Politics / Re: Ijaws And Igbos Only, Let's Explore Peaceful Setlements In Opobo And Bonny by Chrs1996(m): 12:02pm On Dec 01, 2023
Paraman:
Opobo and Bonny was lumped into the Eastern region by the British before you were born. Just the way Nigeria was created by the British before you were born.

Eastern region was created by the white men in 1954, not by an Igbo man.

You can not be claiming Opobo or bonny is Igbo land because they found themselves in the eastern region alongside igbos.

Only Indigenes of Opobo and Bonny can decide what they want, not an Igbo man like you that is not from Bonny or Opobo.

Here is a 1911 ethnographic map of southern Nigeria, Ijaw would not dare claim Bonny and Opobo as of then. Your audacity began after the civil war. Bonny and Opobo are Ijaw only in the imaginations of the Ijaws, if Nigeria is to collapse today, you have no claim over the territory. Ur claim ends when Nigeria ends.

As it stands Rivers state is an Igbo majority state followed by the Ogoni. If we can unite the igbo tribes in Rivers state to one cause, whatever claim the Ijaws has over Bonny and Opobo will die a natural death.

Alex balls, you don't negotiate with people who are bent on expanding into ur territory, you show them strong fist.

Politics / Re: I'm Full-blooded Ijaw Man And We're Bold, Courageous - Fubara Tells Critics by Chrs1996(m): 11:21am On Nov 26, 2023
Having gone through the whole threads, It does seem that the Ijaws from Bayelsa are having severe orgasms because of Governor Fubara declaration. Fubara is a politician, and like all politicians they hunt for alignments (even with the devil himself), one should not be overly excited about this confession, rather should look out for his actions in the govt House.

Speaking of which, Opobo (as well as Bonny) and all its surroundings environment are Igboland in its entirety. The doubts and speculation about the origin of this two areas and others began to pour out after the civil (it does seem that there was an underground agreement btw Gowon, Awolowo and the Izons leaders to claim this territories as Ijaw reward for been on the Nigeran side). Every precolonial documents, history books by independent and govt sponsored researchers confirms these areas as Igboland having been first founded and peopled by the Igbos of hinterland, particularly the Ndokis.

What the the ijaw youth Council (IYC) have done (and is still doing) since the end of the civil war is very brilliant, they have made great strides in stamping their footprint on the land and its people, they migrated their en mass, taken up leadership positions and have tried (almost succeeded in twisting the origin history of these places). Their giant strides in this classics of expansionism and ethnic cleaning should be a thing of study in higher institutions.

Although backed by the anti- igbo federal govts since the civil war ended, I still consider it foolish, and a case misdirected brilliance by the Ijaws. This is not an evil done against a small tribe like the Urhobos, Itshekiris or maybe the Idomas, but rather you choose to hurt a giant (who still sleeps, and heals from it war injuries). It would have been better if these areas were packed up into a truck and transported to a faraway and unknown location (that is what a real pirate would do). I am certain you will fail woefully. Ur fight will not be against the Ikwerres, the Ndokis, the Ubanis, the Ndonis or the Etches alone, but rather the whole Igbo Nation.

In Rivers state, the igbos make up atleast 71% of the Rivers population, territory, followed by the Ogonis before we talk about the Ijaw. There is no way in hell an Ijaw man will govern Rivers states without the Igbos support, it is impossible.

As time progresses, the Igbos in Rivers state will be united as one block, and when that happens, an Igbo version of the IYC will be established, the fireworks will be so bright.

First pix;A British ethnographic map of southern Nigeria, showing the ethnicities and their territory in 1911, b4 almagation. You can sight where ijaw territory start and finish.

Second picture; Igbo tribes and their population, you can sight the Ubanis ( Bonny and Opobo)

Swiftgrp:

As of 1870 (when Jaja an Ijawnized former slave originally sold by his kinsfolk from Amaigbo in Imo, fled from Bonny Island with some of his men to escape being killed by more powerfully armed rivals in Bonny, but fortunately some of his European friends came to his aid and saved him and his team) what we call Opobo was actually called Ikot Abasi in Ibibioland. Opobo was neither Ijaw nor Ibo but fully Ibibioland! The modern Opobo you see today has ancestries from Ibibio, Ijaw, and Ibo mixed.

The Ijaws had elaborate initiation ceremonies that they usually did for some of their freed slaves to convert them to Ijaws (and that is what happened to all the slaves that were brought by the Aros and Abams from the interior Ibo tribes or other ethnic group). The Ijaws were the middlemen in Bonny Island and other slave export areas. The Ibibios, Efiks, etc, also acted as middlemen in the slave trade.

Back to Opobo, many years ago, I first read advanced archival historical books written by Europeans NOT the doctored online propaganda we see today indicating that the Ibibios gave Jaja some of their land which was part of Ikot Abasi to stay but later became very brutal and started challenging and preventing the interior tribes along the river from engaging in the lucrative trading with the white guys and these caused wars between Jaja and other ethnicities. The British (who refered to Jaja as a middlemen chief NOT as a king from a royal family and infact Ijaw custom does NOT allow freed slaves like Jaja or freeborns to become kings or Amayanabos. So how he ended up being called a king is dubious), also got tired of his arrogance and brutal killings and beheadings of rival ethnicities that they finally got rid of him. After all it was his British trader friends who rescued him from the onslaught of Bonny warriors otherwise, he would have been killed as of 1870!

Another cock and bull trash with no historical evidence. Here is a British 1921 ethnographical map of southern Nigeria. You can sight where the Ijaw territory start and finish

This Is a British 1921 ethnographic map of southern Nigeria. You can see clearly where the Ijaw territory are rightfully located, and you can also sight the map of igbo land extending towards Bonny and Opobo, yorubaland, jekri land(itshekiri), Benin land , igara (igala), ibibio land, and even Ogoni land, etc

What ever ijaw claim as their territory today is simply them trying to be an expansionist. The Ijaws are only trying to take advantage of Igbos political weakness after the civil war.

You will have us to contend with for hundreds of years, and definitely you will fail woefully.

Politics / Re: Edwin Clark Asks Tinubu To Remove Abia, Imo, Ondo From NDDC by Chrs1996(m): 3:10pm On Oct 25, 2023
Is one thing to have oil and gas resources buried under ur land, and is a different thing entirely to have it extracted. Imo, Abia and Anambra states have these resources in their abundance, but how much of it is extracted, or allowed to be extracted is a case yet to be cracked. For someone to suggest they shouldn't be part of the NDDC is malicious and a crooked way of thinking.

I love ur assertion, it paints a vivid picture of what we see in Anioma today.
Igboid:
If the one that went to Bini to get a staff succeeded, he will know that his support base is Bini, and he will do everything to link himself biologically to Bini to continuously get Bini support against his local rivals.
He would take on a Bini title, he would marry Bini princesses, his Biniphilic descendants will now start spinning stories of town being established by Bini princes, and this story will not be opposed by others because it sounds prestigious to be linked with Bini.

And so through attachment to Bini, the new monarchy in Western Igbo establishes a monarchial throne for himself and his descendants forever and he will justify it by claiming to be a Descendant of imaginary Bini prince.
This story will be passed from generation to generation until modern times when people with rational braincells will challenge it, by noting how impossible it is for a Bini man to establish Igbo speaking communities.

This is where we are today.

Politics / Re: COAS Yahaya To Tinubu: Army Remains Loyal To You & To The Constitution by Chrs1996(m): 5:51am On Jun 16, 2023
seunmsg:

Like I told you before, the president is a creation of the constitution. The Nigeria Army, another creation of the constitution is commanded by the president. Once the army is loyal and accepts the command of the president, the issue of loyalty to the constitution is settled. Tinubu can remove the COAS tomorrow and nothing will happen. So, why should he be concerned?

There is nothing like “if by chance the constitution has been breached” before swearing in. Once INEC declares a winner, it remains the position of the law until the final court rules otherwise. Even if there are truly constitutional breaches in the electoral process, it is not for you, me or the COAS to decide or act on. Me, you and COAS are legally bound to recognize only the winner declared by INEC until the Supreme Court rules otherwise.

Again, note that even if the Supreme Court ruled that the president wasn’t validly elected, the ruling doesn’t change the fact that he had served as the president and all decisions made while in office remains valid. Segun Oni and Chris Ngige are both former governors despite the fact that their elections were invalidated by the court.

Finally, there was no breach of the constitution whatsoever in the process leading to the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The PEPT and Supreme Court will affirm his election. He has absolutely nothing to worry about.
whether there was a breach( ur correction was well noted) in the constitution during the Election proces or not, that alone is left for the election tribunal to decide upon(I consider the tribunal part and parcel of the election). You and me are expected to leave the final conclusions to them alone.

The only difference between any seasoned politician and the President is the powers the Nigerian constitution bestows on it(after satisfying ALL the constitutional prerequisites). In my own view, the powers of the military is trimmed to size by the country's constitution(if there was no constitution, then the military reigns supreme). To say the constitution created the Nigerian military may be an overstated declaration, rather, (in my own view) the constitution is there to checkmate the military and set restraints for it.

In ur statement you made mention of INEC twice, and the powers you felt it radiates. But without the constitution backing it and the law it is expected to adhere to, INEC is just a gathering of individuals with their personal motivations and objectives.

Peace.

The president is a creation of the constitution. Nobody can be bigger than the constitution.
the Army general was vocal enough to state his loyalty to two distinct entities, the president, and then to the Constitution. If by any chance the constitution have been bridged prior to the swearing in of the president, you will agree with me that the General is legally mandated to uphold the superior entity, which as you stated is the Nigerian constitution.

I read a lot of meaning to the General's overstated response, and if I was Tinubu, I will be concerned.

And according to the Constitution, Bola Tinubu is the president and commander in chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That’s why all the armed forces are loyal to him as their C-in-C. The only force loyal to Peter Obi is the illegal terrorist outfit called ESN/UGM turned obedients.
A simple question Mr seun. Between the constitution and the president, who do you consider superior to each other ?

It will help if you try not to deflect the question, that is if you will be willing to respond.

This is what I was trying to let someone understand, without undergoing endless debates, Imo state receives allocation for 27 lga, more than double that of Ebonyi with 13 lga, Imo receives crude oil 13% derivatives, Imo has more natural resources and industries generating revenue than Ebonyi. Both governors were in APC, yet despite these advantages, Hope in 4 yrs did not commence or complete any major project for the state, something the people can always relate to him in years to come. Our recent gas earnings have been very private, no public information on that. What exactly is hope doing in my state for 4 years?

Can you list the things Hope has done for Imo State?

Hope Uzodinma beats his predecessors? Maybe, or maybe not. But has he done well? I don't think so. Imo state is the richest state in the South East, and one of the richest in Nigeria. And it oil and gas wealth figures have been grossly understated, infact we hear next to nothing about our earnings from the gas industry in the state. Some times I wonder why the Northern cabal is so interested in who governs Imo state, starting from Rochas to the recent supreme Court saga. If there is any state in the southeast that should top every developmental indices, it should be Imo state, but this not the case. Hope in the Last 4 years can only boast of road construction, particularly in Owerri and nothing else. There is no other mega project that he has started or completed, so what exactly does he spend our money on. Hope visited Aso Rock more than any governor from the Eastern region, yet he could not attract any federal project to the state, yet people still have the effrontery to come online and promote him. I want us to analyse Dave Umahi tenure, and observe the catalogue of projects he was able to start and even complete for his state, both were in APC, both were Aso rock regular visitors. Should we talk about the insecurity and introduction of thuggery for harassment before, during and even after elections.

Unless you are sponsored by Hope Uzodinma and his party, I see no reason why any Imolite will campaign and promote Hope.
Broveens42:

Lol. You could be an APC man
But the fact remains uzodinma beat his predicessors hands down... I could remember that poly road in those days where people would even call and cry over the radio, just to fall on deaf ears.
Hope came in and appreciated it's importance to students and not just because it's a federal route. Thats "needs assessment"
After mbakwe, Hope is the next governor that does needs assessment ..
Ihedioha's own was demolishing Hand of god, at his first thoughts .
I was even surprised seeing some of Rochas' artificial palm still standing during the last yuletide and people say Hope doesn't mean governance?.. come on!

Food / Re: Taiwan, Malaysia Detect Ethylene Oxide In Indomie Noodles by Chrs1996(m): 5:21pm On Apr 29, 2023
Ethylene oxide would most likely be used as an addictive,(a substance used to trigger ur appetite for the food, used mostly in food and drink industry to increase patronage). Most big food industries use this addictives and sometimes they can be carcinogenic.

Indomie has this special flavour and aroma that makes one to long for it specifically, that is the work of an addictive.

I had to cutoff from consuming it because it got increasingly expensive, as a medical student I felt it was high time I part ways with it. Also, it causes me diarrhoea, most especially when I prepare it with the follow come spices ( I also observed eating expired indomie didn't result in me having diarrhoea). All these quickened my resolve on it.

What Peter Obi did was the bravest and best decision, he gave us a bargaining rights. At a point even Kwankwaso was belittling him and the his movement. If he doesn't get his mandate back from the SC, he should aligne with other major parties from the north and broker deals, He can bargain on a strong footing.

I haven't heard from Kwankwoso since the presidential elections.

If obi didn't happen PDP would never respect Igbos ...never ..u yourself would not be here seeking alliance with Obi ... that's a fact you might even feel minister of state is enough compensation for him

If PDP is holding meeting with obi today he would sit at the highest of highest if tables ....no body would respect you when they don't know what you bring to the table

If you actually believe that Nigeria produces this low amount of oil on daily basis, both onshore and offshore, then you can believe anything. Before Buhari, a CIA report suggested that more than half of oil produced in Nigeria on daily basis was stolen! But I think that under this regime, they are trying to steal everything and the quietness exhibited by most Nigerians seems to have given them much confidence. First they made sure that every single part of the Oil industry is controlled by northerners, including the ministry of petroleum headed by Buhari himself! Then they told you that NNPC can not remit anything into the federation account for months now and you agreed. Now they're telling you that they barely can produce up to one million barrels of oil per day and you're about to gobble that one too. You are the monumental mumu here. These guys don't want to share anything coming from oiland gas with anyone anymore...

When Buhari saturated The NNPC with his northern brothers some of us in the opposition, shouted ourselves hoarse but we were called names. When he skillfully got rid of Kemi Nelson and foisted that monumental dumb numbskull that is there now as the finance minister, we raised alarm about this attempt to corner all sections of the governments revenue generation sectors by northerners, but were called tribalists. When Buhari made himself the Petroleum Minister, an act that is glaringly unconstitutional and proceeded later to chase out anyone that could question him or his brothers in that ministry like Ibe Kachikwu, some Nigerians cheered him on. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.. Like I have said in several posts, I believe that Buhari and his cousins from Zinder via Marada in Niger republic that are in governments across Nigeria, set a very serious arrangement in place to loot this country dry before the end of his tenure. Could be they are planning a new nation with Niger republic or something else, but it's crystal clear, than they have their own "Ministry of Finance".

That applies when there is a higher authority to enforce the contract. These are sovereigns and are only subject to arbitration process they agree with.

But legally, Germany breached the contract by making it unenforceable. How, we sign a contract that you pay me for gas in Euro's, then you go back to your country and take a unilateral action that prevents me from accessing the Euros you paid. So by force majure (act of Govt. the contract is suspended) the contract is now unenforceable. I then take unilateral action that if you still want gas you pay in my Rubble, since the contract is unenforceable since there is effectively no consideration paid for my gas, I am within my rights to review the contract terms.
So do not think the arbitration will be to Germany's favour.
By freezing Russian external reserve, the contract itself have become breached.
