives? Guys would have good loyal faithful women as wives, and still be looking outside. Women will have responsible loyal husbands and still be looking outside... How come discipline, never means anything to these people?

How come you are putting all the blame on him even without knowing his story? What if he discovered the ladies were unfaithful to him? One thing I know for sure is that, it is generally becoming more difficult for us to get married these days because of how bad the society is. Some love and trust with all of their hearts,and still get burnt. Money isn't enough to keep a lady who doesn't have loyalty in her genes. Average/poor folks are getting married daily and still separating within a short while(we all read the stories on nl everyday). The more you progress in life(financially and otherwise), the more it becomes difficult to choose a partner. You have to deal with several buts and what its. Most of us (young men and women)aren't married at our age not by choice, but due to circumstances beyond our control. I miss when "I love you" meant a great deal to us. Today, " I love you " is like saying good morning, how far or what's up. Until we all decide to be honest with our feelings be loyal and responsible, we all(rich,average and poor) would continue to find getting married, a big problem.
